Next chapter! Alot of the fight scenes I had to think up off the top of my head as I was writing it. I also decided to add in a scene with Danny and what was going on while he was Roger's hostage. I also added an interesting addition to Paulina and her backstory. Review please!
It was hard keeping Danny Phantom from taking control, while playing hostage. At the same time, he could sense Danny Phantom's emotions of worry for the past few hours, since signaling him to not change. Often, Danny would let his ghost friend have his turn in protecting Amity Park or spending time with his family or friends. The fact that he was now signaling Danny Phantom to not change was starting to worry the ghost boy. Still, Danny had to keep him from revealing himself or possibly risk his family being in danger.
Having woken up from dozing off, Danny gasped slightly, looking around him to find himself in the same room he was kept in by the Royal Gang to create some sort of anti ghost weapons. The guns were still in the process of being created. He moaned quietly before noticing a note beside him. His eyes widened slightly as he read the note.
'You could have told me you were being held hostage and there was a ghost shield in the room. I hope you know what you're doing, Danny.'
"Of course you would change, while I'm asleep," Danny muttered in annoyance. This was why he didn't want to change. The Royal Gang suspected that Danny would've had ghost pawns or friends to help him, so they turned on a ghost shield they bought off the black market.
There was a banging on the door, which made Danny flinch, then a shouting, "THOSE GUNS BETTER BE FINISHED!"
"YOU SAID TWO DAYS! IT'S ONLY BEEN ONE!" Danny screamed, not that he cared.
The door opened and Roger burst in, seeing Danny working on the Anti-Ghost Guns. Of course, there was only a table and chair on a bare wooden floor that was filled with dirt and dust. There was a battery-powered lamp in the middle of the table. Danny didn't bother looking at Roger, wanting to focus on busying himself with the guns and hope that his friends or family, that weren't held by Roger, would find him. He purposely set two days to give himself time to find a plan of escape or wait for help.
Unfortunately, that didn't stop Roger from taking his frustrations out on Danny, even while he was working. He probably should've watched Roger, because he then took the legs of the chair Danny was sitting on, and flipped it over. Danny hit his head on the floor, rolling on his hands and knees before being kicked from the side.
"WORK FASTER!" Roger yelled, while throwing the chair at Danny.
Danny could feel the metal hitting his body as he began picking himself up, then noticed drops of blood on the floor. He realized it came from the side of his head. At the same time, he felt the pain from the kick. Suddenly, Roger was about to hit him with the chair again as he tried covering himself with his arms, then felt the brunt of the hit on his arms and head.
"I SAID WORK FASTER!" Roger yelled.
"I am! I am!" Danny cried as he fearfully ran back to the table, then focused on the guns. He didn't know what else to do other than do what this maniac said out of survival. He felt shameful, but mostly afraid.
"Good! They better be done when I get back!" Roger shouted, slamming the door. "And, no back-talking!"
"Right," Danny quietly said, noticing how much his fingers were trembling. Watching this in shame, he realized something. "I wish those were Dash's punches."
Emotions were building up inside Danny, those were of helplessness and fear. He had been trying to keep them intact for the sake of his ghost friend inside of him. Though, for the moment, he forgot how. He had to keep focusing on the guns. He would not notice the hidden anger coming from the ghost inside of him.
Dash knew very well where the Pipe and Dump Valley were. He had been involved in gangs long enough to know. He did notice the police moving toward Walt's and Lee's location to ask them questions. A sigh instantly left him. He knew that his friends would hate him for this, but he also knew that the safety of his friends were more important to him than any bonds he may have. Walt and Lee had grown up rough lives and knew the streets like it was part of them. Danny didn't know any of this and his bullying experience at school was child's play compared to what he was probably facing right now.
It was why Dash made haste, the girls trying to catch up to him the best they could. As soon as they entered the alley, Paulina seemed to be a bit more familiar with the location. Dash assumed it was because Paulina lived around this area, which was the Western part of Amity Park, but he also did not ignore her outburst with his friends. It seemed that Paulina was a little more aware of the rough parts of town than she was willing to admit.
As soon as they made it through the strange alleyway, there was a huge pipe that was located inside a small ditch. It was why this area was called the Pipe. Sam and Jazz stared in awe as Dash hopped onto the pipe, followed by Paulina.
"Come, amegos! Thís way!" Paulina called, snapping the other two girls out of their daze, who then proceeded to follow her.
There were several abandoned areas and only one was the location where the Royal Gang kept Danny. Dash had to proceed carefully and use stealth to find his friend. It wouldn't be hard as soon as he heard shouting.
"I SAID WORK FASTER!" Roger's voice was heard.
"Roger always was a loud mouth," Dash muttered in a whisper.
"Where's Danny?" Jazz asked.
"I heard his voice from over there, but we need to find a shortcut inside or Roger will find us out."
"Wé cán sneak from the síde," Paulina said, crawling on her hands and knees around the building, then finding a basement window. It was obviously locked from the inside.
"How do we get inside, unless we break the window, which will gain their attention?" Sam asked as Paulina smirked, then dug into her purse to get out a hanger that was unbent and untwisted, so it was a long metal cord with a hook. She squeezed the hanger through the crack of the window, then pushed and turned it to where it would turn and unlock the window. With lots of concentration and skill, Paulina successfully unlocked the window.
"Lo encontró," Paulina smirked as Sam rose her eyebrows.
"Dang, if I had known you could break through windows, I would've been friends with you a long time ago," Sam grinned as Paulina carefully opened the window, so everyone could enter inside.
The gang quietly made their way down the hall, after Dash closed the window they came out of. They successfully made their way pass Roger and his passe without being seen in another room, then began looking in other rooms.
"How do we know which room is where Danny is at?" Jazz asked in a whisper.
"Roger often places his hostages in the back, usually where no windows are located, so we'll have to figure out which parts of this building are windowless. Since Roger is in that room over there, Danny shouldn't be too far," Dash whispered, pointing to the room they all just passed when sneaking passed Roger and his gang.
"He could be in the restroom or a walk-in closet."
"Thís ís a básement. There míght bé a storáge room," Paulina said as if she already knew there was. She was looking around, almost as if she was trying to remember which room this storage room was located.
"There are windows over on that part of the building," Jazz mentioned, pointing to the corner ahead of them. "So, it has to be in the middle over here." She opened a huge door quietly and carefully, which made a slight bit of noise, but not loud enough to be heard.
As soon as Jazz entered inside, she spotted Danny on a chair, at a small table with several guns he seemed to be working on. As soon as he saw Jazz, Danny shot up, flipping the chair to its side, then ran and hugged Jazz.
"Danny, thank goodness- what happened?" Jazz asked, almost not controlling the sound of her voice.
"You! You just couldn't stay away from us, could you!?" Roger's voice was heard down the hall.
Dash stood in front of the gang, while Paulina seemed to stay slightly behind him and also taking a defensive stance.
"What the heck did you do to him!? I told you to stay away from my friends, but I guess you have a terrible habit of not listening!" Dash threatened as Roger laughed.
"And, how in this world do you plan on standing against the three of us? I already broke your little lab dog and you think these three little girls are of any help?"
"I'll 'áve you know thát you wíll fínd yourself ín mucho of trouble," Paulina said darkly.
Roger raised his eyebrows, then his smirk turned into a frown. He said, "there's something familiar about you. I don't know who you are, but I am about to take you down."
"You can forget it!" Dash replied.
"Says who?" Roger smirked.
"Says me and my little friend," Paulina said darkly.
A fight broke out as Dash pinned Roger against the wall and Paulina pulled out a knife tied to a small rope. It hooked onto the shoulder of one of Roger's friends, who screamed in pain before the knife was yanked off. The other friend, meanwhile, ran after Jazz and Sam, who were helping Danny run from them as fast as they could. Sam proceeded with taking one of the guns that Danny made, aiming it for one of Roger's friends, then shooting him in the chest. He screamed as something painful and sharp entered right inside him, making him scream and cover his wound.
"What the heck did you put in these? They're not Anti Ghost weapons, are they?" Sam asked.
"They're like pellet guns, only they shoot like sling-shots and once they enter into the human body, small sharp glass rips through the front and through the back," Danny grinned slightly as the bullet cut through the back of Roger's friends.
"What did you plan on doing after finishing them?" Jazz asked.
"Use them to save you," Danny replied with a slight frown as Jazz shook her head sadly with worry. Of course Danny would do something like this.
Just then, Danny gasped, falling on his hands and knees before changing into Danny Phantom. Opening his eyes, he flew into the ceiling, leaving the girls staring where he left.
"The only thing that bothers me is that he didn't try doing that earlier?" Sam said with confusion in her voice.
"Yeah, that actually had been bothering me for a while. Usually, the Phantom Danny would escape quietly or beat up the gang without question, so why didn't he?" Jazz questioned.
"Didn't Dash's jerky older brother say something about these jerks wanting Danny to make Anti ghost weapons and the gang now getting involved with ghosts?"
Jazz's eyes widened at the same time Sam's did and they both cried together, "there's a ghost shield!"
Dash and Paulina were cornered by Roger and four other gang members. Paulina still had her knife with her, tied with a small rope, while Dash had his fists. Roger smirked, getting out his gun and pointing it at the duo.
"As they would say in old Mexico, hasta la vista, perra," Roger said, cocking his gun before being punched from behind. He fell frontwards on the ground, turning and finding non other than Danny Phantom, who seemed even more angry than usual.
"You stupid ghosts! Always wanting to tear up my turf! Where are those guns!" Roger yelled.
"You are despicable people," Danny said, chuckling darkly. "Beating up and torturing those weaker than you, while making them do your dirty work. Unfortunately, you picked the wrong person to do this with."
"So what? You're the Fenton's bodyguard? And here I thought that was Dash's job now," Roger mocked as his friends surrounded the ghost boy.
"I'm a little more than that," Danny said, jumping up in the air, floating, then twirling around with his leg at their direction. He kicked down every single one of Roger's gang members, who were all knocked down.
Paulina twirled the rope, then swung it at Roger's direction, sticking the knife right below his collarbone. He screamed at the top of his lungs as Paulina pulled on the rope, while kicking Roger right at his back spine. He was knocked down flat on his back as the knife was yanked from his skin. Blood began flooding from his shoulder as he covered it, while turning on his hands and knees, trying to get up and go after Paulina.
"You... stupid...!" Roger seethed before Dash picked him up by the collar, then pounded his face against the brick wall.
"That is for my pal!" Dash shouted as Roger's face was now almost covered with his own blood. He turned to his two friends. "Let's get out of here. The police will take care of it from here."
Danny took a deep breath, then nodded as he focused on leading himself and his friends to safety. If not for the fact he was sharing a body with his human partner, he would've stayed and continued beating Roger until his entire body was covered in red. Though, there was a constant protection for his human partner, especially when having to endure feeling constant fear and having no control to do anything about it. Following his friends, he noticed Sam and Jazz joining them with a metal box that was non other than the ghost shield.
"So, that's where that stupid ghost shield was at," Danny said.
"Are you alright?" Jazz asked with worry in her voice as Danny smiled and nodded.
"I'm alright. Thanks for helping us out," Danny thanked everyone as they all smiled.
"Kids, are you alright!?" One of the cops called from the outside as Danny quickly switched back with his human partner.
"We're fine! We found Danny, though it got violent along the way," Jazz replied as the police nodded, then made their way through the hallway.
"We'll take it from here," the cop promised as they police went inside to find Roger and his lackeys. They were arrested and handcuffed very quickly.
As the kids made their way out of the abandoned building, Dash walked beside Paulina, giving her a worried look. She looked up at him, then stopped. She took Dash's arm, then looked toward her friends.
"Wé'll cátch úp wíth you, amegos!" Paulina promised as her and Dash faced each other, making sure there were no witnesses.
"Paulina... you seem... I don't know..."
"Mi abuelo rúns a Drúg Cháín. I 'ád been a párt óf thát fór years untíl mónths ago, áfter I was fríends wíth you ánd Danny. I never told Papa about ít, bút 'e knows ít exísts. 'e was also a former member. It's why 'e dóesn't trúst you. 'e knows you were ónce a Royal Gáng member," Paulina admitted.
"That's why you can smuggle random stuff in your purse," Dash realized, showing a slight smirk.
"Prómise you wón't tell ányóne? Íf mi padres find out... I cán't bétráy mi abuelo. 'e means everythíng to me... éven if 'e rúns án illégal órgánízátion,"
"Paulina," Dash whispered, gently caressing Paulina's cheek, while their foreheads touched. "I won't hurt you or your family. I don't need my family or the gang. My family is right here and over there." He pointed his thumb at where Danny, Sam and Jazz left.
"Gracies," Paulina whispered. There was a pause, then she placed a kiss on Dash's lips. Dash pulled Paulina close and kissed her back before they parted. Both of them smiled.
"Am I gonna have the talk with your old man?"
"We'll see," Paulina giggled, winking before taking Dash's hand and they caught up with the rest of their friends.
