Why am I wet?
A chilly breeze gusts over my moist forehead, sending another shiver down my body. I scrunch my eyes, splotches of light shine upon my lids. It takes a moment for me to assess the state of my body.
.Stiff
I peel my back from whatever I was leaning on; I can feel the grooves indented into my flesh. The thing I sit on sways back and forth, the thought that I may be on a boat sends panic in my chest.
I force my eyes open, the world is bleary and in gray scale, my eyes refuse to focus on anything. A couple of blinks and squints later, I can see a sea of leaves beneath me. I let out a sigh, only the trees at the institute that are laced with magic stay green all year long.
Wait a minute
I'm in a fucking tree.
Well that's new
Never woke up in a tree before
The moment I pear down to the forest floor, vertigo hits me like a truck and nearly throws me off the branch. I clutch onto the rough bark for dear life, the world spinning around me. I wrap my arms around the wood, not caring about the sharp edges digging into my bare arms.
Fucking
Piece
Of
Flaming
Horseshit
I try not to focus on how the tree feels like it's doing a nose dive, or how the wind feels like it's trying to blow me off the face of Valoran, or how…it sounds like I'm surrounded by wind chimes?
My eyes ease open, they focus on the tiny cervices of the tree bark. Gingerly, I pry myself off the branch once more and lift my head up.
Oh shit
Helmets, headpieces and goggles decorate the tree branches above me like a snowdown tree. With another gust of wind, they clank together, the sound reminds me of the vials of brilliance on my bed. My eyes dart about; I can spot Zigg's goggles, Jarven's crown, and even Lee Sin's blindfold. They all look fairly new and unused unlike the usually ones they wear.
Are these their spare ones?
A flash of light catches my attention and with reflexes that had kept me alive on the streets, I reach out to catch a falling helmet knocked free from its perch. The metal is smooth and polished but the worn cloth lining on the inside tells stories of a multitude of battle. It takes a moment for me to recognize it.
"Ms. Vi"
Perfect timing
I don't even look up to hand Kayle back her helmet. It's gently lifted from my hand. The flapping of her wings jingle the helmet further, I spare her a glance when I hear her amused chuckle. I scour her face for any hints to what I did while I was blind; she's as unreadable as Caitlyn.
"You have no idea what you did for the last three days, do you?"
Three days!
"What" My mind shuts down.
I was blind for three days?!
"I take that as a no." She chuckles once more and tucks the helmet under her arm. "You have a lot of items to return, I suggest you start before the others realize they're missing." She sounds smug before flying back down, disappearing into the darkness of the trees.
I let out a loud groan, leaning my head back onto the trunk of the tree. I don't have the slightest idea of where to begin.
Fucking Jinx
My stomach drops when my eyes spot a very familiar, yellow trimmed, purple top hat perched on one of the highest branches.
Fuck me
