The Forbidden Love Chapter 37

While all the scheming was being done at the Skull Cavern, everything at the Aqua Base was quite calm. With the deaths of both Olympus and Diabolico everyone there had been taking it easy. Unfortunately for them this time of relaxation was about to go and disappear on them again.

The Rangers were all relaxing in the rec room when Miss Fairweather came running in. She looked out of breath.

"What's up," asked Joel. "Is something wrong?"

"You guys have to come with me now," she said.

Carter got up from where he was sitting a moved towards her.

"What's wrong," he asked, concerned.

"Just come on," she said, gesturing at the door.

The Rangers exchanged a look before they all followed her out of there. They were practically running towards the control room.

"What's happening," said Dana.

"We've received a message," answered Miss Fairweather.

"From who," asked Kelsey.

"That's the thing, we don't know," said Miss Fairweather.

"What do you mean by that," said Chad.

"You'll see," she said.

They only reached the main control room in just a few minutes. The Commander was in there waiting for them to arrive.

"They're here," he said to the screen.

The Rangers came up behind him to see who he was talking to.

On the main screen was a lone figure. No one there could tell who it was. Whoever was facing them through this transmission had the shadows covering up their face, not wanting to be seen. Even looking carefully they couldn't find any distinguishing details. Carter moved in front of their entire group.

"Who are you? Why have you contacted us," he demanded.

"To warn you," answered the figure.

Everyone there noticed the same thing, whoever was on the other end was refusing to give their name.

"About what," pressed Carter.

"A trap has been placed inside your bas. Not that long ago after you had finished off Diabolico and Olympus, the one called Jinxer planted a Batling Card on one of your Zords. It can be activated at any moment. You must get to it and destroy it before that happens and you are overrun."

"Why are you telling us this," asked Carter, suspicious.

There was a pause.

"Because I no longer believe in Queen Bansheera's ideals. I don't want to live in a world that she would create," said the figure. "Good luck and hurry."

"Wait," shouted Ryan. "You still haven't told us who you are!"

But it was too late. The line holding up the connection was abruptly cut off.

There was a second of silence when none of them did anything. All of them turned to their leader.

"Should we believe her," asked Dana.

The Commander didn't do anything for a moment, but then he nodded his head.

Shocked looks appeared on all of their faces when he did this.

"But we don't even know who that was," said Miss Fairweather.

Joel said "She's right. How do we know fi what we were told is even the truth?"

"That's right, but it's still worth looking into," said the Commanders. "Go and check it out. Have a team help you look."

Carter nodded while the others still looked a bit doubtful and skeptical by it.

"You heard him," said Carter. "Let's go. Besides the sooner we do it the sooner we can get back to relaxing."

Now that got their feet moving. As they left the Commander turned to see Miss Fairweather.

"Go with them," he said. "See what you can do."

She nodded and followed the Rangers out, heading for the hanger where they kept all of their Zords together.

On my end I released a very big sigh. The encounters went much better than I had thought it would have gone originally. Thanks to the measures I had taken no one on the other side even had managed to recognize me at all. For now I thought it had been best that none of them realized who was actually giving them that warning. I was worried that given our past history they wouldn't have listened to me. That would definitely be their undoing so I just kept my identity a secret for the time being.

Right now I just hoped that I managed to get to them in time. Queen Bansheera would annihilate me if she found out about what I had just done especially after I had sworn my loyalty to her and the cause. That was a risk I was willing to take. If all went according to plan Queen Bansheera would be overthrown and no one would even know I had a part in it.

I placed my hand over my belly subconsciously starting to rub it over the child growing there.

"Don't you worry, Baby," I said, softly. "It'll be over soon."
