It's the moment of truth
It's the moment to lie
And the moment to live
And the moment to die
The moment to fight
The moment to fight
To fight, to fight, to fight!
There are only five left in the Arena. Five Tributes. Two girls, and three boys. Two careers, two broken alliances, and one survivor living on luck and opportunity. There are four chances. But, who, they wonder, will make it out alive.
Each Tribute has lost something. Each Tribute has something to win for.
For Alice Castalia, losing her allies. She'd win to honor them, and win to move far away from her family, into a new and better life.
For Thames Bass, losing opportunities and having to kill when not wanting to. If he won, he'd survive get home. Home to Thea. And maybe, after today, he wouldn't have to kill anymore.
Ivan Collins could win. Though not as confident with a lot less training, Ivan has a family to get home to, his little sister and his best friends, and he can also avenge his Alley.
Rowan Oleander has a life he needs to live! He hasn't done anything wrong and has lost Keri already. He should get home.
And Sierna Orchan has been probably the only sane Career in these whole Games. She has lost all of her Allies aside from Thames and feels extremely homesick. Doesn't she have a good enough reason to win?
It's anyone's game now. As the Careers plot, some may join forces. Some may run and wait for all the others to be gone. And some might get right there in the action. All have reasons to win, and all may.
Alice Castalia is angry. She has always been angry, but now, she is exceptionally upset. Her allies deaths have only been days apart from each other, and they expect her to be calm? It was almost like they were trying to anger her. Trying to rally her up so that she could win. Was it a sign? Well, Alice was sure as hell going to take it as a sign. Even if she didn't win, she was going to cause some hell, and make some people pay. Even if the person who killed Aurora was dead, she was going to make them all pay. She didn't even care about the killing part anymore. They had killed her allies, so she was going to kill theirs.
Thames and Sierna almost want people to come at them. Or, they want these Games to end. Neither of them were really the seriously bloodthirsty type. Between all the Careers, aside from Jemima, Thames and Alice really were the calmest, and possibly the most sane. Together, both wanting to get home, perhaps they could be unstoppable. But, how will they react if it is just them left?
Rowan doesn't expect to win. But, he expects to at least live passed some people. He has for this long, anyway.
Ivan is scared. But at the same time, he is confident for the first time in these whole Games. Maybe his fear built a barrier around him that can only grow as people come after him. He has to kill, and even though that is terrifying, he knows he has to. If he wants to even keep his neck, Ivan has to use his fear to its advantage, and win.
Thames and Sierna walk across the sand. The Cornucopia itself is practically on fire! If they aren't careful, this might be how they die. Burning to death. Just like that boy did the night before. It's the Cornucopia to fear right now. Almost everywhere else is okay. Now, they're trying to send Thames and Sierna away from the Cornucopia. To be robbed, probably, or worse! They could die out here! There is that barbarian archer, the terrifying non-Career girl, and the one who has been quiet these whole games, that made Sierna feel uneasy. She hadn't seen him, but the number of times the Canon has fired has only been nineteen times. There were five left! One of the people, Sierna wouldn't even recognize. She should have paid more attention during the Training Days.
As for Thames, he once caught sight of the younger boy. He is the youngest person left in the Arena. He was quiet during the Training Days, and continued to be quiet during the whole Games. Is he hiding something? Thames doesn't know. But he'd like to kill the child before he finds out.
Sparks start to fly everywhere, beginning to terrify Rowan out of his hiding place. Luckily, he wasn't anywhere in ear shot of or sight of the two Careers, but, unluckily, he was in sight of Ivan Collins.
Ivan felt sick to his stomach, seeing the child. But again, fear was driving him. He wasn't going to be wobbly, he wasn't going to hide, and he wasn't going to wait for Lizer to kill the child for him. Ivan had to do it by himself, no matter how gross it felt. He didn't actually like killing, but after seeing a person he may have even cared about die like that, seeing how brutal it was, watching her blood soak into the sand, Ivan has been scarred. Now, sadly, he has to do some more scarring, now finally being able to. Like the Arena all around him, Ivan felt sparks.
Ivan lifted his arrow, and shot Rowan. Rowan hadn't even been paying attention. He was trying to hide from the fire. Rowan looked around at the wrong moment, letting out a loud scream as the arrow hit his chest. Probably no one had even heard Rowan's voice in this Arena. Rowan hadn't spoke up the whole time. He was trying to live in this Arena, but sadly, when this is the setting, Rowan never would have been able to.
Luckily, Rowan probably was the happiest person in the Arena. At least, before he died, he had at least a chance at something normal. He had more than all of them; he had a decent time.
BOOM!
The Canon shook the whole Arena, making Ivan's head drop. One small tear trickled down his cheek, again in fear. Blood on the boy's chest...now permanent blood staining Ivan's hands. Blood. Everywhere. Blood and fire. Was that was the Games were about? Because at this point, that felt like the only thing Ivan knew. And he hates it. He didn't like how it was changing him. He didn't like how he was killing. Was he broken? Well, broken wasn't the way he'd put it. More like, he was burning.
Suddenly, Ivan is pulled out of mind and into the real world, when he smells smoke and burning flesh. It takes over his whole nose, making him cough and wheel around to get away from the disgusting smell. After a minute, he realizes that the body that is burning was the child that he killed. His body was on fire! How did that happen?! Well, Ivan can barely feel the heat anymore. He is used to it.
The fire burns the whole body, and catches onto a tree. Ivan picks up his bow, his arrows already on his back, and begins to run. But, carrying that much wood during an Arena like this is a bad idea. The sun itself could burn you when you stand there to long. The sun is blinding. Even at night time, you can see perfectly. Heck, the sun never even goes down all the way!
Ivan's back catches fire. Ivan screams, throwing his arrows off his back and dropping his bow. His back aches, even though the fire is gone. The smoke gets in his eyes and fills his mouth, and Ivan is temporarily blinded. He runs without sight, trying to escape the fire that he knows is everywhere. Trying to hunt him down. Making him terrified. Everything in this Arena is already terrifying him. There isn't one aspect of the Arena that didn't scare Ivan. Even Lizer scared Ivan a little bit, but that kind of scary he didn't mind.
Running without looking where you're going is a terrible idea. Ivan knows it, but he has to get away somehow, no matter the cost. But the cost wasn't nice.
When he gets his vision back, he bumps into a tree. He bumps into it so hard that he falls onto his back. The top of the tree is burning, and the branches break off with that extra tug. Ivan barely has enough time to get up. He stands up, and takes a few steps away, but the branches that are falling, and the pain in his body, is to much to carry.
The burning branches fall on top of him, crushing him under them. No matter how many times he pushes them off or tries to break away, they keep falling. Ivan is trapped. Trapped under burning branches.
"Help!" He screams, in his last attempt. "Help me, please!" But the only person who could help him is dead.
Well, maybe he'll get to see her.
BOOM!
The second Canon shakes Alice Castalia up. There are only three left...her, and two Careers. Two people who hate her. She had first not joined them, and then ended up killing the head of their back. Now, Alice was running for her life from fire and two Careers.
She knows it is the Careers. She had heard them talking just minutes ago through some bushes. So, unless they had gotten fed up with each other and killed the other, Alice was sure that it was those two. But someone had just died. Died somewhere close to her. Alice feels sick. She wants this to be over. She doesn't want to be here anymore. But she promised Hex that she wouldn't give up, and she isn't going to.
Behind her, Alice hears a footstep. Though, it is somewhat muffled by the sand, Alice can hear it perfectly. Alice turns, her bow and arrow already in hand. She sees Thames Bass of District One. This makes Alice uneasy.
"Get out or I'll shoot you," Alice threatens, though is obviously scared.
"Alice, isn't it?" Thames asks. "You know, you're pretty cute when you're shaking."
"I'm not shaking!" Alice says, though it just makes her shake more.
"There's no need to be afraid. I'm not gonna hurt you. I know neither of us want to hurt anyone," Thames says. Alice is confused.
"Than why are you here?" She asks, letting her bow drop a little
"I was just wondering if you'd like to help me take down Sierna. And once she's gone, we can let nature do the rest," Thames says. Alice steadies her bow, a glare now on her face.
"That isn't the sound of someone who doesn't want to hurt anyone," She says. "I'd rather you just attack me than lie to me and try to manipulate me. I get that enough already, thanks."
"I won't hurt you," Thames says. "You haven't done anything but things I would have done if I had gotten there first. Sierna, on the other hand, has done a few things that has annoyed me. I like you. Besides, you're kind of cuter than she."
"Come off it," Alice spits. "If you say one more word, I'm going to shoot you."
"Fast, aren't you? And feisty! I like that," Thames grins.
"Stop. Get out now, if you want to survive the next few minutes," Alice says, her bow ready. Thames drops his weapon, and kicks it away.
"See? I don't want to hurt you. I'm offering you something. Like, a partnership. I won't kill you if you won't kill me," Thames says.
"Why would you do that when there are only three people left?!" Alice cries. "You're just having some fun before you try to kill me. Believe me, I know your type."
"I don't want to kill anyone. The only reason I don't really want Sierna around is because I know she's after me. Look, I got her really angry this morning, and I'm coming to you for help. Please, Alice!"
"You want help? On the last day, too?"
"Yes!" Thames says. His eyes are pleading, and Alice can't help but have a little pity for him. She doesn't want anyone else to die. She is reminded of Hex just by looking at him, and she can't abandon anyone else.
Maybe she knows he is going to betray her, but she doesn't really care. She doesn't want to win, anyway. She drops her bow.
"Fine. I'll hide you for a few hours, or at least try to help you," Alice says. Thames grins at her, running up and picking her up in a big embrace. Alice lets out a yelp.
"Thank you! Thank you so much!" Thames says.
"I'm not...much of a hugger..." Alice says, as he puts her down.
"Yeah, neither am I," Thames says, pulling a knife out of his pocket and stabbing her through the heart. "But than again, Alice, nothing will stop me on my road to Victory." Alice sighs.
"I knew it..." She says, falling back, tears beginning to stain her cheeks. She knew this would happen. She knew for a fact that he would betray her. She knew there was no possible chance that he was actually meaning what he was saying. She looked him in the eyes and she knew he was lying to her. So many lies...so why did she let him hurt her? Maybe because she had been letting people hurt her her whole life.
For once in Alice's life, she doesn't want to die.
BOOM!
Sierna takes in a deep breath. Now it's either between her and Thames or her and Alice. Sierna is shaking. She isn't confident at all, and she isn't calm. She had made it to the final two. It may be against a friend, or an enemy. It some ways, Sierna hopes it is against her enemy. She doesn't want to have to kill someone she likes. Someone who has been pleasant during this whole Game, even if she didn't like the flirting. She'd rather have it that if they die, it wasn't by her hands.
But the person who steps into her view is not the person Sierna wants to see. It's Thames Bass. Her friend, or, one of the closest people who can be your friend in this sort of Arena.
Sierna feels sick now, and it takes her a minute to recover. When she does, she takes in a deep breath, and readies her dagger. She has to do it.
Thames looks at her, and he also feels sick. Sierna hasn't done anything to him. She's also fairly younger than him. And he has had to kill Thea's. He has had to kill so many Thea's, and he doesn't want to kill an Honora. Was he ready to do that? Well, he just killed one anyway.
No matter what Thames puts in his mind, he sees his family in front of him. Every time he has to kill, he sees someone he loves, and it hurts, but if he wants to get home, get to Victory, he has to kill. Kill them. Kill her.
"Thames," Sierna says. Thames looks up, making eye contact with her, which makes Sierna uneasy. "Look, lets go back to the Cornucopia. I don't want to do this in the middle of no where. I don't want...either of our deaths to be unpleasant." She said either because she knew she had to try to gain his trust a little. Maybe it would make him uneasy about killing her. Sierna doesn't like manipulating people, but if it means that she survives, she knows she has to. Thames nods his head. The blood on Thames's hands burn his flesh, or, that's how it feels. Thames follows her.
They don't say anything as they walk to the Cornucopia. Sierna has to avoid crying. She trusts Thames. She trusted everyone in the pack, even if she knew that sometime they would have to hurt her. But right now, she just can't help but trust Thames. He hasn't hurt her at all this whole time. They hadn't really killed many. Thames had killed two, and Sierna had killed one. But, the only time it was hard for Thames was when he killed the younger girl. It wasn't hard for Sierna to kill the older girl. Would it be hard to kill Thames?
Well, she knew him. Of course it will be.
Will be it be hard for Thames to kill Sierna? She doesn't know. And neither does he.
When they reach the Cornucopia, Sierna is ready with her dagger. She starts toward him, kicking him first and trying to stab him quickly. Thames falls onto his back, but avoids getting stabbed by rolling on his back and kicking her out from under her feet. Sierna would've been stabbed with her own knife if she hadn't thrown it towards him. The end hit him in the chest. Sierna turned onto her back, trying to sit up, but Thames was already on top of her
"I wanted this to be fast...I didn't want to see you suffer...you were always my favorite..." Thames says, picking up her dagger and cutting alongside her ear. Sierna gasps in pain.
"Screw off," Sierna says, spitting in his eye and shoving him off.
"Ow!" Thames cries in surprise. Sierna scrambles as fast as she can away. Her ear aches and blood is running to her head, giving her a massive headache. She crawls fast alongside the Cornucopia, just trying to get away, when he grabs her leg. Sierna screams.
"Get off!" She yells, trying to kick him, but he blocks it. He has his own Rapier, and it trying to cut off her foot now. Sierna grabs the first thing she finds and smashes it on his head. Several times.
"Wait, Sierna!" He cries. She hits him one more time in the head.
BOOM!
Sierna looks down at what is in her head. It's a brick, but not just any brick, it's Apple Jemal. Though Sierna is crying at his point, having bleeding cuts on her leg, her wrists sore and a damaged ear she's probably deaf in, she can't help but laugh a little. It's like a gift from Marissa.
She sits still for a minute, staring at Thames' body. His face is unrecognizable. It makes Sierna feel like she's about to vomit.
"Oh my gosh..." She whispers. "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, Thames..."
Tears are streaming down her face, making lines from the sand that has been sticking to her face. Sierna almost does vomit, when she realizes:
She's the only one left. She's won.
"Ladies and gentleman!" Hilda Flickerman's voice shouts through the Arena, making Sierna jump. "May I announce to you the Thirty Seventh Hunger Games Victor, Sierna Orchan!"
Sierna drops the brick. Relief, grief, and sadness all wash over her. She is the Victor, but it doesn't feel good.

Benzy Boyd of District Eleven. Killed by a Trident used by Clinch Moran (Benzy was such an adorable Tribute, but he was mine, and just a spot to fill. He really wasn't that important, and I know not many people will miss him. I expect Aurora and I will be the only ones. Goodbye, Benzy) Placed 22nd

Ethan Talore of District Two. Killed by a dagger used by Marissa Fowler (Jemima and Alice were the only ones who liked you aside from me. I know none of my readers enjoyed you, but oh gosh Ethan, I loved writing you so much. You may have been my Tribute, but I loved you. Goodbye, Ethan,) Placed 20th.

Hans Bjorgman of District Nine. Killed my Keri Glazer's dagger. (Hans was an awkward, sweet character. But I know not many people liked him, so I know not many people will be sad to see him go. Goodbye, Hans.) Placed 14th.
Keri Glazer Of District Eight. Killed by the Geysers. (Keri was a great, sharp character. She was admittedly one of my favorites, but someone had to die today, and sadly, Keri was one of them. Goodbye, Keri. I loved writing for you.) Placed 13th.
Marissa Fowler Of District Six. Killed by Ares Coriander Jr. (I loved Marissa! She brought a lot of spite to these Games. I thought that she was wonderful, but sadly, I have to let her go. Goodbye, Marissa.) Placed 12th.
Ayalin Azure of District Ten. Killed by the Geysers. (I really, really cared for Aya. Though sadly, not many others did. I wanted to hang onto her for as long as I could, but I didn't succeed. Her Submitter also abandoned her. Goodbye, Aya.) Placed 11th.
Lizereth Green of District Twelve. Killed by Clinch Morran, using her axe. (Lizer was SUCH an amazing character. She was one of my personal favorites. But I knew I needed to kill her. It would start something bigger. I'm so sorry for letting her die, since I loved her very, very much. Farewell, Lizer) Placed 10th.
Clinch Morran of District Four. Killed by Ivan Collins, by his arrows. (I wanted Clinch to go out with a bang. During this chapter, I didn't even think about killing Clinch! It was a last moment idea. I'm very sad I took it, though. Clinch was a brilliant character. I wish I could have given him more justice, having the most amazing and detailed form, but at least he went out with a bang. Goodbye, Clinch.) Placed 9th.
Aurora Spring of District Eleven. Killed by Ares Coriander Jr. (I regret killing Aurora at it's fullest. If her submitter hadn't written to me about her possible death, Aurora never would have died. Aurora would have been my Victor. I loved her very, very much, and I wished she could have gone on longer. Goodbye, Aurora.) Placed 8th.
Ares Coriander Jr of District Five. Killed by Alice Castalia's arrows. (Ares was amazing! I never got to give justice to his backstory, so maybe I'll write him better at his Funeral. I did love Ares, and he could have easily won, but in the way it turned out, it couldn't. Goodbye, Ares.) Placed 7th.
HexHeliot of District Ten. Burned to death. (Hex was a great Tribute from start to finish. He was an amazing friend to both Aurora and Alice, and I'm not sure what they'll do without him. I wish I could have done more with him! Goodbye, Hex.) Placed 6th.

Alice Castalia of District Two. Killed by Thames Bass. (Alice was definitely a fan favorite, and I loved her very much, but she wouldn't have ever won. She didn't want to. But she was such a good, fantastic Tribute who was one of the real heroes in this. Goodbye, Alice.) Placed 3rd.
Thames Bass of District One. Killed by Apple Jemal. (Thames was one of the best Careers! I thought he was such a good Tribute, one of the realest Tributes I received. He was great, and he will be missed. Goodbye, Thames.) Placed 2nd.
Victor:
Sierna Orchan of District Four. (Sierna took me by surprise, but I don't regret my decision. Maybe it was because not many people were voting for her, or maybe it was because she was just a good Tribute who did deserve it. Sierna was great. Sierna was the only sane Career. I truly believe she was the right decision. Well done, Sierna!) Placed 1st.
AN. And here we are. The last Arena chapter ever. I'm going to have a few more chapters, like, an interview with the Victor, a Tributes Memorials, and Funerals Part one and two. I might even do the Victors Life if anyone is interested, but after that, I'm afraid it's over. So, thank you everyone who has been here with me. I can't believe it's already over. I have really loved this story and I hate to see it end, but it's not over yet! I'm sorry to everyone who has lost their Tribute today. I had loved every single one of them, and I will miss them all so much. And with that, I give you questions, and goodnight.
