Hello everyone, sorry its been a few days longer than I planned but I just haven't had a computer to upload anything. FYI: I've gotten up to chapter 40 drafted so I'm gonna try to get a few chapters up tomorrow once I proof them. My normal beta is on vacation so it's just my editing sorry, so bear with me!

Chapter 33:

Not a second later, the monsters from the corridor were breaking through the door we came in. Seto grabbed my arm, pulled me into a different elevator, and called for Yugi to follow. He pushed one of the many buttons on his phone before putting it back in his pocket. Soon we were up on the roof and monsters surrounded us on all sides up there. We made a dead sprint towards the edge. I knew where this was going and I'm not happy about it. Seto you damn lucky I trust enough for this.

"Alright, get ready to jump." He told us. I looked up at him with fear in my eyes. But at the moment, my fear of these monsters far outweighs my fear of his jet and flying. However, Yugi wasn't as trusting of Seto.

"What?"

"I trusted you, now you have to trust me." He said taking my hand as we jumped off the ledge. We landed in the front cockpit and Seto quickly started pushing buttons for manual control. Soon Yugi settled into the second seat. The window closed over us and Seto set course to go back to the pier before all of a sudden we were hit but something. I saw a bright light and held onto Seto tightly as he tried to land the jet after the damage. We were ejected from the plane and all rolled until we stopped. I could feel the scraps along my arms and legs because unlike the boys I only had a short-sleeved shirt and shorts on. Seto and Yugi stood quickly and watched as the KC building had multiple fires raging within. Tears came to my eyes with all the destruction. Seto had changed this company and now this lunatic was destroying it piece by piece.

"I won't let him take my company apart!" Seto said clenching his fist as he took in the damage to Kaiba Corp.

"Kaiba, Rika, it looks like we have bigger things to worry about now!" Yugi said pointing towards the sky above the building. A shadow of the Serpent we saw Dartz standing on. However, this one was much bigger and much more daunting. Seto didn't even seem fazed, instead his focus now fell on me. He looked down at me as he offered a hand to stand. Once I did, he gave me a look over, taking in the cuts and scrapes from the concrete.

"You're bleeding." He stated.

"I've had worse. I'll clean up once we reach the others." I said shrugging off his scrutiny of my injuries. They were minor. I'm not a child.

"Fine, let's move. It will take us a little while to reach them."

"Please just no more running, my adrenaline is spent." I half whined. Truth be told, I was exhausted from our encounter and I knew the night was far from over. Seto looked at me one last time before he huffed and started walking back towards the pier. He was sometimes too prideful but I know the last hour has been draining for all of us, emotionally as well as physically. He will wear his mask until it is just us or he is alone.

About twenty minutes later, we finally reached the others. Mokie of course came running up to us hugging his brother briefly then latching on to me.

"You made it! We were worried about you three for a second there. Rika what happened? You're hurt."

"Nothing major Mokie, just some scrapes and scratches."

"Mokuba, we're fine. Now that we know who were after, it's time to crash their little party." Seto said diverting his brother's attention for which I was thankful. Both of the Kaiba Brothers were protective of me and it was a good feeling most of the time. Right now is not one of them. You would have thought I lost an arm.

"Well, we better act fast because Joey ran off to find these Paradius guys on his own." Rebecca said quickly.

"We have to get there before he does." Yugi continued.

"Leave it to Wheeler…" I rolled my eyes. I swear the guy was truly an idiot, how is he a top ranked duelist again?

"Rika…" Yugi warned under his breath. I simply smiled at him innocently.

"He better not screw this up for me." Seto then commented and my smile turned to a smirk.

"Guys! We have bigger problems. Those same monsters we saw in the desert they are roaming the city!" Tea said running from the opposite direction that we had come.

"Let's go, we can all jump in my car." Duke offered. Finally, he proves to have some use.

"I'm afraid things are even worse than you can imagine." I felt a shiver go down my spine as we all turned to see the professor standing in the doorway of the trailer.

"What is it gramps?" Rebecca asked.

"What do these creatures want?" Yugi asked shortly after.

"According to the evening news, thousands of people around the world are suddenly collapsing in the streets and falling into a state of unconsciousness." My thoughts went to Alister, Ghost, and the Rex kid that I guess Joey dueled. These creatures served the Orichalcos; they must be able to steal souls without dueling.

"It's those monsters." Tea stated the obvious.

"They must be using the power of the Orichalcos to capture people's souls." Rebecca added.

"It would appear so." The professor confirmed.

"Oh and did I mention that every police officer in this town is under their spell too." Just great but it's not like they'd believe the story we'd have to tell them if they weren't. A duel monsters card that can still souls…I can hear the ridicule now.

"Alright, then we will have to battle these monsters on our own and make our way to Dartz." Yugi announced.

"Unless he finds us first." Tea said in a scared shaky voice. I looked at Seto curious as to what we would do next. He nodded. We would stick with them for now.

"Hey guys, I don't think one car is going to haul all of us." I stated counting us, seven when most cars can only hold six max.

"It looks like we'll take the trailer then." Duke said as everyone stepped into the moving home. It was small but had the essentials.

"Rika, there is a sink and some first aid supplies if you want to clean up those cuts." The professor offered pointing towards the small bathroom. I nodded in thanks.

I quickly ran a cloth over the superficial wounds to remove any blood and dirt that could have collected there. Then I opened the kit in search of alcohol to clean the areas. I winced as it burned but that meant it was doing its job. I looked at the wounds and sighed, they may not be deep but they were starting to hurt slightly. I took one last swipe with the cleaner and put everything away.

Joining the others, I saw no seat for me. Seto and Mokie sat on a small couch that looked no bigger than a chair. The Professor sat in an armchair. Tea and Yugi sat on one side of the table and Rebecca on the other. Please, do not make me sit next to her.

"Mokuba, why don't you sit next to Rebecca for a little bit?" Seto suggested obviously noticing my distress. Mokie complied having no problem with the blonde. They would be cute together but two things prevented that. First, Seto would never allow it, I could tell he held distain for the girl, and second, she was hung up on Yugi.

I sat next to Seto and I felt him shift a little bit closer to me. He looked down at me briefly. I mouthed a silent thank you to him. He simply nodded. That would be all I would get from the CEO since we were the center of attention at the moment. I wish I could just lay my head on his shoulder and have him wrap his arms around me; to be back in our own little world, before all this chaos began. I knew the closer we got to Dartz, the more dangerous it was going to be. My greatest fear right now is that I will lose him.

So I hope this chapter was worth the short wait! I enjoyed writing some of the banter in the scenes. I love Rika and her disdain for Yugi's friends. It's very Kaibaish...no wonder they're such a good couple!

I will get atleast one more chapter up tomorrow maybe a couple if your lucky!
