Chapter 36
The battle continued.
it was a big – huge of a mess.
The Chaills where thankful cause most of the Lucians wore black, so they were easier to recognize.
Amy and Dan did their best, together, to protect wounded Madison, Natalie and Jonah, who were a little fighting even though they were in pain, and bleeding.
Both of the siblings were exhausted, desperation and tiredness was in Amy's kind-green eyes, and Dan fought like a maniac, twirling again and again with knife in his hand.
Hamilton looked like it was his time to shine.
It was amazing.
Ha twirled, kicked, punched, and with every hit or a blow he had blown, he got more and more pissed and crazy-like. Like...Like a bear. His blue eyes were looked like he had lost any sense that had been existing inside of him.
Which was funny, because a bear, was the symbol of the Thomas.
Ian was not bad himself, either.
He was very sharp, very directed, and very deadly.
That was a Lucian stronghold.
He might not be considered as a Lucian to some of the Lucians, or even to some of the non-Lucians, but there was something right in his psychotic-mother words.
He had had been the best of the best Lucians.
And in his opinion, he still was.
He beat most of the Lucians there like a Domino game, using his muscles, but more than that - his brain.
And at the time...his target was one.
Isabel.
When he was finished with the Lucians who surrounded him, he looked at Isabel, who's face were twisting in what he knew to be horror. She knew she was losing.
About time.
He marched towards her. "Come on, mother, come show me how a pitifully of Lucian I am," He said, marching towards her.
She couldn't much move, and Ian knew why.
The arrow he had shot in her. It was poisoned.
"Always watch your back, huh? Don't you ever trust anybody." He told her, looking at her. "That's what you told me, you remember? Well, it's all comes back to you now."
Then – To his surprise – A smile spread in her lips.
A bit shot of a panic had passed through him, but he didn't let it be seen. He was just looking at Isabel, his dark-now eyes looking directly at her, waiting on her moves.
"Stupid boy," She eventually said, pleasure was seeing all over her face. "Do you really think I wouldn't be immunized to a Lucian poison?"
After a second of quiet, She jumped off, landing on a high stage.
She pushed a red bottom on the wall, and the ceiling... exploded.
A loud deafening "BOOM" was heard, and everyone bent down to not get hit, as the smoke covered all of the area.
When they opened their eyes once again, the ceiling was gone, and instead, a blue-dark skies were seen upward.
"Damn it, no," Said Ian, as he shielded his eyes with his arm. He realized that Isabel was escaping, and right before his eyes. He wanted to scream.
He ran, but to no avail.
She was already upwards, preparing for her runaway.
But not quite yet.
Before leaving the destroyed, ruined, disaster place – her eyes scanned the place till her eyes widened.
she found the person she was looking for, and a gun was drawn in her hand.
For a millisecond, all the world stopped.
Ian felt his blood freeze, as he looked to where Isabel was pointing the gun.
Amy.
She was the one Isabel hated the most.
Isabel always claimed that Amy was the disaster to everything.
No.
No.
No,No,No,No,No,No,NO!
His eyes widened, and he didn't even think.
Nothing had crossed his mind before he made up his move.
"NO!" He screamed unknowingly what passed through his head, and jumped off, just at the moment that Isabel shoot the gun.
Nobody could help but stare as he did that, everything was happening like a slow-motion, but so fast, and they couldn't do anything but stare.
The bullet hit his chest when he was in the air, and he felt like he was shoved so hard that no air remained in his body. blood streamed out of the round red-dark injury, while he was still in the air.
He fell to the ground with a bang, and rolled up a bit, not responding, dark-red blood was starting to encircle him.
Isabel had stared, the shock was written all over her dark eye.
She hadn't moved for a moment, before the mayhem happened and she remembered she had to get away.
Nobody cared when she did.
"IAN!" Amy screamed, running to him, and she rolled him to face her, lying him on her lap, while screaming in panic. Tears were streaming down her face.
"No, no, no, no ,no you don't do this to me! You don't do this to me!" She screamed, while everyone encircled her, trying to hit him to get him back to conscious.
She slapped him a few times, hysteric. "You don't do this to me, you don't do this to me, do you hear me? You don't. Ian don't you dare die on me–" Her voice muffled through her sobs, she honestly couldn't believe that was happening.
Ian opened his eyes, barley.
his vision was muffled, but he was still somehow comfortable on her, despite the horrible pain he was having in his chest. He also couldn't breathe fine, and the rest of his body was aching as well.
He couldn't think.
He looked up and saw her face, tears streaming down them.
"Hey," He said gently, wanting to tell her to stop crying, he managed to raise his arm to brush her cheek a bit, but fainted again and his arm droppped.
Suddenly, a strong muscular arms lifted him up, covered in blood.
Hamilton's arms.
His blue eyes looked at Amy, with mixed up feelings.
"Amy, we got to get him to a hospital now." He said, and started heading to the van outsides, when everyone was following.
"Don't...worry, yo, He'd...be... alright?" Said Jonah, hesitantly, trying to help but not really helping.
"God, how much blood.." Mumbled Madison, looking at Ian's body.
Dan was trying to calm hysterical Amy and Natalie down, but ended up between the two crying girls who probably didn't hear a word of what had been said.
Hamilton was driving the van like crazy.
They had already let Uncle Fiske and the Starlings know of the situation on the phone, they were waiting for them in the hospital.
Amy couldn't hear anything. Her heart was racing like crazy, and she felt all the hysteria coming back to her. She felt like...She couldn't breathe.
She couldn't lose him. She couldn't lose him. He couldn't die. No. She cared too much...He couldn't die. Not...another person she loved.
If he dies...She wouldn't be herself anymore. She wouldn't be able to pick up the pieces of her own. He was the one who helped her pick up the pieces when she couldn't move on from her parent's death.
Now, she wouldn't be able to take it anymore.
"Please be ok...Please be ok...Please be ok..." She said over and over again quietly to herself, only Dan who sat next to her could barely hear her.
Even she herself couldn't hear herself.
She was in too much panic to hear.
When they finally got into the hospital, Hamilton took Ian on his arms and flew like a plain to the gray building.
At the hospital, a bunch of nurses took Madison, Natalie and the others to make some tests and take care of, cause they were wounded too.
Nurses and Doctors were running upside down the building, taking medicines, test tube's with blood, people were running up with stretchers, the hospital was alive and kicking, and it was only six AM.
Only Amy and Hamilton and Fiske (And eventually Natalie, who fought to stay and see what was happening with her brother) where there when the doctor checked his injuries with a torch.
"Doctor, how bad is he injured? What are his chances?" Uncle Fiske asked worryingly, while Amy was still too shocked to actually speak, and was just listening and holding back sobs and tears.
The doctor sighed and frowned, looking up at him from his torch. "I'll be honest with you, this one is in a critical condition, the bullet is only a few centimeters from his heart.
The surgery is very dangerous, but we don't have a choice. His chances to get out from this alive are...are barley thirty percents."
"Thirty?!" Amy's eyes winded, as a new whole wave of tears began to be made up in her eyes.
"Dear," Uncle Fiske was trying to get to her, but she wasn't listening, looking shocked at the doctor.
The doctor nodded at them, looking worried, and got up. "I'm sorry, we have to take him to the surgery right now."
The other two doctors who were there ,started pulling Ian up on the stretcher, but just then Ian woke up again, and it was important.
"Wait." He barley whispered, his eyes were closed, but he could sense her.
She was close to him, next to him. For a millisecond, they had stopped, but that was all that he needed.
Now was the time. The one and only moment he needed.
He needed just that, before he was probably going to die.
This was his chance to tell her what he had wanted to tell her, so badly, so desperately, it was screaming inside his heart – but he couldn't.
Now he could.
And this was the last thing he wanted to do before dying.
In the last millisecond before he was taken away, he murmured –
"Amy, I love you."
