A/N: Heyyy.

"Beck," Jade rasps, tears forming in her misty blue eyes. "I need to see Beck."

"Jade, sweetheart," her father begins, sighing and resting his head on his hands, "You've just woken up, and you're confused. How about you just rest for a while?"

"Dad, I swear to god, if you don't get Beck right now, I will get up and go find him myself," Jade says angrily, pulling at the IV in her hand. It didn't come out, but it made her Dad flinch all the same. He nodded, defeated.

"I'll go down to the cafeteria to get him, okay? For now, leave that IV alone." Jade shrugs and pulls her blanket closer to her face. "I was so scared, Jade...I was so afraid that..."

"That I'd end up like Mama?" Jade filled in, slowly looking up at her dad. She had forgotten that he'd never told her that, that he'd just let her fill in the blanks on her own. Jade gave a humorless laugh and bit her lip. "Yeah. I know."

"Jade, I'm sorry. How did you find out? I should have told you from the beginning." Jade wondered briefly if she was playing god, in a way, changing the future.

"Does that matter?" Jade asks, her eyes filling with tears once again. One droplet spills from her left eye and she lets it roll down her paler than ever cheek. "I don't care that you didn't tell me. I care that you're not happy and it's my fault because I left-"

"No." Jade's father says firmly, his tone shocking her. "It is not your fault. Your mother would be turning in her grave if she knew you thought it was your fault. None of this is anyone's fault, sweetheart." He stands, and smooths Jade's hair back. "I'll go get Beck. Relax for now, okay? Your blood pressure is already a little too high. Nothing to worry about, though. You're gonna be just fine, baby."

Jade's eyes felt heavy and she sighed sadly. Was that some crazy dream? The emotions felt too raw, too real, for that to have been a dream. Jade was sure of it. Did Beck see it, too? Did he live it?

Or did he dream it, at least? When he was asleep at night, in that cold lonely bed, without her to hold? Or did he stay awake, unable to rest soundly while she wasn't there?

Neither of those thoughts comforted her.

What happened, anyway? At the end? Did she live? Die? Had she just foreseen her own death?

All of that ran through her mind as Jade tried to recollect that last night of her teenage life, before her accident. Beck saw the fortune teller. They'd be sorry. That's what she said.

Jade recoiled from her own thoughts for a moment. "She did that...It was her."

At that moment, Beck burst through the door, his hand over his mouth, looking so overcome with emotion that hot tears spilled down Jade's cheek, too. She reached her good arm out and Beck rushed over to her, squeezing her tightly. Jade quickly wiped her face with the back of her hand and faced her father.

"Dad, you've been here for ages. Take a break. Beck is here now. I'll be okay,"

"Fine, baby. I'll be back in around forty minutes, okay? I love you."

"I know." With that, Jade turned her attention to Beck. "Did...did it happen to you, too?" Jade whispers, eyes wide and imploring. Beck's own eyes widen.

"You had the dreams, too."

"It wasn't a dream. I looked after our children. I talked to a Cat that wasn't my Cat."

"You were in a coma," Beck says. "I had sedatives pumped into me, because I couldn't sleep."

"We mess up a lot." Jade states flatly. Beck kisses the top of Jade's hand, where her fingers stick out of the cast.

"Yeah."

"What about Cat?" Jade asks. "Have you spoken to her?"

"She didn't have the dream."

"Good," Jade says quietly. She's feeling awful and confused, and she doesn't know where to go from now. "What now? I can't act like a teenager. I miss my babies. You know that? I'm 17 years old, and I miss my babies! My arms are hurting because I miss them so much, I just want to hold them."

"So do I." Beck nods, sighing. "I miss my little girl and I miss my little man. But they're waiting for us."

"I can't live knowing the future. It will kill me."

"We need to see the fortune teller." Beck says suddenly.

"Absolutely not," Jade seethes, glaring at Beck. "She's done enough damage! Look at me! I'm lucky to be alive."

"That was my fault. You were upset. You were about to call me."

"And then I crashed." Jade deadpanned. "So there. It's my fault. I shouldn't have driven in that state, I shouldn't have been looking at my phone. But it's over now."

"And we need our lives back."

Jade bites her thumbnail, considering. "Fine," she says, "I'll see the fortune teller. But I'm telling you, Beck...if this doesn't work then...I don't know what I'll do."

And it was in that moment that Beck knew he would do anything for Jade, and that he would do anything to get the love they shared back, pure and holy, untarnished. He ruined it.

Now he had to fix it.
