Since Nate's death, Patrick had made himself scarce as far as Sabrina was concerned. Generally, Patrick accepted that losing patients was a sad, but unavoidable consequence of working in medicine and tried not to take their deaths personally. However, Patrick couldn't seem to shake an immense sense of guilt over being unable to save Nathan. He had done everything he could to save Nate, but, in the end, it wasn't enough and he wouldn't be able to spare Sabrina the pain he experienced when Robin "died".

When Patrick arrived at the viewing with Emma (who refused to stay away for Sabrina and Nori's sake), he was amazed at the spectacle. He remembered how difficult it was for him to keep his composure the day of Robin's small service, so he couldn't imagine the willpower it was taking Sabrina to get through the large, public event. He wished so badly that he could be up there standing beside her and supporting her through it, but knew that it wasn't possible. Their failed wedding was the stuff of legend in Port Charles. How would it look to have her former fiance' standing next to her husband's casket with her? Thus, Patrick was glad she had Felix, Nate's brother Drew and her cousin Juan to lean on.

Sabrina lit up when she saw them and actually smiled a little when Emma went to sit next to Nori. Patrick had planned to just grab her hands in comfort, but, when he reached her, he couldn't help but pull her into a tight hug. He apologized again, but he knew it would never be enough.

After they broke apart, Patrick stood by the side aisle of the church, keeping an eye on Sabrina, Emma and Nori. Everything was going fine until Megan showed up. When Megan reached Sabrina, Patrick had to practically physically stop himself from running to the rescue. He was both proud at the way Sabrina handled the situation and furious at Megan for interfering. Who the hell did she think she was? What did she expect rubbing her crime in Sabrina's face would accomplish? If she thought Sabrina - or he - would roll over and play dead, she was wrong. As Sabrina threw her out, Patrick snuck to the back of the church to await her arrival. When Megan arrived, muttering to herself, he grabbed her arm to stop her from leaving. When she protested, he refused to let her go. "Not so fast," he said, as he squeezed her arm tightly. "Not until you and I have a little chat."

"Why the hell would I want to chat with you? Let me go, now, or else," Megan sneered.

"I'm going to say this once and I want you to listen. Stay the hell away from Sabrina - or else." Patrick sneered back.

Megan looked from his furious face to Sabrina and back to him and then smiled deviously. "Ahh, now I understand. You're in love with her. So, now that Nathan is dead and buried - well, almost - you're going to ride in on your white horse to protect Little Miss Perfect."

Patrick let go of Megan's arm. "Stay away from Sabrina and you and I will have no issues."

He had just turned to walk away when Megan commented. "Why do we have issues? Seems to me you should be thankful over the change in tides. Now that Nate is dead, you can have his wife all to yourself, just like that night she drove you home when your precious daughter was in the hospital."

Patrick stilled. "What are you talking about?"

"I know everything, Dr. Drake. I have eyes everywhere. My reach is also extensive, so it wouldn't do well for you to piss me off - or your daughter may not be quite so lucky next time."

"It was you…. You caused the accident, didn't you?"

Megan shrugged. "It was a warning that I hope your ex wife decides to heed. She and your lover are in over their heads with their little Nancy Drew investigation." Megan walked closer to Patrick and looked him dead in the eye. "Nathan was a cop, Dr. Drake. Do you think those amateurs stand a chance against me? More importantly, are you willing to put your daughter's life on the line to find out?" Patrick was fuming as Megan added. "You were the doctor that night, so you know exactly what I'm capable of."

Before Megan could continue, Patrick interrupted her. "Here's the thing, Megan, you have no idea what I'm capable of. The continued good health of the people I love is your life insurance policy." When she scoffed, he leaned in and whispered in a deadly tone, "I have nothing left to lose if they die. Is that a chance you want to take?"

As Megan processed his threat, Patrick backed away and straightened his suit jacket. "The service is starting. I trust you will find your way out."
