Tut and Suhad: The Hearts of Men
A dagger covered in blood. A body on the ground and Egypt in mourning. Even the skies weep for the fallen. No one saw this coming. The High Priest prepared his body for ascension. A procession through the streets of Thebes to his final resting place where his family lay for generations. Beloved by his people, too young to rule and too young to have died. "May the Gods welcome him among them." The High Priest said as the sarcophagus was lowered into the stone tomb. Ankhe cried in the arms of Ay.
Suhad holding her son and trying to stay strong for Ma'at stood defiantly fighting the urge to break down and cry. When the end came, she was more a Queen then Ankhe. Ay announced that he would allow Suhad to leave in peace if she renownst Sekmet's claim to the throne. He was still a baby. Fearing for the life of her family and knowing full well that Ay could not be trusted. She agreed to leave Thebes. She was escorted home by the Mitanni military led by her Uncle. Ay kept his word and did not send anyone to pursue her.
Her people still treated her as Queen. She was set up in a large home in the center of the village. That night, Suhad never felt more alone. She had trouble sleeping alone in her bed. The shadows move and the slightest sound would cause her to check on Sekmet and Ma'at. The little girl, even thought she was upset over losing her home, learned to be strong. She was also glad to get away from Ay. She knew he was a bad man even though he tried on several occasions to put her mind at ease. She may have been young but she was far from stupid.
In the night air, Suhad stood outside starring at the stars. The stress of the day finally causing her to break down. She fell to her knees weeping at the loss of the man she loved, her life taken from her and the future of her children. She dug her nails into the dirt. As she cried a shadow fell over her. "Why do you weep, my Queen?" A soft voice spoke to her. She didn't look up. "Egypt lost her Pharaoh and I my love. I mourn the death of my King."
The figure knelt beside her. "The Boy-King, Tutankhamun?" She shook her head. "And who are you weeping for him?" His voice was that above a whisper. "I was his Queen Suhad." The figure reached for her and helped her to her feet. "This is no way for a Queen to act." He put his arms around her. "It's okay to cry." He whispered in her ear. "I"ll be here to keep you strong." She pushed the stranger away. The hood of his robe fell back revealing his face. Suhad lost her balance and almost fell but he caught her. Her lips quivering from her tears. "Khaten? The Gods are taking delight in torturing me." She looked again. The look in his eyes told her that she was not seeing a apparition. "How is it that you are here, my Pharaoh?" She asked him.
Tut hushed her. He pulled her into a kiss. "I am no longer your King. I am just a young man. But a man nevertheless. I am here to be your husband and father to your children for the time the Gods allow." Suhad held him tightly when she really wanted to slap him for putting her through such trauma. "I don't understand." She asked as they went inside her home. "The story is long and the night is short. Please, Suhad, allow me to spend this time with you as a man. I will explain everything to you come the new sun." They walked by where Ma'at and Sekmet were sleeping. A tear fell from Tut's eye. He was happy to see them again.
In Suhad's room the light from the moon lit her bed chamber. Tut removed his outer dirt covering. Underneath he wore his armor from when he was Pharaoh. This was the only thing he took with him from Thebes. His daggers were buried in the tomb. He removed each piece one by one allowing them to fall to the floor until he stood before her just a man. She came to him, dropping her gown on the floor covering his armor. The moonlight lit her skin. His finger tips ran down the length of her arm from her shoulder. He brushed her breast lightly. She softly moaned as he continued to caress her. He stepped closer to her. His body pressed against hers. Their shadows merged into one. His kisses were full of hunger and passion. Suhad gave into him. He lifted her into his arms and laid her on the bed. He lay next to her. She wanted to taste his lips and feel his touch like a feather on her skin. His eyes never closed as she pulled him on top of her.
They made love like this was their first time together. She scratched his back as he went deeply inside of her. When she arched her back, he would cover her mouth with his own to keep her moans from waking their children. Her moaning fueled his passion. He whispered her name into her ear. "Suhad, I love you." He rolled onto his back. She straddled him. She leaned down, lifted his head to her breast then pressed one into his mouth. She called out his name. "Khaten, my love." He kept his head against her chest. She rode his before bringing his face up so she could kiss him. As she started to reach her climax, Tut flipped her to her back. He let out a groan as he bit her neck. They came together. He collasped on top of her. She wrapped him in her arms and they fell asleep still in a lovers pose.
