Here's the next chapter of Never Existed as promised :) Now, I'm starting to have a more clear view of what's going to happen for the rest of the story but the number of chapters is still a bit fuzzy for me to work out precisely how many chapters there'll be before this story finishes. But I assure you that it'll be less than 55 chapters ;)
So anyways, without further delay, here's the next chapter of Never Existed! ^^

Twilight was feeling that she was one step closer to achieving her goal to rid of all this chaos and lost existence of herself, after the spark with Rainbow Dash, she had wondered how Twilight would demonstrate herself as the element of magic, she knew it would be in here and seeing Sunset Shimmer who was a former student of Princess Celestia sealed the deal that she would witness her own spark within these very walls.
As Twilight looked up at Rainbow Dash and Sunset Shimmer with determination in her eyes, she saw that the elements behind Sunset had began to spin around in circles, just like they once did a long time ago according to Twilight. And this gave Twilight a sudden déjà vu moment and only a second later she dove for the elements along with Sunset Shimmer panicking at the last second as she saw Twilight run for them also.
"Oh no you don't!" Sunset called out in a warning to Twilight as she too dove for the glowing elements.
It was only a second later that Sunset, Twilight and the elements had vanished into thin air. And this caused a widespread of confusion and panic across the five other ponies; they looked around in panic of wondering and worrying where Twilight had disappeared to. But then Rarity spotted outside the broken window that the highest tower of the old and abandoned castle's windows were glowing very brightly but then quickly disappeared. This drew the ponies' attention towards that tower and they began to run up towards that tower while not knowing the playful but scary traps that were laid upon the castle and hidden also.
"We've got to get to Twilight!" Applejack announced in a panic.
"And fast!" Rainbow added and then zooming off by flying up the stairs that may or may not lead them to the tower.
So as the five ponies ran to find Twilight through the mysterious castle, Twilight and Sunset had just appeared in that same tower that Rarity was pointing to a moment ago. They fell next to each other and when they had woken from their small fall, Sunset saw who she was next to and quickly jumped off and stood her stance against Twilight along with a small growl.
Twilight in all the meanwhile was slowly readjusting herself as she could hear Sunset growling at her as if Twilight had invaded her territory. Twilight did invade but it was only by accident, so she let it pass and stood up straight to look where the elements would appear.
As Sunset continued to growl angrily but somehow quietly at Twilight, a strange light was appearing behind her and this halted her actions as her curiosity grew and she turned around with widened eyes to see what was going on.
And it wasn't a moment later that standing both before Twilight and Sunset was Nightmare Moon, originally Princess Luna. Twilight nodded to herself in determination of the next upcoming events, but then her determination turned into doubt when Sunset saw the elemental rocks appear before the tall dark alicorn and this caused her main goal to come back into focus.
"Give those to me!" She demanded running towards Nightmare Moon and the elements.
Nightmare Moon smirked as she saw the golden coloured unicorn running up towards her, the dark alicorn left her post for a moment to charge herself at Sunset Shimmer, Sunset knew exactly what to do as she saw the alicorn coming closer and closer towards her. She smirked at the last second and used a teleportation spell to carry her to where the elements rested neatly in a small circle. Twilight was also thinking the same way and felt extremely surprised to see Sunset Shimmer thinking of the magic spells that she once did.
"Now, I just need a spark to get the sixth element and I'll have my destiny!" Sunset declared to herself almost quietly.
Sunset lowered herself so she was closer to the elements and she pointed her horn downwards as a light green aura surrounded her horn, and the elements began to lift slowly into the air. But Twilight could see that Nightmare Moon was using her magic which quickly overpowered Sunset's magic to gain control of the elements as they gravitated towards her instead.
Twilight knew she just had to do something, but Sunset was doing most of what she was going to do already, so this left her to think before taking another move. Twilight had quickly come up with an idea but she wasn't completely sure if it was going to work or not. She pointed her horn at the elements that were now in Nightmare moon's control, she tried to fight the other alicorns magic but it was far too strong for her to take hold of, but then she felt the presence of more magic from Sunset Shimmer who was trying to regain control of the elements.
And with Sunset's and Twilight's magic it still wasn't enough to overpower the dark magic from Nightmare Moon. It wasn't long before Sunset had lost most of her strength trying to regain control but Twilight was still fighting it. In the meanwhile, Nightmare Moon was feeling a slightly tingly sensation as she could feel the presence of Twilight's new alicorn magic, she looked over towards the young alicorn.
"Well, what do we have here? Another student from the Princess of the no longer sun?" She asked while scanning over Twilight and seeing that her cutie mark represented magic. "Good luck getting back your precious sun and your elements!"
Sunset looked up at Twilight, she didn't realize that this pony was her successor but wasn't really a successor since Sunset did not complete her studies, but saw what would've happened to her if she hadn't gone her separate and foolish ways.
"You're Celestia's student after me?" Sunset asked while cocking an eyebrow as she slowly approached Twilight.
Twilight quickly looked over at Sunset while still trying to fight Nightmare Moon's magic, she was starting to see hope and goodness in Sunset's eyes but it quickly disappeared when she tackled Twilight in utter jealousy and Nightmare Moon watched with a smirk printed on her darkened face.
"You took away what was mine!" Sunset cried as tears began to stream down her face.
"No, please Sunset! We need to defeat Nightmare Moon!" Twilight pleaded by also not fighting back Sunset's strangling.
Twilight used a teleportation spell to send her over to where Nightmare Moon had originally stood. She stood proudly as she saw the look on Sunset's face; the unicorn looked mildly shocked but still determined to take what should've been hers. And Sunset wasn't expecting small lecture from the pony that had succeeded in her studies.
"Please Sunset Shimmer, listen to me." Twilight told Sunset in hesitation an innocence
"No! I want what was supposed to be mine!"
Twilight quickly looked up at Nightmare moon who was looking down at the elements and about to destroy them into a thousand pieces, Twilight panicked and used a magic spell to transport herself over to where Nightmare Moon was and then she shoved the alicorn out of the way as she looked down at them with a mental blank expression written all over her face. She had forgotten what she had done when she had first got a hold of the elements when she first found them, she knew it was some form of spell but she had learnt so many new spells that she had just for this moment had forgotten that one spell she needed. It was so simple, how could she forget a spell so easily?
Meanwhile, Sunset had just registered in her mind what Twilight was trying to do. Sunset Shimmer had studied the elements for a long time and had only just discovered them, but had now seen that Twilight was going to generate the spark of magic. But she felt more relieved when she saw that Twilight looked very unsure of what to do next. So, as a sporting chance, she used teleportation to do the same thing Twilight had done to Nightmare Moon and began to try and generate the spark of magic.
Twilight had almost toppled onto Nightmare Moon but thankfully Nightmare Moon had gotten up already and was about to aim her dark magic at Twilight but had then seen that Sunset Shimmer was slowly succeeding in generating the spark of magic. And Twilight thought at the same time that this wasn't the only way that she could demonstrate her magic spark but she hadn't found the perfect moment of when she could state it firmly to everyone.
Unfortunately her friends had been caught but had luckily averted some of the traps that were hidden within the castle; they were now stuck underneath in a darkroom all together. Rarity used her horn to try and create a small light so they could see where they were. The only thing they knew was that they were in a confined space, Fluttershy began to scream in her usual quiet voice as Rainbow kicked her hooves at all four walls and Applejack was trying to find any kind of switch that could make them escape this trap.
"Every pony calm down! I'm trying to find a switch to get ya'll outta here!" AJ stated sounding serious as she focused her eyes on the walls as she brushed her hoof against each wall to find any sort of switch.
The ponies had then silenced themselves, it was mainly Pinkie, Fluttershy and Rainbow who had been making most of the noise but they had all silenced as they focused their attention towards Applejack as the earth pony scanned the walls wither hoofs until she found something unusual that made her curiosity grow.
"What's this?" She asked herself but somehow the others also.
"Perhaps it's the switch?" Rarity wondered.
"Only one way to find out!" Pinkie exclaimed in her high pitched voice as she jumped high up before she had almost touched the ceiling and then landing on the strange object which had then moved as soon as all of Pinkie's weight was applied to it and the wall behind them all had began to push all of them forwards into the other wall that had the switch that activated it.
They all panicked and screamed as they all were forced closer and closer towards the other wall.
"Pinkie!"
"What? It wouldn't have made a difference anyway!" Pinkie screamed in Applejack's ear as a sign that she was panicking very extremely.
Rainbow had tried to fight it by pushing it the other way while the others just looked ahead and could see their doom lying only a metre ahead of them.
They all screamed in time with each other but then stopped in confusion when the wall in which they were being pushed towards had lifted upwards into the ceiling and another room was visible behind it. And the wall behind them had stopped moving as soon as it had pushed all of the five ponies out of the confined room.
The five ponies shared a brief moment of awkwardness and confusion before having Applejack leading the way down a dark hallway full of disembodied pony parts on the walls which seemed very real to them. They all looked around in caution and especially Fluttershy who had huddled up against Rainbow Dash; the braver Pegasus moaned but tolerated Fluttershy's frightened actions.
"It'll be fine Fluttershy." Rainbow assured her while looking around in mild caution.
Fluttershy gulped in nervousness and full awareness of what was going on around her. "I hope so."
"I hope Twilight's alright." Rarity hoped as she still kept her horn lit to help Applejack guide the way.
Is Twilight alright? Or more importantly, what about Sunset Shimmer and the elements? Will she succeed in generating the spark or will Nightmare Moon stop her and create more déjà vu moments for Twilight as Sunset Shimmer acts out almost all of Twilight's actions from the first time? And how about Athanasia? When will she show up? All (or most) will be answered in the next chapter! Next Update will be around these dates: 7th to 9th June.
