S3 EP11: Demon in the rough

Yo. Coming to you after I stopped yet another alien invasion. This time, I had some early morning hero work to do.

A train was speeding down the tracks at a ridiculous speed. Inside, people were being held hostage by some guys with ski masks and guns. The people were all in their knees with their hands behind their heads.

Crook: "Alright, everyone empty their pockets and nobody gets hurt." The hostages all emptied their pockets and gave it all to the crooks. Suddenly, the gun was pulled out of the crook's hand.

Crook: "What the fuck?!" He turned around and saw me as Web Head.

Web Head: "Really, robbing a train? The old west called, they want their crime back."

Crook 2: "It's Arsenal, blast the freak!" They aimed their weapons at me, but I shot webbing into the gun barrels, jamming them. I smirked and they dropped the guns, then ran at me. I became Kickin Hawk and got in a fighting stance. One of them came at me but I ducked under his punch and kicked him in the stomach, knocking him back. The other one picked his gun back up and pulled the webbing off, then fired rounds at me. I blocked all the bullets with the talons on my elbows, then glowed red. I became the same species as Xylene (Max's first love), except I was a boy and was wearing a red jumpsuit with the Ultimatrix symbol on my chest.

Trey: "This looks like a job for Ventrilosquid." The crook fired some more, but I used my telekinesis to stop the bullets in mid air, then ran up and roundhouse kicked the crook in the jaw, knocking him out cold.

Ventrilosquid: "Next time you guys wanna rob a train, spring for some horses." I used my powers to untie the hostages and they all cheered. I took a few bows. A girl started clapping the loudest. She looked about 19, African American, brown hair and green eyes.

Girl: "Arsenal, you're so cool!" She got all close to me, a little too close.

Ventrilosquid: "Uh, thanks. I, um, gotta go." I levitated myself out of the train window.

Girl: "It's okay, my alien beloved, I know where you're headed."

Later that day, we were all at the Armory, like usual. Logan, Charity and I were in the living room. Logan was reading a comic book and I was on the floor, between Charity's legs. She was on the couch, braiding my hair into cornrows. I had washed the dye out and my mowhawk had grown back into an afro so Charity volunteered to braid it. While she did that, I was on Instagram.

Trey: "Aw look, my mom is in Italy." I held my phone up so she could see. She smiled.

Charity: "Where did she get the travel funds, anyway?"

Trey: "I may have called in a favor from the Plumbers."

Logan: "Cashing in on the hero favors, huh? Sweet."

Charity: "Don't you miss her, babes?" I shrugged, causing her to slap my head and tell me to stay still.

Trey: "Yeah, I miss her. But I'd rather her be havingfun than be stuck in some crazy house."

Charity: "Yeah..."

Trey: "What's wrong, babes?"

Charity: "It's just that, you got to meet your mom and show her how cool you've become and Logan got at least some closure with his dad."

Logan: "He almost killed us."

Trey: "Technically, he did kill me."

Charity: "REGARDLESS, you guys know where your parents are. I haven't even met mine." She finished with my hair and handed me a mirror. I smiled and nodded my head. The cornrows were the big ones. Then, I gave Charity an understanding look.

Trey: "I feel you, babe. Maybe we can find some info on her with the Lair computer."

Charity: "But, I've tried that already. Even with my bionics, I can't hack the government's files." I glowed and became Brainstorm.

Brainstorm: "That, my dear mate, is before you had the help of your super intelligent boyfriend. Let us go, at once." I crab walked toward the Lair.

Logan: "I hate that form." Charity giggled and followed after me.

Meanwhile, that girl from the train had just arrived at the orphanage. She walked up the stairs and up to the front desk. Mr. Terry looked up.

Terry: "Essence, is that you?" The girl smiled and nodded.

Essence: "How ya been, Mr. Terry?"

Terry: "Same old, except I can finally get some rest now that the trinity has been adopted."

Essence: "Whoa, Trey, Logan AND Charity got adopted? Who would be dumb enough to adopt all three of them?" He chuckled.

Terry: "Some guy named Max Tennyson. He took them on a road trip this summer and I guess he grew fond of them."

Essence: "So...Charity is gone?.."

Terry: "I'm sorry, Essence. But, she lives in town. Maybe you can set up a date to hang out."

Essence: "Yeah, that sounds-" She was cut off by a loud noise from outside. Her and Terry ran out to see a skeleton with a flaming skull, wreaking havoc.

Skeleton: "The hellspawns, I seek the hellspawns!"

Essence: "Oh, no." She ran off.

Terry: "Essence, wait!"

Back with us, I had successfully hacked the government's files and was searching them with Charity.

Trey: "This is some bullshit. How are there no records of anyone named Jennings besides you?"

Charity: "Maybe they changed their names." I shook my head.

Trey: "Even so, there'd be records of a name change. But, there's nothing." She sighed.

Charity: "It's ok, babes, thanks for trying. Besides, I have you and the others and you guys are the only family I need." I smiled and we kissed. Suddenly, the danger alarm blared. Charity pulled up some footage on the computer and it showed Matt fighting some kind of skeleton with a flaming skull.

Trey: "What the hell did Matt get into, now?!"

Charity: "Whatever it is, you and Logan should probably get down there." I nodded and pecked her on the lips, then headed to the living room. Logan was already in costume.

Logan: "Are you sure we can't let Matt get his ass kicked, just this once?" I chuckled and became Biohazard.

Biohazard: "Afraid not, bro. He's actually trying to protect the city. In his own special way." We dove out of the Armory and I grabbed his hand, then started flying to the scene of the fight.

Matt charged at the skeleton, but was easily slammed into a car by him.

Matt: "Kakarot, of all the times to be late, you choose now." He picked up the car and flung it at the skeleton, nailing him spot on. The skeleton got up and pulled a chain from around his waist, then used it to slash Matt across the face. Matt suddenly burst into flames and was sent flying into the air. He started falling, but was caught by me.

Biohazard: "Gotcha." I flew around in a circle to put his fire out, then landed and sat him and Logan down.

Matt: "About time!"

Logan: "We came as soon as we could, calm down!"

Matt: "I don't even know why you bothered to show up. Do you honestly think your feeble arm and leg or your arrows are any help to us?" Logan actually looked hurt. I was about to say something, when I noticed the skeleton was in front of us.

Biohazard: "Guys, let's focus on the bad guy."

Skeleton: "Where are the hellspawns?!"

Logan: "The what?"

Matt: "He's been saying that since I found him."

Skeleton: "Hellspawns!" I rolled my eyes and nailed him with a boo-yah blaster.

Biohazard: "Shut the fuck up." He recovered and roared, then moved at an incredible speed and grabbed me by the neck. His hands were hot as fuck! I became KaBoom and exploded, then reformed and shot my hands out to sock him in the face. The hands melted on impact, so Logan shot an electric arrow at him. The arrow stunned him for a second, giving Matt the chance to kick him toward me. He flew toward me and I became Splashdown and blasted him toward Logan with a huge water blast. Logan socked him in the face with his bionic arm and he went flying into the side of a building. When the skeleton recovered, his head was on backwards.

Splashdown and Logan: "Gross." He turned his head back around and powered up, then shot chain arms at us. I went Frightmare and countered them with my own chains, but Matt and Logan got tied up by some.

Logan and Matt: "AHHHHHH!"

Frightmare: "What's wrong?"

Logan: "The chains are burning us! So hot!" I became Ghostfreak and phased them through the chains, then became Water Hazard and slapped the skeleton with some water whips. He didn't show any signs of discomfort and shot actual flaming daggers from his eyes. I yelped and ducked under them. Then, I glowed and transformed into an alien that resembled the Flash, except my whole body was snow white and I had gold lightning bolts on the side of my head. My eyes also turned golden. The Ultimatrix symbol was in my chest.

Trey: "Let's see how you handle Godspeed." He launched more daggers at me, but I started zooming around him in a circle, creating a trail of lightning behind me. I stopped and grabbed the lightning, then hurled it at the skeleton. It hit him spot on and he fell to the ground, seizuring from the shock. I zoomed over and stood over him. Logan and Matt came over too.

Logan: "What kind of alien or mutant is this?"

Voice: "It's neither, it's much worse." We turned around and saw the girl I saved in the train, earlier.

Godspeed: "Worse? What do you know about this?" Logan elbowed me. I glared at him.

Logan: "Arsenal, a word?" We walked away a bit.

Godspeed: "What's up?"

Logan: "Don't you know who that is, dude?" I looked at the girl, then back at him.

Godspeed: "No."

Logan: "That's Essence, the girl who used to hang around the orphanage all the time." My eyes got wide and I looked at her.

Godspeed: "Holy shit, you're right! But, what does she have to do with this?" Suddenly, the ground started to rumble.

Matt: "Um, guys!" The skeleton suddenly rocketed himself up and transformed into some kind of horned monster! I zoomed over and stood next to Matt and Essence.

Godspeed: "What the hell does that thing want?"

Essence: "Me." We all looked at her.

Logan: "Why would a skeleton creature want you?" She sighed and I suddenly felt a powerful aura come from her. Her skin turned completely black and her eyes turned pink. She grew fangs, a jagged edge cloak and a strange symbol on her chest.

Essence: "Because...I'm a hellspawn." She flew up to the creature and shot out some green energy at it, causing it to snarl and burn. He tried to grab her, but she phased through his hand and then turned her cloak into cannons and fired green energy bursts, knocking the creature back.

Matt: "You guys know her?"

Godspeed: "Thought we did." I zoomed up a building and launched more lightning at the creature, causing his attention to turn to me. He brought his fist down to smash me, but I jumped up and zoomed up his arm, then kicked his face at high speed. Essence wrapped the creature's arms up with her cloak and I vibrated my body at a high frequency, causing the creature to completely evaporate into shadows. I zoomed down and stood next to the others.

Logan: "Wicked job, Arsenal!" Essence landed in front of us.

Essence: "I agree. We make a pretty good team, my beloved. Maybe we could work together on more...private things." She got way too close to me. I zoomed away from her.

Godspeed: "Sorry, but I'm currently seeing someone. Thanks for the offer, though." She suddenly got pissed. Her aura turned black.

Essence: "YOU'RE DATING SOMEONE?!" I gulped.

Godspeed: "Sorry." She calmed down.

Essence: "It's fine." I looked at the others.

Godspeed: "Well, thanks for the help, monster girl. Come on, guys." I became Astrodactyl and flew up to the Armory, followed by Matt, carrying Logan.

Essence: "Oh, no, you're not escaping that easy, my love..."

Back at the Armory, Charity was still trying to find some information on her family with the Lair computer. Suddenly, I phased in as Makeshift, holding Matt and Logan.

Makeshift: "Chare, you'll never believe what just happened."

Charity: "What?" I reverted to normal.

Logan: "Remember your friend, Essence? She turned into a monster and helped Trey beat the skeleton thing."

Charity: "Get the fuck outta here. Essence is an alien?"

Voice: "As I told Arsenal, I'm NOT an alien." Essence phased in as her monster form, then turned back to normal. Our eyes got wide, except for Charity.

Charity: "Essence!" She ran over and hugged Essence, which she returned.

Essence: "Hey, girly. Been a while."

Charity: "Hell yeah, it's been 3 years! Where'd you go?"

Essence: "I think that will be clear once I explain. But first, I must admire something."

Trey: "And, what is that?" She gave me a flirty smile.

Essence: "You, Mr. Superhero. Who would've thought that little Tremaine would grow up to be Arsenal?" I chuckled, nervously.

Trey: "How'd you find out?"

Essence: "Quite simple, actually. She walked over and pulled up my sleeve, revealing my Ultimatrix muscle, "This symbol is always on Arsenal and you're always wearing this on your wrist. I also just saw you turn back to normal."

Matt: "So, you know who Kakarot is, mind telling us who you are?" He actually smirked at her. He never smirks, he barely changes his facial expression from pissed off.

Essence: "You may want to sit down for this." We did and she continued, "I'm not an alien or a mutant, I'm something much more dangerous. I'm a demon. My whole family is, in fact. I come from a long line of beings that are cursed with Mephisto energy."

I raised my eyebrow.

Trey: "Seriously? That's kinda hard to believe."

Logan: "Treez, you're an alien. That's as hard to believe as anything." I shrugged.

Essence: "Anyway, my family was cursed when my father sold his soul to Mephisto, which gradually turned him into a herald of Mephisto's energy. My mother became infected during sex with my father and I was infected when I was born, along with my sister."

Matt: "So, that creature was after you?" Essence nodded.

Essence: "You see, after my father died, Mephisto needed someone else to fulfill his bidding. My mother disappeared so that left me and my sister. Mephisto must've sent that creature to find us."

Trey: "Then, we should find your sister and protect her."

Essence: "That won't be necessary, handsome. She's sitting right next to you." Our eyes got wide and I turned to Charity.

Charity: "M-me? But, that's impossible. You can't be my sister, I can't be a demon..." Essence walked over to her and kneeled in front of her.

Essence: "Charity, mom and dad left you on that doorstep to keep you safe. They didn't need the curse interfering with your normal life." Charity shook her head.

Charity: "You're lying!" Essence pulled up her shirt and we saw a weird symbol. Charity gasped, "You have that birthmark too!" She pulled up her sleeve and we saw that same symbol.

Essence: "It's the mark of Mephisto. Everybody in our family has it. Mom and dad told me to look after you, which is why I always hung around the orphanage. I was waiting for the right moment to reveal our sisterhood." Charity suddenly hugged Essence again, crying.

Charity: "After all this time, my family was right in front of me." Essence let go and Charity continued, "Now I have a sister, my best friends, and an awesome boyfriend."

Essence: "Boyfriend? Wait..." She pointed to me and Charity nodded.

Essence: "What the fuck?! How could you do this to me?!"

Trey, Charity, Matt and Logan: "Huh?!"

Essence: "I've been in love with Arsenal for months and you just decide to date him! What kind of sister are you?!"

Trey: "Hold the fuck up! Charity and I have been in love for years, even before I was Arsenal." Essence smirked.

Essence: "Well, that's all gonna end, right now."

Logan: "What do you mean?"

Essence: "I mean, Trey and Charity are gonna break up." I chuckled.

Trey: "And, what makes you think that's happening?"

Essence: "Oh, nothing. Just the fact that if you don't break up, the whole entire world will know that Trey Sergauson is the Extraordinary Arsenal."

Trey: "You wouldn't."

Essence: "Try me." Charity suddenly pulled me to the side.

Charity: "Babe, we have to do what she says."

Trey: "What?! But, we just got back together!"

Charity: "Trey, she's gonna reveal who you are. If that happens, you'll never hear the end of it. Your safety is more important than my selfish feelings for you."

Trey: "But-" She kissed me.

Charity: "I love you, Trey." She walked off. I sighed and walked back over to the others.

Trey: "You win." Essence smiled.

Essence: "Of course. Now, there's a party at the park tonight and you, Mr. Hero, are going with me." I shrugged.

Trey: "Whatever."

Essence: "Good. Oh, and invite Charity, she's gonna enjoy this." She walked away.

Trey (mumbling): "Bitch."

Essence: "HEARD THAT!" I sighed and Logan patted my back.

Later that night, Essence and I were at the park. She was dancing, but I just stood there.

Essence: "C'mon, Trey, dance! I want you to have fun!" I raised my eyebrow.

Trey: "Really? Because, the way I see it, if you wanted me to have fun, you would've let me come here with the person I wanted to."

Essence: "And, who would that be?"

Trey: "Charity. Your sister. My fucking girlfriend!" We looked over and saw Charity sitting at a table, by herself. Essence smirked.

Essence: "Really? Because, the last time I checked, she wasn't your girlfriend anymore, babe." I bared my fangs.

Trey: "Don't call me that!"

Essence: "Ohh, testy, I like it. You may wanna calm down there, hero. Unless you want everyone to know you're a certain shapeshifter." I growled, but calmed down anyway.

Meanwhile, Charity was still by herself. She watched Essence flirt and touch me, despite my best efforts to push her away.

Charity: "Stupid Essence, taking MY fucking boyfriend. This is what I get for asking for a fucking sister." She got more irritated and a green mist came from her eyes. Her bionic eye also flashed red.

Essence: "Cut the shit, Trey. Let's get to kissing." She leaned in, but was suddenly cut off by a hole opening up in the ground. Out came a giant red creature with horns, fangs, claws and wings.

Trey: "Thank God! Oh, I mean...holy shit, it's a demon creature!" The people all screamed and tried to run away, but the demon created a flaming gate so nobody could escape. Charity ran over to us.

Charity: "Guys, this demon is fucking everything up."

Essence: "That's not just any demon. That's Mephisto." Mephisto roared, breathing flames, then looked down at us. He smirked.

Mephisto: "Essence, you finally found your way back to me. And you brought your sister! The two hellspawns, together again." I chuckled.

Trey: "What am I, chopped liver?" He looked at me.

Mephisto: "You must be Arsenal, the so-called protector of the earth. Well, , this should really burn you up!" He shot a purple blast at the ground, causing a sinkhole in the ground. The sinkhole created a tornado, which started to destroy the park. I gritted my teeth. I needed to help, but I can't transform in front of all these people. Essence looked at me.

Essence: "You gonna do something?" I shook my head.

Trey: "I have a secret identity to protect, remember?" She chuckled.

Essence: "So, you're so afraid of these people judging you that you'll let them die? HA, some hero." She transformed into her demon form and flew up to Mephisto, then opened up her cloak and shot ice at him. He laughed and deflected the ice, then slapped her aside. She went flying into the flaming gate. She recovered and summoned some green energy to form two maces on her hands, then nailed Mephisto in the face with one.

Mephisto: "INSOLENT CHILD!" He flew into the air and struck Essence with a thunder bolt that he conjured up, the breathed green fire at her. She flew right through it and formed her cloak into twin machine guns, then let off rounds at him. They stunned him a bit, but he easily grabbed Essence.

Essence: "Lemme go!"

Mephisto: "Never. Once I have your sister, my hellspawns will take over this dimension." A wire came out of his neck and connected to Essence. Green energy flowed out of her, causing her pain.

Essence: "AHHHHH! What are you doing?!"

Mephisto: "I am taking the necroplasm that I infected your father with. You will be free of the curse...at the cost of your life!" She continued to struggle.

Charity: "Trey, what's the move, here?!" I looked up at Mephisto, then at the civilians. I sighed.

Trey: "Time to stop hiding. It's hero time!" I jumped up and became an alien that was the same species as SixSix, except my suit was bright red and I had an Ultimatrix symbol on my chest.

Trey: "FLEET!" I flew up to Mephisto and pulled out a blaster, then blasted his hand, making him release Essence. The civilians were in awe.

Girl: "Did he just.."

Man: "Arsenal?" After a second, the crowd started cheering for me. I caught Essence in my arms, then flew down and layed her on the ground.

Fleet: "Watch her, okay?" Charity nodded.

Charity: "Be careful, Trey." I smiled and flew back to Mephisto.

Mephisto: "Was wondering when you'd join the party, alien!" I pulled out both my blasters and let off several hundred rounds at his face, knocking him back. While he was stunned, I flew at him and became Fourarms, then punched him in the face with three of my arms. He went flying back and I became Jetray to stay in the air. He flew at me and shot rocks at me, but I flew around them and fired neuroshock blasts at him, which he absorbed into his hand and shot back. I got hit and was thrown off course enough for him to blast me. I fell toward the ground, but became Crashhopper in mid-air, then leaped back up. Before I got to him, I became Jumpstart and charged my hands with electricity, then shocked him with a blast. He barely felt it and slapped me aside. I became Ventrilosquid and landed in a tree, then used my powers to launch the tree at him. He broke the tree in half, but got him by a table I had launched at him. The table pinned him to the ground until he burst out of it and turned his hand into a magma blade. He slashed at me once and I suddenly got trapped in a magma chamber that trapped me up to my neck. I tried going Heatblast to get out, but to no avail. I glowed blue and my coal skin turned dark purple. I got a foot taller and grew two miniature volcanoes on both of my shoulders. The Ultimatrix symbol grew spikes too.

Heatblast: "ULTIMATE HEATBLAST!" I erupted out of the trap and rocketed myself at Mephisto, then grew my fist into a magma one and socked him in the stomach with it. He recovered and shot out chains at me, but I grabbed them out of the air and they melted instantly.

Mephisto: "Impressive."

Ultimate Heatblast: "Pure hellfire flames, hotter than anything in the galaxy." He opened his mouth and shot green energy, which wrapped me up.

Mephisto: "That may be. But you forget that I am unlike anything you've ever faced before! All evil thoughts come through me and only make me stronger." I broke free and shot a magma flamethrower from my mouth, knocking him back, then I threw fireballs at him. He absorbed all of them and suddenly kicked me in the stomach. I fell to the ground, causing a crater.

Charity: "TREY!" She looked up at Mephisto and her eyes glowed green. Her skin turned completely black and her eyes turned purple. A red cloak appeared on her back and when the transformation ended, she looked like the female version of Spawn. Her cloak turned into giant arms and she used them to pull Mephisto out of the air and slam him into the flaming gate.

Charity: "You will pay for hurting Trey!"

Mephisto: "So, the youngest Jennings girl has finally awakened. Congratulations." Charity snarled and shot purple energy from her hands, eyes and cloak. The energy beam pushed Mephisto back enough for Charity to fly over and slam him to the ground. He recovered and shot out chains at her, but she turned her cloak into sawblades and dismantled the chains, then summoned snakes out of her cloak to wrap him up. With him tied up, Charity grew spikes in her fists and started slobbering him. He broke free and grabbed her.

Mephisto: "No way you should be this powerful, you just awakened. Unless...you are the one true hellspawn!" Charity powered up in an aura, then turned her cape into bazookas, then blasted Mephisto off of her.

I stood up, rubbing my head, and saw what was happening.

Ultimate Heatblast: "Essence?" I looked and saw she was still lying on the ground, "Not Essence. Gotta be Charity." I went Godspeed and zoomed over to them, then launched my lightning at Mephisto, knocking him away.

Charity: "Trey, you're okay!"

Godspeed: "Of course, babes. But, we need to stop this guy before he finds some way to get stronger."

Charity: "How do we do that?" I thought about it, then got an idea.

Godspeed: "We send him home. Follow my lead." She nodded and I zoomed at Mephisto, then drop kicked him.

Godspeed: "You know, for king of the demons, you sure fight like a bitch!"

Mephisto: "YOUR SOUL WILL BE MINE!" He tried to grab me, but I zoomed to just out of his reach.

Godspeed: "Too slow." I smirked and started running around him in circles as fast as I could, creating a vortex of lightning around him.

Mephisto: "What are you doing?!" I stopped running and slid out of the vortex, then went Ultimate Heatblast again.

Ultimate Heatblast: "Charity, NOW!" She shot green energy at the vortex while I shot hellfire flames at it. That, combined with the lightning, created a wormhole to Mephisto's realm.

Ultimate Heatblast: "It's working!" We kept firing until Mephisto was forcefully sucked back into his realm. The vortex stopped and everything returned to normal.

Charity: "Won't he just come back, again?" I became Void Matter and closed my eyes. After a while, I opened them again.

Void Matter: "There, I've just placed a seal over the bridge between his realm and the earth. He won't be coming back, anytime soon."

Charity: "Really? That's awes-" She suddenly coughed up a mechanical chip, "What's that?"

I picked it up.

Void Matter: "It's your bionic chip. I guess your demonic awakening caused your body to reject it."

Charity: "Wait, so..." She turned back to normal and she looked completely normal, "Wicked awesome! So, what do we do with my chip?" I smiled.

Void Matter: "I know just what to do."

I had once again turned into Jury Rigg to perform a bionic operation on Logan. I reverted to normal and woke him up.

Logan: "Well?" I nodded at a target.

Trey: "Try it out." Logan focused on the target and a laser beam shot out of both his eyes and destroyed it.

Logan: "AWESOME!" I decided to give Charity's chip to Logan, since he was already partially bionic. I connected the chip to his nervous system so that his bionic abilities spread through his entire body, instead of just his arm, leg or eye. He has all of Charity's bionics, his super strength, along with some extras that I let him pick. He has ice powers, super speed, energy transference, sonic yelling, and electricity powers. He wanted more, but I insisted he get used to those, first.

Charity came up to me and smiled.

Charity: "So, now that your identity is out, you wanna be my boyfriend, again?" I smirked and kissed her. We kissed for a few seconds, then stopped.

Trey: "I never stopped." Matt came over with Essence.

Essence: "Look, guys, I'm sorry about trying to split you two up. I just wanted to know what it's like to have a hero as a boyfriend." I glanced at Matt and smirked again.

Trey: "Really? Well, there's a hero, right behind you." She turned around and smiled at Matt.

Matt: "Hey." Charity, Logan and I walked off.

Logan: "What, now?"

Trey: "Time to face the public."

I was standing at a podium, in front of the entire city. I had called a conference to address my identity and it was being broadcasted all over the world.
