Chapter Thirty-Seven (37): Just the Beginning

The case had taken them almost an entire week to solve. Everyone was beyond exhaustion and couldn't wait to get back home and sleep in their own beds. Almost everyone, but Hotch and Jessie, were asleep.
"Does it get any easier leaving the kids behind?" Jess asked her supervisor.
"No it doesn't. Then you later realize that you miss on a lot of important things. Luckily Jack understands and doesn't hold it against me"
"I have a feeling my kids are going to hold it against me" Grey sighed out in defeat.
"At least you have an understanding partner that understands you. I wasn't so lucky"
"I'm sorry to hear that Hotch"
"Just spend every waking moment with them and don't think about the maybe's. you'll make yourself go stir crazy if you do"
"…Thanks Hotch"
"Any time"

Hours later both women walked through the front door and were welcomed home by their pets and children. Once Em locked the door, she picked up Matthew and made her way into the living room, where Patrick and her parents' were. They talked for a bit before all three grandparents went their separate ways. They then bathed the kids and then put them to bed but not before reading them two bedtime stories.
Jessie had just walked back into the master bedroom, when Emily walked out of their bathroom. Smiling at her, the younger agent pulled the longhaired brunette as close to her as possible and placed a sweet kiss on her lips.
"Now you wanted to talk about something and may I guess this something?" Prentiss nodded, "Does this have to do with wanting another baby?"
"How did you know?"
"You weren't exactly hiding it sweetie"
"What do you think?"
Jess smiled and answered, "Let's call your OBGYN tomorrow alright, right now I want to show my wife how much I love her and cherish her"
