Vigilante Chapter 35 'Church Bells Ring'
A/N: Yo! What is going on people, here's the main chapter I wanted to present, the wedding for Ace and Lexi and to show Acexi some love. Lexi opened her eyes as she was excited for today, her wedding day.
She looked around but she didn't see Ace around, but she remembered that it was a custom to not see their fiancé on the day of the wedding until it actually started.
She quickly changed into a comfy outfit for now as she had to find the girls and prepare for later today. She wore a simple pink shirt with jeans with black converses, her ears stayed down as she didn't intend to use her super hearing anytime soon.
Once she was ready, she walked out of the house as she left a note saying that she'll be at the church.
Ace was in the attic as he remember everyone around him giving him advice as he told them that no one every showed him anything about the wedding.
He was meditating as he heard the door opened up, he opened one eye as he looked back, "What's up?"
"Its time to go Ace" Tech said as he, Slam, Rev and Duck were already in their tuxes.
"Ok, I'll get ready" Ace said as he got down from the attic and into the main bedroom.
"Ugh fine, don't take too long" Duck said as both Tech and Rev hit him on the shoulder, "hey, hey, watch the feathers."
Ace quickly changed into his tux that he secretly took.
Once he was set, he looked into the mirror only to see his hair a mess, "I'll let the others handle that at the church."
He walked out of the room as he and the others all left the house and entered their cars and drove to the large cathedral located in the center of the city. Originally Ace and Lexi wanted a small one as it only handled their close friends and family but thanks to the public as they wanted to intrude, they didn't much of a choice.
They stopped at a stop light as it just turned red but something was commencing nearby as they didn't see it right away, another store robbery.
Tech looked over to see something wrong and he seen the gun, so he used his phone, "Ace the store over there is being robbed."
Ace looked over to see the same thing, "We have to stop them."
"What!" Duck said as he was behind the group, "Are you kidding, your wedding is in 2 hours, we have to get there first."
"I agree with Duck, we must warn the police." Tech said as he pulled out his communicator, "Yes, there's a robbery at the intersection of 5th and main, at the Carl's jewelry store. The person is wearing a black ski mask with a pistol."
"On it sir"
Ace got out of his car as he charged over to it.
"Damn it Ace" Tech said as he and the others got out of their cars as the people were shocked to see Ace in the action today.
Ace searched around to see the layout of the place, he snuck around as Tech and the others were outside the store.
Luckily he found a back door as he entered the alley, he noticed that it was already picked so he walked into the store hopefully unnoticed.
He crept closer to the front portion of the store where the man was pointing his gun at the clerk as he was threatening him and making threats to the Loonatics outside.
Ace waited until he heard a roar of a chopper form the police, as it and many new police were surrounding the store, protecting the Loonatics.
"Come out now!" the new sergeant said as he was walking towards the front doors.
"Come and get it idiot" the robber said as he pulled his gun to the door, completely forgotten the clerk.
Ace walked over without making a sound as he tapped the clerk on the shoulder, telling him to run.
"What?" The man tried to spin and shoot but Ace had the upper hand, knocking the gun out of his hand as the sergeant ran in to tackle the man.
"Nice work Sargent" Ace said as walked out as he was happy another crime was stopped.
"Thanks, but you should be going now" Sargent said as he cuffed the guy.
"You're right" Ace said as he jumped back into the car and drove to the cathedral.
Ace got out of the car and ran into the large stone building, one of the last standing buildings in Acmetropolis built before 2125.
"You're late" Seth said as he opened one of the back doors, leading to his dressing room.
"Sorry about that" Ace said as he and the other guys all entered the building.
"We know, you're already on the news" Seth said pulling out his phone and showed them the latest news trend 'hero still stopping crime on his wedding day.'
"Wow, did you guys know the news crew were already there?"
"Yup, they showed up the moment the police were racing to our area." Tech said as he watched the news.
"If you'll be needing me, I'll be in the dressing room" Ace said as he tried to fix his hair in the meantime.
"Try to fix that mess!" Duck said as he and the others were already done before they left.
Ace opened the wooden door and seen a few people, seeing Yuri Zhōu and his little brother Tenshi.
"Welcome Mr Bunny" Tenshi said as he pulled out a comb and walked up to him.
"I didn't know you could do hair?" Ace said as he was curious how he could do so much as he was still blind.
"This was something I recently learned, it was tough as there was a lot of different learning material was used, but since we didn't have much to do, I had a lot of spare time" Tenshi said as he started prepping Ace's hair with some gel and spray.
Tenshi was working hard as Yuri checked his phone, "I can't believe, you of all people would still be doing their job during the day of their wedding?"
"We were at the scene, well outside in front of a red light."
"So you seen it, got out of your cars, went into the store and captured the guy?"
"That sums it up"
"Yeah and I thought we were dedicated to our careers" Yuri said as he checked, "by the way, most of Lexi's family would be seated on the left side, but hopefully someone like Seth or Duck don't reveal anything or act stupid."
Ace shook his head as he disagreed, "Nah, I know them, they wouldn't do something like that, I might expect someone get beat up before an explosion going on."
"What about the security?" Tenshi said as he was preparing the finishing touches.
"We don't really need the extra security, because almost all of you guys are already armed and ready for something to happen" Ace said as he knew some of the tricks they used.
Both brothers looked at Ace as he smiled and munched on a carrot, Yuri had his gun hidden in his coat, along with the younger sibling.
"Ok, and done" Tenshi said as he showed Ace a mirror, showing his work. His ways with the comb made Ace's short dark grey hair look very professional, slicked back with a few strands still normal.
"Wow, thanks Tenshi" Ace said as he got up, straighten his tux.
"If you need us, we'll be in the Nave" Yuri said as they closed the door, letting the bunny be alone for a while.
Ace decided to sit down as he just felt butterflies in his stomach, his heart was beating faster as the time was slowly counting down.
He looked at his phone to see that he only has a little less than an hour, he got up and started pacing to hopefully relieve his stress.
Lexi was finally done with the preparations, she had some trouble with the dress as some stitchings came loose but luckily they got the dress to work it out.
One she was lucky for was having shorter hair, less messing around. She contemplated to have her ear stand up or lying down, she decided to keep them down as she didn't need her super hearing during the entire time.
She was walking around in her high heels and they were uncomfortable, she had to listen to her friends and get them about 3 inches high, she likes high heels but also wearing a long white gown that was touching the floor. Her top portion has a sweetheart neckline and the bottom of the dress be a A line. She didn't like how revealing it felt so she also have a small lace jacket with 3/4 sleeves to ease it a little bit.
She had her makeup and jewelry all done as she was feeling the butterflies in her stomach as well.
"I can't believe it" she said as Skye opened the door, she and the other bridesmaids were wearing a sleeveless light pink tea length dress.
"Ugh, I hate the heels" Quinn said as she walked over to grab a pair of flat dress shoes to wear, "feeling the jitters?"
"You can tell?" Lexi said as she looked very nervous.
"I don't know about how weddings go but you're never this nervous before" Quinn said as she exchanged shoes, "at least you're about to be with the person you cared about for 7 years."
"Without you or the others, this wouldn't have happened?" Lexi said as they were the ones who showed Lexi the truth.
"True but even without us, you would've found out sooner or later" Quinn said as she was about to walk out of the room but she turned around and hugged Lexi, "good luck Lexi."
"Thanks" Lexi said as the wolf walked out of the room.
Lexi walked over to the counter where her veil was placed, she grabbed it as she to put it on. She pulled the veil over her face as she had to wait.
Ace was starting to freak out as Lexi was, both were wondering if they forgotten something or if there would be something bad would happen during the event.
Ace was pacing for a long time that he could've made a hole into the ground.
"Hey Ace, everything will be fine" Jack said as he, Daniel and Fred decided to tell him everything he will need to know.
"What if-" Ace said as Daniel closed his mouth.
"You don't have to worry, if something was to happen, like an army or anything, the fleet's outside and we're here just in case" Daniel said as Jack agreed.
"Anyway, we came to tell you about a few things"
"About?" Ace didn't expect any advice, but since they were already married, he should listen.
Lexi was thinking of many outcomes as she heard the door open, "Come in."
Both Judith, May and her mom walked in as they had the same intentions of telling her what she could do like Jack and Daniel do.
Her mother looked at her as she smiled, her youngest is getting married, "Lexi, you look so beautiful."
"Thank you" Lexi said as she spun around, admiring the dress.
"Hey Lexi, we're here to tell you about some secret rules that every couple must do"
"Ok?" Lexi slowly said as she didn't know what to expect.
"It's true that being a husband must be always following the wife, following her rules, but that's false, it's a bond where they both agree with the same ideas though there will be times where you both will fight." Jack said as he and May did fight a few times, thought they agreed to fight against each other to see who's right.
"Wow" Ace knew that a fight with his wife will be inevitable.
"You must know to never make yourself do all of the work, so do try to make your husband to do some of the work to lessen it for the both of you" Judith said as she didn't like seeing wives making their husbands do all of the work.
"It's common curtesy to help a lady when she needs help but I'm sure you already know about that" Fred said as he was giving some advice to his new son-in-law.
"Cool" both Ace and Lexi said as they were listening to their friend's advice.
Once the time was very close, the guests all walked over to the areas they need to be.
Ace walked up to the altar as he was waiting for the ceremony to begin.
Duck stood behind him, he tapped Ace on the shoulder, "Good luck Ace."
"Thanks Duck" Ace said as he looked at the priest, he was a person who watched many weddings going on, he even blessed the wedding of many agents. He knew who they all were but he smiled as the son of the duo was here today.
Lexi waited outside with her father as she waited for the music.
Fred looked at Lexi, his daughter as he was about to give away. He could remember all of the memories he had with her, along with David, Matthew, and Ashley.
His eyes were starting to tear up as he said, "You look so beautiful Lexi. I'm proud that you're my daughter."
She looked at him as she was happy, "I love you to papa."
She stopped as she heard the organ playing the classic song of 'Here comes the bride'
"Its time" Fred said as he and Lexi started walking.
Ace watched as he seen both Lexi and her father walking in, he was amazed by how Lexi looked so beautiful. He tried to look like he was staring but he couldn't help it.
Lexi seen how beautiful the place was, true, they planned it out but they didn't expect Zadavia and the teams to handle something this gorgeous. Flowers everywhere and holographic angels and birds flying around the area. She smiled as everyone did their best with the effects.
"Flying angels and birds, I didn't think that was part of the plan?" Duck said to Tech.
"That was my idea" Tech simply said as he smiled.
"Show off" Duck mumbled as he stood there.
Lexi was mainly watching Ace as she seen him, she never seen him this handsome before.
She didn't notice how many people were in front of her as she was walking past them, she was mainly watching Ace as he was at her.
When they were in front of the altar, she heard the priest say, "Who will be giving this woman to be married to this man?"
Fred simply said, "I do." He let go of her arm as he walked back to be seated by his wife.
Lexi walked up and held hands with Ace.
"You look so beautiful Lexi" Ace said as he made his signature smile.
"You look very handsome yourself" Lexi said as the priest cleared his throat.
"Friends, family, close loved ones, we are gathered here today to honor these two in holy matrimony. Ace Bunny and Lexi Bunny decided to be married before us today, for these two have loved each other unconditionally. To those who object to this, please speak up or forever hold you peace"
The entire crowd was quiet but some news reporters wanted to speak.
2 Remnants looked at them and pointed their guns at them, making sure they shut it.
The priest smiled as no one objected yet, "Good, now recite your vows young ones."
Ace decided to be first, "I, Avery Bunny, take you, Lexi Bunny, to be my wife. Loving what I know of you and trusting what I don't. I've liked you when we first met each day passed on, it grew into love" Ace said as he felt the tears starting to form, he decided to hold on until he had to finish, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you, for you're my true love."
Lexi was feeling emotional as he said that, "I Lexi Bunny, take you, Avery Bunny, to be my husband, my only partner in life. I will trust you as you trust me, love you each and every day, more than the last" Lexi paused as she was tearing up, "Regardless of our problems, it doesn't matter how tough everything would seem, only together we can find happiness in each other."
Lucian sniffed as tears were starting to roll down his cheeks, "So beautiful…"
Ella looked at him as she sighed, "I can't believe you brother."
"You don't see how they love each so much" he said as the tears were still going down.
"Snap out of it, you're a soldier" Ella said as he slapped him each time, though she could feel the same emotions as well.
"You're crying too sis" Lucian said as he seen her tearing up.
"Shut up" Ella said as she slapped him one more time, knocking him onto the ground.
Jack watched as Lucian got back up and continued watching, so he had a thumbs up to show he's ok.
Duck nodded as he walked over, presenting the embroidered pillow, presenting the gold rings.
Ace and Lexi picked one up as Ace slid the ring onto her finger, "I Ace Bunny give you Lexi Bunny this ring as an eternal symbol of my love to you."
Lexi slid the ring next saying, "I Lexi Bunny give you Ace Bunny this ring as an eternal symbol of my love to you."
"Do you Ace Bunny to take this woman to be your wife, through sickness and in health, rich and poor, life and death as long as you shall live?" The priest said to the bunny.
Ace nodded, "I do"
He looked over to Lexi, "Do you Lexi Bunny to take this man as your husband, through sickness and in health, rich and poor, life and death, as long as you shall live?"
"I do"
The priest smiled as he said, "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife" he clapped as he backed up one step.
Ace and Lexi leaned towards each other and kissed as everyone in the cathedral all jumped up to their feet and applauded the marriage couple.
Ace let go as he said, "I love you."
Lexi smiled as she said, "I love you to Ace."
