Growl
"Thanks for getting the supplies," Kagome helped Eri set down the chemicals. "The lab is about pH with acids and," she peered closely at her paper, "bases? Does that mean anything to you?"
Sesshomaru lifted a lip and whisked the chemicals away from her. He added one liquid to another, and began writing down his observations as Kagome and Eri looked on. The girls exchanged a look, and Eri lightly cleared her throat.
When he made no signal of having heard, Kagome snorted. "Excuse me? What exactly do you think you're doing, new kid?"
"You never showed yesterday," his voice was low and nearly inaudible as he continued working without offering her a spare glance.
She narrowed her eyes. "Um, yes I did. You already know that."
Kagome seethed venom, her voice tart but barely raised above the sound of a breath.
"Hn?" His tone was patronizing, eyes meeting hers with a cold fire, and Kagome couldn't stand it. In the most animalistic way she could muster, she bared her teeth at him and growled.
Sesshomaru's hands stilled, breath unnaturally caught and he blinked at her. Disbelief flooded into Kagome's blushing cheeks, and she shrunk away from him, completely confused.
