I don't own VA…but I do own the very evil feeling coursing through me right now...
Summer Romance.
Chapter 37.
The rest of our time in Russia seemed to just fly by now that all the drama was over and done with. Lissa had out of the kindness of her heart decided to spare Deandre from going to prison for attempted rape. Quite frankly, I did not agree with that. Tasha had fired Avery who of course had no choice but to come crawling back. Kayla finally saw her so-called best friend for the vindictive bitch she really was. It seemed the only thing left to work itself out was Lissa and Christian's relationship. That was why I was currently sitting outside Christian's room.
He however was nowhere to be seen. He obviously wasn't home or he would've answered ages ago. At least, it felt like I'd been sitting here for ages and quite frankly I was getting really tired of waiting for him. Dimitri's texts were the only reasons why I had not died of boredom yet. I was seriously contemplating coming back later when I saw him round the corner.
"Hey Rosie, you need something?" The chirpiness of his voice made me look up from my phone. My heart stopped. A smile I could not hold back even if I wanted to threatened to split my face in 2.
"Um, no, never mind," I said, coming to my feet. "It can wait. See you later." Before he could recover from my abruptness, I was already across the hall. He met my eyes seconds before I closed the door and I nodded.
Maybe I was reading too much into what I'd just seen, but for now I was going to hold out hope. Lissa deserved nothing less. In Christian's hands were a bunch of daisies, Lissa's favorite flowers and a bottle of sparkling white whine. It seemed to me like things were finally taking a step in the right direction in regards to their relationship.
With just about a week left before we went home, Dimitri and I were trying to get in as much time as possible. When he had to work, he was always texting or calling and when he was free, well, he was always with me. I spent more time with him now days than I spent with Lissa. Thankfully, she did not mind. She was always out doing her own thing lately. It seemed the incident with Deandre had brought back the fire that losing Christian had snuffed out. During the day she was fine, but I knew the nights were harder on her.
I was glad that I was at least there for the night though sometimes Dimitri stayed with me. On such nights, Lissa locked herself in her room. I knew that seeing us attached at the hip was not easy on her, but I couldn't help it. Whenever Dimitri was near, I just wanted to have him hold or touch me, and he was all too eager to oblige.
I had no idea how I was going to survive without him, wasn't sure I wanted to know what that was going to feel like. The sudden ringing of my phone jolted me back to the present. Looking down gratefully at the name flashing across the screen, I couldn't help but smile.
"Funny, I was just thinking about you," I said into the phone. He chuckled and instantly, I felt all of my fears melt away. Dimitri's laughter always filled me with warmth and made me imagine warm caramel dripping off a spoon.
"I knew you couldn't get enough of me," He teased. I rolled my eyes, but dam was he right. I had only seen him the night before and already I craved him again.
It wasn't even about being with him physically though that was a contributing factor, my man was a god in and out of the bedroom, but it was so much more than that, we were so much more than that. It was the way he got me. Sometimes, I swore Dimitri knew me better than I knew myself. It was how he knew when something was wrong, how he knew when to push for answers or when to just hold me. Never in my life had there ever been anyone who could read me so well, Lissa included.
"I really can't though," I said to him. "You still working?"
"I am, but there is only 30 minutes left of my shift." That information made me smile and sent the butterflies in my stomach flying furiously.
"So," I said. "What you're saying is that I get to see you in 30 minutes?" He chuckled again and my heart flipped.
"Yes my Roza, I'll swing by your place in 30 minutes." He was about to hang up but I suddenly remembered that I didn't actually know why he'd called.
"Um, Dimitri?" I said halting him in his tracks.
"Yes, Roza?"
"Was there actually something you wanted?" When he spoke next, I could hear the smile in his voice.
"Just to say that I love you." For a few moments, I was at a loss for words. Even though Dimitri had been doing things like this ever since I met him, it still caught me off guard every now and again.
"I love you, babe. I can't wait to see you." There was silence for a few seconds before I heard someone bark Dimitri's name. I was about to ask him what was going on, but he hung up before I could.
DPOV.
All I could think about all day was my Roza. We'd been texting back and forth ever since she woke up, but suddenly that was not enough. I needed to hear her voice. I needed to see her, to hold her and ravish that delectable body, and that wasn't even what it was entirely about.
My Roza had become a constant in my life. I'd grown accustomed to knowing that she was either a text or phone call away. I could see her whenever I wanted. All I had to do was drive out to the hotel. Suddenly, it occurred to me that, this time next week she wouldn't be here. That thought had me reaching for my phone and quickly punching in her number. It didn't matter that I was driving; I wasn't far from the station anyway.
"Funny, I was just thinking about you," Her sweet voice sent shivers down my spine. Her witty response however made me chuckle. Talking to her was the highlight of my day. Baia really was a quiet town so being the only officer on patrol here got kind of boring sometimes.
When I pulled into the station however, my boredom was quickly relieved. Another officer called my name and the seriousness in his voice made me hang up on Roza. I would explain later, right now duty was calling my name and I had to answer it.
"Belikov, officer Kozlov needs back up a few miles off." That was all it took for me to nod. Something told me that my day was about to get very interesting, very fast.
Alright! What the hell do you guys think is going to happen now? Why does officer Kozlov need back up? I know this is short, but well, I felt evil so :P maybe if you guys review, I'll post the rest later!
Review lovelies or I'll seriously make you wait ;) Insert evil cackle here…lol
