I saw that Mello had too much on his plate. I offered to take care of Sayu so he could concentrate on his other work. I was secretly also trying to help change it so the father would not go after Mello. The name was all that sealed his fate. If he didn't have his name exposed, Takada would be no danger and my blond, bad- boy would be safe. He knew his fate as much as I did but I was trying to change it while he was trying to do what he could to win without me basically giving him the answers. I was the only one who knew for for word what was being said and what was happening.
I walked down the stairs. The stairs echoed making the isolation I felt more apparent. I was going to try to persuade a stranger by baring my soul out to her. The shadows covered my sight like paintings of black. I walked until I found the girl.
She was shaking terrified perhaps as scared as me. I knelt down next to her. Her pale skin reminding me how innocent she was. She was not meant to be here or in her family's secret mess. I stroked her hair to keep her from starting like the metaphorical rabbit she was. "Sayu did you have sweet dreams?" I asked softly much like a mother would. She seemed to relax from this.
"Yes I did despite being kidnapped" she said and I tucked her hair behind her ear like Mello sometimes did. She looked at me blinking like she wasn't expecting this kindness. "Even my brother doesn't do that" she said in surprise not surprising me because Light and her had become lost as siblings as he grew up. I decided to take the plunge so I took a breath.
"He's not so bad you know. He didn't want to do this but he had no other choice to get something that your father has. This dangerous weapon and secret is something that Kira has created and Kira is who he is tracking. You see Kira killed his father figure because his father figure also pursued justice but in a manner not the same as Kira did. He just wanted to show that he was good too because his father figure payed attention to his rival more than him." I explained sort of scratching the surface of the complicated relationship and story. "Once upon a time he wanted to be just like his father figure and for a time, he was up there on the top. Then it all changed when his rival came and all the hard work he did, just slipped away so he worked harder and harder losing his old self as his own anger over powered the joy he once had. He had lost all of his friends but one that day. " I added giving more of a glimpse without going into too much as no one wants all their secrets spilled not even to save them.
Sayu looked at me. "You seem fairly close to him despite."
"I had met him when he had already lost his joy but I helped bring it back in small amounts. I loved and still love him dearly. He's harsh but not heartless, he hates killing those who don't deserve it, who are innocent, who only was in a life of crime because there was no other choice, and hates killing kids who were on the streets." I said showing he was full of morals despite him and Sayu having not believed that he was.
