Gabby's POV

I sat in the passenger seat of Antonio's car as we raced outside of the city. I look out the window watching as the houses start turning into more and more trees til there are no more houses in site.

"Are we getting close?" I whisper looking over to my bother for an answer.

"I hope so." He says taking my hand in his. He and Matt had become like brothers, Matt was the kind of guy anyone could n't refuse to like. I saw the heartbreak in his eyes not only for his missing friend but for me and my missing piece. Matt.

We continued driving as the darkness started to part as the sky slowly showed color. Dawn was showing to a new day that I could only hope to be a better 's phone rang now pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Detective Dawson." He spoke into his cellphone.

After a brief moment he hung up the phone and typed an address into his GPS." Please turn around when possible." The women's voice rang thru the car, as he listened making an abrupt u-turn and throwing on his police lights.

"Antonio what's going on?" I ask when I realise he isn't gonna talk." Who was that?"

He hesitaded for a moment before looking at me." It was the Chief park ranger from this forest." He says pointing out to the trees wizzing by." They found the cabin but no one is there."

"What does that mean?" Heather spoke from the rear seat.

"He told me that the house is being used but they found no one in it right now."

"Do you think she knew we were coming?" I asked worried.

"Gabby we don't even know if this is the right place?"

"Turn left in 500 feet." The GPS voice rang out as Antonio made the sharp turn bringing us onto a dark dirt road surrounded by trees.

"Antonio shut your lights off just in case." I suggested as we hear a loud pop ring out in the air." Was that?" I started to ask as tears flooded my eyes.

"That was a gun shot." Antonio says confirming my fears as he slows down trying to look and see where it came from.

Casey's POV

I quickly pulled the boys closer to me as we squat down on the ground behind the nearest tree, as the light slowly comes closer.

"Uncle Matt that's a car." Griffen yells in excitement.

" Shh." I motion to him." Let's make sure it's safe?" I answer afraid to just run out wondering why this car is out in the middle of the forest. That's when I hear rustling leaves behind us causing me to jump.

"You shouldn't have left me like that you made me very angry." Alice says pointing the gun at us as We slowly get to our feet.

"Alice what your doing is wrong." I say taking a step back pulling the boys with me. I watch for the approaching car in the corner of my eye as I continue to take small steps back hoping she is unaware of what I'm doing." Let's just talk about this?" I say trying to reason with her.

"What the hell?" Alice snaps as she finally sees the approaching car." Get down she waves the gun at us pushing us behind the nearest tree.

I watch as the car comes into sight slowly passing by there is just enough light in the morning sky to get a close enough look. My heart sinks at that very moment when I realise it Antonio's car. My adrenaline kicks in now as I grab Alice's hands fighting for the gun as we fall back to the ground.

"Run ." I yell as I continue to struggle on the ground for control of the gun. Alice kicks and hits me before she finally gets a better grip of the gun and hits me in the head with it. I roll around in pain as I hold my palm to my head as I feel the blood drip down my cheek.

"You really shouldn't have done that." She says getting to her feet pointing the gun at me."We could have been great together." She says releasing the safety now.

I close my eyes and I see Gabby's face holding my two beautiful babies now' I love you' I say under my breath as a loud pop rings thru my ears.

"Matt." I hear thru the ringing in my ears." Matt." I hear again as I slowly open my eyes Antonio is kneeling over me."

"Am I?" I start to ask confused.

"Your bleeding from your head pretty good." He says pulling me up to a seated position. That's when I see Alice laying on the ground.

"I'm alive?"

"Very much so. But she's not." He says pointing to Alice." Come on there is someone waiting to see you." He helps me to my feet now as I touch my tender head again.

"She got me good." I say looking at the blood on my hand.

"Well she would have got you better if we didn't see Griffen and Ben running after us."

"Well I guess I owe you my life." I say smiling as we step out onto the dirt road now.

"Matt." I here as I look up and see the most beautiful sight running towards me.

"Gabby." I breath out picking up my pace until she jumps in my arms wrapping her legs around my waist planting her lips on my." I missed you."I tell her as she meets my eyes now tears streaming down her cheeks.

"You are never going out for diapers again." She smiled thru her tears as I kissed her again as the police lights straighted flashing as they approached down the dirt road.
