She had met them...originally it was fine as just them...but soon he wanted to be more than just them.

(Present)

Raditz checked the system as he pulled up information on the planet before him. He had assumed that Vegeta had gone to sleep when he didn't hear him training or the sound of him and Kagome talking. "The planet is habitable...hm, looks like is will be fine for Kagome too." He checked the levels of oxygen and compared them to Earths, "it's a little higher, twenty-four percent compared to earths twenty-one...she'll be fine." He set the ship down in a remote area on the planet, though, he could feel the power levels of some of the natives coming to investigate, they weren't anything to lift a finger for...yet.

A subtle knock sounded and Vegeta opened his eyes and peered over at the door. Raditz stood there with a smirk on his lips but said nothing as he watched Vegeta untangle himself from the tangle of limbs. Without waking Kagome, he slipped out of the small bunk and made his way out of the room with Raditz leading.

"We are on a planet. I investigated a bit prior to waking you, and the inhabitants are friendly. They are also quite smart...they are willing to look into the ship and make repairs if they can."

He pointed out the Pilot lookout and Vegeta stared down at the pinkish aliens that were moving in strange ways. It was a sight to see, but they were no threat to him or his mate...that, he was certain of. "I'll wake Kagome up; can we communicate with them?"

"For the most part, I can, yes." Raditz turned the Ship off and sat back down as he yawned. "I've been spoiled on earth, sleeping so frequently, my body ignores the urgency of such situations now."

"Humph, let's hope that there will be more times where such Era's and moments of peace are made frequent."

Raditz stared in slight surprise as Vegeta left him with those words. 'My Prince, you are already relieved of your hatred so soon? I didn't think that was possible...but that you turned into the Legendary Super Saiyan, and you defeated Frieza...I guess, it makes sense that you are more relaxed now. I think however, Kagome has a lot to do with your drastic change in personality too...' He laughed a little to himself as he recalled the words Kagome had spouted back on Earth.

"...a loving father...strong, emotionally and mentally hardened...physically he's one of the strongest Saiyan's left...only one other Saiyan rivals him in strength. He's a tease...seductive...intentionally so. He's a teacher...passionate...protective..."

He hadn't seen it then. The man she spoke of wasn't real, and in his mind, never would be. Right now, though, with Frieza gone and no longer a terror to worry over...and Vegeta's mate and son-to-be so close to him. He could see the changes first hand and...it was a metamorphosis to be sure. Closing his eyes, he leaned back in the Pilot's seat and his mind wandered again. This time, he thought back to distant memories of his father and mother. Before the destruction of Planet Vegeta...he thought about his brother when he was born. Each as painful a memory as the last...but the worst of his thoughts... 'would we have been able to save them...if we'd achieved Super Saiyan back then?'

"Raditz! Are you ready?"

Vegeta's voice broke him of his thoughts and he turned his eyes to his Prince. He hadn't realized that his emotions had become visible, but the shocked look on Vegeta's face before he turned away quickly and left the ship, was enough to let him know he'd let his guard down.

Kagome hadn't left though, she'd moved forward and sat down across from him, her eyes not leaving his. "Raditz..."

"I'm fine, really. I was just lost in memories."

"...who were you thinking of?"

He looked at the girl and scoffed, "if I told you, would you travel back in time and bring them back too?"

"I...can't. Too many things would change...but, Raditz...who was it you were thinking of?" Her heart broke a bit at the dampen eyes, tears that he refused to let fall.

"...my father and mother, my entire race. I was thinking of my home, my planet..." he shook his head, "when I was younger, I was excited when placed on Vegeta and Nappa's team, to purge a planet, but...you know...it was only a ruse. I never realized that...the night before we left, would be the last time I saw my parents...or my baby brother."

"But, you found Goku..."

"Heh...true, I found Kakarot, and I'm glad that I did...but I wonder, if my father had seen him, if my mother had been here to hold him...I just...I don't think he would have turned out differently, to be honest. I just wish they could have seen him grow up. I wish they could have been there for him...for me..."

Tears were swelling painfully in her eyes as she listened to Raditz. "I'm sorry...I wish it was possible to-" she stopped mid-sentence at the hum of energy flowing from her Shikon and closed her eyes sadly, "...I'm so sorry..."

He shook his head and stood up, "they've been dead for years, Kagome. I never expected them to come back to life...I only wished they were able to have lived." He walked off, leaving Kagome to her thoughts.

Pulling from her shirt the glowing Shikon, she glared hatefully at the Jewel and sighed, 'even if I made a wish on this thing, it wouldn't do anyone any good.'

'No matter the temptation, don't let yourself be enticed by the Shikon no Tama...there is no wish...Kagome, that would save your Soul from imprisonment.'

"I know that, but still...is there really nothing that I can do? Midoriko, if ever there was a time, I could do with some advice...now...would be it." She sighed when she was kept in silence, knowing that she'd hear nothing from the woman, but she could hope. Standing and letting the Shikon drop freely from her hand, it dangled around her neck and the glow vanished as no wish was made. Her heart ached that there was nothing she could do, but she would continue to think of ideas, who knew. Perhaps there were other possibilities...other options open to her...maybe…

"Kagome, come!"

She turned and saw Vegeta with a hand out, beckoning her into his arms as he waited for her to follow them outside. Smiling, she forced herself to focus on the here and now. 'Until we are back on Earth, all I can do, is take care of my body and this little one. Trunks...let's keep fighting, both of us!'
