Chapter 35: 60 minutes

Reina huffed impatiently as she sat inside the stretched vehicle with her arms entwined over her chest, fuming and pouting. She eagerly stared outside the window, thinking about how today had been a disaster so far. A double wedding would be held in an hour. Was she pleased with herself for being tardy to both her best friend's weddings? Most certainly not. She had that to thanks to the tall blond vampire sitting beside her. Shu carelessness made them late to the wedding after all. She did everything to wake him up from his beauty sleep. Yet, he tuned her out and continued to sleep like nothing mattered. Disregarding how adorable he always looked while sleeping, she had no choice but to let Laito, Kyoyo and the others leave without them that morning.

It was bad enough that she was 5 months pregnant when technically, she was only a month and three weeks long into her pregnancy. Explaining this to her parents was utmost exhausting and complicated enough. Reina knew that she'd have to tell them the truth soon. However, she didn't know where to begin first. With that being said, she promised her parents that once she returned after the wedding, she and Shu would tell them everything they need to hear. After all, it's not everyday you find out that your only child has been living with 7 vampire for almost a year, so she need more time to thinking it through, even if it does kill her.

With one look, she sent a death glare in Shu's direction and proceeded to stare out the window. "This is your fault. I hope you know that," she rashly spoke out.

Shu's eyelids flickered open at the sound of his pregnant girlfriend's harsh tone. He knew that he was in the wrong for his actions earlier. Yet, he also assumed that she'd get over it by now. The blond took a glimpse at her with his headphones still plugged in his ears. A look of profound weariness suppressed his annoyance within him. He couldn't believe how stubborn she was acting. Quite frankly, it tired the hell out of him. What exactly did she want him to do? Get on his knees, beg for forgiveness and hope they aren't late to his younger brothers's wedding? According to Shu, that wasn't happening in any shape or form. Besides, it wasn't there wedding and this hold thing just tired him out even more.

The blond vampire closed his eyes and inhaled deeply before facing forward. "You shouldn't stress yourself out over something so petty. It's not good for the baby," he protested.

Reina scowled at him with a fire blazing in her eyes. "Excuse you? I wouldn't be stress out if it wasn't for someone making us late!"

"Honestly, I'm sitting beside you. Do you have to be so loud?" He questioned her calmly.

The brunettes mouth gaped open and closed rapidly. "W-What- You're doing it again!"

"What, Reina? What am I doing now?"

"Tuning me out because you don't want to be bother," she retorted.

He grumped at her. "I have no idea what you're talking about. It's all in your head... Therefore, I'll let it slide for today, because I have no intention whatsoever on getting on your bad side when your all moody and pregnant like this." He stated freely before quieten down.

For that brief moment, the car became silent again. Shu thought that maybe his statement got through to her finally. So all the tension that built up inside of him, subsided.

Shu felt lighter when the sound of his classical music suddenly drifted away from his ears. Without opening his eyes, he moved his hands around to search for his headset. When he didn't feel that it was attached to his mp3 player, his eyes instantly snapped open and he glanced over at Reina who was gripping the dangling headset in her hand.

"Reina, if you want to keep that hand of yours, then I suggest you give me back my headset," he warned.

"In that case, I think I won't be giving it back to you. They'd serve better purpose in the trash anyway."

He rose a eyebrow at her. "What is your problem today?"

"You want to know my problem? My problem is you, Shu Sakamaki... Because of you, we got left behind, and now, we might not make it on time to the wedding... You don't think that I'd have an ounce of command sense to know when someone is trying to belittle me? How dare you look down at me this way."

"I'm not looking down at you," he reassured her. I'm terrified of what you might think of the truth...

"Then what is it? You've been acting weird since I reminded you about leaving a few days ago," she reminded. "Unless... Are you mad that I haven't told my parents that you're a vampire?"

He shook his head. "I assure you, that's not the case. Truth is, I don't have the energy to tell you at the moment... So please, just leave the subject of the matter alone for now." You'd probably end up resenting me after I tell you anyway.

"Fine, I gonna trust your judgement... But, I don't want things to be awkward between us again," she clarified.

Shu leaned over and kissed her gently on the nose. "We already had this discussion. I love you and our baby more than anything. I'll kill before I let anyone come between us again. Believe me."

The brunette blushed hard. "I-I do... What - Shu, you are too close! This is inappropriate. We aren't the only two people in the car, you know!"

Shu hovered above her now. "So what? Let'um watch. I more concentrated on how to get you out of that dress."

"SHU!"

Mayu had her hair curled and pinned on top of her head in a elegant and messy bun, a few stands of silky pink curls fell over her pale clavicles, which set off the makeup she applied on earlier. She wore a red velvet dress that stopped a few meters below the knees. The dress also exposed most of her back and cleavage off to the world. But did she care? Not at all.

At that time, all she could think about was more and more blood. She could smell it all the way from the dining hall on the west-side of the mansion where the weddings was being prepared. With only 45 minutes left until then, she didn't know how much longer she could control her hunger. Mayu wanted to devour the first mortal she comes across, but then she would go back to the conversation Christa had with her a few weeks ago.

Christa took a long sip of her coffee before placing it down properly on the table. "Do you know why I called you here, Mayu?"

Mayu shook her head and lowered it to her lap. "No... At least, I don't think I do... Is this about me calling you a young tramp on the day we first met?"

Christa chuckled in reply. "Most certainly not. That isn't the reason why I asked you to meet me here today."

She looked up at the beautiful elder woman sitting before her. "I don't mean to sound skeptical, but why did you bring me here? I already caused so much trouble as it is."

"I said I'd help you. Remember? That was our agreement."

"Yes it was," Mayu confirmed after nodding her head once more. "What I don't understand is, why would you help someone like me?"

"Because... you're my son's lover. Aren't you not?"

Mayu immediately coughed with her palm over her chest. "Lover? I wouldn't use that term to cover Subaru and I relationship. But yeah, we've been dating for 8 months now and I'm crazy about him."

Christa optimistically smiled at Mayu with her chin resting on top of her fist. "Crazy about him, huh? I'm going out on limb here and assume that you both are sexually intimate. Are there any plans to marry my son and bear his children? You did give up everything for him and pursued a life of a vampire. Am I correct?"

Mayu looked down at her twiddling thumbs and blushed. "I know that sounds naive. But I have my reasons for the choice I made recently."

"Oh dear, as long as you're happy, I couldn't really care less. I am more concerned about you accepting it ... Like my coffee for instance, which is bitter. My life was also bitter and I was unhappy for centuries. I only started to accept my life for what it is for my son, Subaru and my husband, Karl. In order to do that, I had to get some help, so I left for a long time..." Christa paused while staring directly at Mayu with those innocent eyes. "And that's why I decided to help you. I believe that I can help bring you to justice and peace, if you allow me to."

Mayu smiled happily."Thank you a lot for your kindness. This means a lot to me."

Christa smiled politely before drinking her coffee again. "Don't overreact my dear. We are family and you will be my future daughter-in-law someday."

After there little heart-to-heart, Christa trained Mayu to control her appetite and urges. There was so many times she wanted to sneak into town and find a helpless human to feed on and fulfill her every thirst. Every time these thoughts came to mind, she'd always heard Christa's voice in the back of her mind, telling her to control herself, you will get through this, and you're not a monster.

Times like these, she wished that she was more like Yui. It seemed so much simpler for her newlywed blonde friend. Frankly, Mayu was jealous of her more than anybody else. Yui had 2 beautiful children and she was getting married to Ayato who Mayu thought was incredibly hot with childlike cutesy features. Of course all the Sakamaki brothers were really hot, but there was just something about Subaru,Ayato and Shu's features that made them stick out more than the rest. She remembered when her, Reina and Kyoyo first came there, they were completely horrified of them. Although, even though the boys were rude, forceful and indecent at times, that didn't stop the girls from noticing their good looks and boyish charm. These were conversations Mayu missed having with her friends. Now, things were changing and everybody was drifting apart from each other. Mayu realized that she didn't like some of the changes that occurred in her new life so far. Not being able to connect with all her friends anymore was definitely one of them.

"Tch, you're taking a decade in here," complained Subaru who was standing in front of the door frame.

Mayu smirked mischievously through the mirror at him. "I'm sorry, my love. Beauty takes time," she pointed out while touching up the curls hanging loosely over her shoulders.

Subaru rolled his eyes and huffed. "I highly doubt this is the time for that. There are only 40 minutes until the weddings start and the girls need your assistants."

Mayu excitedly whipped her head around to look at him. "Really?! They need me?"

Subaru turned pink and looked away when noticing how gorgeous she looked that day. "Don't overreact. Yui is going through a crisis and Izumi is getting cold feet because of Yui's crisis. So Aiko asked me to come get you.

Yes! This is your chance, Mayu. Prove to your friends that you've been making progress. The newbie vampire nodded to herself with her fist clenching upwards tightly.

"Oi! Are you done daydreaming so we can go?" Subaru loudly questioned her.

Mayu stood up from the chair and straighten up her dress quickly. "Yup! Let's go."

The white-headed vampire walked further inside the room and stepped in her path. "Wait... Did you take some of the potion Reiji made for you?"

She slowly nodded and grinned. "Yes. You don't have to worry about me, Subaru!" Mayu told him before fixing the bow tie around his neck. "I have everything under control."

He narrowed his eyes at her suspicious. "I-I don't know Mayu... Today is a very important day for Yui and Izumi. I think you should take the entire potion, just in case."

"Put-Put, Suba-chan! You know how I get when I drink the whole bottle. I either feel high as a kite or sleepy. Those aren't good side effects at all!"

"Well! Reiji did tell you that the side effect were dizziness or it will make you sleepy... I rather my girlfriend be sleepy than trying to destroy her best friends's wedding day."

"Now you're overreacting. I'd never do that to my friends!"

"You won't, but your multiple personality would," he reminded her.

"I've been doing pretty good lately without her appearing on me. Haven't I?"

Subaru sighed. "You have no idea what I've been through. Should we go down the list?"

"No," she replied sharply and stomped her foot. "Fine! I'll take the rest of the potion, if that will make you happy."

"Good choice." Subaru kissed his girlfriend on the cheek before walking away. "I'll wait for you outside." He mentioned when making his exit.

Once he was gone, Mayu walked over to her dresser and jerked it open. Inside were 12 medicine bottles that would last her for the next two weeks. She picked up the bottle that was half way empty, popped open the lid and empty the rest of it outside her bedroom window seal. Somewhere in her mind, she thought there was something to prove to her boyfriend and the others. Could Mayu make it through the day without her other half appearing on her? She was about to find out.

"I-I... I can't do this," Yui declared before crying out hysterically again.

Aiko exhaled deeply and forced on a cheerful smile. "Why can't you do this, Yui? It's your wedding day and you're supposed to be happy your wedding day... Right?"

The blond sniffled and glanced up at her. "I guess so..."

"Aww, Yui. Don't cry because you're making me cry even more," Izumi said as she rubbed her back.

Kyoyo stood up from her chair and walked over to sit beside her friend. "Then what's the matter? You've been crying for over an half hour now. You're wedding is in 30 minutes."

Yui whipped the tears away with her forefinger and took a deep breath. "It just occurred to me that my father isn't here to give his daughter away and walk me down the aisle."

"I'm sorry Yui, but that man doesn't deserve to walk you anywhere," Kyoyo bluntly told her.

"I hate to break this to you, but Kyoyo's right" Aiko pointed out. "I still don't understand why your father gave you up like that. Any father that hands their daughter over to vampires, doesn't deserve to be at their wedding."

"Then I won't marry Ayato," Yui proclaimed.

"If she's not getting married, then I'm not getting married either," Izumi announced.

Kyoyo arched an eyebrow. "Izumi, don't be silly. You've been waiting for this day. Don't back out on Kanato now."

"But I just feel like we rushed this wedding to prove a point to Azusa," she reminded.

"You did," Aiko and Kyoyo shouted at the same time.

"And you see the reason why I don't want to do this anymore," Izumi cried.

Suddenly, Mayu peeked inside the crack of the door and slipped inside quietly. "Hey," she waved and smiled politely.

"Mayu!" Kyoyo rushed over to her best friend and hugged her warmly. "I missed you so much! You have no idea."

Mayu smiled over her shoulder. "I missed you too Kyoyo. It feels good to have you back." Not long after, she pulled away and glanced around the room. "Where's Reina?"

"She didn't arrive yet. I know that Shu was giving her a hard time this morning, so they should be here shortly," Kyoyo explained to her.

"Oh..." Mayu responded before looking over at the others. She gasped and placed both her hands over her mouth when she saw how beautiful Yui and Izumi looked in their gowns. "Oh my goodness! You both look so beautiful! ...But why the sad faces?"

Yui's lip trembled before she responded. "My father isn't here to walk me down the aisle and give me away to the groom."

"Well, you got one thing right. He may not be here to walk you down the aisle, but he did kind of give you away along time ago," Mayu stated without thinking.

Kyoyo placed both hands over her friends mouth. "That's enough, Mayu," she whispered inside her ear. "We already said too much."

"If Yui isn't ready to walk down the aisle, then there's not point of having me do it either," Izumi repeated.

Aiko gestured her hands up in defeat. "I give up! I feel like I'm wasting my breath here trying to convince you two! ...Yui! If you don't want to get married, then you need to tell Ayato that you don't want to marry him over daddy issues. Same goes for you, Izumi... I never seen Kanato look so excited about anything before. Don't take this moment away from him because someone else is having problems... You both are being so selfish, it utterly ridiculous and I'm pissed the hell off!"

Everybody in the room blinked at Aiko in awe with their mouths hanging open.

"What!" She shouted furiously.

"Nothing," they all responded.

"I'm gonna go look for Laito," Kyoyo declared as she headed through the entryway. "In the next 20 minutes from now, there better be a double wedding," she threaten before leaving their sight completely.

"I don't know who's more intimidating... Aiko or Kyoyo," Mayu thought out loud with her index finger to her chin.

"That would be Kyoyo. I may seem intimidating to most, but I'm not... I'm just naturally bitchy," Aiko pointed out.

"I can't argue with that,"Mayu proclaimed.

Ayato snarled furiously as he paced back and forth in front of his brothers. "I can't believe this! Do you hear what they're talking about in the other room?"

"Yes, Ayato," Laito responded with a yawn. "We've been sitting here and listening for the last 20 minutes. I'm bored of listening."

Kanato's eyes continued to follow his brother as he paced through the room. "It's rude to eavesdrop, Ayato. Yui, won't be happy when she hears about this."

The redhead stopped in the middle of his step. He immediately glared over at his twin brothers. "Screw that! You heard what she said! She doesn't want to marry me unless her father is here."

"What can I tell you, brother... Every girls dream is to walk down the aisle with their father. Bitch-chan just realized that her dream were shattered before it even started," Laito clarified.

"That's bullshit! I'll walk her down the aisle myself if it means that much to her," Ayato snapped.

Laito giggled. "How sweet. Would you like for me to arrange a vow for her with the word "daddy" written on it as well?"

Ayato redden."Shut the hell up!"

"This is bothersome! I rather not discuss it anymore." Kanato complained as he cradled his teddy bear to his chest. "Right, teddy?"

Ayato closed his eyes and growled in anger. "I don't know what to do if she calls off the wedding. How do I face something like that? We have a children together. Damn it!"

"You're not alone in this," Kanato said under his breath. "I also have to face the fact that Izumi might not marry me by the end of the night." When hearing himself say that made him frown deeply. "I don't want to even thinking about what would happen next."

"You and I both!" Ayato sucked his teeth.

Suddenly, a knock came from the door. Ayato stalked over to the door and recklessly pulled it open . "What brings you here? It better be good!"

"Um, is Laito here?"asked Kyoyo who was a bit taken aback by Ayato's tone.

To save the trouble of answering, Ayato pulled the door open widely, so that she could observe the room for herself. She automatically smiled when she saw Laito leaning back against the lounging chair with his eyes closed.

The dark haired girl bit down on her lip. "Laito...Do you think that maybe I can see you alone for a sec?"

"Sure thing, my pet," the redhead answered as he stood up and went to the door. He smirked mischievously to himself before looking over his shoulder at his younger brothers. "You kiddies better play nicely when I'm gone."

"Drop dead," Ayato spat out and threw Laito's forte hat that landed on his face.

"Yeah! Do us both that favor! Will you?" Kanato yelled out shortly after.

Laito yanked the hat off his face and smiled at them with a irritating look. He then turned away when he realized how pointless it was to speak any further and continued to walk out the door. "Come along, love-kitten. I have no intention on being here much longer."

Kyoyo respectfully bowed her head down to the others in the room and closed the door behind him.

...

Laito led them to the garden area that was just around the back of the mansion. The leaves were falling off the trees and the roses were more gorgeous then ever even though they were going to die out for the winter soon. Laito and Kyoyo walked silently beside each other for the next 8 minutes. It was ridiculous how much she wanted to be close to him on that day. She'd be even happier if she had the guts to grab his hand and hold it, but she was scared to death that he would pull away. Laito seem to sense her worry, so he looked down at her.

"What's the matter?"

She slightly glanced at him and pulled a strand of hair behind her ear. "I was just thinking..."

"About?"

"About... What you're going to do when I'm gone."

Laito's body tensed when she said that. He didn't expect those words to come out of her mouth so soon. "I haven't thought about it. I guess I'll do what I normally do before I met you."

"And what is that?"

The redhead forced on a smirk that didn't reach his face completely. "Be a lady killer."

Kyoyo snorted, "You are no lady killer, Laito. You need to get that out of your head now."

The redhead turned around to face his girlfriend and backed her up against the stone brick wall. He extended one hand out against the wall to block her path and placed the other hand inside his pocket. "How would you know that?"

"Because you're my man... and you've been faithfully dating me for almost a year now."

"Are you saying that I can't go back to my old ways?"

She nodded. "Uh-huh, that's exactly what I'm saying."

He took a few second to stare into those big purple eyes of hers, then spoke again. "You want to know what I'm going to do?"

"Of course I want to know."

"I'm gonna fuck you silly against this wall, and you're gonna like it."

Kyoyo cheeks were flushed. "You can't just -"

Kyoyo was cut short when he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. Kyoyo's heart skipped the beat when his soft cold lips connected with her. When she finally registered that she wasn't making any sudden movement with her mouth, she wrapped her arms around him before kissing back.

Warning: Smut scene

Laito lifted up the hem of her dress and tore the panties away from her body. Kyoyo gaped against his lips as his hand slipped between her thighs and hooked her leg around his waist.

"I didn't bring a extra pair of panties with me, you jerk!" She panted out against his lips.

"I will run upstairs and get you another pair, later." He breathed out as he unfastened his trouser and pulled out his member.

"You act like we have all the time in the world!"

"I beg a differ!" He said with the back of his hand tracing down the side of her face. "You asked for a sec of my time, remember?"

"Laito I -" He pushed his hips forward and slipped his member inside her. Kyoyo made a painful expression with her mouth hanging open every time he'd plunged deeper inside.

"Oh god!" She cried out, keeping her eyes closed tightly.

The redhead pulled out and pushed back in with one powerful thrust.

"Ouch! So down!"

"I can't..." he said against her ear and bit it. "You feel too good to be true."

Kyoyo moaned. "You are so dead once you're done fucking me!"

"He-he, I'm nowhere near done fucking you yet," He smugly retorted.

The feel of her walls wrapped around his length made him ache for more. He found himself picking up the pace, making her jolt each time he penetrated her walls.

"Oh fuck!" She breathed out as her nails dug into his shoulders.

Laito kept pounding inside her faster and harder. He was well aware that he was throwing her off even if she was at the break of her breaking point. Her walls contracted against his length and he groaned with delight.

"On second thought, I think I might keep you in Japan, after all." He told her

End of smut

There sexy time suddenly came to an end when a clear of the throat interrupted their fun.
