Today's chapter comes mostly courtesy of Wardude101. I had intended to add more to this collab chapter myself but all my segments are still in development.
This chapter gets pretty grisly at points, so be forewarned.
Earth 711-Blacksite 711-E-5
"Sir, are you sure about this?"
The two conversing figures were walking down the cellblock. The first was wearing clone armor, with the colors of the 501st. Several markings on his armor and backpack identified him as a medic.
The other was wearing the standard uniform of the KIC. He had pair of aviators on, and a near permanent scowl. There were also three others among them: a figure in cyan armor, groggy and restrained, being escorted by two Light Guardsmem
"Trooper Kix, I understand you have your morals, but let's face it: morals are dead in the kingdom." The agent spoke
"Sir, I know we have to go to some extreme methods to get some info but, this just seems...cruel." Kix objected.
"It's not just needless cruelty...The Toa are a resilient bunch, and are perfectly fine with being tortured. Once we pass their sufferings onto another, she'll crack." They stopped in front of one cell, and the agent began to type in the passcode.
"Sir, at least let me fix him up once the Toa confesses." The medic pleaded.
"No. He's been sentenced to death anyways." The agent ordered
"Yes, but this isn't a quick beheading we're talking about, this is an agonizin-"
"Trooper Kix, I suggest you shut up. Unless you want a court martial." As he finished his sentence, the door opened.
"Set him down" The agent ordered the two guardsmen.
The two complied without saying anything, and sat him on a chair. Across from him, was another seated individual, this time a dark blue armored figure, apparently bloodied from hours of torture. She looked up at the agent
"Another one of the Kingdom's minions comes. I've told you all, the Toa Nuva are all dead. I'm the only one left." The Toa spoke
"Gali, I'm told your name is. I am Agent Norvin, of the Kingdom Intelligence Corps. And i know you're lying." He pulled a hologram projector, and activated it. It showed two figures being escorted into captivity by Kingdom Soliders. One a hedgehog, the other a certain Toa of Fire. Gali's face morphed to horror, seeing her brother captured by these brutes.
"We know had contact with Tahu prior to the destruction of the Brotherhood of Darkness. And we know you had contact with two of the other Nuva prior to your capture. So tell me." Norvin leaned into Gali's face/mask. "Where. Are. They?"
Gali remained silent.
"Stubborn I see. You're more than happy to suffer the pain yourself...we'll see how that holds up when someone else is being tortured because of you." He walked over to the cyan man, who was just starting to become aware of his surroundings.
"This is Tucker. Say hi Tucker." He said.
"Man, I knew you could pick chicks up in a tan-. Damnit it was just a dream." Tucker said. He then took a good look at his surroundings. "What am I doing her- Oh right. I'm being held hostage by space crusaders, who are going to kill me. Crap."
"And this." He held up a syringe that Kix reluctantly handed over "Is a slow acting version of FX-29. A deadly poison."
"Wait. A slow acting what now." Tucker said with concern. Gali looked horrified, already knowing where this was going.
"This thing can kill within 18 minutes. So you have a little less than that to reconsider." And with that, Norvin injected the syringe into Tucker's neck. "Take your time. After all, we're not in rush." He mocked.
For the first 5 minutes, Kix desperately tried to stay in line. He tried to ignore as Tucker started vomiting into his own helmet. He tried ignoring the agonized look on Gali's face. He tried to ignore as Tucker started to cough out blood. And tried to ignore as Norvin taunted the two.
But he couldn't. And finally, he decided that something had to be done.
"Come on Toa, your supposed to save people right. If you don't talk now we'll keep killing people until you do. Your gonna put your s*** brothers lives over-" Norvin was silenced as Kix jammed a scalpel into his throat.
The two Guardsmen reacted, leveling their rifles at the rouge medic. He responded by wheeling around to one of the guards, and throwing Norvin's body at him. He then charged the next guardsman, and grabbed the barrel of his blaster rifle, and pulled it from his hands. He then shot him point blank. The second guard was almost up when he met a similar fate.
With the two guards and Norvin dead, he walked up to Tucker, and set down his backpack, from which he pulled another syringe. "Don't squirm. I'm trying to save you."
"It's kind...of..hard when...my helmet's full of...blood..and vomit." The cyan colored marine muttered as the medic injected the syringe into his throat. After that, he began to remove the restraints. He then moved to do the same with Gali.
"Why are you helping us?" The water Toa asked.
"Because A. I killed 3 men in a fit of rage, and B. I'm a sorta nice guy, okay" Kix responded. "Can you walk." He addressed the two. Gali had no problems getting up, and seemed fine. Tucker on the other hand, seemed wobbly on his feat.
"Easy there. Take it slowly, alright." He turned to the water Toa. "Can put some of those water Toa healing skills to the test on Tucker while I stall the guards?"
"Yes." She said. The Toa then had Tucker lay down while Kix went outside, blocking the door as several Guardsmen approached.
"Took you long enough. Norvin snapped and shot the other two." Kix said. "I think he went East. Must be heading for the hangar. You need to stop him."
"What about the prisoners?" Quizzed one guard
"They can hardly walk. I can handle them. Now go!" He practically ordered.
The men nodded and began to head east, searching for the supposed rouge agent.
He turned to see Tucker up and about. "Wow. My armor's wet. And not in that way, although I would be okay with that. Bow chicka wow wow." He said as he and the Toa walked out
"Tucker...i'll pay you 500 credits...if you never say that around me. Again. Ever." The medic said.
"If you two are done we must get going." Gali interjected.
"Relax babe. As long as nothing happens we should just be able to BS our way outta here." Tucker said
A giant explosion rocked the base.
"Attention all units. UNSC Insurgent forces are attacking the base. This is not a drill!"
"You were saying." Both Gali and Kix said at the same time.
"Well, this actually sounds like a good thing. Now the Kingies will be too distracted to notice us leaving. It's a foolproof plan. Leave in all the chaos."
As if to further prove Tucker is tempting fate way too much for his or everyone else's good, a giant explosion tore open the roof, revealing a Pelican dropship, which deployed several armed individuals into the base.
"Alright assbags listen up." Declared one orange armored soldier. "We heard you had a, and I'm using this term loosely here, friend being held captive in Space Gitmo an-"
"Grif. I'm right here." Tucker waved.
Even with the helmet, Grif managed to look dumbfounded. "Really, we've been here ten seconds and we already found you. Normally i'm all for a quick mission But-actually you know, what, screw it, i want pizza." Grif turned to one of the Marines who accompanied him "Tell your boss we found our 'friend', and we want to go home, Aussie."
"First, i have name. Chips. Second we still have to find-"
"Alright we'll find your friend." He turned to Kix. "You. What are doing here hanging out with Tucker and this...robot lady?"
"Gali." The Toa corrected. "And he helped us escape. So i think we can trust him."
"Right. Tell me, do you know where we can find an 'Avery Johnson'."
"Oh him. He's in the Max security sector. Tried to kill a bunch of guards ya know." Kix said.
"By the way Grif, how'd you end up working with these guys anyways?" Tucker asked
"Long story short, the UNSC agreed to bust you out if we helped them bust this Avery guy out." The orange soldier explained. "I'm higly doubting that we'll be able to get to him, given the fact he's in friggin' solitary".
"Do you expect him to come to us?" Gali asked.
You all know where this is going.
Right on cue, gunfire and a voice yelling "Fall back" could be heard, before suddenly going quiet. The armed individuals within the group raised their weapons, expecting to be faced with some Kingdom Guards.
Instead, it was a black man wearing UNSC fatigues and cap, and carrying a rifle he most likely stole from one of the guards.
"Avery Johnson i assume." Grif said.
"That's Sergeant Major Avery Johnson to you knockoff." He looked to address the group. "You mind tellin' me why you have a clone with ya?"
"Long story. We'll tell ya on the way home. The clone's good according to Tucker and Gali.
"I have a name. It's Kix."
"Hey guys. I really want to get pizza, so if we could just...you know...leave."
"Most professional solider in the galaxy." Chips snarked.
"No time for sass Private Dubbo. There'll be plenty of time back home for that." Johnson said as the Pelican dropped ropes down. "Don't look down." Avery joked.
"Why gravity. Why have you forsaken me." Grif complained as started to climb.
When everyone was aboard, they couldn't have gotten outta there faster. The rest of the UNSC got the word that Johnson and Tucker were secured, and followrd suit.
"Oh, and Kix?"Johnson said.
"Hmh." The clone turned.
"Welcome to the resistance."
"...which brings us to where we found you, on the road back to the land of the living", finished Gavner.
"That's a lot to take in", said Captain America.
"You can say that again", added Quark. "Still sounds better than the Void though..."
"They've already taken so many worlds..." said Gavner. "Seems like they can just convince people to accept them so easily. Most worlds have lost before they even know they're being invaded..."
"Most worlds never realise", added Kopaka. "After everything the Makuta and Dark Hunters did, it was easy to get the Matoran to associate powers of darkness with evil - I wouldn't have really questioned it myself. Then suddenly Tahu was on their hit list because a Makuta controlled him once long ago, and I seemed to be the only one standing up to them... and look where that got me... "
"Even those Dalek things", said Gavner. "From what I heard they're usually the most xenophobic race in existence, killing anyone who's not a Dalek. And now the Kingdom's got them to agree only Darkness-followers need Exterminated? That's got to be some kind of mass hypnosis or spell or something..."
"I don't suppose this could help?" asked Captain America, holding out a small cloth pouch inscribed with Chinese characters.
Kopaka studied the item carefully, the lens of his Akaku mask adjusting for a better look. "Where did you get that?" he asked.
"Uncle gave it to me before we... got separated", he explained. "He said he prepared it in case anyone bound him with a spell... but also that it wouldn't work on the elementals..."
No good for freeing the people from Kingdom brainwashing, at least not on any major scale... thought Kopaka. But I might have an alternate use...
"We've got a quick detour to make..."
