Well hello, would you like a shiny new update? Thought so. I literally got this chapter done in two days, and I know it's not massively long but considering how long it takes me to normally get a chapter out I don't think it's that bad.

Hope you enjoy it my friends and sorry if there are any mistakes.

Chapter 35

It had been a number of weeks since Ren's Quidditch incident, and her face was finally beginning to look like her own again. The bruising had been a lot worse than she originally anticipated it being. Ren had naively thought that after a week or two the bruising would go down and then everything would go back to normal.

How wrong she had been.

Even with the aid of magic the healing process had been rather painful. She had been taking regular pain numbing potions supplied by Madam Pomfrey, but it still hadn't been easy. Amongst other things, Ren had noticed that she had lost weight. Although she didn't let the pain stop her from chatting with her friends (her social personality wouldn't have had any of that), but chewing food had proved to be a lot more difficult and painful than Ren had realised it would be. Because of this she had only really been eating soup, and as her jaw healed she had worked her way up to small bowls of pasta and other soft foods. It was because of this Ren had noticed her hip bones were protruding slightly more than usual, much to her dismay.

As well as eating, her bruised jaw had also caused a number of other problems. Namely the fact that it made being able to kiss Sirius without wincing in pain down near impossible. Now more than ever all Ren wanted to do was have a kiss and a cuddle with her boyfriend while feeling sorry for herself, but so much as a gentle stroke of her face was now enough to make Ren hiss. However despite all of this she was trying her best not to complain… much.

It was Saturday, and later that day the group would be heading into Hogsmeade for the final time before the Easter holidays that commenced in two weeks' time. Most of them had already made their way down to the Great Hall for breakfast, however there were some stragglers.

Ren and Sirius were still curled up in bed, enjoying the peace and quiet of the otherwise empty boys' dormitory. Ren now slept in there most nights, something which at first Lily had frowned upon, that was until she had started doing the same thing, but only at weekends.

Despite the fact that it had just gone nine o'clock and the others wanted to leave at ten, the pair were showing no signs of getting up any time soon. They lay in the spooning position, Sirius' arms wrapped securely around Ren as she dozed. Just as she almost drifted back to sleep, she suddenly felt Sirius' lips brush her neck… and again, and again, each time moving lower as his hand ran down her thigh.

"No," Ren slurred into the pillow. She felt Sirius prop himself up behind her.

"What makes you think that was even what I wanted? For all you know I could have just been after a cuddle!" He protested, his voice appearing innocent, but Ren knew better. She couldn't help but smile to herself as she rolled over. She looked up at him and chuckled at the bemused look on his handsome face.

"Because it's you." She answered simply.

"And just what are you insinuating Miss Gallagher?" Sirius questioned, a smirk sliding easily onto his face as he reached a hand out a carefully brushed a few curls out of Ren's eyes.

"Hmmm," She pondered out loud. "That you're an insatiable sex pest?" She teased, and Sirius let out a bark of laughter.

"Turns out you know me a lot better than I thought." He said, before slowly leaning down and gently pressing his lips to hers. Ren let out a content sigh as she moved her lips against Sirius', ignoring the dull throb of pain in her jaw.

Since the Quidditch accident Sirius had taken it upon himself to tend to Ren's every need, whether she wanted him to or not. He would offer to carry her bag, open doors for her, give her massages, and always ask if she was okay and comfortable. Strangely Ren had found that it wasn't as annoying as she thought being waited on hand and foot would be. Even though she had told him not to worry so much as it was only her jaw that had been damaged, he hadn't listened. But in a way Ren was actually quite glad that he hadn't. It was nice to know he cared.

Ren ran her hands up Sirius' muscular back as he resumed kissing her neck once again.

"Seriously though, we really should start getting ready to go." Ren murmured, trying her best not to get side tracked. Yet Sirius ignored her as he worked his way down to her breasts, which were only covered by a thin, nearly see-through, t-shirt. "Woah there cowboy," Ren tugged him back up so they were face to face again before he got too carried away.

She had to submerge the giggle in her throat when she saw the pout Sirius was wearing. "Later," Ren said, running her hand through his hair.

"Not even a quickie?" He asked, looking hopeful. Ren very nearly caved.

"I'm afraid not." She answered, and Sirius let out was quite possibly the most dramatic sigh Ren had ever heard before collapsing on top of her, burying his face against her cheek. Ren chuckled. "Come on Snuffles, I need to pee." She tried to coaxing him to move, shaking him a little, but Sirius wasn't having it.

"No, I'm happy here." He huffed, wrapping his arms and legs around her like an overgrown koala bear. Ren rolled her eyes. 'Merlin give me strength.' She thought to herself as she began attempting to extract herself from his grip, but to no avail.

"Come on Sirius, move." She grunted slightly as she struggled. "I swear to God I'll-"

"-You'll what exactly? You're completely at my mercy here Brown-Eyes. You'll never escape and will be trapped forever!" The boy let out an evil chuckle as he tightened his grip.

Ren ceased her struggling for a moment as she thought of a way to escape. It looked like she was going to have to play dirty. Slowly she experimentally brushed her hands against Sirius' bare waist, and to her delight she felt him immediately stiffen. "Don't. You. Dare-" Sirius bit out, but it was too late. Ren began a relentless tickle attack, and the boy let out an unnaturally high pitched squeal as he began to thrash about in an attempt to escape from Ren's hold.

"What's the matter Sirius?" Ren teased as she tickled.

"Ren, stop! I swear to Merlin- REN!" Sirius cried between fits of panicked laughter, and Ren burst out laughing herself when he practically threw himself out of the bed and landed face first on the floor, however Ren was on top of him again in moments. She straddled his back and went for his ribs. The sheer force in which Sirius was bucking and thrashing beneath her nearly unseated Ren, but she was determined to get revenge.

"Aw do you not like being tickled?" She taunted.

"Ren, please-" Sirius was breathless. "-Please stop!" He giggled. "I'll do anything!"

"Oh no," Ren chuckled. "I'm enjoying this too much!" She added as Sirius began dragging himself along the floor.

"Wha- what is wrong with you?! You're a fucking sadist!" He exclaimed, and at that Ren lost it. She burst into full fits of laughter which Sirius took advantage of. He darted out from beneath her as quick as lightning, sending Ren tumbling onto the floor with a small bump, and shot across the dormitory, stumbling slightly as he did so.

Ren was still howling with laughter as she lay on the floor. The image of Sirius, wearing only his black boxers, hiding behind one of the tall bedposts, peering out at her, was one that would surely reduce her to tears of laughter for many years to come, she was sure of it.

When the two of them did eventually manage to make it down to the Great Hall and joined the others for breakfast Sirius was still giving Ren a wide berth, much to Ren's amusement and everyone else's confusion. When they took their seats at the Gryffindor table Sirius slid down the long bench until he was out of arms reach of Ren.

"What's the matter Sirius? Don't you want to sit next to me?" She asked, feigning innocence and reaching out for him. He simply narrowed his eyes and shuffled even further away.

"You keep your hands to yourself Devil woman!" He said, causing Ren to giggle happily as she buttered her toast.

"Wow, never thought I'd hear Sirius say that to Ren." Remus mused from opposite the couple, causing Cassie who sat at his side, to laugh. Sirius shot the Werewolf a look.

"Hey did you guys know that Sirius was ticklish?" Ren asked the other boys casually, a pleasant smile on her face. Remus, James and Peter all paused and looked up at her.

Oh you didn't?" James, who sat on Remus' other side, questioned, looking like Christmas had come early.

"Oh she did." Sirius muttered before taking a gulp from his tea. Ren beamed proudly at the other boys. Peter was staring at her in admiration, Remus had a grin on his face that rivalled her own and James looked like he was going to cry from happiness. He had brought a hand up to cover the smile on his lips, making him look very emotional.

"Ren Gallagher you absolutely brilliant human being." His voice was full of pride as he stood and leant across the table. "Bring it in girl." He said, holding his arms out, and Ren rose and hugged him over the table, laughing as she did so.

"Yeah okay, let's all bond over Sirius' misery. It's cool don't worry." Sirius huffed bitterly as Ren and James sat back down. She turned to him.

"Why are you still sulking? Like you wouldn't have done the same to me." She pointed out.

"But I don't like being tickled!"

"No one does, that's the point of tickling." Ren insisted, and after a moment or two Sirius let out a defeated sigh.

"Fine… but I will have my revenge one day!" Sirius said, and Ren noticed that the familiar mischievous twinkle had returned to his eyes.

"I look forward to it." She grinned just as the post owls began to arrive, and to her surprise an envelope was dropped down in front of her.

She was always surprised when she got mail. The only people she wrote to were Dylan and her parents, and seeing as she had only sent her latest letter to Dylan the previous evening by process of elimination this had to be from her parents. Sure enough when she turned the envelope over she recognised her Fathers handwriting on the front.

She placed her toast back down on her plate, wiped her buttery fingers on her jeans and opened the envelope. Pulling the parchment out, she began to read;

"Hey Kids, just a reminder that we've got the family reunion coming up in the Easter Holidays, so make sure you keep that first week free.

Now Ren I know you try to push it to the back of your mind every year so Ollie, Ness, make sure you keep nagging your sister. I don't want your usual 'You haven't given us any notice' excuse Ren. You're coming. Also Ren you Mother told me to make sure you invite Sirius along. Yes we know. Did you really think we didn't notice that the two of you had vanished at Midnight on New Year? Nice try though.

Anyway, hope you're all well and we'll see you in two weeks. Lots of love Mum and Dad."

"Oh fucking hell," Ren sighed as she finished reading. She should have known that her parents, mainly her Mum, would have clicked onto her and Sirius' disappearance on New Year. There was no fooling them.

"What's up Renaldo?" James asked as he finished his cereal. Ren, not even batting an eyelid at the new nickname James had been enforcing over the past few weeks, help up the letter for them all to see.

"Family reunion is in the Easter holidays." She explained. Sirius, who had slid back up the bench next to her, scanned the letter over her shoulder.

"Sweet, I'm invited! I'm so there!" He exclaimed happily. Ren rolled her eyes.

"At least someone's excited." She said as she watched Sirius fondly.

"Oh come on Ren, you'll have fun." Lily cajoled from Ren's other side. The brunette nodded.

"I know. The build-up is always a bit of a stress though. I'll be fine once I'm there." She agreed.

"That's the spirit!" Sirius encouraged, wrapping his arm around Ren's shoulder and giving her a reassuring squeeze. "We'll have a blast. I'll make sure it's the best family reunion ever!"

Ren couldn't help but smile at Sirius' enthusiasm. Maybe it was due to the fact that he had never been particularly close to his own family and had never experienced anything like this before, but he seemed genuinely excited. Ren felt bad that she had been so pessimistic. She was lucky to have a family that loved one another and made the time to get all together, even if it was just for one week a year. She took hold of Sirius' hand and placed a kiss on the back of it.

"You're right." She smiled back at him and her heart melted slightly when she saw his handsome face light up. "It'll be great." She added.

"Right before this gets too soppy I suggest we all make a move." James suddenly interrupted, which prompted the group to ready themselves to leave.

Ren continued to watch Sirius as she pulled on her denim jacket. The look of excitement had yet to leave his face as he stood with the rest of the group. She would have loved to known what he was thinking. It made her happy that he was actually excited to meet her family, however much of a handful they could be. He had handled the likes of Aunty Brenda amazingly well so something told Ren that he would be able to handle whatever the Gallaghers threw at him.

As the group of friends made their way out of the Great Hall Ren took hold of Sirius' hand and gave it a squeeze. He looked at her and the two of them shared a smile, neither really feeling the need to say anything. Despite not making it too obvious, Ren felt sure that the rest of the school, or the people who cared anyway, would have realised that they were together by now. They may not have been big on Public Displays of Affection, but the way they would steal glances at one another should have been enough. That's why when Ren leant over and planted a gentle kiss on Sirius' lips (fuck the pain!) she felt confident that no one would question it.

How wrong she had been.

When they had made it into the Entrance Hall a shrill cry of "Sirius!" sounded from behind them, causing everyone in the Hall to jolt in surprise. Ren grimaced. She'd be willing to bet her life on who that voice belonged to. Sure enough, when she turned around there stood none other than Chelsea Fucking Bradshaw.

Merlin give her strength. Ren glanced up at Sirius, who looked like he wanted to hex Chelsea into next week. Not that Ren could blame him. Everyone else simply looked bewildered.

"Care to explain what that was back there?!" Chelsea questioned through gritted teeth. Sirius glanced at Ren and she shrugged.

"You… you mean when I kissed my girlfriend?" He asked, not bothering to hide his confusion. Or boredom for that matter. Ren felt her chest swell with pride. There. It had been said. Their relationship had been made official in front of people outside of their group of friends. Chelsea's eyes bulged.

"What?!" Merlin she sounded like she going to explode.

"Oh come on," Ren couldn't help but say. "You couldn't really have deluded yourself into not noticing could you?" She couldn't help herself. How could this girl be so oblivious?

"Shut up!" The blonde hissed. "Don't you dare even speak to me, you plain, scruffy little tramp!" Ren's eyebrows rose. "You ruined-"

"- Hey! Don't speak to her like that!" Sirius interrupted darkly when Chelsea began to step towards Ren.

"Sirius," Ren placed her hand on his chest to calm him down. She looked at the beautiful blonde and couldn't help but feel bad. This girl must have had some intense feelings for Sirius if she was willing to overlook every time he shot her down. Whether Ren liked the girl or not it was still a shitty feeling when you found out your crush liked somebody else. "Look Chelsea,"

She began to walk towards the Ravenclaw slowly, hands raised to indicate peace. "I know our relationship hasn't ever been anything to write home about, but I want you to know that I'm not with Sirius just to spite you, if that's what you're thinking. I'm with him because I genuinely like him. Something which I'm sure you can understand."

As Ren spoke Chelsea had folded her arms over her chest, a sneer on her face. "I just wanted to make that clear. I'm not apologizing because I haven't done anything wrong-" Chelsea scoffed and went to interrupt. "-No Chelsea, I haven't! If you can think of one genuine thing I've done that warrants an apology then I will hold up my hands and apologize. But we're talking serious here. Not just being the girlfriend of the guy you fancy." There was a pause.

"You called me a jumped up, Daddy's girl." Chelsea argued.

"After you called me worthless and said that I looked like I belonged in Azkaban. I hardly think I'm the only one who needs to apologize in regards to that conversation." Ren retaliated, to which Chelsea remained silent. She chose into to continue to glare at Ren, who sighed.

"Look, I just wanted to make that clear. I'm done talking to you now Chelsea. You can't say I haven't tried to clear the air… despite the fact that you have no real reason to be pissed off at me." She couldn't help but add. "I advise that you try and sort your shit out with Sirius and then leave us the fuck alone." She finished bluntly. Ren was bored of this now. She turned to walk back to her friends, who stood a few feet away.

"Don't walk away from-" Chelsea began indignantly, but before Ren could turn back around, Sirius interrupted.

"No Chelsea, let her go! She's right, she has nothing to do with this!" Ren stopped. She turned around and saw how angry Sirius looked. She heard Remus and the others join her slowly. She spared the Werewolf a quick glance. He sent her a reassuring smile before turning his attention back to Sirius and Chelsea. They were all as eager as herself to see where this was going.

"Look Chelsea I lead you on at first, and I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry." Sirius was looking the blonde dead in the eye as he spoke, his face still angry, body still tense. "But since October I haven't so much as winked at you, and that's because of that girl there." Sirius pointed back at Ren, still not looking away from Chelsea. "I've changed as a person since meeting her, for the better, and I'm so grateful to her for it. Because of her I've realised that the way I treated girls, the way I treated you, was unfair. If she hadn't come along I just would have ended up sleeping with another Merlin knows how many girls, and not given a shit about how much I hurt them. That's the truth of it."

Ren stared at the boy before her in shock. He had never told her any of this before. She was aware that Sirius had changed from the womanizer he had been when they had first met but she hadn't realised that he saw it like that.

"I'm sorry if you've gotten hurt in the process Chelsea, I really am," Sirius continued. "And I know I should have tried harder to get this across to you. But I didn't and here we are. I hope you can understand." When he had finished speaking he turned around and looked at Ren. She just watched him with a smile on her face. The group made their way over to Sirius stood at his side.

Chelsea, who to give her credit hadn't interrupted Sirius during his little speech, was watching the group, namely Ren, in contemplation. Ren didn't like it.

"I'm sorry…" the Ravenclaw began, and Ren looked up in surprise. "… But I don't understand it." There was a collective sigh of defeat from the group. Ren met Chelsea's eyes and grimaced at the dangerous glint in them. "And I don't understand you." She added quietly. "I don't understand the appeal in some scrawny, ratty-haired bitch!" Her voice was like venom, and although Ren saw the way that Chelsea's hand reared back, she wasn't quick enough to dodge out of the way as the girls palm connected with Ren's cheek with a sharp slap.

The group, and everyone else in the Hall who had stopped to watch the confrontation, burst out into angry cries, but Ren didn't hear any of them. She saw red, and before Chelsea's hand had even retracted fully, Ren's fist connected with her nose with such a force that the blonde went tumbling down to the ground, causing the Hall to immediately fall silent… well, besides Chelsea.

"You know what Chelsea, fuck you." Ren said simply, looking down at the girl on the floor who was clutching her nose and peering up at her in both fear and confusion. Ren ignored the sting in her cheek on top of the ache in her jaw and turned to her friends. "Come on, let's go to The Three Broomsticks. I need a bloody drink."

Well finally that shit storm with Chelsea was sorted out. I was gonna give her a redeeming moment and have her accept Sirius and Ren but then I was like "naa fuck that"

I'm hoping this new found motivation will last seeing as we don't have much of the story left, but you know what would really motivate me? Some lovely reviews!
