Oh! Did Midna really say we have to go back to town? Hah! There's still more to do here at Lake Hylia! Yeah, Ilia's waiting and Ralis is dying, but they'll conveniently still be there when we finally get there. Now that the twilight has been cleared, peaceful music is playing.
"Midna! Look! There's a man!" I cry out, pointing my paw at a man sitting some distance away.
"...Well, we need to get back to town so maybe we'll check him out later..." Midna says.
"Nope!" I say.
Link grins and I race him to the stranger.
"HEY! WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO DO EVERYTHING I TELL YOU TO DO?!" Midna wails.
"Oh! Customers! Ahem... Welcome to Fyer and Falbi's Watertop Land of Fantastication! For new customers, a first ride in my super safe human cannon can be yours for only ten Rupees! WHAT?! That's right! ONLY TEN RUPEES! Will you give it a shot?!" the stranger, who is probably either Fyer or Falbi, I don't know, says.
Link whips out his wallet and digs out twenty Rupees. One for me and one for him.
"Thank you, fine sirs! Now climb on in and I'll launch you near heavenwards!" Fyer or Falbi says.
He holds the door open and Link goes first. I follow. It's really dark and awkwardly tight inside the cannon, but before long, I can smell the fuse has been lit.
"THREE! TWO! ONE! BLAST OFF!" Fyer or Falbi cries out.
With a loud bang, Link and I get hurtled through the air.
"WHEEEEEEE!" I cry out.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Link wails.
We come down for a crash landing on a higher piece of land that is jutting out of a cliff.
"We made it!" I cry out.
Another stranger is up here looking just about as weird as the first guy.
"Hey you two, would you like to play with my Cuccos?" the guy asks.
I look around and see a bunch of Cuccos wandering about in some straw. There are a few specially colored ones.
"I'm Falbi, by the way. I'm guessing if you've made it up this high, you must have met Fyer!" the man says.
Oh! So that's who each is!
"This game is called Flight-by-Fowl! The objective: use one of my fine Cuccos to fly yourself down to one of the platforms below. You can keep what you find in the chest," Falbi says, "20 Rupees to play."
"Oh! Link! Do you have 20 Rupees?!" I ask.
Link digs in his wallet and sweats nervously.
"Ahem! Epic... Are you forgetting that you have 20 Rupees?!" Midna asks.
"Oh... Right..." I say.
Falbi looks confused as I start hacking. Urgh, it hurts! Finally, the red Rupee shows itself and plinks onto the floor. Falbi looks disgusted.
"I had a bit of trouble," I say.
"Uh, well, you can't play anyways because you lack hands," Falbi says.
"Oh! Right..." I say.
Link picks up my slimy Rupee, wipes it off with his tunic, and hands it to Falbi.
"Uh," Link grunts, pointing to himself.
"You want to play?" Falbi asks.
Link nods his head.
"Okay, go grab a Cucco!" Falbi says.
Link goes and grabs the golden Cucco.
"Ah yes! That one is a real good one!" Falbi says, grinning.
"Oh boy, here we go again..." the Cucco says.
"Can you make it?" I ask the Cucco.
Link shrugs, thinking I am talking to him.
"I certainly will try my best!" the Cucco says.
"You're good to go Link," I say.
Link jumps off the platform while clinging onto the golden Cucco. I look over the edge and watch him drift to the bottom. He manages to land on the top platform! Link waves to me and opens the chest. I cannot see what he has even though he is holding it up in the air. Next, he carefully drops down from the moving platform onto the next and opens that chest. Again, I cannot see what he has. He eventually climbs down to the surface and I'm still up here.
"So... Where are you from?" Falbi asks.
"Ordona," I say.
"Ordona sure is far from here! And your friend, where is he from?" Falbi asks.
"I have no clue. I just bumped into him one time and have been working with him ever since," I say.
Where did the real Link come from? I cannot ask him myself as he cannot speak. Perhaps Epona can tell me. But... What if not even Epona knows?! A few moments later and I hear Link wailing again and he lands with a thud.
"Link! You're back!" I say.
"He got 100 Rupees, but spent 10. He some how got a second deal. Also, he got a piece of heart," Midna says.
The golden Cucco flies back up here and settles down, exhausted.
There's a back door to Falbi's ledge house and so we decide to explore out there. Good thing we did too! Otherwise, we'd have missed an area with pretty bugs! There is a horseshoe reed out in this sloped field as well. I guess we weren't actually that high up after all.
Link plucks the reed and uses it to call Epona. She runs as fast as she can, nearly barreling Link over in the process.
"Link! Oh thank goodness! I was afraid I wouldn't see you again!" Epona cries out.
Link pats Epona's muzzle gently and then walks to her side, mounting her. Link rides Epona and I run along side them. We manage to catch both a male and female golden mantis! We also get another letter from the mailman. It was from Barnes and he apparently has "water bombs".
Also, we find a cave while exploring around, much to Midna's dismay, and find these gross gelatin slug things! I think Midna said they were Chus...
Anyhow, after all of that, we are now approaching a wall made from fallen boulders. I wonder what could have caused so many boulders to slide onto important roads... Link pulls out a bomb and tosses it at the boulders after pulling Epona to a safe distance away. The boulders crack and give us easy access to Hyrule Field.
"Great! Good thing we still have bombs!" I comment.
Ah, and Zora's River is up ahead as well! There might be more things to do there now that the light has returned as well!
