Chapter 37 – Edina Gets Caught

Bella's POV

It was late afternoon when Edward and I climbed out of bed, neither of us had wanted to let go of the other but my father would be home soon and I was not intending to let him catch me in bed with my girlfriend/fiancé. So, regrettably, we left the bed and headed to the bathroom.

No words were spoken but it was with a flirtatious smile that I invited her in to shower with me. We didn't have long before dad would be back so neither of us were going to start anything we wouldn't have time to finish, but we did spend longer in there than was necessary. There was a lot of stroking and rubbing as we cuddled affectionately under the stream while making a pathetic attempt at washing ourselves. The feel of her hands running along my body ignited something inside of me so it took all I had not to jump her right then and there under the warm stream of water, although we did start an awfully long make-out session.

Once we were finally out of the shower we dressed and headed out right before dad arrived. While we were driving I took her cool hand, holding it in my warm one. "I love you Edward." I said before placing a gentle kiss on her fingers.

She smiled. "I love you too Bella," my fiancé assured me. "But you know you can call me Edina," there was a long pause before she added, "I would like it if you would."

I smiled at her, glad that she was accepting who she was now and finding a way to be happy anyway. "If that's what you want." I told her, leaning my head on her shoulder.

When we pulled up to the Cullen house we ascended the stairs with smiles on our faces. It wasn't until we were inside that we found everyone was oddly quiet. My fiancé hardened instantly as she demanded of everyone present, "What happened?"

"Nothing." Emmett was very unconvincing and Edina immediately turn tailed and left the through the door we had just entered at a dead run.

"What's going on?" I asked all the hesitant faces in the room.

Sam's POV

I heard the call and within seconds I was outside running on four legs.

What happened? I asked immediately.

One of the vamps has crossed the border. Embry told me and I couldn't stop the involuntary growl from escaping my throat. This is our territory, they need to keep their distance.

Wait, Leah protested although no one slowed pace and more wolves were phasing by the minute. That's Edward's scent, don't hurt her! She begged and there were mummers of distaste from all present.

The leech is on our territory, Paul reminded her angrily.

I spoke up before an argument could break out. Regardless of how they helped Seth, or your current opinion of them Leah, we have a treaty and it must be honoured. Edward has been allowed access onto our lands far too much and it has gone to his head, the treaty stands and he has broken it. I stated authoritatively.

Leah panicked and I did not like how much she had grown to care for our enemies. Edward would not do this without a really good reason, please just hear her out, she is weaker than any of us, she couldn't take down one of us so all together she is no threat, please just hear her out!

Some were beginning to listen to Leah and consider her words until we caught up with the vamp and found it standing over Jacob who was unphased and covered in blood with the leech wailing on him.

Quil was the first to grab the offending vampire around the waist and pull him back, his teeth digging into the marble like flesh. "It's not his blood!" The high pitched female voice screamed, barely causing people to pause, but barely was enough to give him time to speak. "Jacob beat his girlfriend half to death because he found out her secret." This time we did pause as everyone was preparing to pounce on him and rip him to shreds.

It's lying! Paul screamed at us.

Paul's right, Embry backed him up. Jake would never do that.

Before anyone else could respond Leah shocked us all. BASTARD! She screamed and lunged at Jacob. I'll kill you! She wrapped her jaws around his shoulder and lifted him off the ground, she swung her pack-mate through the air and then slammed his body into the ground. I'll kill you! I'll kill you! I'll kill you! She repeated over and over as I jumped forward to grab her by the back on her neck.

Let him go Leah. I commanded but she ignored me.

NO! Her teeth sunk deeper into his arm and Jacob cried out. He hurt her, I'll kill him! There were tears in Leah's eyes and the thought of a beautiful young girl lying beaten and bruised in a pool of her own blood flashed through her mind.

I dug my teeth tighter into her neck, severing the flesh and digging into the muscle, she whimpered but refused to release Jacob. Let him GO! It was an alpha order this time.

With the effects of the alpha order compelling her, she lifted Jacob by his left shoulder and swung her head, causing my teeth to rip through her even more, and released him, causing him to fly through the air and crash into a nearby three with a groan on pain.

Once Leah had released Jacob I released her immediately, worried about hurting her, but also ready to grab her again if she tried to go after Jacob.

Leah turned to Edward who was still held by Quil and surrounded by the others. Is she alright? The she-wolf demanded.

"She'll live," he assured her, "But she's badly injured and will take a long while to recover." He didn't seem to care he was seconds away from death.

Let her go! Leah ordered the others who protested loudly.

She's a leach!

She breached our territory!

She beat Jacob!

HE DESERVED IT! Leah screamed at them. Now let her go or kill me too. She growled at them all.

Everyone just stood there, unsure of what to do. I didn't understand what was going on but I gathered Jacob had done something seriously wrong, if what the vampire said was true than what he had done was completely unacceptable and had I heard of it first I would have torn him a new one, but Leah beat me to it. Regardless of what was truth and what was lies, my pack was injured and needed medical attention, the best was to diffuse the situation as quickly as possible was to agree with Leah and let this slide.

Let him go. I commanded and the leech was released immediately. Leave our territory and never return. I ordered the vampire who stood tall and injured before me.

"I'm leaving." Was all he said and Leah phased back, not caring about her lack of clothes, just wanting to have some privacy in her head.

"Let's go then." She stated as Edward shed his jacket, and wrapping it around Leah's shoulders, he led her to the treaty line.

Authors Note: Not what you were expecting was it? Who is glad Jake got a beating?

daota1 - That should be the most of the girl on girl, might show up again but might not. This story is not a lemon fest but the majority of any sexual escapade from here on in will most likely be either girl on guy or guy on guy.
