A/N: ok yall here it is. I have written 35 chapters now, yet I still do not own Inuyasha and Co.

Kagome POV

"Well look at who it is. Here all by herself. Your boy-toy left you already?" he taunted. Lazily he twirled the knife. I was really hoping he cut himself with the damn thing. See how he liked it. My body would not move despite the small voice that screamed at me to run away, get to the house and lock the door, kick him unconscious. Anything other than standing there like a scared child. Honestly if this was a horror movie I would be the dumb ass everyone is yelling at. The voice was doing just that actually. Oddly enough the voice sounded a lot like Toga.

Before I could clear my mind to make a move, whatever it was that may have ended up being, a hard fist landed straight to my gut. The air was knocked out of me, and I collapsed. I managed to dive into a tuck and rolled away as he sent a leg my way. He narrowly missed me. So I can keep up with Sesshomaru but a damn human man got a hit in? Yeah I don't get it either. As he recovered I ran for the steps, I didn't get very far. He grabbed me by the hair and I felt his blade slice slightly through my upper arm. Then as I turned he stabbed me in the shoulder. Finally I had enough, in a not as momentum filled as I would have liked, roundhouse kick I sent him sailing. And finally I made it to the stairs a few seconds later he was right behind me. Once at the bottom I fled as fast as I could which is fast but not as fast as his damn tricked out van. He grazed me with the damn thing, I felt my ribs crack. Also I was pretty sure I had internal damage. If I lived through this Inuyasha is gonna kill me.

With Sesshomaru at the shrine

The scent of blood hit him square in the face. Not just any blood, her blood. As fast as he was able he looked over the scene. As he finished Shippo, Souta, and the Higurashi adults walked up the stairs. Shippo also smelled the blood, he'd smelt it all the way at the bottom of the stairs. He quickly grew worried. Then he was filled with terror as he spotted Sesshomaru.

"Kit where is the miko?" he asked in his usual tone, his own concern not showing.

"I don't know we were out. What happened to my Mama?" the kit was nearly in tears.

"Hn. I do not know there is an unfamiliar scent mingled with hers. Do you know who's it is?" he inquired.

The small Kitsune focused all his abilities and sniffed. He easily identified it and he was not at all happy. He looked to the Lord in front of him and clearly stated his findings shocking everyone. "it's Grandma's intended Kai's scent. He hurt my Momma."

No one noticed as the small kits eyes for the second time in his life turned red. This time he had more control. And he and his beast came quickly to an agreement. Sesshomaru began speaking just then as Shippo tilted his head down covering his eyes from view.

"I shall retrieve her mate and inform him. He will find her. It is his duty as her mate." All agreed. No one mentioned cops as they knew this would turn ugly fast. Mrs. Higurashi felt heart crushing guilt at having brought that man to Kagome. It was a good thing that she did not yet know the whole story.

Sesshomaru sped through the well. The Higurashi's filed into the house Shippo scurried up the stairs and slammed the door to Kagome's room. Mama Higurashi thought he wanted to be surrounded by her scent as well as his Fathers. She let him be and did her best to console Souta and the three Higurashi's sat together in the living room and awaited Inuyasha.

In the Feudal Era

Sesshomaru sped as fast as he was able traveling with his orb. In this form it was easy and fast to find his brothers' pack. The tricky part was getting him to listen. About thirty yards away he stopped in front of the group all of which was geared up to fight. Were he prone to such acts he would have rolled his eyes.

"What are you doing here Sesshomaru?!" Inuyasha gruffed. His hand was on his sword.

"Your mate is in danger. You need to get to her time and find her." He told him.

"What are you talking about?" Inuyasha went pale. He said her "time" he shouldn't know about that.

"After you left she found me. She wanted to train. Apparently in her coma she was brought to our father in the nether world. He taught and trained her. She was not getting proper training so she thought at our Father's suggestion she come to me. Before all of this started I saw her by the well no one was with her. She smelt of blood, her own. She sprayed herself with some sort of mist and the scent of her blood and her fear were masked. Then she went to your village were she met with you all. I did not know why she was attacked or by who but now with the kit's help the attacker has been identified." He told him his eyes flashed. Inuyasha noticed this.

"Who was it? Who attacked my mate?!" He yelled.

"Her mother's intended. A man named Kai." He answered. Like a rocket Inuyasha shot off to the well. Sesshomaru morphed into his orb snatched up Inuyasha and they were off.
