Summary: this is what think could happen after Steve finds out she joined up with the CIA

After Brennar left his office and he headed home Danny stayed around for a while before heading home. Steve decided he needed to think about a few things but something had been bothering him since seemed that someone after his team. He went inside to grab his keys before heading to Pearl Harbor. Once at the gate he showed the guard his military id and headed to a building in the far back noting there was quite a few man standing around but he went straight over to someone in fatigues, "Smooth Dog what you-"

He stopped his friend, "Need to talk."

Other man lead him to an office, "Seeing you here is never a good thing."

"Turns out that found out some new information but need your intel."

"Other words you want to use my computers without getting in some major trouble?"

They both laughed, "No idea what you mean."

"I can't promise anything but you know am here," he leads him to a room with load of computers. "What's going on?"

"Turns out Catherine joined up on an OP with the CIA-"

Another man stopped by them, "And something is telling you she's in trouble?"

He plugged a USB into a computer, "Seems that she went to Kiev but someone was hacking into files."

"You even though everything says she's should be okay something is telling you different?"

Another two guys in fatigues walked into the room, "Commander, this stuff can get you into some trouble."

They all laughed, "Want to talk about all of this?"

Steve was typing away at the computer, "And of this is making no sense to me."

The second man looked at the screen, "This is just telling about the op that she's on and where but nothing much more. Seems like she was trying to get infiltrate a cartel with some connections to smuggling weapons, drugs and humans into countries all over the world."

Steve read some more but cursed, "Carlito Reyes thought he was dead."

All of them watched as he stormed out of the room pulling out his phone and only one of them followed him to where he was standing on a roof. The two just stood there as he had a conversation in Russian and his friend could tell wasn't a good thing.

"JJ, going to say something?"

"What the hell is going on? Everyone knows that Reyes is a wanted criminal all around the world but why accept this?"

JJ shook his head, "I don't know why but you know her the best."

"I don't know but know someone that may know."

His friend was smirking, "You found something in all of that information and trying to hide it."

"And sure you want my help finding him?"

A few hours later, JJ and Steve headed to an old building that was on other side of the island that looked like was abandoned and walked over knocking on the door. An man opened the door and seeing them there shook his head before letting them inside, "What you two want?"

Steve shook his hand, "Price, nice to see you too."

The old man poured them coffee, "McGarrett, seeing you is never a good thing if don't call first."

JJ started laughing, "Tell me something that don't know."

"Not that don't mind the company but what's going on?"

JJ handed him a USB, "Need some info."

"Can see what pull up," he pulled up the files. "Seems whomever is in these files is trying hard to stay hidden but you can see that someone tried to access these files recently but got nowhere. But I think you already know that but you want to know what?"

"Can you tell me anything else?"

JJ scrolled some, "Seems they were getting close to snatching him."

The older man looked more, "I can't find anything more other than thought he was somewhere in Kiev."

Back at Five-0 headquarters, Danny watched as his partner and another man walked into his off but could tell something was off. The two of them sat down both talking on their cellphones as Grover walked over knocking on his door, "So he came back but whose that?"

"An old friend that was in the Seals with," Danny told him.

"You talk to him about it all?"

"He said would have done the same thing to protect her if was up to him."

"But you don't believe him? Something else is bothering him."

Chin walked in, "Seems that have some military personnel waiting to be escorted in here."

Danny shrugged, "Not sure this is good."

"Someone want to ask the obvious question as to why a case like this involving classified Intel with Catherine is possibly leaked and all of a sudden headquarters is swarming with Navy?"

Danny sighed, "We all know how much she means to him even after leaving like that but they are there for him."

Grover looked over at the other office, "Something not telling me?"

"On a few occasions they have come in handy," Kono said. "That are off the book."

Grover was still confused, "How does that involve them?"

"She use to be Navy Intelligence much going on with his team so-"

Steve looked out at where he was sure his team was watching, "You sure?"

JJ nodded, "Seems he was trying to hunt down the people he feels responsible for his friends to be killed."

"Thought someone was trying to kill us."

"Seems that whoever had this before was trying real hard to get into these," one man said.

"But was told didn't happen."

JJ shook his head, "Whomever it was made it seem that way but a little peek into the files."

Steve started pacing around, "What the hell happens from here?"

"We call the CIA and they can-"

"We both know that could take days or weeks we need to be there now."

JJ nodded, "Sure if can put our heads together can think of something."

The team watched as the other man left and their team leader got on his phone in what seemed to be a heated conversation. Danny ushered them out of his office reassuring them that he would find out what was happening but they were all worried for the man.

Steve didn't need to look to know who walked in his office, "Not the time."

Danny stood there until was off phone, "Want to tell me what that was about?"

"Just catching up with an old friend, nothing more."

"Uh huh, and nothing to do with Catherine?"

Steve knew the other man figured out, "JJ, is trying to help me figure out what's going on."

"Want to tell me what know?"

He handed him a file, "Carlito Reyes, he has been wanted in several countries around the world for years."

"I have heard the name before but how does this involve her?"

"An OP years ago she was involved in that thought he was killed in and turns out has been in hiding. He came out of hiding for some reason for revenge."
