It was the day of the prom, and Freddie was nervous. He knew Sam wasn't keen on the idea of prom; not to mention he wanted everything to go smoothly. Freddie was putting on the finishing touches; when his mom walked into his room.

"Hey Freddie bear. Ready for your big night?'' She asked as she straightened out the collar on his tuxedo.

"Yes mom…I'm ready; if you don't mind I would like to double check everything; it won't be long before I have to go pick Sam up."

"She's not coming over? I wanted to get pictures of you two. You can't deprive your mother of her sons first prom pictures…it's unnatural." She said.

"Don't worry mom, Sam's across the hall in Carly's apartment, your still going to get your pictures." Freddie said as he rolled his eyes at his mom as he walked into the kitchen to get something to drink.

Freddie grabbed a glass out of the cupboard and filled it with water from the faucet.

"Freddie! Are you insane? Don't you know what kind of germs are in the city water? I have told you time and time again. Use the double filtered water. I don't want you getting some kind of unnamed disease that they can't cure, and name it after you." She said as she quickly ran over to the sink to shut the water off.

"Mom…! Do you have to go all… germ a phoebe on me today? It's my big day, and I don't think one glass of water is going to mutate and cause an incurable disease." He said irritated at his mom's over protectiveness.

"You never know. I just think you should be extra careful. You wouldn't want to let Sam down by dying on her would you?" She said knowing he would most likely listen if it involved Sam.

"Fine mom…I'll use the double filtered water okay? Now can I get back to getting ready? Because if Sam thinks I'm standing her up…I will die." He said as he headed towards his room.

Freddie's mom just shook her head and headed off towards her bedroom to go find her camera.

Sam was in Carly's bedroom trying to get her prom dress on, and getting frustrated. It was a strapless white dress; with matching shoes. For some reason it seemed to be a little smaller than she remembered it was when she was at the store buying it.

"Carly! What the Chiz? Are you sure this is the dress we paid for, because I remember it being a little bigger around the chest?" Sam asked; still struggling to get it passed her chest and down where it was supposed to be.

"Maybe it's all the ham you ate this morning." Carly said with a smirk.

"I don't think eating ham makes your boobs grow in a matter of six hours." Sam said as she was now pulling the dress back up over her head and ready to throw the dress in the garbage, and give up.

"Here…let me see the dress, maybe there's something I can do." Carly said as she walked over to where Sam was standing; hair all messed up, and breathing heavy from fighting with her dress.

Carly took the dress from Sam and examined it closely. At first glance, there didn't seem to be anything wrong with it, but Carly noticed that there were places in the cups that were sewn in the wrong place; causing the breast cups of the dress smaller.

"Aha! Found it. They sewed these closer together." She said as she pointed to the cups in the dress,

Carly pulled the stitching out, allowing the dress to expand out, and then handed the dress back to Sam.

"Here you go…try it on." She said as Sam snatched it from Carly; still irritated over the dress and then once again tried the dress on.

To Sam's amazement, it fit perfectly; just like it did in the store.

"I knew something wasn't right. After the prom I am going back to that store and tell them what I think of their shabby work." Sam said as she made her way over to the mirror to get a look at what she looked like in the dress.

"O.M.G.! Sam…you look beautiful…I'd say like Samarella…" Carly said as she giggled at her own joke.

"Funny Carl's…real funny."

"You know what Sam? I have the perfect necklace for you. It will go great with your dress." Carly said as she made her way over to her jewelry box,

"Don't worry about it Carl's. I'm not getting married or anything. Besides...Freddie knows me better than that. He knows I'm not the daffodil fancy jewelry wearing type." Sam said with her hands on her hips, and slightly annoyed at all the flash Carly was trying to get her to wear.

Carly ignored Sam; opened up the jewelry box, and started rummaging thru it; looking for the necklace. After a few moments she found the necklace and then returned back over to Sam.

"Here you go...try it on and see what you think." Carly said as she handed it to Sam.

Sam took the necklace from her, and then held it up to her neck in front of the mirror. A sudden smile appeared on her face.

"Well... I guess it will work." She said as she was trying to hide her excitement on how it looked on her.

It was covered in diamonds, and it looked like something a princess would be wearing to a ball. The diamonds weren't real, but they looked real. Sam noticed the smile on her face as she was staring into the mirror; as did Carly.

"See...I told you it was perfect." Carly said with a sly look on her face.

"Yeah...yeah Carl's...you were right. Can we finish up already? I'm feeling hungry." Sam said as she rubbed her stomach.

Freddie heard a knock at the door, and knew it was Gibby arriving like they planned. He walked thru the living room over to the door and answered it. When he opened the door, he saw Gibby standing there in a white tux with a black and white checkered comber bun and bow tie.

"Hey Gib...Wow!"

"You like it?" He asked; puffing his chest out, with his hands on his waist.

"Let's put it this way...Carly won't have to worry about finding you in a crowd." Freddie smirked.

"True that!" He replied. Freddie just shook his head at his best friend, and stepped out of the way so Gibby could enter.

"Freddie...is that Sam; I have my camera ready!" His mom yelled as she was running into the living room carrying her camera.

"No mom...its Gibby."

"Oh...okay, well let me know when she's here...I want those pictures." She said as she returned down the hall and back into her room.

"Hey...why's your mom acting so weird?" Gibby asked.

"What do you mean...she always acts weird?" Freddie answered as he shot Gibby a curious look.

"You know...like she likes Sam or something?" He asked.

"I don't know. She's been like this ever since I brought Sam here from the hospital." He said; remembering the sight of them in the living room laughing and not trying to kill each other.

"I think she's being nice, since she knows there isn't much she can do about us dating." He said; pushing the thought out of his mind.

"Want to go over to Carly's and see if the girls are ready? I have to get Sam over here so my mom can get some pictures. Pretty sure Spencer wants some pics of Carly and you as well." He said as he was heading towards the door.

"Yeah…I'm ready…let's go." Gibby said as he followed behind Freddie.

"Mom! Be right back with Sam…be ready." He said as he was leaving; not bothering to wait on a response from her.

As Freddie and Gibby were standing outside of Carly's apartment. They both made sure each other looked good. They didn't want to have anything out of place when they saw the girls. Freddie adjusted his shoulders and then knocked on the door. After a few moments; Spencer flung the door open and practically pulled the both of them into the apartment.

"Okay Freddie…Gibb. I am under strict orders to have the both of you waiting in the kitchen until Carly and Sam get downstairs." He said; leading the both of them to the kitchen.

Sam and Carly were just finishing getting ready when they heard the front door open and the boys being herded to the kitchen liked they asked Spencer to do for them.

"Well…Sam…how do I look?" Carly asked, with her arms resting at her side.

"You look good. I'm sure Gibby will love what he sees." Sam said trying to ease her best friend's nerves.

"Thanks Sam. You do too. I'm pretty sure your prince charming is going to be blown away." Carly said, referring to the Samarella comment from earlier in the day.

"Thanks Carl's…I owe you."

"Owe me for what?"

"Helping me look this way for Freddie." She said; sounding unlike her usual rough and tough act.

"No problem. I love both you and Freddie. I just want you two to have fun, and enjoy the prom." Carly answered getting ready to get all emotional.

"Okay…don't go all soft on me now…we still have business to attend to; A.K.A. Freddie and Gibby…ready to go?" Sam asked holding her hand out for Carly.

"Ready." She replied as she grabbed Sam's hand and walked thru her bedroom door leading to the stairs with Sam.

As Sam and Carly were ascending the stairs, Sam could feel her heart starting to race. Almost as if it was going to beat straight out of her chest. There was an over powering of warmth flowing thru her body, as the nerves of seeing Freddie increased. As the both of them reached the bottom of the stairs, they both slowly turned the corner into the view of Freddie and Gibby. Freddie saw Sam and was speechless. He was finding it hard to put the right words together.

"Sam you look beautiful…I…Um…Wow!" He said still trying not to stumble on his words.

Sam didn't say anything back. Instead she stood there blushing and enjoying the look that Freddie had on his face. Sam walked slowly up to Freddie with her hands clasped behind her; waiting for Freddie to make a move. Suddenly Freddie walked up to her; meeting her half way, and then gently placed his arms around her waist; pulling her into him. Sam reached up and placed them around Freddie's neck, and then quietly spoke.

"Thanks…you look handsome. I don't think I have ever been more attracted to you then at this moment." She said; placing a gentle kiss on his cheek.

Carly didn't notice all that was going on between them, because she was too caught up in Gibby to really pay that much attention. But when she glanced over at them, she was happy. Happy to her see her longtime friend actually get what she wanted…what she needed. Someone that Sam knew would never let her down.

"Okay kiddo's time for some pics!" Spencer yelled out from the living room.

"Ready to go make some memories princess Puckett?" Freddie asked as he grabbed a hold of her hand, and giving it a gentle squeeze.

After about a million pictures from Spencer, they all made their way over to Freddie's, so his mom could get the pictures of Freddie and Sam together for prom. As they entered his apartment, they were met with what appeared to be paparatzy. Camera flashes were going off almost in a strobe like fashion.

"Mom! Can you wait till we all get into the house before you assault us with a photo shoot?" Freddie yelled; finally getting his mom's attention.

"Of course…you and Sam over there by the window. I want to get enough light in the picture." She said as she ushered the both of them over to the window.

Marisa suddenly stopped what she was doing, and drew her attention to Sam.

"Sam…you look beautiful sweet heart Spin around so I can see all of you." She said as she held Sam's arm up and slowly spun her around.

Carly and Gibby were still standing by the door witnessing the whole thing in complete shock. Neither one of them have ever seen Marisa treat Sam so nice. They stood there in silence; continuing to observe all that was being said and going on around them.

"Thanks Mrs. B." Sam said all smiles.

Then; as if watching all that happened wasn't weird enough. Sam reached over and gave his mom a hug and a small kiss on the cheek. That's when Carly's; Gibby's and Freddie's mouth fell open. After she finished taking pictures of Sam and Freddie, and a couple of Carly and Gibby, Carly and Gibby headed to his car, as Freddie and Sam headed to his.

"We'll meet you guys there!" Freddie yelled out to Gibby and Carly.

Freddie walked around to Sam's side of the car and opened the door for her. Sam slid in, as Freddie held onto her hand until she was fully in. Freddie walked back around to the driver side of the car, and got in himself. As he was about to put the key into the ignition. Sam put her hand and on his; sending electricity thru his body.

As Freddie looked down at her hand on his, and then back up to her. Sam slid her hand slowly up to the back of Freddie's neck; pulling him in; pushing her lips into his; full of passion. Freddie dropped the keys on the floor board, and wrapped his arms around Sam; reciprocating the passionate kiss. As they pulled away from each other, they were completely out of breath; each of them forgetting to breath.

"Sam?"

"Yeah?"

Freddie paused and gulped a little before continuing.

"I love you. Not in the casual term that everybody uses it; but in all of its meaning. I can't ever see myself without you, or with anyone else for that matter. I'm glad Jennifer happened." He said; knowing it was going to throw Sam for a loop.

"What? What do you mean you're glad Jennifer happened? Have you lost your freaking mind?" Sam spat out.

"Let me finish Sam before you fly off the handle." He said with a smile on his face.

"If it weren't for Jennifer, we wouldn't be together right now. You see…she helped us see who we really needed…each other. So you see… I'm glad Jennifer happened." He said as he reached for her hand.

Sam studied his facial expressions for a moment. It wasn't quite the topic she wanted to have a discussion on; especially just before prom. But the more she looked at his face, the more she realized he was trying to confirm his feelings to her. So she smiled back at him.

"I'm glad she happened as well." Sam said, as she returned to the make out session they were having.

After a few minutes of passionate kissing the both of them broke away, and caught there breathe.

"Hey Sam, have you seen the car keys?" Freddie asked.

"Keys? What keys?" Sam said with a sly grin on her face.

"Yes Sam, I want to stay here too, but don't you think we should at least make an appearance at our prom? I'm sure Carly and Gibby are wondering where we are." He asked.

"You know Fred Wad…you really know how to kill a mood. There on the floor under your feet." Sam said; knowing there was most likely going to be more where that came from.

Freddie picked up the keys; started the car, and headed to their prom. When they arrived, there were kids everywhere. Coming and going, and all dressed up. Sam scanned the area for Carly and Gibby, but wasn't able to catch sight of them. Freddie got out, and walked around the car to help Sam out. To his surprise, Sam hadn't even tried to get out of the car. She was actually sitting there waiting on him.

"Ready to go get your prom on princess?" Freddie asked as he held his hand out for her to grab.

"Yup…let's do this." Sam said as she got out of the car; still holding onto Freddie's hand.

As they got closer and closer to the prom entrance. All the other kids started taking notice of Sam. To them, it was a side of Sam they had never seen before. Normally Sam would let them know in no uncertain terms she didn't appreciate the looks she was getting. But tonight, she was walking tall, and proud to be hanging off of Freddie's arm.

"Not so bad after all. Not what you were thinking it was going to be is it?" Freddie asked looking over at Sam, who seemed to actually be enjoying the attention she was getting.

"Actually nub…just biding my time for later on." She said wiggling her eyebrows up and down.

As they entered the dance hall, the music was loud, and it was hard to navigate thru the crowd. But as they made their way, they spotted Carly and Gibby standing by the punch table; seemingly enjoying themselves. As they walked past people. Sam noticed a lot of the guys were staring at her; not in the bad way. More of an appreciative way; something Sam wasn't used to. Freddie noticed as well. But unlike Sam, he didn't care for it at all.

"SAM! FREDDIE!" They heard Carly scream as she run over to them.

"Sam what took you guys so long? We were beginning to think you guys weren't coming." Carly said as she pulled Sam aside and away from Freddie.

"Well…you're right. We almost didn't make it. And the boy has a pair of lips on him that can melt steel." Sam explained.

As Carly and Sam were deep into their conversation; guys still would slow down to look at Sam. Carly thought it was awesome how a little change to someone could have this kind of effect, but Freddie wasn't finding it amusing one little bit. So he walked over to Sam and Carly and grabbed a hold of Sam's arm.

"What's up nerd…where you taking me?" Sam asked; looking up at Freddie with her sparkling blues eyes.

"Dancing…I just want to dance…that's all." He said in a tone that Sam noticed.

"What's the matter Fred Bag? You look almo…" Sam stopped mid-sentence. She had just realized why he seemed different to her.

"Freddie bear…are you jealous?"

"What? Me? No…why would I be jealous for?" He asked.

"You don't have to be jealous. There isn't anyone here that can hold a candle to you." She said as she wrapped her arms tightly around his shoulders, and rested her head in the crick of his neck.

Freddie relaxed, and threw off his insecurities, and just enjoyed being close to Sam. He felt her heart beat keeping time with the music, and he enjoyed the hair ticking his neck. But most of all, he enjoyed that fact that Sam was completely content and comfortable being with him; something that was not a normal thing with her. When they were in school, she still kept a little caution on hanging with Freddie, even though most people knew they were dating. But tonight, all bets were off, and she was totally and completely comfortable, with showing a little of the girly in her, in front of everyone.

Okay there you have it. Next chapter is the one I really can't wait to get finished. Can't tell you what it's about though. Not even little hints… It would ruin the surprise. Lol. Anyway…I hope you enjoyed this chapter, it was kinda fun creating it. And remember. Please leave a review, I'm always up for suggestions and I love reading them. :P
