Part One
Epilogue
The solar flares aren't coming. No, they're already here. They blast the surface of the Earth with such power that the fires last days, that the ground splinters and splits, that the sky turns a deep dark gray that will last decades.
Unsure where it all went wrong, she starts from the beginning. She searches through time and watches it all. She looks to the past and finds failure and despair as her civilization's heroes fail them. So she looks forward instead. Diving into the future, she desperately searches for people, for the Isu, for the Humans, for any sign of life to show her that she isn't the only one still breathing. That she's not alone.
And what she finds is a tale of adventure, of survival, of a time-traveling girl named Jennifer Hernandez and an Assassin name Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad who fight and live and love until, one day, they suddenly don't. Until, one day, everything goes wrong and Jennifer is gone. Lost to her own world and forever gone from theirs and what follows next of a tale of pain and grief for the Assassin left on their side of the swirl.
And she thinks, "No. It can't end like this. I won't let it."
And with one last, bone-rattling groan the world stills. Quieted and that when she knows. Her world has ended. Wiped clean off the face of the earth, but a new one shall raise from its ashes.
One where a certain Time-traveling girl and Assassin will have their Happily Ever After.
