*Thank-you for the reviews on the last chapter.. they were greatly appreciated. Thank-you all so much!

A few days later we were back in New York. We hadn't spoken to Tessa since we got back but we were all on good terms again. It was the morning of New Year's Eve and Ryan was having contractions. She seemed to be right on schedule with the pregnancy and she was beyond being comfortable. I was doing everything I could to keep her comfortable. Her contractions were not close enough to go to the hospital but I was pretty sure we were going to end up at the hospital sometime that night. That's a great way to spend New Year's Eve; in a hospital waiting for your wife to give birth. I was hoping to have a son by the New Year and poor Ryan looked as if she could pop at any moment. Going by her screams I would say that I think that she wished she could get that baby out at any moment. "Are you okay?" I asked as I saw the pain in her face.

"Yeah," she said. "It hurts so bad. I forgot about this part of labor and how painful it can be. It's been what almost 8 years since I did this the first time. I just want this baby out of me."

"I bet," I said. "I have your bag packed."

"Thanks," she said. "Because I'm pretty sure I'm going to go today. I BETTER go today," she said. "Did you pack his coming home outfit?"

"Yes," I said. "I'm on top of this. How far apart are your contractions now?"

"About 15 minutes," she said, "so they are getting closer."

"That's good to know," I said. "When they get to be 5 minutes we'll head to the hospital. All right?"

"All right," she said, "and Brooke will meet us there to get Zola."

"I know," I said. "You just relax. I don't want you getting all worked up and worried. Just relax. Do you need anything?"

"Some water would be nice," she said. "With lots of ice."

"All right," I said walking into the kitchen to get her some water with a lot of ice. As I was getting her water my cell phone went off. I saw that it was Tessa and answered it right away. "What's up, Tess?"

"I'm in labor, John. I just arrived at the hospital. The doctor checked me out and I'm in labor."

"Wait, you're in labor?" I asked. It couldn't be. It couldn't all be happening on the same day. Ryan was not too far from being in full on labor and Tessa was in the hospital. It was funny how it was all working out.

"Yes," she said. "Are you going to come down to see me have the baby or what?"

"I guess Ryan and me could come. Are you sure you want us in the delivery room with you?"

"It's your baby. You two deserve to see her come into the world. I'm about 5 cm dilated but my water hasn't broken yet but she is coming, John."

"All right," I said. "We will be there. I promise. Just hang in there."

"I will," she said. "I will see you when you get here."

"Okay," I said. "Bye."

"Bye," she said.

I hung up the phone immediately and ran into the living room. "Ry, we need to go to the hospital right now."

"Why?" she asked.

"Tessa's in labor. Our baby girl is coming."

"What? Are you serious?"

"Yes. She's in labor. We need to go. She wants us there."

"All right," she said with a smile. "Let's go!"

We wasted no time going to the hospital. We were both really excited for the birth of our daughter that we forgot about Ryan going into labor very soon. We dropped Zola off at a friend's house and went straight to the hospital. We rushed into the hospital and up to labor and delivery. We signed in and were directed to Tessa's room. I knocked on the door before Tessa told us to come in. "Hello," she said.

"Hey," said Ryan with the biggest smile on her face. "How are you feeling?"

"Horrible," she said, "I'm waiting to get this baby out of me."

"I bet. Being pregnant kind of sucks at this point."

"I know," said Tessa, "I haven't seen my feet for weeks. I mean pregnancy has its joys but month 8 is not so much fun, neither is month 9 and then the labor and delivery not too fun at all but after you have that baby none of that matters."

"I know," said Ryan. "I know. Do you need anything? Or do you want anything?"

"No the nurse just gave me ice chips."

"Okay," said Ryan. "Ouch," she said as she had another contraction. "Sorry I'm having contractions. They are about 10 minutes apart now."

"You're getting there, Babe," I said.

I spent the next couple of hours making sure that Tessa and Ryan were both comfortable. I was helping them breathe through contractions and getting them things they wanted. Tessa was doing amazing she hadn't even gotten the epidural. She was doing it all natural. As for Ryan she was waiting the longest she possibly could to see a doctor. She was in a tremendous amount of pain and her contractions were coming every 3 minutes or so but it was not stopping her from being by Tessa's side. She told me that she was going to wait until Tess had the baby before she would see a doctor. We could be waiting for hours. I didn't think Ryan could last hours. She did not want to miss the birth of our daughter but what can you do? When you're in labor you're in labor. No matter how much I pleaded with her or Tessa pleaded with her she was not going to budge. I was pretty sure she was going to have our son right there in the chair she was sitting in without any help from the doctor. Then about an hour and a half later the craziest thing happened. Tessa sat up straight in bed and said, "my water broke. Get the nurse please."

"I'll get her," said Ryan getting up to get the nurse but as she was getting up there was a pop and soon there was a puddle around her feet and on the chair. "Um," she said.

"Ry," I said. "I think your water broke."

"It did," she said. "I think I should see that doctor now."

"Yeah," I said as I paged for the nurse. I couldn't believe it at all. Everything was starting to get a bit crazy because with both Tessa and Ryan in labor I didn't know whose side to be at when it came time to deliver and even worse what if they went to deliver at the same time? I was in a heap of trouble. As the nurse arrived into the room she checked on Tessa to tell her she was 8 cm dilated and it wouldn't be long until the baby was born and then she took Ryan into another room. Ryan insisted I stay with Tessa while she got checked out.

I sat and waited with Tessa for the nurse to come back in while the other nurse changed Tessa's sheets for her. "This is crazy," said Tessa. "Who would have thought we would both be in labor at the same time."

"Tell me about it," I said. "I don't' know what I'm going to do if you're pushing and she's pushing."

"I don't think you'll have to worry about that because I am further progressed than she is."

"That's true," I said as the nurse came in the room.

"Mr. Cena, your wife is in labor." She said this like it was some type of mystery. Ryan had been in labor she was just ignoring it.

"I kind of figured when her water broke," I said. "How far is she?"

"She's pretty far along. She's about 8 cm. She is going to have that baby tonight or just after midnight," she said as I looked at the clock. I had been so busy tending to their needs that I hadn't even looked at the time and pretty much forgot the fact that it was New Year's Eve. It was about 8:30 at night so we had been there for about 7 hours. It was a long afternoon but I'm sure it would be well worth the wait.

"Wow," I said. "I should go check on her. I'll be right back Tessa."

"All right. Be with her and when it's time for me to start pushing I'll send for you. I'm going to rest till it's time. Go be with Ryan."

"Okay," I said as I got up. "I'll see you soon."

"See you soon," she said as I opened the door to walk out. They had Ryan right across the hall from Tessa which was very convenient for me. That way I could go back and forth without a problem.

I walked into Ryan's room to see her hooked up to the monitor and she seemed a bit disappointed. "I tried," she said.

"Tried what?" I asked.

"To wait till after Tessa had the baby. I wanted to see our daughter come into the world."

"Ryan, you are on our son's schedule. If he wants to come he wants to come. There is no stopping him."

"Persistent isn't he? He is making sure he comes before his sister."

"I heard," I said. "Are you all right?"

"Yeah. Just in a lot of pain. I have a baby pushing on my pelvic bone but I'm all right. I guess if I have to spend my New Year's Eve somewhere I need to spend it here."

"Sounds like a blast," I said with a smile. "But it's all going to be worth it in the end."

"Yeah. I know," she said with a smile. "4 years for this. I am ready to hold both my babies."

"Me too," I said with a smile. "I love you."

"I love you too," she said.

I sat in her room by her side helping her through every contraction for the next 3 hours. She had been checked a couple times and she was about 8 ½ cm when they checked her at 10:45 so we were still waiting and we were still waiting for Tessa. At 11:30 there was a knock on the door. "Come in," I said as I was rubbing Ryan's back she was in a lot of pain and honestly I thought she was in a lot more pain than she should have been but I'm not a doctor.

"Mr. Cena, Mrs. Batista is ready to push. She is asking for you," said the nurse after she entered the room.

"Now?" I asked.

"Now," she said.

"Go, John," said Ryan. "I'll be okay."

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"I'm sure. Go ahead," she said.

"All right," I said as I got up and headed over to Tessa's room.

As soon as I got in the room her face lit up and she said, "thanks."

"You're welcome," I said as I walked over and took her hand. The doctor was ready for her to push. The doctor told her when to push and each time she let out a big push while squeezing my hand. There was a lot of screaming, some vomiting all for it to turn out to be the most beautiful thing in the world.

After about 20 minutes of pushing the baby's head was out. She was absolutely beautiful. She had a head full of black hair and the perfect little face. She was absolutely beautiful. Tears filled my eyes as I saw my baby girl's head. The doctor told Tessa to give him one big push and she would be out completely. "Come on, Tess," I said encouraging her. She let out a big push and the baby was out. The baby's cries filled the room as tears flowed from my eyes.

"It's a girl!" said the doctor as he handed her to the nurse for Tessa to hold.

"No," she said. "It's his baby girl. Give her to him."

"All right," said the nurse as she handed me the baby in a blanket. "Here you go, Dad."

"Thank-you," I said with tears in my eyes. There were no words to express how I felt at that moment. I handed her back to the nurse so I could cut the cord and she took her to clean her off. "Thank-you, Tessa. Thank-you."

"You're welcome,' she said with a smile. "I'm happy for you."

"Really. Thank-you."

"She is beautiful," said Tess. "I think she looks like you."

"Me too," I said with a smile as the nurse handed the baby back to me after performing the tests on her.

"7 lbs. 5 oz and 20 inches long. Time of birth 11:54. Happy New Year's!"

"Thank-you," I said. I looked at the clock and realized that we were just about a minute away from the New Year. "It's almost the new year."

"I know," said Tessa. "New Year new beginning," she said.

"New beginnings," I said with a smile. "Isn't that right?" I asked the baby. "You are so beautiful. Yes you are." I softly kissed her forehead as she slept in my arms. I couldn't have been happier at that moment. She was so peaceful as she slept in my arms. She didn't even wake up as we counted down to the new year. At midnight we all said, "Happy New Year!" And then the unexpected happen. I would like to assume that it was the heat of the moment and after everything happened but I leaned down and softly kissed Tessa on the lips. "Happy New Year," I said.

"Um…Happy New Year," said Tessa with a confused look on her face.

It didn't hit me what I did until the nurse from Ryan's room came in and said, "Mr. Cena, it's time.. Your wife is ready."

"My wife? Oh Yeah.. Tess, can you hold her while I go to Ryan?"

"Sure," said Tessa as I handed her the baby. I walked out of the room and over to Ryan's room. I was so excited over our daughter that I had forgotten about our son who now about 3 minutes after midnight was ready to come into the world. It was funny how it was all working out.

I walked into Ryan's room and said, "I'm here…" I looked at her and saw that she looked different than before. "Ry?"

"John, I'm glad you're here," she said weakly. She was not looking good at all… not at all.
