So, like I mentioned before, there is going to be A LOT. I literally had to read through 25 pages of notes in my phone just to jog my memory of what I initially planned for this story. XD I even had revisions done to my revisions before having the entire idea cut off altogether, LOL. So, brace yourselves. ;) And try to enjoy it, too, of course. :)
Mission Interference: Deleted Scenes
1. Ulrich falls in love with Brynga.
I think I've mentioned this before. Yes, it's true. *bows head in shame* The initial plan was to have Ulrich engage in this psychological battle with himself. With his feelings for Yumi still present, he alarmingly realizes that they are gradually fading as he spends more and more time with Brynga (this is all after Yumi left for Japan). At first this was only meant to make Yumi jealous as she spends time with William, but it doesn't turn out that way. Brynga also becomes a bad girlfriend influence to Ulrich as she pressures him to do terrible teenage things.
a) Subplot: Ulrich was also given an ultimatum. What was happening at that time? Well, let's just say that there was some Brynga/Ulrich fluff… They make out, basically. As this happens, I make it seem like Brynga was whimpering in pain as they get more and more physical, worrying Ulrich. He finds out some things about Brynga… which will be discussed next.
2. Brynga's Backstory
I'll just type it out as it is straight from my phone's notes: "Brynga was wasted. Dominik would always keep her locked inside the castle, because he wants to stop people from finding out that he had a daughter. As he got closer to total continental domination, Brynga grabbed the money she stole little by little from him as the days passed by, and took a train far away to Spain. There she spent money on a hotel, and then ran out; she was a princess and didn't know how to work, and so became a prostitute.
She is still mad at her father to this day, but just the fact alone that he is her father, she had no choice but to think that Dominik's ways were right, and helped him anyway when the Kinimods found her. Dominik told the Kinimods that they had a daughter, so they knew about Brynga. Due to her fragile appearance as a prostitute, they thought that it would be the easiest to use her to deceive Eurasia's Army. Brynga is just too loyal to her father."
I wouldn't know if I would call this a deleted scene. I just failed to mention this entire chunk of information since Brynga and Ulrich's relationship did not make the final cut. The intended purpose was to have all this mentioned as Ulrich pesters Brynga…And out of sheer guilt, she confesses. The backstory is true nevertheless.
3. Ulrich's Ultimatum (As mentioned before)
So, after Ulrich finds out about Brynga, he's in shock, obviously. This results in Brynga closing his mouth shut with an ultimatum much similar to the one she gives to Yumi: If he lets everyone know about her dirty tricks, she'll bring the entire Main Branch to their deaths. Ulrich agrees as the Icelandic continues to seduce him. This and Yumi's ultimatum leads to another deleted scene…
4. Ulrich's reputation is damaged.
So, this entire mess eventually leads to Jeremie finding out on his own, and he punishes Ulrich severely for keeping secrets. Might I need to say that his relationship with Brynga has ended at this point? Anyway, yes, Ulrich is kicked out of the Main Branch, and for symbolic purposes, his betrayal is made known by having him wear an article of black clothing for the rest of the time he is in the organization. A bracelet, perhaps?
5. "Stopping Demolition"
This is where things might get a bit confusing. I had a plan B for how Ulrich reacts to Brynga's confession: he doesn't agree to the ultimatum. He simply storms outside, only to find the Kinimods waiting for a fight in the battle arena, similar to how Odd reacted when he caught Brynga in "The Duel." Ulrich runs off to fight Dashiel, hopeful to get rid of the leader. Brynga tries to stop him, but Yumi stops her, having just surprisingly came back from Japan.
The Kinimods eventually escape, however, driving Jeremie insane. He begins to work day and night, leaving Aelita to her own devices and causing the two to drift. She tries to tell him he's working too much, he disagrees, they start a fight, and, eventually, they break up (the duel wasn't even an idea at the time). This leads us to our next deleted scene.
6. Clara
She was a stand-in OC until I thought Laura to be much more suitable. She was basically the element of tearing Jeremie and Aelita apart instead of the duel. So yes, as you would assume, I initially had Clara/Laura as a member of the Kinimods. But I decided to throw that out.
Like in Code Lyoko Evolution, Clara/Laura is the "it girl" for Jeremie. Very intelligent with a high interest in computers, she's the epitome of what Jeremie would theoretically want in a girl. She grabs his attention as Aelita remains faithful in their relationship. But after their breakup, as mentioned in #5, Clara definitely gets closer and closer to Jeremie.
However, Jeremie never got into a relationship with Clara, for he still had feelings for Aelita. The girl only respects him, and decides to back off.
7. Yumi gets kidnapped.
Possibly the most complicated of all to explain. I basically had three ideas of Yumi's kidnapping. And, of course, it was always perpetrated by the Kinimods. The purpose of this was to give an excuse for Ulrich to save Yumi out of pure love, and have Odd, Jeremie, and Aelita witness it. Eventually, the five warriors apologize to each other after realizing that their love is unbreakable.
a) There's a fight at headquarters similar to in "Stopping Demolition." Yumi gets kidnapped by the Kinimods during the fight.
b) While Yumi wanders aimlessly through Japan, she is distracted by all the memories of her now dead brother, exactly like how it is in "Memories of Home." However, as she faints, the Kinimods capture her.
c) In this idea, Yumi actually makes it to Japan's headquarters. However, while she's there, she gets kidnapped. The Kinimods don't barge in, though—they all dress up in Japanese garb to gain the trust of Naoko Noboru, and calmly go inside. Cue Eurasia's Army coming to the rescue, also in Japanese clothes. A whole battle occurs outside of the temple headquarters, Japanese style. ;) Overall, I would've thought that that would be a really fun and cool setting to have a fight. However, while Eurasia's Army had the dragon's barrette to teleport to Japan, the Kinimods could only do so by plane, which would take between thirteen to fourteen hours. So, yes, big time gap, eh heh.
Kidnapping Yumi was all part of the Kinimod's plan to lure in the others. They take Yumi down to the sewers, and the five have to split up. The Kinimods try to kill each warrior one by one, but they eventually fail. Ulrich is the one to get to Yumi first, he rescues her, and everything is reconciled between the five. :) However, Yumi finds out about Ulrich's relationship with Brynga soon after, slaps him hard on the cheek, and runs off, leaving him to apologize to her in the very last chapter.
**There is a reason I never added #1-7. The story was already complicated as it was, and I didn't want to intimidate or scare off anyone with the large word count. I would've eventually lost track of everything, and there would be many, many plot holes as a result. I decided to cut off what was necessary, so pleasepleaseplease respect my choices! :))
8. Laura Dies
I had this all typed out in Doc Manager, but it unfortunately exceeded the 90-day limit, resulting in its automatic deletion. Out of my own stupidity, I didn't have a backup copy in Google Docs, or in TextEdit. XD
Basically, in "Twisted Ways," Dashiel gets a last jab at Yumi, sending her to the ground. Once she has fallen, the guy runs up behind Laura, Yumi screams her name, and it's unfortunately too late. Laura gets stabbed in the midsection, coughs up blood, and falls to the ground. I remember it being very gruesome, for she dies with her eyes open.
Anyway, everyone, especially Jeremie, is too shocked to then notice Dashiel running to grab hold of the Puppet Master again. He gains control of Aelita, and... you know the rest. I wasn't in the mood to retype it, for I didn't like my writing style when I wrote it back then. It was also much too bloody for me to want to rewrite about, and I also doubt Dashiel finds use in killing random people.
9. Brynga's Attempted Suicide
Yes, I was apparently some crazy, bloodthirsty author who finds pleasure in killing her characters. I'm kidding, of course, but seriously—after all Brynga has been through, you'd expect her to want to kill herself! Seeing Odd injured with the bullet she shot, she is brought over the edge. This with the fact that neither the Kinimods or Eurasia's Army would accept her, and her past with Dominik literally breaks her. She points a knife at her chest, and announces it to everyone.
I didn't put this in for a couple of reasons, the first being identical to the previous deleted scene. Yes, I typed it up, but didn't have a backup copy. Plus, you've gotta admit that this suicide cliché is very, very overused. In fact, I just saw it in some Chinese drama my mother was watching. It would've been unnecessarily dragging the story along.
10. Song Fic Aspects
Yes, I considered making some parts like a song fic. For example, Ulrich and Yumi have their rooftop dance, and I incorporate "A Thousand Years" (by Christina Perri) as they vow their love to each other. Or, while they fight at headquarters in "Stopping Demolition," Ulrich and Brynga fight while "I Knew You Were Trouble" (by Taylor Swift) plays in my mind.
Cringe-worthy, yes? Hence "deleted scene." I was clearly more of a hopeless romantic back then. More than I am right now. And that's a lot. XD
Phew! Okay, so I somehow managed to compress it all to only ten main points. I just read through all my notes—and we're all good! ;)
So, some more trivia..
— The Puppet Master was inspired by a set of Teen Titans episodes I remember seeing, as they were concerning Terra with her trust issues and her final betrayal. See, if you're a hardcore Teen Titans fan, you'll notice that the chapter "The Puppet Master" resembles the scene where Slade controls Terra through the suit he gave her to wear. She almost kills Beast Boy against her own will! :O
— The fight between Yumi and Dashiel in the same chapter is near identical to the fight between Yumi and William in episode #68, "Opening Act."
— Brynga and Ulrich's relationship mentioned in deleted scene #1 was inspired by Justin and Rosie's relationship in "Wizards vs. Angels."
— Dashiel's name was chosen after a simple Google search. Somehow, it was at the top of a list for "hottest boy names,"—and I was completely unaware that the boy from "The Incredibles" was named this as well. I watched the movie, of course, but for some reason, I never really remembered the characters' names. It's spelled differently, yes, but still... XD
Author's Notes: I am very satisfied with this story, and it certainly will be my favorite as of now. ;) I've happily read through it countless of times, see (whenever I needed to refresh my memory)... and, surprisingly, never got bored of it (I'm throwing shade at you, "Rich Man, Poor Man!"). LOL.
A sequel has been suggested to me a couple of times... And, as much as I love this story, I've decided to end this series, unfortunately. Jeremie and Aelita are Queen and King, and Yumi and Ulrich are together, as well. Odd and Brynga's fate is up to the reader, but I intend for them to eventually fall in love. ;)
I really want to work on some new stuff, so look out for that. :)
I'm also deciding whether I should make a poll... I've narrowed down my story choices to just five... XD My plan is to probably publish a Jerlita, and an Ulumi, and possibly update them simultaneously. Crazy, yes, but it's only a thought, of course. :))
I think that's all I wanted to say... So, here marks the end of "Mission Interference"! :') Thanks for reading! :* I love you guys, and until my next fic, see you later! ;)
