The story continues right off after the events of the first story, Wreck-It Ralph: The Gamer. Josh is living a gamers life until one day his Father's Arcade receives a new game. And that game, Cyrus the Virus shows not all game villains can be trusted. So now Josh and his friends are up against a new enemy. And some new and old characters will join the fight.

Chapter 37 - Not Reality, Actuality (Part 2) Finally

Random Location…

Josh pulls over. The three get out and look around the area that E.D.I. guided them to stating this is a place Cyrus was 'looking' in to.

"Huh…" Felix says looking around

Josh crosses his arms just seeing an empty parking lot.

"You sure were at the right place E.D.I.?"

Josh puts his finger to his ear to listen to E.D.I. better.

"Yes. You are exactly in the right spot Josh."

"It's a parking lot E.D.I."

"I know."

Josh scuffs seeing that E.D.I. knew what the location was and she sent Josh and them to it anyway.

"Thanks E.D.I. Next time before we go to the next location, you tell me what is first and I'll decide if it's worth checking out."

"As you wish Josh."

Josh sighs and turns around.

"A.I.'s…"

Felix and Ralph look around. Josh notices them just standing there.

"Ralph. Felix', the two turn around and Josh opens the driver's side door, 'Let's go."

"Okay." Felix says hoping through the passenger window

Ralph climbs aboard in the bed. The truck jumps up in front in midair for a second and lands back down.

"Easy will ya!"

"Sorry."

Josh puts the truck in gear and speeds off back onto the main street. Driving around, heading to the next destination. Josh looks out the window. He looks a bit anxious, like he's wanting something. Josh taps his fingers on the steering wheel repeatedly. He starts to hum and bob his head around. Felix turns and sees how strange Josh is acting. Josh looks out through his middle rearview mirror and sees nothing but Ralph.

"Oh yeah, that doesn't looks suspicious."

"What?"

"Oh, just the giant red dot hanging outside the truck."

"I'm sorry?"

Josh sighs and looks down at Felix.

"Ralph Felix. I'm talking about Ralph."

Felix blinks realizing.

"Oh."

"I heard that!"

Josh looks up at the roof.

"You were meant to. And I'm sorry. I'm just…a bit on edge that's all."

Josh drives a little faster. Felix feels the speed Josh is going and fastens his seatbelt a bit more.

"Are we in a hurry?"

"You can say that."

"Why?"

"Because I want to get this done."

"Why?"

"Because I believe this is a wild goose chase by Cyrus himself."

"But then maybe it's not."

Josh rolls his eyes.

"Yeah, there's that too."

"Are we just in a hurry to just get this done?"

Josh shakes his head hearing the questions Felix is asking.

"If I wanted to bring Elizabeth along I would have. Now I got to hear you ask a million questions?"

"I apologize Josh but you're in an awful hurry. Ralph's even having trouble hanging on."

Josh smirks.

"Yeah right."

Josh looks to his side outside the door in the rearview mirror. He literally sees Ralph digging his hands into the roof trying to hang on.

"WHOA!" Ralph yells

Felix looks back.

"I think Ralph's having trouble."

"No. He's fine. He's a big boy."

"Josh!" Felix yells

"I'm sorry, I really just want to get home!"

"Why!?" Felix says bracing himself

Josh makes a sharp left. Ralph and Felix hold on to dear life as Josh straightens the car. Felix fixes his hat and looks back at Josh.

"Well…let's just say Felix I got something very cold at home that needs…', Josh smiles, 'a little warming up."

"Huh…you're Root Beer?"

Josh's smile goes away really quickly.

"Felix. You drink that stuff cold, not hot."

"Oh. Then what then?"

Josh sighs.

"You have so much to learn Felix."

Josh floors it heading to the next location.

Josh's Apartment…

Near dusk…

Elizabeth looks out the window and sees the sun going down. The night sky starts to come in with an orange haze in the distance. Calhoun walks over and sees Elizabeth staring hard out the window.

"They'll be back soon."

"I know." Elizabeth says still looking out the window

Calhoun leans in closer towards Elizabeth.

"He'll be back."

Elizabeth sort of smiles and still looks out the window seeing the sun and orange haze completely gone and now darkness.

"I know."

Calhoun nods and walks away. Plague and Vanellope watch TV together. Vanellope watches Nascar. She's really enjoying it. Plague on the other hand, looks tired. Annoyed with her hand on her face leaning against the edge.

"Can we change the channel?"

Vanellope's attention is so centered on the TV. She's almost leaning off the sofa.

"No." Vanellope says in a daze

"This is so boring kid, the cars just go around in circles. Over and over again."

"I know. Isn't it great?" Vanellope says looking forward

Plague sighs.

"Well, it's time for a new lap."

Plague grabs the remote and changes it to an action film. She sits back getting relaxed. Vanellope flinches seeing what Plague just did.

"Yeah. This is more like it."

"Hey! Turn it back!"

"I'm not watching cars drive around in circles no more."

"But I want to!"

Vanellope reaches out trying to reach the remote. Plague stops her holding it up high out of her reach. Vanellope struggles, jumping and whining.

"Come on!"

"No."

Elizabeth turns around and sees what Plague is doing to Vanellope. Vanellope continues, pooring all effort into reaching the remote. Plague just calmly watches TV. Elizabeth drops her arms and walks on over to the scene. Plague continues to hold the remote up high. Elizabeth walks behind the couch. Vanellope is about to give up and Plague notices.

"There, see? Quit while you're ahead."

Vanellope sits down, far away from Plague. Elizabeth turns her eyes at Plague as she lowers the remote.

"Now just sit there and be quiet."

Elizabeth shakes her head and snatches the remote out of Plague's hand. Plague sees and spins around.

"Hey!"

Elizabeth changes the channel back to the race. Vanellope looks and sees the race back on. She looks back and sees that Elizabeth changed it back. Plague waves her finger back and forth indicating she wants the remote back.

"Remote. Now."

"You want this?" Elizabeth asks displaying the remote

"Yes. Now."

"Sure."

Elizabeth holds the remote tightly and literally freezes it into an ice cube. Plague blinks and Elizabeth hands her the remote back.

"Careful now. It's a little cold. If you try to melt it, the remote might go with it. 'Quit while your ahead'. Right?" Elizabeth asks walking away

Plague narrows her eyes and drops the remote.

"You know this is going to cost you.', Elizabeth looks back, 'And to think I was going to give you another 'lesson' to make Josh drool all over you."

Elizabeth waves back her hair.

"I think I can handle him."

Plague rolls her eyes and swooshes out of there. She swooshes back into her room and crashes down on her bed.

The Factory…

Garage…

The emergency lights stay on being aimed at the entrances. Suddenly the ground starts to shake and the lights crack. They still shine but suddenly essence of dark shadows blow the light bulbs up. Darkness suddenly appears and looks around the pitch dark Garage. He looks behind him, waving his hand. Darklings appear and Darkness looks ahead.

"Get her…"

The darklings nod and rush forward appearing and disappearing into the darkness.

Josh's Apartment…

All is quiet. All the girls are doing their own thing. Calhoun's at the table cleaning her gun. Vanellope sits on the couch now, playing Super Mario Kart on the Wii. She's out in first, of course. Elizabeth is cleaning the Kitchen. She's humming to herself. The Apartment is lit pretty well. But suddenly all the lights and TV go out. The girls flinch and jump seeing nothing but darkness all around.

"Uh…Calhoun?" Vanellope asks

"Stay where you are Vanellope.', grabs gun, 'Elizabeth?"

"Right here."

"Where's Plague?"

"In her room." Elizabeth answers

"I'll go get her. See if you two can get the power back on. Get E.D.I. back too." Calhoun says walking towards the Rooms

Elizabeth nods and walks over to Vanellope.

"Vanellope?" Elizabeth calls out for

Vanellope walks around, with her hands out trying to not bump into anything.

"Here."

Elizabeth follows her voice. She grabs something that she thinks is Vanellope.

"Got you."

"What?"

"I'm holding your hand. Don't be scared."

"Uh…', Vanellope looks around, 'You're not holding my hand."

Elizabeth slowly gulps trying to see what she's holding.

"If this isn't your hand Vanellope, then whose hand am I holding?"

Suddenly a slight growl is heard. Vanellope and Elizabeth looks worried and scared. Elizabeth raises her other hand creating a frozen fist.

"E.D.I.?" Elizabeth calls out for

You don't see E.D.I. on screen because of the power, but her voice shouts out through the Apartment.

"Yes Elizabeth?"

"Could you please turn on some lights?"

"I can try, I've been redirecting power. Just give me one second."

Some time passes. Elizabeth lets go of what she was holding and backs up into the couch. Vanellope looks around and reaches Josh's work station and hides under the table. More growling is heard, a bunch of growling. Elizabeth breathes heavily and suddenly the lights turn on. Revealing a bunch of darklings screeching from the bright light. Elizabeth screams and finally Calhoun and Plague run into the Apartment seeing the darklings.

"What…" Calhoun starts

"THE HELL!?"

The darklings growl and start attacking. Elizabeth, Calhoun and Plague fight the darklings. Some get burned by the lights and attack them to break them. They destroy the Apartment a bit. Plague burns a few parts here and there. Calhoun shoots holes in the floor, walls and ceilings. Elizabeth freezes objects and opening random rips around. The last darkling breaks the last light and once again, its pitch black in the room. The only light on is the moon shining barely in the Apartment.

All is quiet in the Apartment. Calhoun holds her gun firmly holding out a flashlight against it. Plague holds her sword in her right hand. In her other hand, she emits off her red aura looking around carefully in the darkness. Elizabeth walks very slowly looking around. She spins around thinking she heard something. Vanellope slowly crawls out from under the desk and gets near the couch.

"Is it over?" Vanellope asks

"Vanellope, stay where you are." Calhoun orders

Vanellope hugs the corner of the couch. Elizabeth walks in front of Plague and Calhoun. Their backs are turn and Elizabeth sees. Suddenly Darkness rises up from the dark in front of Elizabeth and she sees.

"Surprise."

"AHHHHH!" Elizabeth screams

Plague and Calhoun turn around.

"HEY! Calhoun yells

She points her flashlight at Darkness and he gets burned a little.

"Ow!"

Darkness waves his hand and pushes the two back far and into the wall hard. Vanellope just watches as Darkness grabs hold of Elizabeth by her neck and sucks her down into the floor.

"Elizabeth!"

Vanellope jumps where Darkness sucked Elizabeth through and sees nothing but floor.

"Elizabeth! Elizabeth!"

Vanellope looks up and sees Plague and Calhoun out.

"Guys!"

Vanellope rushes to Plague and Calhoun and finds them still knocked out.

A few blocks away from the Factory…

Josh drives back. Ralph is half asleep in the bed of the truck laying down leaning against the back windows of the cap. Ralph bobs his head trying to stay awake but ends up shutting his eyes. In the cab, Josh drives while Felix looks out the window with his hand on his face. Felix seems tired but reserved. Josh looks over and sees the look on his face.

"You okay Felix?"

"Hmm?', Felix asks turning, shakes head, 'Oh I'm fine. I'm fine. Thanks for asking Josh."

"You sure? You seem distracted."

Felix thinks for a second.

"Well, if I must be honest. I was a little concerned about that last place where we went to."

Josh blinks shaking his head.

"It's best if you forget about what you saw Felix. Trust me."

"I'm trying. I'm trying brother." Felix says with a blank stare on his face looking ahead

Josh sighs.

"You can't can you?"

Felix takes off his hat and wipes the sweat off his head.

"It burning into my brain."

Josh makes a face and makes a turn.

"Good to know you're developing your human sides Felix."

"How…can people…', Felix gulps hard, 'Women especially act in that sort of way?"

Josh sighs.

"The only thing that comes into mind Felix is money."

"Money?!" Felix says calmly but quickly

"Gotta make the dollar Felix."

"But in that sort of way?"

Josh nods with a funny look on his face.

"Trust me Felix. And I also warn you. Forget, I repeat, FORGET what you saw."

"I will. I will."

"Because if Calhoun finds out."

Felix covers his mouth and gasps.

"I forgot about Tamora."

Josh starts to laugh. Felix looks and sees Josh just laughing trying to drive.

"You think this is funny?"

Josh puts up his hand closing two of his fingers.

"Just a bit."

"Well I don't."

"It's okay Felix. You're a man. You can forget you're married for a couple seconds. Or minutes."

"I will have you know I have forgotten what I've seen."

"Oh really?"

"Yes."

"So Felix, what did you think of that blonde one?"

"Well I think she…"

Felix pauses and Josh just snickers looking back at the road.

"Well Mr. Lighting. Let me ask you this."

"What?"

"What did you think?"

Josh shakes his head seeing what Felix is trying to do.

"Is this really your play Felix?"

"I'm just asking."

"I'm not answering that Felix."

"Ah ha!"

Josh flinches looking at Felix and back at the road.

"Why are you so happy?"

"You were eyeing them for a reason. Now I finally see it."

Josh rolls his eyes.

"Oh please Felix."

"You were. Staring actually."

"I was checking for any trace of the virus."

"Knew you were going to say that." Felix says looking out the window

Josh rolls his eyes.

"Just so were clear Felix. And I'm being DEAD, HONEST…none of those girls back there spark my interest whatsoever."

Felix blinks and looks back at Josh.

"Oh?"

"Yes. 'Oh'."

"Then what kind of girl sparks your interest?"

Josh sighs looking at the road ahead. Felix waits for an answer and Josh thinks seeing Elizabeth smiling and laughing.

"I…', thinks for another second, 'I like a girl who's smarter than me."

"That won't be to hard."

Josh turns looking funny at Felix. Felix shrugs and Josh looks back at the road.

"So, what else?"

Josh thinks for a moment.

"Dark brown hair…blue eyes…genuine smile…"

"Uh-huh…go on."

"How much detail do you need?"

"I'm just curious."

Josh shakes his head in an annoying way.

"About my height but shorter than me. That's enough to satisfy your curiosity little guy?"

"Yes. Yes is it."

Josh gets relaxed and sighs relaxingly.

"Good."

"If I didn't know any better Josh. I could have sworn you were describing Elizabeth."

Josh thinks for a moment and realizes he was describing Elizabeth.

"I didn't say 'rip powers or ice' Felix."

"But you did describe her in general."

Josh smiles but quickly hides it.

"I wasn't describing her Felix."

"I've seen the way you two look at each other."

"Shouldn't you pay more attention to Calhoun Felix? For your safety I mean."

"The way your eyes flow. Connect."

"Felix."

"It's almost the way I felt when I first saw my beautiful Tamora."

"She kicked you and shoved her gun in your face."

"I still saw how beautiful her high-definition face was.

Josh just laughs finally seeing his Home.

"Enough about my 'relationship' with Elizabeth Felix."

"Wait, there is!?"

"Felix! I didn't mean it like that."

Josh pulls in and the door to the Garage shoots up.

The Garage…

Josh pulls in around. He and Felix get out and Josh walks back to Ralph who is still half asleep.

"Ralph?', a moment passes by, 'Ralph.', Josh says firmer, points staff at Ralph, 'RALPH!"

Josh unleashes a powerful electrical and winter blast at Ralph as it hits his head. Ralph shoots up as Josh leans against his staff. He looks around as if nothing happened.

"Are we back?" Ralph asks tiredly

"Yes. How you feeling? Cold? Shockingly?"

"I actually feel pretty good."

Josh looks confused.

"Really?"

"I had this weird dream where I was on laying on an ice cube…and lightening was hitting around me."

Josh rubs his face slowly smiling.

"Get off the bed Ralph, were back."

"Oh. Finally."

Ralph jumps off the bed and follows the two short men to the elevator. Josh stretches slowly putting his hand to his ear.

"I'll tell the ladies were coming back.', clears throat, 'Oooooh ladies….your bright, short and tall night and shining armor are back. Ladies?"

The three stop and look at each other. There's no response. Just dead silence. Josh touches his ear again.

"Calhoun? Vanellope! Plague? Elizabeth!?"

"What's going on?" Felix asks

"Why isn't anyone responding?" Ralph asks looking down

Josh starts to get nervous.

"Vanellope! Calhoun! Elizabeth! PLAGUE! Someone answer!"

Josh looks at the elevator and runs up it. Felix and Ralph follow as Josh throws up the door and flies up to his Apartment.

Josh's Apartment…

Josh lands in his Apartment and looks around. His entire Apartment is trashed.

"The hell happened?"

Josh looks ahead and sees Calhoun on the floor.

"Calhoun!"

Josh rushes over and rolls her over. Calhoun is halfway out of it looking like she's taken a beating.

"Calhoun. Calhoun!"

Calhoun starts to snap out of it.

"Wha…What?"

"Are you okay?"

Calhoun weakly grabs her gun and Josh holds it down.

"Calhoun it's me, Josh!"

Calhoun opens her eyes, a little blurry, she sees Josh.

"Josh…"

"What happened Calhoun?"

Suddenly, Felix and Ralph finally make it up. Ralph throws up the door and the two run out seeing the condition of the Apartment. Felix covers his mouth with one hand.

"Oh my."

"I didn't do this. I'm stating that now."

Josh looks back and waves Felix over.

"Felix! Come over here."

Felix looks and runs over at Josh seeing Calhoun on the floor.

"Tamora!"

"She's fine Felix, just stay with her." Josh explains standing up

Josh walks around looking for the rest of the girls. Felix stays with Calhoun as Josh looks around.

"Vanellope! Vanellope!"

Josh runs into the Rooms and up to Vanellope's door. She barges in and doesn't see Vanellope at all.

"Vanellope!" Josh yells running back out

But just as Josh runs away, Vanellope comes out, out of her bed.

"Josh!"

Josh looks back and sees Vanellope running toward him. He kneels down and the two embrace.

"There you are. You're okay. You're okay."

Josh picks Vanellope up and brings her back to his Apartment. He walks out and looks at Ralph. Josh walks to Ralph and he sees her coming.

"Watch her Ralph. Don't let her out of your sight."

"Come here kid."

Ralph picks up Vanellope and places her on his shoulder. Vanellope breathes heavily, scared, frightened out of her mind. Josh looks around looking for the other half.

"Plague! Elizabeth!"

Suddenly Josh's door gets knocked on. Josh looks and it happens again. He pulls out his gun and staff and slowly walks towards it. Josh gets closer and closer to his door and pulls it open with his staff. As he does, a sword pops out and Josh slides out of the way.

"Whoa!"

Plague swooshes out and appears behind Josh. The two quickly turn around and see each other.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Plague! It's me!"

Plague, like a bat out of hell holding her sword firmly breathing heavily. Darkling 'blood', black ooze covering different parts of her body. Josh narrows his eyes and lowers his weapons.

"Calm down, it's me."

Plague blinks and lowers her sword.

"Welcome home."

"What happened?"

"Darkness. THAT'S what happened."

"Darkness? That's impossible. Our security measures…"

"The security measures didn't do shit since he just appeared in HERE."

Josh blinks seeing all the work was for absolutely nothing. He looks back at Plague.

"Where's Elizabeth?', Plague thinks for a second looking away, Josh sees and looks harder, 'Where's Elizabeth Plague?!"

Plague looks back remembering. She looks serious at Josh who's looking just like her.

"Darkness took her."

Josh's expression changes. From being serious to shocked/confused. He blinks like he heard something crazy. Like something like that couldn't happen. Josh looks beyond Plague and walks forward.

"Elizabeth! Elizabeth! Come out! We're back! Elizabeth!"

Plague rolls her eyes and sighs hard.

"She's not here! She was taken!"

Josh rubs his head brushing his hair back.

"Elizabeth!"

Plague walks up to Josh and spins him around.

"She's not here! Get it in your thick, electrified skull!"

Josh pushes Plague's hand away and looks around frantically.

"Don't tell me that! She's here. I know it. She's…she's just hiding. Elizabeth!"

Plague gives up trying to convince Josh. Calhoun finally stands up seeing Josh looking around desperately for Elizabeth.

"Josh…', Josh still searches, gets serious, 'JOSH!"

Josh stops breathing heavily looking back at Calhoun.

"WHAT?" Josh asks grinding his teeth

"Darkness took her."

Josh breathes and sees everyone looking at him. Vanellope looks at Josh agreeing with what Plague and Calhoun said. Josh blinks trying to figure out what to say next.

"Why? Why, why, why? Where did Darkness take her?"

"Darkness wasn't exactly in a talking mood. We were a little busy dealing with his darklings." Plague explains

Josh points hard at Plague.

"Don't, PUSH me Plague."

Plague waves her hand off at Josh. Josh puts his hands to his face thinking.

"Okay, so Darkness took Elizabeth…probably for Cyrus. But why does Cyrus need Elizabeth? To get back at me? Get under my skin?"

"One of the two." Plague comments

Josh looks serious at Plague.

"There's a reason why Cyrus took her. He's planning something. We have to find her."

"How? We have no idea where she's at." Calhoun states

Josh thinks for a second and rubs his ear. He suddenly realizes and snaps his thumbs.

"I got it!', Josh quickly spins around, 'E.D.I.!"

E.D.I. appears on screen.

"Yes Josh?"

"Track Elizabeth's ear piece and find her locations."

"Scanning…"

Josh waits impatiently as everyone slowly approaches seeing what Josh is doing.

"What are you doing?" Calhoun asks

"All our earpieces contain a GPS, will find Elizabeth's location and get her back."

"That's something you might have wanted to tell us." Calhoun states

Josh turns back looking dead serious at Calhoun.

"NOT. NOW."

Calhoun backs off. Josh looks back at the screen and E.D.I. finds something.

"I have her location."

"Great! Show it to me."

E.D.I. shows a blinking icon of Elizabeth's location. It beeps and beeps showing exactly where Elizabeth is at. E.D.I. brings up the address of some Mental Institution. Josh narrows his eyes.

"A Mental Institution? Why the hell is Cyrus there with Elizabeth?"

"A better question is, what the hell is he doing there." Plague

"I'll ask him when we get there."

Josh turns around walking past everyone to the elevator. Everyone turns around watching Josh board the elevator.

"Wait, you're just going to go there?" Calhoun asks

"Yeah. I plan on checking myself in. Anyone want to come?"

"Josh, we need to come up with a plan."

"Here's the plan: Get in, Get Elizabeth, GET CYRUS."

"We need a more concrete plan." Calhoun says

"It doesn't get any more concrete than that Calhoun!"

"Josh, just wait and listen…" Calhoun tries to explain

"NO!', Josh yells throwing his staff up, everyone flinches except Plague, 'You all can stay back if you want but I'm going. If you want to come, God bless you."

Josh grabs the door. Plague smirks and swooshes right next to Josh. Josh sees and nods. He looks back at everyone and waits.

"Well?"

The four look at each other and back at Josh. They walk slowly at Josh as he shuts the door and hits the button hard.

"I'm coming for you Elizabeth."

The elevator goes down heading to the Garage.

Mental Institution…

Inside one of the Patted Rooms…

Elizabeth sleeps soundly slowing starting to wake up. She bobs her head left and right finally opening her eyes. Thunder strikes from outside and Elizabeth hears it. Elizabeth gets up but can't move. She looks down and sees herself restrained to a bed. She panics trying to break free. Thunder strikes again and yelling can be heard. Elizabeth looks and suddenly Cyrus opens the door to the Patten Room and Elizabeth looks. Cyrus walks in looking down at the restrained Elizabeth as she looks hard at him.

"Cyrus."

Cyrus stops alongside the bed.

"Elizabeth. Different seeing you in person then behind a screen."

Elizabeth struggles as she tries to break free from the restraints. Cyrus rubs the tip of his nose looking annoyed.

"Breaking free is useless. The restraints are counter active against your powers."

Elizabeth struggles even more.

"Screw you Cyrus."

"Now, now. Don't talk like that. I only need you here for a little while longer.', Elizabeth looks up narrowing her eyes, 'Once I get down with you, your no longer useful to me." Cyrus explains walking back to the door

Cyrus grabs his chest as he touches the door. Elizabeth looks up struggling.

"What do you want from me?!"

Cyrus stops and pauses for a moment. Elizabeth waits and finally Cyrus turns around.

"You have this whole idea wrong Elizabeth. I don't exactly need 'you'.', Elizabeth narrows her eyes, 'I just need what you can do." Cyrus explains closing the door

Thunder strikes again and Elizabeth tries her hardest to break free from the restraints.

Outside the Mental Institution…

A Block Away…

Josh drives angrily ignoring everything around him. Ralph holds on as it starts to rain a little. Everyone holds on to Josh's crazy driving. Josh looks up ahead and sees the Mental Institution.

"There it is!"

Josh slams on the brakes really hard almost causing everyone to smash their head. Ralph almost flies off as Josh jumps out running to the giant, tall iron gates to the Mental Institution. Josh struggles as he can't get the gates open.

"Come on you son of a bitch! OPEN UP!"

Everyone catches up to Josh seeing him acting the way he is. Josh looks back and points at Ralph.

"Ralph! Open the door!', Ralph pauses seeing how Josh is acting, 'NOW!"

Ralph flinches and rushes forward. Josh steps back and Ralph punches the gates hard smashing them into pieces. Ralph backs up and Josh runs ahead.

"Josh!" Calhoun yells

Josh runs down the long pathway leading to the Mental Institution in the distance. Everyone runs after Josh. The thunder in the sky starts getting louder.

"Josh! JOSH WAIT!" Calhoun yells

"Elizabeth is in there! We got to get her!"

"Not like this! This is probably a trap! Just stop!"

Josh slides on the ground and looks back. He stares hard at his friends.

"Whatever Cyrus is planning…I don't care. He can throw the entire world as me. In which he already has…', everyone just watches as they begin to see Josh's dark side, Vanellope begins to look scared, 'Cyrus can destroy my life, but he's not getting Elizabeth!', Josh turns around looking up, a security camera is pointed right at him, Josh begins to show off throwing his arms up, 'You hear me Cyrus!? You hear me you son of a bitch?!"

Josh runs forward and everyone races after Josh to slow him down. The thunder strikes hard around Josh as he ignores the bolts and continues on.

"I'M NOT LETTING YOU TAKE HER YOU HEAR ME?! TAKE ME IF YOU WANT! HUH?! YOU FRICKIN PIECE OF SHITT!"

The thunder strikes even hard. The area begins to get foggy really quick. The gang loses sight of Josh as he disappears. The wind starts to pick up almost pushing Josh back. But Josh ignores it. Josh uses all his strength to run forward.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

A white blast ensues and Josh shuts his eyes hard kneeling down. Josh breathes slowly opening his eyes. His breath can be seen as he breathes. Josh narrows his eyes and feels cold for some reason. He slowly stands up and looks around.

"What the?"

The entire area is completely different. Everything is covered in snow.

"Snow?"

Josh turns back looking for his friends, but there gone. There not even there no more. Josh puts his finger to his ears.

"Guys do you copy?', nothing, 'Does anyone copy? Did anyone see what just happened? Does anyone read me?!" Josh yells

Nothing but static. Josh turns back at the Mental Institution and sees it somewhat…older looking. He looks down at the snow he's standing in. Josh kneels down and picks it up. Yep, it's snow all right.

"Winter? But it's June."

Josh drops the snow looking around in a confused way. He runs ahead at the Mental Institution ahead.

"Elizabeth! Elizabeth!"

Josh runs up the steps and to the doors ahead. As Josh gets to the doors, a small rip opens up behind him without his knowing. Elizabeth's voice can be heard.

"Get your hands off of me!" Elizabeth screams from the rip

Josh slides looking around.

"Elizabeth?"

"AHHH! Stop it!"

Josh turns around and sees the half open rip.

"Elizabeth? Elizabeth! Can you hear me?!" Josh yells running to the rip

But as Josh reaches the rip it disappears. Josh looks around and back at the doors to the Institution. He runs at them, opens them and gets inside.

The Mental Institution…

Josh uses all his strength to open the doors. He finally manages to get inside and slams the doors behind him. Josh catches his breath and looks around. He stops and pauses seeing how old, decayed and worn out everything is.

"What the hell is going on?', looks around, 'This place looks like no one's been around for decades…but I just saw how brand new it looked."

Josh takes a step forward looking around, being careful where he steps. Up ahead, down the hall, another rip opens up with Elizabeth's voice coming from it.

"I don't want to go back! Please!', Josh looks at the rip, 'I hate that Tower! I'm never going back!"

Josh runs ahead.

"Elizabeth!"

As Josh makes it to the rip, it disappears and Josh waves his hand around seeing it completely gone.

"Damn it."

Josh runs ahead, this time no rip appears, but Elizabeth's voice can be heard.

"Please…Please…just stop this…"

Josh looks back wondering where Elizabeth's voice is coming from. He looks up ahead and sees a sign saying 'Great Hall'. Josh opens the doors, and as he does, he slowly looks up seeing a giant hand crafted monument statue of Cyrus. He looks closer seeing it's Cyrus.

"Cyrus?', shakes head, 'What the hell is going on here? Where am I? Another alternate world?"

Josh runs ahead at the bottom of the statue. There's a small display case stating a small explanation of the person above.

"'The Man Standing Before You Is Named Cyrus, Cyrus the Virus. World Leader and Ruler', Oh come on…"

Josh looks around rubbing his head again brushing his hair back. He looks back and sees a spiral staircase behind the statue. Josh runs up it, and again, Elizabeth's voice comes back.

"What is this place?! What are you trying to do to me!? What do you want!"

Josh makes it around the corner and sees the rip disappear. He sighs hard and walks ahead. Josh makes it to the 'Resting Area' and opens the doors. As Josh enters, strange like men stand around as if there in pain. Josh looks ahead and sees he's not alone in the room. He looks around and sees these people somewhat distracted. Josh grabs his staff and walks forward avoiding these 'people'.

As Josh travels through the room quietly, he bumps into a table and a glass falls off shattering into a million pieces and echoing through the massive room. Josh looks up and the people turn around. He blinks quickly seeing that these people aren't people, but husks. But not the same kind of husks, they look human, but no ruptured skin and showing signs of the virus. But their eyes, there blood orange. Josh holds his staff firmly.

"Wonderful…."

The husks/people GROWL hard at Josh and run at him. Josh sees them coming and hits them with his staff. They don't break up into a million pieces like they normally do. They just fall down from getting hit hard from his staff. More and more of these husks/people come running at Josh and he runs away. As Josh runs away he doesn't know where to go. Suddenly Elizabeth starts crying and screaming for help. Josh follows the scream and hears it coming from an elevator at the other side of the room. He runs at it and throws a bolt at it to start it up opening the doors. Josh squeezes through the crack as the husks/people try to get in. Josh hits them back so the doors can close and it finally does.

Josh takes a moment to catch his breath. Something strange is happening around here and Josh is thinking that he's right in the middle. Josh leans up against the elevator wall looking up at the half on fixture light beaming on and off. He slowly looks down and suddenly another rip appears in front of him of Elizabeth's voice.

"Please…Please just tell me what this place is…I'll…I'll go back to my Tower. I swear."

"Elizabeth?"

Suddenly Cyrus's voice comes into the rip.

"It's to late for that Elizabeth. Have you forgotten, Josh destroyed it. You have no home."

"Josh did destroy it to only to get me out!"

The rip disappears. Josh rubs his head and looks around. The elevator stops on the 'Examination Rooms'. Josh slowly gets out and looks around. He puts his staff on his back and pulls out his gun. Josh walks down the empty, cold hallway looking around at all the empty rooms. He passes a room up witch suddenly opens up a rip.

"You're hurting me…" Elizabeth says faintly

Josh stops and turns around. He walks back to the room and sees a chair with restraints on it. The rip appears above it and Josh just watches.

"Quit your whining." Cyrus orders

"You're hurting me Cyrus. Just…Just let me go!"

"I will. As soon as I get what I want."

"What do you want!? Why are you doing this?!"

"To cure everyone."

"No one is sick!"

"Not yet. But they will. When the time comes Elizabeth. You will understand why I am doing this."

Josh rubs his eyes really hard and the rip disappears. He looks down at the restraints and sees small amounts of faded blood. Josh gulps and ventures down the long hallway. As he does another rip appears ahead. Some man's voice can be heard.

"Umm, hello Elizabeth. My-My name is Doctor Freelander. I'm going to look after you today."

"Don't…don't you…touch me…" Elizabeth says weakly

"There's no point in resisting. Even after all this time you've been here with us. Must I remind you, your friend…Josh or whatever his name is. He never came for you. He just left you. You need to give up on him."

"He…will…come for me."

The rip disappears. Josh holds his gun firmly.

"That's right. I'm coming Elizabeth."

Josh runs ahead and kicks down a set of double doors leading to the 'Offices'. Josh looks around, seeing the snow, dust, and decaying furniture around. He walks ahead seeing another set of double doors exiting the Offices. As he walks through, another rip appears of two doctors talking.

"She is remarkable."

"I'll say."

"I had no idea a girl with a power like that can…change so much."

"You said it."

Josh stops and looks back.

"But I still don't understand why Cyrus put it in her in the first place. He could have just saved his time and…gave it to himself."

"It's better not to ask those sort of questions."

"A lot of mystery. That's all I have to say."

The rip disappears. Josh turns back around and walks to the double doors. He walks through them and sees a squared staircase. Josh walks up to it and sees a giant hole in the ceiling with snow pouring through it. He looks down and sees the bottom of the staircase just blocked off.

"I guess I'm going up."

Josh starts walking up and around. As he does, in the center of the staircase in mid-air, a rip appears with Cyrus and another Doctor talking.

"Preparations are almost complete Mr. Cyrus."

"Good. I've been waiting for this for a long time now."

"Mr. Cyrus, may I ask you a question."

"What?"

"Once you get what you want from the girl, what will you do with her?"

"What do you mean?"

"Once you have what you've been waiting for, doesn't the girl seem useless?"

A moment passes by.

"Mr. Cyrus?"

"I'll think of something. I always do."

The rip disappears. Josh looks at it as it disappears and continues on up. Josh makes it to the top and comes to a room labeled, 'Supplies'. Josh walks on through and sees shelves and shelves of medical equipment used for surgery. He gulps at all the horrifying equipment. A rip appears. A Doctor and Elizabeth.

"Drink up Elizabeth. You have yet another surgery for tomorrow. Your going to need your strength. What's the matter? Are you still hoping 'Josh' will come barging through those doors and rescuing you?"

Nathan waves it off and continues on. He walks in front of the rip and almost out of the room.

"It's been five months!"

Josh stops walking and slowly looks back in a confused way.

"Five months?"

Josh walks back to it and it disappears. He forms a fist and turns around. Josh runs for it running down the hallway. A door at the end of the hallway says, 'Elevator to Main Penthouse'. Josh runs through it and looks around. He looks to the side and sees the elevator. Josh walks to it and presses it. The elevator is all the way at the top so it's going to take a while. Josh crosses his arms and waits. He looks around. As Josh looks around, he takes a step forward stepping on something. Josh looks down and sees it's a tap recorder labeled 'Confessions'. He narrows his eyes and picks it up. Josh blows on it and pushes play.

"I cannot stop what I'm doing…"

"Elizabeth?"

"What Cyrus turned me into…cannot be undone. The events of the world are not Cyrus's doing. They are mine. One parallel universe after another. They are all the same. No matter how different they are. They always have the same ending."

Josh leans against the wall.

"But perhaps…something can change. Something must change. Perhaps I…can stop it from ever happening…Should I get my hopes up? I don't know anymore…but being able…to see him again…for the first time I ever saw him…my hopes were ever…at their highest."

Josh blinks and looks at the tap recorder. He drops it and looks around. Suddenly the elevator DINGS and Josh looks. He runs on and hits the button for the Penthouse. The elevator goes up and Josh waits impatiently. In the elevator, Josh breathes slowly wondering what is happening? Is he in another parallel universe? One of Elizabeth's rips? Josh rubs his head and suddenly his nose starts hurting. He rubs it and finds out his nose is bleeding.

"Oh no…"

"AHHHH! AHHHHHHHH!" Elizabeth yells screaming

Josh looks up and hears the faint cry outs of Elizabeth.

"Elizabeth!? ELIZABETH! I'M COMING! I'M ALMOST THERE! Come on you stupid piece of shit! MOVE! GO!"

The elevator rings indicating he's arrived. The doors kind of open and Josh squeezes through.

"Elizabeth!"

Josh runs forward but stops. He looks forward and sees that it was just another rip.

"It's…a rip…it's only a damn RIP!"

The rip disappears. Josh looks ahead and sees the doors of the 'Penthouse'. Josh looks serious and walks towards them. He kicks them down and looks around at the vast openness of the Penthouse. There's nothing around, except old looking furniture and decaying walls. Josh looks ahead and sees a dark figure standing in front of one of the tall glass windows.

"Hello?"

Suddenly the doors behind Josh shut quickly and he sees. Josh quickly looks back at the figure and takes a step.

"Are you a husk? Or are you human?"

The dark figure doesn't respond. Josh narrows his eyes holding his gun firmly.

"I will only ask you ONE more time…are you a husk or are you a human…answer me!"

Josh points his gun at the figure but suddenly it ices up and Josh drops it.

"OW!"

Josh looks at the gun and sees it frozen stiff. He looks at his hand as his powers engulf the coldness.

"Have you not seen Josh…they are here as well…not people…not even husks…but something in the middle…is here…in the Institution." Elizabeth says

Josh blinks recognizing Elizabeth's voice. He looks somewhat relived but also confused at the same time.

"All I can do now…is just watch…watch the world…watch the people…watch everything fall apart in the matter of seconds…it took everything from me to bring you here. Everything from me…to just show you what has…become of me…" Elizabeth says in the darkness

Josh slowly takes a step forward breathing slowly.

"Elizabeth? Is…Is that you? Are you all right? I heard you screaming. I was coming for you."

"That was a long time ago Josh."

"What are you talking about? It's only been a few hours."

Elizabeth turns from the dark. She steps forward lending out her hand from inside the darkness. Josh stares at it.

"Take my hand Josh.', Josh stares at it not knowing what to do, 'Please…"

Josh gulps and slowly reaches for Elizabeth's hand. He grabs it and Elizabeth pulls him forward. The light disappears finally revealing Elizabeth. But it's not the Elizabeth Josh knows, this Elizabeth looks older. Much older. Almost by forty years. Her hair is grey. Her eyes are faded blue. Even her voice, it sounds much softer. Wrinkles pour out around her eyes as if she never stopped crying.

"Elizabeth?"

"Follow me Josh."

Old Elizabeth guides Josh to the glass windows. She opens a rip completely changing the scenery. Josh covers his eyes for a second and looks. Ahead of him is just…chaos.

"Oh my God…" Josh says with a horrifying look

In the distance is a city, being burned down with people screaming. Cyrus rain of terror is engulfing everything insight. Destruction is everywhere. Fires burn, people transform into husks. The world of the game Cyrus the Virus is becoming Josh's reality. Elizabeth lets go of Josh's hand and walks forward.

"With the power of one virus…the world changes so quickly.', Elizabeth explains while Josh turns at her, Elizabeth turns at Josh, 'Say what you will about Cyrus…he's always had a fondness for chaos and destruction.', Josh steps back hearing this from Elizabeth, 'It wasn't the torture that broke me. It wasn't the countless surgeries he had me be put through…it was only one thing that really got to me Josh…time.', Josh just blinks, 'Time always gets to you. No matter how long you can last. It comes to hit you one way or another. 'Hope' is what destroyed me."

Josh shakes his head nervously not believing what Elizabeth is telling him.

"I was coming for you Elizabeth. I', shakes head, 'I SWEAR, TO GOD', whole body shakes, 'I was coming for you."

"Cyrus."

"What about him?"

"He always stopped you. No matter what you did. No matter how many times you tried. Cyrus stopped you from getting to me."

"Even if that were true…I would find a way. I ALWAYS, find, a WAY!"

"No Josh."

"Yes Elizabeth!"

Josh takes a step forward and Old Elizabeth puts up her hand stopping him dead in his tracks.

"Forget about me Josh. It is…to late for me. The only reason I brought you here, was to show you what the world will come to if Cyrus lives."

Josh turns his head at the destruction of the world in the distance.

"This…isn't another universe?"

"No. This is the future. Your future and everyone else's. I brought you here so you can change it. Change your fate…and hers.', reaches inside jacket pulling out an envelope, 'Here, take this."

Old Elizabeth lets go of Josh's body. Josh feels he has control over his body again. He looks at the envelope and takes it.

"What is this?"

"When the time is right. Open it. And read it."

Josh stares at it and looks back at Old Elizabeth.

"What does it say Elizabeth?"

"It's a phrase…a phrase that only I and she would know."

"What kind of phrase?"

Old Elizabeth raises her hands up creating a rip sending Josh back to his own time.

"A phrase of commitment. From you to her."

Josh covers his eyes and a powerful white flash goes off. His head spins around seeing random events going off around him in split seconds. Suddenly Josh can hear his name being called out by familiar voices, Vanellope, Ralph and Felix. Josh's breathing is getting heavier, then suddenly he wakes up.

Mental Institution…

Lobby…

Josh shakes and gasps bleeding heavily from his nose.

"Josh! JOSh!" Vanellope yells

Josh rolls around and tries to put things in order. Calhoun comes around and helps him up.

"Breath, just breathe Josh!"

Calhoun places Josh up against the wall while still sitting down. She kneels wiping the blood off from under his nose.

"Are you okay? Do you know where you are?"

Josh looks around aimlessly seeing he's back in the Mental Institution but now it looks like it's brand new.

"What…What happened?"

Plague turns around with her sword drawn. She looks back and sees Josh nearly out of it.

"You collapsed outside and we brought you in."

Josh rubs his head and looks back at Calhoun.

"I collapsed?', thinks for a second and shakes head, 'No, that's impossible."

"That's what happened. Your nose started bleeding and you kept on saying, 'There's still time' over and over again." Calhoun explains

Josh grinds his teeth and looks around finally seeing everything normal.

"Wait…', looks down at hands, 'I'm…I'm back."

Josh tries to push himself up and Calhoun helps.

"Easy now."

Josh rubs his eyes really hard and wipes his nose.

"She…sent me back."

"Who? Calhoun asks

"Sent me back…before she…', looks up, realizes, 'There's still time!"

Josh rushes away, limping a bit. Everyone follows him as he runs down the new hallway.

"Josh what's going on!?" Vanellope asks

"I don't know how to explain it, Elizabeth is here and Cyrus as well. He's trying to get Elizabeth's rip powers out of her."

"How do you even know that?" Plague asks

Josh doesn't answer and continues on. Plague looks back and back up ahead. Josh comes to an intersection. Three different pathways. The group comes up behind Josh and they look around as well.

"Great, which way?" Ralph asks

"She's at one of these hallways." Felix points out

Josh looks ahead and left and right. He closes his eyes and waits. Calhoun turns and sees Josh just standing still with his eyes closed.

"Josh?"

In a faint of a second, Josh hears Elizabeth's scream, quickly opening his eyes and looking ahead.

"She's this way!"

Josh runs forward and everyone follows. He runs even faster. Josh runs around a corner and sees a set of large metal doors. He runs at them and starts banging on them.

"Come on, come on!"

The group runs around the corner seeing Josh kicking and ramming up hard against the door. Josh finally manages to break it open. Inside the giant operating room, several doctors are around Elizabeth doing something to her. Condensers are placed around her to 'ease' her powers from exploding. Above them all, watching from an observation deck, Cyrus watches. Elizabeth struggles trying to break free.

"Get her under control! I only have a small amount of her rips!"

"Were trying Mr. Cyrus but she keeps on resisting!" Doctor yells

"Get her under control then!"

Josh runs forward and Cyrus sees.

"Josh?"

"CYRUS! What the hell are you doing to her!? LEAVE HER ALONE!"

Cyrus smiles and grabs the microphone.

"Mr. Litwak. Long time no see. My time with your precious friend will be over shortly, so if you don't mind…"

"SCREW YOU!"

"JOSH!" Elizabeth cries out for

Josh looks beyond the glass and sees the doctors trying to do something, or pull something out of her. He looks around and sees the condensers at full power stabilizing Elizabeth. The group comes up to Josh and he spins around looking at them.

"The condensers! Destroy the condensers!', they look at what Josh is talking about, 'Ralph! Take this one!', Ralph points to the one on the right, 'Calhoun, you and Plague take that one over there!', Josh points to the one on the left, looks up, 'I'll take the one on the ceiling. Felix, take care of Vanellope!" Josh says flying up

"On it!" Felix says

The group breaks up doing what Josh told them to do. Ralph walks up to the condenser and starts destroying it with his giant hands. Calhoun and Plague walk up to the other condenser and start shooting and slicing it. Josh flies up to the last condenser and rams his staff into it overloading it with electricity. As the four break and destroy the condensers, the doctors inside the room with Elizabeth start to panic seeing what the team is doing.

"No, no, no, no! Stop! Stop destroy those!" Doctor yells

"We won't be able to control her if you do that!"

"This whole place will come down on us if you destroy that!"

Ralph destroys the first condenser.

"It's done!"

Calhoun and Plague finish up theirs.

"It's toast!"

"Sliced and diced!"

The five look up and see Josh still on his. Josh focuses all his energy into the machine and it starts to smoke.

"COME ON!"

The condenser over loads and blows up sending Josh right back down on the ground. Cyrus sees what Josh just did and quickly runs for it. Josh lands by Felix and Vanellope as the other three hurry back.

"So what now?" Calhoun asks

Josh walks up to the window and starts banging on it.

"HEY!"

Suddenly a large rip opens up behind the glass around the doctors. Large tornadoes from inside them start to move. The doctors run for it but Elizabeth has blocked off their pathways from the rip. One doctor runs up against the glass banging on the windows.

"LET US OUT! LET US OUT!"

Josh narrows his eyes and sees their eye colors, their orange. He narrows his eyes and sees the virus within them. Josh backs away as the doctors panic more and the tornadoes get closer. Everyone backs up as Elizabeth lies motionless on the table and suddenly, BOOM. Everyone covers themselves as the glass wall breaks into a million pieces and the doctors disappear.

All is quiet in the room. It's nearly destroyed and turned upside down. Josh looks back and sees the rip and the tornadoes gone. He looks and sees Elizabeth trying to move.

"Elizabeth!"

Josh hops over the debris and slides around the table. Elizabeth tries to push herself up and Josh gently helps her.

"Take it easy. Easy now. I got you."

Elizabeth's shirt is missing, so Josh takes off his leather jacket to put on Elizabeth but he notices a giant needle sticking into her back.

"Oh my God…"

Elizabeth trembles.

"Please…take it…out…."

Josh slowly grabs it and holds it firmly.

"Okay I will. Ready?"

"Just do it."

Josh grabs it and yanks it out hard from Elizabeth. Elizabeth screams and everyone flinches except for Plague. She breathes heavily panting hard. Elizabeth gasps and falls back. Josh catches her.

"Whoa!', Josh holds Elizabeth and looks at Calhoun, 'A little help here please?"

Calhoun holsters her gun and climbs over the debris. Josh puts his coat on Elizabeth as Calhoun helps her to her feet. Suddenly Elizabeth moans in great pain grabbing her heart.

"Ahhh! AHHH!"

"Elizabeth!"

Josh slides in front of Elizabeth and sees her clenching her heart.

"What's wrong? Tell me!"

"My…My heart…it hurts…" Elizabeth whispers

Josh looks down and focuses. He looks inside of Elizabeth and sees something funny with her heart. Suddenly Elizabeth faints and Josh notices.

"Elizabeth!"

Calhoun sees and picks her up.

"She just passed out."

Josh's hands shake and looks around. Everyone looks and sees Josh acting funny. Josh turns around and looks at Plague. He looks serious and walks to her. Josh lends out his hand.

"Give me your sword."

Plague looks at her sword and gives it to Josh. Josh holds the sword firmly and electrifies it. He turns and sees a broken, bent metal support near him. Josh spins around fast slicing it hard with Plague's sword. He turns around at the observation desk and figures where Cyrus is heading.

"Get Elizabeth out of here. All of you go outside and wait for me', looks up, 'I have something personal to finish."

Just as Josh is about to fly up, Plague stops him.

"Josh." Josh turns around, 'Don't go easy on him."

Josh doesn't blink, nod or even give a gesture. He just looks up and flies. Josh crashes through the observation desk and disappears. Calhoun carries Elizabeth over the rubble.

Parking Lot of Mental Institution…

Cyrus barges through a set of doors and looks around frantically. He runs ahead and sees a locked gate. Cyrus gives up on that. He looks ahead and sees an emergency exit door. Cyrus runs to that. Just as Cyrus opens the door, Plague's sword comes flying out of nowhere and hits the door keeping it shut and locked.

"OH!"

Cyrus looks at the sword and slowly turns. As Cyrus turns, he sees Josh standing yards away holding his staff firmly with both hands. Cyrus gulps softly and tilts his head.

"Well, well now…look where we are at."

Josh looks very hard at Cyrus. Cyrus sees.

"Now take it easy Josh."

Josh throws his staff at Cyrus and he deflects it.

"Hey! Was that nec…"

Suddenly Josh comes flying hard at Cyrus and punches him hard in the gut. Cyrus gasps loudly and Josh looks down at the in pain Cyrus. Josh's fist shoots out electricity as he clenches his fist.

"Okay…I think I deserved that…" Cyrus says wheezing a little

"You think?', Josh picks up Cyrus by the collar, 'More like, YOU DO."

Josh spins around and throws Cyrus onto the ground. Cyrus crawls away but Josh picks him up again and starts beating on him hard. Punch after punch, hit after hit, throw after throw, Josh beats the life out Cyrus with each shocking hit. Josh throws his hand back hard and lands one right between Cyrus's eyes. Cyrus falls backwards and Josh rubs his hand from the massive amount of hits he's giving Cyrus. Cyrus spits out orange blood.

"You're getting good at this."

"Screw you."

Josh walks to Cyrus and stands over him. He pulls out his gun and puts it on his head.

"Right before I kill you Cyrus, I'm going to tell you now, I don't care if everyone out there thinks it's me who did all this to the children. But as long as you're dead, I'll be happy."

"That so?"

"That is so. Goodbye."

Josh cocks the pistol.

"But before you kill me…"

"There's nothing you can say that will change my mind."

Cyrus frantically gets out what he has to say before Josh pulls the trigger.

"If you kill me you can't save her!"

Josh pauses and stares at Cyrus breathing heavily.

"What are you talking about?" Josh asks hard

Cyrus smiles and laughs a little.

"Was…Elizabeth's heart…hurting her a bit?"

Josh remembers what Elizabeth said and narrows his eyes.

"WHY?"

"There's a slow active virus infecting her heart right now. If she doesn't get the injection to remove it…she will die…painfully…and slowly."

Josh's hand shakes with the gun.

"YOU'RE LYING."

"Don't believe me…I don't care. But you're at an ultimatum here: Kill me…you save the children. But Elizabeth dies.', Josh grinds his teeth, 'Spare me…I tell you where the injection is. And Elizabeth lives….your choice…White Lightening."

Josh looks very hard at Cyrus's choice. His hand shakes some more and his trigger figure slowly pulls the trigger more and more. And then suddenly, BANG! The shock echoes through the Garage and Cyrus falls back. Josh breathes slowly and Cyrus rubs his head shaking it.

"Didn't know you had it in you."

Cyrus pushes himself up and limps his way to the door. Josh watches as Cyrus pulls out Plague's sword. Cyrus looks back as he opens it.

"Good night Josh."

"HEY!', Cyrus looks back, 'WHERE, IS IT?"

Cyrus looks funny at Josh. Josh sees the look and points his gun at Cyrus.

"It's back in the room where she was."

Cyrus quickly closes the door and Josh shoots. Josh runs to the door and tries to open it but it won't budge. He kicks it and runs back to the room. Outside the Mental Institution. Calhoun carries Elizabeth over her shoulder and looks back at the Institution. Back in the Institution, Josh flies down from the Observation desk and looks around the operating room. Josh frantically looks around for the needle.

"Where is it, where is it?!"

Josh sees one of the doctors lying on the floor and runs to him. He rolls him over and checks his pockets. Josh pulls out a strange looking needle and assumes that this is it.

"You better be right Cyrus."

Josh looks back, follows the exits heading back outside.

Outside…

Calhoun places Elizabeth in the bed of the truck. Everyone looks around waiting for Josh to return. Thunder strikes and everyone looks up. Josh flies quickly and everyone moves out of the way as he lands behind the truck.

"Where's Elizabeth!?"

"Right behind you." Ralph says pointing

Josh spins around and sees Elizabeth lying down on the bed of the truck. He rushes to her pulling out the needle to cure her. Everyone watches.

"Josh what is that?" Calhoun asks

Josh frantically gets the syringe ready.

"Cyrus said Elizabeth's heart is infected with a virus. And this is the cure."

"What happened to Cyrus?" Plague asks

Josh doesn't answer getting ready to inject Elizabeth. Plague walks forward.

"What happened to Cyrus?!"

Josh holds the needle directly over Elizabeth's skin.

"He…got away."

Plague looks serious.

"What?"

"I had to let him go to cure Elizabeth."

"What?!"

Plague quickly takes the syringe out of Josh's hand and he sees.

"HEY!"

"You had him and you just let him go?!"

"Plague!"

"You could have ended all this! But you didn't so you could save her?!"

"It's not just because of her Plague! I would have done it for any of you, all of you!', Plague eases up, 'It's not just because it's Elizabeth. If any of you, ever got into a pinch because of Cyrus, I would swallow my pride to make sure all of you get back in one piece. And that's why I let Cyrus go."

Plague stares hard at Josh as he lends out his hand to get the syringe from her. She tosses the needle and Josh catches it. Josh quickly gets to Elizabeth, injects her and throws the needle down.

"Now…we wait."

Suddenly it starts raining. Josh feels a rain drop hit the back of his head and everyone looks up.

"We got to get out of here. Calhoun get Elizabeth in the truck."

Everyone gets in the truck. Calhoun takes Elizabeth and sets her in the back. Josh turns around, Ralph holds on and drives back to the Factory.

The Factory…

Josh's Apartment…

Elizabeth lies motionless on the leather sofa in the living room. Josh sits on the table, looking dead tired, nearly falling asleep. He shakes his head hard looking over Elizabeth. It's late as it rains hard outside. Calhoun walks out of the Rooms and sees Josh is still up looking over Elizabeth. She walks over and Josh doesn't respond to her.

"Anything?"

Josh gulps and blinks slowly.

"She hasn't even moved."

"Maybe it takes a while."

"It's been hours Calhoun. I'm…really starting to lose hope here."

"Josh.', Josh doesn't look, Calhoun leans up against the couch, 'Josh." Calhoun says harder

Josh looks up at Calhoun, tired and anxious.

"You need rest."

"I'm fine."

"Elizabeth will be fine."

"Which one?" Josh asks looking away

"Excuse me?"

Josh shakes his head.

"Nothing."

"Josh…what happened to you at the Institution?"

Josh recalls what happened. The future…the destruction…Old Elizabeth…Josh shakes his head.

"I saw things Calhoun. Things…that could happen…"

"What?"

Josh gulps.

"I can't explain it Calhoun. I'm starting to think that my choices I make not just affect me…it's going to effect the world around. One decision can…change so much."

"Do you believe that?"

Josh rubs his face hard.

"I don't know what to believe…if I can see it then it's real."

Calhoun looks down at Elizabeth and sees her not moving still. She backs up and walks back to the Rooms.

"Don't overdue do it."

"Uh-huh…."

Calhoun disappears. Josh looks back down at the non-moving Elizabeth. His eyes drop a little but he shoots them back up opening them. Josh gets more and more tired and finally drops his head.

Hours later…

Josh sleeps sitting up. He snores a little and breathes, but as he breathes, his breath can be seen. Josh shivers a bit and slowly opens his eyes. He opens his eyes and looks at the couch seeing Elizabeth is not there.

"Elizabeth? Elizabeth!"

Josh looks around, as he does, he sees his Apartment ripped apart. Like it's been abandoned for decades.

"What the hell?"

Josh stands up and sees how destroyed his Apartment. It's cold and Josh sees his breath. He rubs his arms and turns around at his broken flat screen.

"E.D.I.? Can you hear me?"

Old Elizabeth appears behind Josh, near the elevator in the darkness.

"Congratulations.', Josh spins around and sees Old Elizabeth, 'You've done very well."

Josh blinks and walks around the couch.

"Elizabeth? This is the future again isn't it?"

Josh stops several feet away from Old Elizabeth.

"Yes. I had to bring you forward again."

"Why?"

"For one last talk."

"Look, no offense. But you shouldn't exist right? I mean, I got you, the other you from Cyrus. Why are you still here?"

"As long as Cyrus lives, nothing will change."

Josh sighs really hard and calms down.

"What are you here to tell me now?"

"The envelope. Do you still have it?"

Josh blinks and reaches in his pocket. He pulls it out and shows Old Elizabeth.

"Good. Open it."

Josh rips the envelope and slides out the letter. He unfolds it narrowing his eyes at the words on it.

"'Close your eyes, I'll be here. Wait for me, I'll be there. Open your eyes, you'll see me here'. What is this?"

"I told you…it's a phrase. A phrase that she will understand."

"And I'm just supposed to tell her?"

"Yes."

"And what about you? Do I tell her about future you?"

"No. Do not tell her about my existence. It will only cause more problems at hand."

"So how am I supposed to explain to her when she asks me how I know this phrase when only SHE knows it?"

"She will not ask. She will just go with it."

"Just 'go with it'?"

"Yes."

Josh sighs and rubs his head. Old Elizabeth sees.

"You must be patient Josh."

Josh looks back at Old Elizabeth.

"Seeing you here, I know you'll wake up. But once you're gone I wonder when you're going to wake up."

"I will."

"When?" Josh asks stepping forward

"Patience."

Josh rubs face hard being told to wait with an unknown answer. He's very annoyed.

"Please…Please tell me when you're going to wake up." Josh asks putting his hands together like a prayer

Old Elizabeth sees how desperate Josh is asking her. Josh waits hiding his face.

"If she can wait for you, you can wait for her."

Josh throws his head up and sighs hard.

"Look at me…I'm at the end of my rope here…one minute I think I did the right thing and then the next…did I make the right choice…', Old Elizabeth just listens, 'Kill one person…save everyone…let him live…to save just one…while hundreds slowly die…how can there be a 'right' choice out of that?', looks down and stares at Old Elizabeth, 'Please tell me…even lie to me, I don't care…is there…another parallel universe out there…were everything is fine? No Cyrus…No virus. Nothing?"

Old Elizabeth blinks and slowly looks down. Josh waits calmly and Old Elizabeth looks back.

"As many 'doors' I can possible open. I have never found one."

Josh sighs looking absolutely crushed.

"I said lie to me. But knowing you Elizabeth. Truth comes first.', sniffs and looks back at where Elizabeth would be, 'Even if I were to change things.', looks back at Old Elizabeth, 'What happens to you?"

Old Elizabeth thinks for a moment.

"It doesn't matter what happens to me. I'm lost. I beg of you, don't let her become like me."

Josh bites his lip. Elizabeth throws back her hands.

"Goodbye…Josh."

Josh quickly looks and steps forward.

"Wait! Wait, please!', Old Elizabeth stops, Josh slowly approaches Old Elizabeth, 'Just…please. Wait one second."

Josh slowly approaches Old Elizabeth. Old Elizabeth watches as Josh, lending out his hand slowly going to touch Old Elizabeth's face. Josh touches Old Elizabeth's face and feels how cold and chilly it is.

"Your face is ice cold."

Old Elizabeth closes her eyes feeling the warmth off of Josh's face.

"This is what happens…when you've been alone…for a long time…"

Josh gulps slowly.

"Forget about me Josh…"

"I can't do that." Josh whispers

"You must…for her sake."

Old Elizabeth waves her hand and Josh covers his eyes from the intense light.

Josh's Apartment…

Josh wakes up softly gasping. He looks around and everything looks the same in his Apartment. Josh wipes his forehead and looks ahead, seeing Elizabeth still out of it on the couch. He gulps slowly and looks down. Josh grabs her hand and looks up at her sleeping face.

"I don't know if you can hear me Elizabeth…but I hope you are…if you can hear me…please grab my hand.', as Josh holds Elizabeth's hand, nothing happens, 'I'm not asking for much here, just…a little hope would be nice. Please…grab my hand Elizabeth."

Josh looks nervously down at Elizabeth's hand and sees it's not doing what he asked. He wipes his eyes. As Josh does, small tears come out and shock him a bit.

"Ow…ow…"

Josh quickly wipes them and looks back at Elizabeth, waiting for her to wake up.

Elizabeth finally wakes up. Too much of everyone's surprise and delight, especially Josh's. Elizabeth asks and tells Josh everything about what Cyrus did to her and what he was going to do to her. But it's in the past, it doesn't matter anymore, according to Josh. Josh tells Elizabeth the 'phrase', her future self-told him to do. But when Elizabeth hears it, she can't believe it.
