Yes, I waited as per request to my friend 'No.1DigiBakuFan' so she can catch up more in 'Supreme King Jaden and Shadow Knight Louie'.

I am ready to continue with the updates. I have all but one of the chapters done for the rest of this season.

And I have a question for you guys at the bottom of the chapter.

Enjoy!

Chapter 37-

"Aw man, we overslept!"

"That means we'll miss out on breakfast!"

Jaden, Jason, Syrus, and Chumley rushed into the Slifer Red mess hall to see a few plates still left at a vacant table, while the rest of the mess hall was empty. Save Chazz who sat on the far side of the room.

"Whew, still some left," Jaden sighed, sitting down, "Alright..."

"Let's dig in," Syrus suggested as the four sat down... to bare plates.

Jaden tipped his cup over, "Not much left...,"

Jason started to look under the table to see if the food fell. He couldn't see anything.

"No, we've been cleaned out!" Syrus groaned.

"What kind of selfish slime would do that?" Chumley asked the others, who already knew the answer.

One by one, the four of them gathered around Chazz's table as the ebony haired Slifer enjoyed his morning drink.

Chazz glanced at them and smirked. "You snooze, you lose,"

"What the hell, Chazz!?" Jaden asked.

"Remember when you woke me up for Bastion's duel exercises?" Chazz asked, disbelief and horror crossing the four Slifers faces. Chazz smirked again. "Payback is a bitch ain't it?"

"That's it!" Syrus slammed his hands down on the table and leaned in, "Give us back our food or I'm telling!"

"I would give it back, only I ate it all," Chazz pointed out, "So, no luck. Unless you want the remains in a few hours," he offered with a more sinister smirk. He was having a good morning and it was just getting better. Revenge was sweet.

That did it.

"Professor...!"

"Banner!"

"Chazz is being Chazz again!"

The four boys looked towards the curtain doorway where Banner would usually walk through, but unfortunately, he didn't come through.

Jaden frowned, "You mean he's still MIA?"

Jason frowned too. Something definitely wasn't right with that.

...

Later that morning, in Banner's Alchemy class, Jaden laid his head on his desk while everyone else talked about random things around him. He couldn't shake the bad feeling that was around him. Banner's disappearance was making him paranoid.

Was he hurt?

Was he dead?

Was another Shadow Rider here?

If that last one was true, did he lose his key? Jaden's annoyance and anger at that thought went unnoticed to him, but not to Haou and Yubel.

'Wake up Jaden!'

'That's it... Get angry...'

His friends noticed his behavior and decided to try and make him feel better.

"It's okay, Jaden," Syrus leaned over, looking at him.

Chumley followed his friend's movement, "Yeah, Sheppard's got a bunch of people out looking for Professor Banner. They'll find him!"

Jason nodded his head to his brother's dim mood, but noticed Yubel coming over to him.

"You need to smack some sense into Jaden regarding this vendetta of his." Yubel said, Jason raising an eyebrow to the spirit that was family to him. "Haou is getting closer to an opening to take Jaden over due to him feeding off Haou's love and desire for the power of the Beasts!"

Jason didn't know that and immediately gave his brother a disbelief look at the back of his head. His sudden look confused Asami, who was staring down at him from a few seats up and saw the look that crossed her boyfriend's face.

Chazz frowned as he heard Yubel say that.

'I gotta talk to the idiot about this. Why the hell does he want the Beasts?'

Chazz had lots of thoughts going through his head as he thought about this. Jaden wasn't anything like the guy that he had described to him and the others. He knew better than to want to use the power of monsters that had caused pain and death once before.

Unless Haou was cunningly letting his influence into Jaden, but Yubel's comment had killed that idea.

Like with Jason, Asami caught Chazz's scrunched up face towards Jaden.

Before Chazz could begin to say anything, a new voice called out...

"Good morning, students,"

Everyone looked ahead to see Crowler standing in front of the crowd, holding a planner book under his arm.

Crowler raised an eyebrow slightly as he moved to the center of the room, "Due to Professor Banner's absence, I will be your substitute teacher for the day. Aren't you lucky?" he muttered the last part as he placed the book on the podium, "Because I'm certainly not! It was supposed to be my day off!"

After a short time of cursing and complaining, Crowler placed a large paperboard on the wall behind him. On the board, a large, black, nearly complete circle with a dot was drawn in marker.

"Let's see..." Crowler flipped through Banner's planner, "Ah yes; the mark of Amnael. So that's where he left off, more alchemy nonsense, I see. Well, according to these tomes, the basis of this is..." Crowler frowned at the text, "Well... not that and I can't even make that word out..."

Asami leaned over to Alexis. "I bet my pack of gum he flips out..." she held the pack in question. Alexis giggled and nodded her head.

Sure enough, Crowler slammed the books closed, frustrated, "This is gibberish, and he's teaching you it!" he shook his head, "Maybe it's a good thing he's gone, I mean he's been poisoning your young minds..."

Asami and Alexis shared half the gum pack.

Jaden couldn't help but grin, "He hates this stuff!"

Syrus smiled nervously as the teacher ranted, "Actually, Jay, I think it's that he doesn't understand this stuff himself..."

After a short time of Crowler cursing, complaining and ranting, things settled down.

He held up a curved metal utensil and held it above a jar of clear liquid, "Alright, time for lab work... according to the syllabus, anyway," he mumbled, dipping the utensil into the liquid, "I think this is right...?"

The answer came quickly as the jar exploded, sending a small cloud of smoke into the air. The cloud wafted away and everyone saw Crowler's forehead was now branded with the utensil, the sound of sizzling meat dancing in the air.

Jaden let out a quiet laugh as Crowler screamed in both pain and anger, ranting about how useless Duel Alchemy was to him.

Jason also held his hand over his mouth to hide his grinning face.

Jaden sighed and propped his head on his arm, "I sure wish Professor Banner was still here..."

Syrus nodded, "True... but to be honest, he also blew himself up a few good times too,"

"True..."

"Mister Slifer Slacker!"

Jaden nodded his head. "Yes?"

Crowler looked straight at him, the mark burned into his forehead, "Chancellor Sheppard would like a word with you,"

"Me?" Jaden repeated slowly.

The Obelisk Head nodded and pointed to Jason, Asami, Alexis and Chazz, "The rest of the gang too,"

...

"What do you mean 'he's still lost', Professor Banner couldn't have just disappeared!"

Sheppard frowned as he looked at the crowd of students that stood around his table, "I'm sorry, but the bottom line is that we've searched everywhere and we can't find him,"

"And there's no log of him leaving the island...," Crowler added, trailing off.

Chazz shrugged, "Well... if that's the case, then we all know what happened... Banner got sucked into the Shadows."

Alexis glared at him, "Don't say that!"

"Well then you explain it!"

Sheppard shook his head, "No... you see, there hasn't been any new activity,"

"Either way," Jaden sighed. "We need to make sure, so it's best we look for Banner as well."

"Well said, but be careful," Sheppard warned. "There's still a Shadow Rider left."

"There's five of us and one of him," Jaden said. "We got numbers advantage."

...

A little while later, Chazz found himself walking the halls of the Academy, doing some thinking about what he needed to talk to Jaden about before he actually confronted him.

He needed to be ready to confront Haou in case this was what he expected it to be.

He expected Jaden to be under control by his much darker half.

And finding the words to start that conversation was a lot harder than Chazz ever thought it to be.

"Chazz?"

Hearing his name made him stop what he was doing before he turned around. Once he did, he saw Asami standing there looking at him all concerned like.

"Yeah?" Chazz asked, not sure what she wanted from him. He didn't mean to be rude, but he was sure Asami wouldn't be talking to him otherwise.

She took a deep breath, "I tried asking Jason this but he wouldn't tell me," she walked closer until there wasn't much space left between them.

Chazz found himself blushing just a little bit.

"Why are you and Jason mad at Jaden?" She asked. Chazz blinked ever so slightly. Mad? He wasn't mad at Jaden. Maybe a little confused, but he didn't know the whole story yet to feel any kind of anger to Jaden.

Jason on the other hand probably was. Chazz saw the look he gave his twin.

A look that obviously said 'You fuckin' idiot'.

Seeing she was patiently waiting for him to answer, Chazz shook his head, needing to think of a cover story to tell her. He was sure, actually positive, that telling Asami that Jaden wanted the Sacred Beasts was probably not the smartest move.

It was no secret that everyone in their group hated Haou. After hearing what he's done in his past life and trying to get Jaden to kill Jason out of mercy, he had no allies or support from them in anything he might wanna do.

Since Chazz wasn't sure if Jaden wanted the Beasts or not on his own accord, Chazz had, and wanted, to assume that Haou was playing puppeteer with Jaden as the puppet.

Seeing that Asami's patience was starting to thin, he spat something out, "Jaden woke up early this morning and put Jason's hand in warm water, then broke into my room and did the same thing to me..."

Where he got that, he didn't know. It was just the first thing that came to his mind. Ironically, he could picture Jaden doing this to either him or Jason.

The dick already got him in stupid dueling exercises, forced him onto a field trip where he was held hostage in a Shadow Game, and tried to get him roped up in an attempt to stink bomb Crowler.

Chazz was double checking his locks tonight.

Asami giggled, "Jaden made you guys pee the bed?" Knowing his pride would be gone for a little bit because of this, Chazz swallowed it and nodded his head. "That's so mean,"

"Yeah you tell me," Chazz sighed. "I have to clean my clothes now because of him." He was losing it on the inside with each second that passed by. Asami might tell someone, Jason obviously, and then Chazz would need to explain to her why he lied, which would lead into the truth, which would lead into her and everyone else losing their mind at Jaden's quest.

God help him.

"I won't tell anyone," her comment made him wanna jump up and down in excitement and gratitude. "That's embarrassing," she shook her head. "I wouldn't want anyone knowing that if it happened to me."

Chazz gave a legitimate grin over to her, "Thanks."

"Now I know why Jason didn't want to tell me," Asami realized. "He's probably embarrassed to."

"That's probably it,"

"I gotta say something," Asami smiled at him. "I like you like this..." she suddenly said.

"Like what?" He was genuinely confused on what she was talking about.

"Smiling, happy, and positive," she answered. "Unlike how you were before all mopey, angry, and depressed all the time before you came back here."

She meant the dark times. The times that Chazz looked back on now and asked himself what the hell was wrong with him. He hated that and was glad he could look back on all of it and play along that it was a bad dream.

He shrugged, "The twin boozos are to thank for that," he said. "They gave me what I always dreamed of getting. They gave me something that I couldn't win in a duel or write a check to buy it with..."

"They gave me a family that actually cares about me, one that won't hurt me or use me for their own gain..."

Asami gave him a sympathetic look as Chazz found himself thinking about Slade and Jagger and all they've done. He hasn't talked to them since he saved Duel Academy from being bulldozed by them. And he liked it like that. He wanted nothing to do with them, and all the avoidance and lack of communication between them made that easier for him.

"Just remember that," Asami nodded with a smile. "Just remember that Jaden and Jason are here for you now... And all of us too," she saw his confused gaze. "We're all friends now, Chazz, and we'll do anything for you..."

The kind smile she gave him gave Chazz butterflies in his stomach. Her words really touched his heart. He didn't think anyone else would wanna deal with him, Asami especially due to the horrible things he said to Jason when he was jealous of his and Jaden's relationship.

Things that he still apologized for every day to Jason and Jaden both.

"But the things I said to Jason..."

She sighed, "Am I pissed you said that stuff? Yes," Okay, so she didn't forget. "But I can see why you would say it... You were envious and you couldn't stand seeing something you wanted so badly so close to you and couldn't have it."

Wow, Chazz thought. That summed it all up perfectly.

"I don't hold your comments as something to not be friends with you. That was the old Chazz, the one that was cocky and rude; not the new Chazz that's more relaxed and polite." She grinned.

Chazz smiled more.

"Anyway, we're gonna start our search for Banner now," she said. "We're meeting at the Slifer Dorm in ten..."

Chazz gave a nod before Asami parted ways with him. Chazz found himself staring at her back as she walked away. When she left his field of vision, he sighed.

Maybe he did have more friends than he thought.

He turned to head in his own direction, his original idea of taking to Jaden now on hold because of their search for Banner.

But come the moment they found Banner and everything was said and done, he was sitting the former Supreme King down for a little chat.

...

The gang began their search inside the forest, but they came up short and lost.

"How'd we get into this mess!" Jaden swore.

"Blame Chazz," Asami snickered.

"My feet hurt," Chumley complained.

"I'm hungry..." Syrus whined.

Chazz stopped walking and turned, glaring at the group behind him. Jason, Asami, Jaden, Syrus, and Chumley stood behind him, looking surprised that they had stopped.

"Would you guys stop with the complaining?" He screamed. "I'm doing what I can here!"

Asami huffed and put her hands on her hips, "Yeah... you're doing what you can... and what you did helped you 'figure out' that Miss Dorothy was the final Shadow Rider," she murmured.

Chazz winced at the reminder of his bad guess.

"Yeah really good idea there, Chazz." Asami shook her head.

"I get it!" He exclaimed. He was starting to get annoyed with all the comments that were being fed to him about his bad detective work. He didn't see any of them throwing out theories.

Jaden put his hands behind his head, "What are we doing out here, anyway? I thought Sheppard said that they couldn't find him anywhere?"

Chazz smiled and held up a stick with a fuzzy white end on it, "Easy. With this cat toy, we'll just find Pharaoh. We find Pharaoh, we find Banner!"

Chumley sighed, "Didn't you try that already on Duel Monsters Spirit Day, Chazz?" he asked.

"Anyone got a better idea!?" Chazz snapped, having enough of the backlash.

Syrus raised his hand, "I got one! Instead of calling out to Pharaoh, how about we go with a different approach?" he suggested, taking out a black marker.

Everyone watched as Syrus' hands moved in a blur for a few moments, then the Slifer backed away, smiling widely at his work, "Now, Pharaoh will think that you're a cat... now, you just need a convincing meow..."

Everyone practically fell over laughing at the sight of Chazz's face. Syrus had drawn large kitty whiskers on his cheek.

Chazz's eye twitched as he cracked his knuckles, "Ohh... you think that's funny, that I'm a cat, huh? Well, lemme show you my claws, you Slifer Slacker!" He screamed, charging at them, causing them to run away laughing.

As the group ran off, three figures in nearby trees stepped out onto the branches, their eyes watching them closely.

"I'll take care of the girls..." the tallest one said as the other two nodded. "Leave the black haired kid for the tag duel." He said before they all vanished.

...

Alexis was walking to the Obelisk Dorm to check in on Atticus to see how his recovery was going. Despite his personality being back with a vengeance, his physical being wasn't as strong as it should be.

Which she knew from easily catching and pounding him for the picture ordeal on Duel Monsters Spirit Day and for the comments he had on hers and Jaden's relationship.

She smiled as she thought about him, about to meet with him after he finished looking for Banner and after she checked on Atticus. They both agreed that procrastinating the start to their relationship meant they had a lot of catching up to do.

She blushed thinking about how many kisses they were about to share.

The loud sound of glass breaking made her stop in her tracks. She stormed into the Obelisk dorm.

"Atticus!"

Alexis burst into Atticus' room to find that it was trashed, the balcony window wide open and shards of glass covering the floor. But that wasn't the only thing wrong in the room...a glowing circle with a dot in the middle floated above the glass shards, then disappeared from sight.

"What was that!?"

Alexis ran over to the balcony, seeing something in the distance. Alexis jumped off the balcony and raced after the figure.

Alexis chased after the figure for what seemed like forever until they came to a clearing. On the other side, the figure stood there waiting, under the shade of a large tree. It wore a tan, hooded cloak, wore dark clothes underneath with red sashes, hard, leather gloves, and a strange, black mask that had glowing yellow eyes that seemed to stare into her souls.

"Let us guess..." Alexis turned on her duel disk. "You're a Shadow Rider?"

The Shadow Rider, who had its own duel disk on, said nothing as he drew his opening hand.

"Alright... if you're not talking. Let's duel! And I'll beat an answer out of you!" Alexis shouted as she drew her opening hand.

"DUEL!"

Shadow Rider: 4000

Alexis: 4000

The Shadow Rider drew the sixth card and placed three cards facedown.

"That's it?" Alexis drew. "I play Polymerization fusing Etolie Cyber and Blade Skater to form Cyber Blader!"

Alexis's star fusion monster appeared. (ATK: 2100/DEF: 800)

"You picked the wrong Key-Keeper to mess with!" She yelled. "Cyber Blader, attack directly!"

As the blader charged through, the Shadow Rider activated his trap card.

"Negate Attack?" Alexis gasped as her attack was repelled. "I'll end with a facedown!"

The Shadow Rider drew his next card. He revealed one of his facedowns. Alexis saw it was Bad Reaction to Simochi. He then played Soul Taker, which destroyed Alexis' Cyber Blader. Instead of gaining the 1000 points, she lost them.

Shadow Rider: 4000

Alexis: 3000

"Ouch," she winced. His next facedown made her eyes widen...

Gift Card.

"No..." she whispered as a red aura took her over, making her scream.

Shadow Rider: 4000 (Winner)

Alexis: 0

The Rider held out a strange book with a golden eye in the middle and watched as Alexis slowly vanished while the eye glowed green. He then closed the book and left.

...

"Banner, you around?" Chazz looked around the forest as he, Jaden, and Jason, walked around, having separated from the others to cover more ground.

"Professor?" Jaden called out, "C'mon, it's us!"

"If you can hear us, say something! Anything!" Chazz shouted.

"AHHHH!"

The three boys spun around to see Syrus and Chumley running through the woods.

"SNAKE!" Syrus pointed behind them, "We saw a snake!"

"It was huge!" Chumley held up his hands to show the length, "It was like a boa constrictor."

Chazz rolled his eyes, "Whoop-dee-freakin'-doo,"

"We are in a forest, you guys..." Jaden reasoned, "Of course there's snakes,"

"But this wasn't natural!" Chumley whimpered.

Seconds later, the point was proven as a thick cloud of snakes fell out of the trees above them. Everyone screamed as the slithery serpents landed either on them, or very close by them. They all ran after that, but afterwards, Jaden noticed a face missing.

"Where'd Asami go?"

...

"I hate snakes," Asami was shuddering as goosebumps traveled up and down her spine. "I hate any reptile!"

She then noticed she was lost. "Guys, where are you!" Asami called out. "This is why I hate stupid snakes! They scare the crap outta me!"

She looked to see a glowing half-circle with a dot in the center... and Pharaoh just behind it.

Asami sighed in relief, "There you are..." she muttered as the cat walked over. She knelt down to pet the cat, but noticed something else. Frowning, she reached down and picked up a familiar pair of spectacles.

"Banner's glasses..." she looked at them, then looked around, "But where is Banner?"

Another mew from Pharaoh made her look up to see another glowing circle ahead of her. Asami walked up the path, and noticed a few other familiar objects on the ground.

"Banner's tie, and his shirt!" Asami picked them up off the ground and dropped them, looking around, "He's naked somewhere..." she shuddered. "Ewww!"

She then saw the same strange spiral mark appear on a tree.

"Where is that thing coming fr-"

Then, a twig snapping caused her to turn around to see a person with a cloak over his head, concealing his identity. Pharaoh meowed in fear before running off.

"Who are you?" She asked.

The person held up a book with the Millennium symbol on it.

"A Shadow Rider!" Asami shouted activating her duel disk while the Shadow Rider did the same.

Shadow Rider: 4000

Asami: 4000

The Shadow Rider drew his card. He didn't do anything.

"Bad hand?" Asami taunted as she drew her card. "I'll play my Gearfried the Iron Knight in attack mode!"

The black armored warrior appeared in front of her. (ATK: 1800/DEF: 1600)

"And then with Release Restraint, I can special summon my Gearfried the Swordmaster!"

Taking the field was Gearfried's true form. (ATK: 2600/DEF: 2200)

"Strike him down!" Asami commanded as the warrior launched himself forward and hit the Shadow Rider with a powerful punch.

Shadow Rider: 1400

Asami: 4000

"And I place a facedown to end my turn," she said as a facedown card appeared. "Once I beat you, there'll be no more Shadow Riders trying to get the Sacred Beasts..."

The Shadow Rider drew and activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy her facedown.

"Minor setback," she noted. Next Brain Control came on the field, forcing Gearfried to go over to the opponent's field. "Now that is a major setback."

She felt her heart fall to her stomach when Megamorph appeared next. (ATK: 2600-5200)

"No way..."

Gearfried launched an attack on his owner, ending the duel.

Shadow Rider: 600 (Winner)

Asami: 0

"Ahhhhhhh!"

...

"Where is everyone now?" Chazz asked as he and Jason searched another part of the forest. Jason shrugged his shoulders as he kept looking around. "Its like everyone's disappearing one by one like those crappy horror movies."

Jason managed a small smile at the joke.

"Chazz! Jason!"

The duo stopped and turned to see Chumley, Jaden, Syrus, and Pharaoh, Banner's fat pet cat running up to them.

Chazz sighed in relief, "Finally, somebody that's not mosquitoes or ants." He murmured as his friends caught up to them. "Was starting to wonder if you had up and vanished too."

"Anybody know where Asami went?" Jaden asked. "We can't find her anywhere..."

As if on cue, a loud scream ripped through the air, sending the owls in the trees flying into the sky.

"What was that?" Syrus and Chumley shrieked at the same time, holding one another.

Following the trail, the group of Slifers ran to the edge of a lake, where on the water's surface Asami's entire deck was floating around.

"Asami's cards..." Jaden whispered, dropping his flashlight, "But where's Asami?"

The soft sound of something hitting the water made Jaden look to see his brother start crying. Jason fell to his knees as he started to slowly pick each card up one by one roboticly.

"I'm sorry, Jason..." Chazz gripped his shoulder.

"I got a bad feeling about this..." Syrus squeaked.

...

At that moment, deep underground, the Shadow Rider stood over the mystical locks that kept the Sacred Beasts safe. The Rider held up his hand and three more slots in the locks began to shine brightly, leaving only three slots unlit. Six of the nine keys had been won by the Shadow Riders, meaning only three remained. The chamber began to shake violently as six beams of light shot forth from a small orb of energy.

...

"Earthquake!"

"Hit the deck!"

"Apocalypse!"

The group of Slifers watched as six huge pillars of light shot up around the island and rise high into the air as the whole island shook like.

"What was that?" Syrus squeaked out as the tremors died down.

"Something horrible, that's what!" Chazz said.

Jaden looked up at the pillars of energy, "I think I know, Sy, and if I'm right, it's definitely not good..."

End of Chapter 37 of Supreme King Jaden

I liked that moment between Chazz and Asami. Make note that that scene is the start to something important for the spin off.

Lexi and Sami are down for the count!

I bet none of ya were expecting Chazz to still be standing! Well, he is!

Now the final battles are about to begin!

And the question I have is this: If there are any artists amongst you, I have a request. It would be so awesome and mean a lot to me if someone can draw Jason and Asami so I can see them come to life!

Ifyou need a description on how they look like, just send a PM

Next Time: Chapter 38
