Zach POV

The car proved effective, Seth's navigation skills did not. We lost that god damn ambulance 3 times before we managed to lead it onto a motoway and follow it easier, it was only the reg plate that kept us going. After that things between me and set because tense, I was worried we'd loose the girls again and he was angry at himself for not being better at navigating. I made the decision Cammie would have wanted me to make and not hold anything by him, so at least we didn't kill each other first.

God, I was thinking about her like she was already gone, we didn't know that. She couldn't be. Neither could Alexa. I couldn't loose them both.

"I think we've got them now." Seth mumbled to himself as the ambulance turned right onto a narrow country rode but it didn't slow. We turned off too and slowed down so as not to look suspicious.

Getting lost did have the upside of the ambulance not suspecting us as a tail, since we weren't always right behind it but now down the country rode it would be hard not to look suspicious since we were virtually the only cars in sight.

Seth opened the glove compartment and routed around, there was a travel dictionary with corners of pages turned, three packs of airwave gum and a flask that was empty. He slammed it shut and undid his seat belt. He then climbed into the back.

Keeping one eye on the road I tried to see what he was doing in the mirror. "Care to share Seth?" I asked, easing the breaks and turning right with the ambulance.

"I'm trying to see who owns this car." He said, looking under the seats and giving a disappointed grumble.

"Why would they put anything under the seats?" I asked, glancing back to see him climb into the boot.

"Beats me, I just need to take my mind off things." A few minutes later her emerged from the boot with a grin. "Guns, and... syringes." I blinked and looked back to see Seth dump three .45's onto the middle seat, along with a set of fake ID's and two empty clean glass syringes.

"Looks like we may have stolen a stolen car." I said with a whistle, hitting the accelerator as we came back onto a motor way.

"No way, guess who it belongs to?" He climbed awkwardly back into the seat next to me and showed me the picture on one of the ID's.

"Dr. Collins." I said with a grimace. "Do you think he took Cammie and Alexa?"

"Looks like." Seth said distantly, staring off into the tail lights of the ambulance we were following and I couldn't help but wonder if he was thinking the same thing as me. What if we'd made a big mistake and the girls weren't in there? What if with every passing second they were slipping through our fingers heading somewhere else? I didn't want it to be true, I'd been through too much with Cammie over these past few years to let her slip past me now.

I thought back to when we first met, in that shopping mall when they had a training exercise, it seemed like a life time ago I followed her to that glass slipper and failed her test. It almost made me smile to think about it.

"It doesn't look like they'll be stopping soon." Seth said, taking a piece of airwave gum from the glove compartment and putting his feet up on the dash.

"How can you be so calm?" My hands were still tight on the steering wheel as we changed lanes.

"Who says I'm calm?" He replied with a sigh, his eyes closed and hands behind his head. There was a fully loaded gun in his lap.

We drove in silence for a few minutes, watching the sun fade along the horizon and creating beautiful lights of orange and purple across the starry sky. Cammie always loved watching the sun set.

"Hey, can I tell you something?" Seth spoke up just as we rounded the corner to a place called Moon Town, interesting location name. I replied with an 'uh-huh', careful not to loose sight of where the girls were possibly being held in the traffic and night life of the town. "You know when we were at the first hospital, trying to get Liz medical care?"

"Yeah." I said, not taking my eyes off the road.

"I may have, sort of kissed Alexa." He said slowly, like he wasn't sure how I'd take it. The hospital seemed like a life time ago.

I thought for a second about how to hurt him but then I realised after everything she'd been through, and him, it might have been wise to give the benefit of the doubt. They seemed to get along. So I took a breath and said: "If you hurt here I'll kill you, you know that right?" He smirked.

"I figured. I just wanted to know if she maybe liked me back? Or if that was literally a one time thing?" I never thought I'd see the day where I'd be having a trusting conversation with Seth, like we were friends or something.

"She hasn't said anything, but we have been through a lot, be patient." I told him, though I had know idea what exactly I was telling him.

But just before he could say anything else the ambulance pulled up outside a detached house and turned off its engines. The front door opened and a man I never thought I'd see again stepped out. Drew Collins.

I gritted my teeth and kept driving till we reached the corner of the road and stopped ourselves.
