He looked up at the face towering above him: she smiled at him and smoothed down his soft, fair hair. 'Go on,' her gaze seemed to tell him, 'You can do it.'
He looked at the only other big person present: He was kneeling with hands stretched out, smiling, ready to catch him... or simply waiting for him, he wasn't sure.
She nudged him toward him, very gently... He was still waiting across that short distance; whether he fell or made it…
Finally, he decided to let go of her hand and take his first step… then another... and another...
