Chapter Thirty-Seven: Goyle's Grizzly Gym

"Have you found anything?" Draco asked his lawyer.

"Not much," May said. "But I spoke to Harry Potter and his friends. Harry's convinced you're innocent."

"What about Granger and Weasley?"

"Not so much." May had a cheeky cup of black coffee in her hand. She wasn't prepared for another heart attack, but she felt that too many times, she was on the verge of one. "Draco, the trial is tomorrow. I need to ask you one more question before I meet you in court tomorrow."

"What's that?"

"Did you know about the wizarding convention?"

"I did."

"Were you invited?"

"No."

"Then if you weren't invited then what brings you here with your son?"

"We wanted to get away," Draco said with half spilt tears. "We've been through a lot. He's all I've got left. We haven't been on holiday in years. Astoria was too ill to go and Scorpius was at school. That's why I decided if we went on holiday, it would be the best holiday we've ever had."

"Why Alola?"

"I was meeting a friend," Draco replied. "Scorpius and I never owned any pokémon, but he loves them. Thought it would be ideal for him.

"Okay." It felt like the first time that Draco had ever mentioned having friends. Who is this friend?"

"Gregory Goyle," Draco replied. "He owns GGG."

"GGG?"

"It's a sports centre for muggles," Draco responded. "After the war, he left the wizarding world far behind. He developed a new love for sports and bodybuilding. I haven't seen him in years, thought it would be nice to get in contact with him. I've seen a picture of him in the newspaper, I barely even recognise him: he's changed so much!"

This was groundbreaking for May. Draco and his son staying near Lush Jungle, so the sports centre had to be somewhere near by. She thought that the centre could be in either two places: Heahea City or Paniola Town.

"Where is his sports centre?" May asked him.

"It's in Heahea City. 25 Snake Street."

May stood up. "I'm going to talk to him. I'll let him know you're here. Maybe he can see you."

"Tell him...I said hi."

May knew that there was something that Draco wasn't telling her. She knew that she would have to do a lot more work to get Draco to have his full trust in her. Only then, will he ever be able to reveal stuff he wouldn't have told before? Thankfully, May hoped to get some new leads as she made her way to Heahea City. Along the way, she bumped intro Trucy, and they began talking about beaches before May began to focus on the case again.

"Do you think the last case is related to the one we've had before?" May asked Trucy as she laid back against the floral chair with her eyes in the direction of the view of the surfing waves. "You know with all the time meddling."

Trucy shrugged her shoulders. "Could be possible. The victim and defendants used magic. And time meddling is dangerous magic as well. It's complicated. That's why I won't do it."

"Then maybe Queen Elodie's involved."

"You really don't like her do you?"

May shook her head. "I don't get how in one time-frame, she's this big dictator and the next day she's lovely as pie. Rafya and Elodie hated each other and then she altered time so that the big war never happened. I'm sure it's her. She's the most powerful witch we know right now!"

"That was one timeline," Trucy said. "But we're in a different timeline now. Strangely most of the stuff remains the same apart from Mewtwo's case."

Two men strolled down the in front of them. May lifted herself from her chair. "Wait, is that your dad and Apollo?"

"Yeah, ah that's them."

"How is he here?" May asked. "I thought he was working on cases back home."

"My daddy can do some pretty amazing things," Trucy said. "Even be in more than two places at once if he needs to be." She raised her voice, trying to grab their attention. "Hey! Over here!"

"How can anyone be in two places at once?" May muttered as Phoenix and Apollo, took seats from the other table and joined in with them. "Good morning, Mr. Wright. Good morning, Apollo."

"Morning!"

"He could have an imposter," Trucy said. "He's had an imposter before you know. It was a really bad one, but people fell for it. You'd be amazed at how stupid some people can be."

Phoenix sighed. "You're not still talking about that case are you..."

"What case is that?" Apollo asked.

"The State VS. Maggey Bryde 2018."

Phoenix nodded. "So I heard from Apollo that you've got a tricky case. I thought I'd come and help you."

"Wait!" May looked at Apollo. "Who told you?"

"You did."

"Are you sure?" May asked. "I really don't remember talking to you last night. I thought you were in Khura'in."

"I am. I mean I was," Apollo said.

"So it's just Dawn on her own," May said. She remembered that Dawn was working for Apollo. But now she wasn't sure if she would even still be there now.

"She's still there. She's doing a really good job."

"I'm not even sure if it is Elodie changing time," Trucy admitted.

"What are you talking about Trucy?" Phoenix asked.

"Maybe somebody has a time-turner."

"That's it!" May said. "Queen Elodie has a time-turner, that's how she's doing all of this."

"We need to talk to Trucy," Apollo said to May, then looked at his younger sister. "There's something that I need to talk to you about. It's private. It's about you-know-what."

Phoenix turned over to May. "Are you sure it's Queen Elodie that's doing all this time meddling?"

May nodded. "She's the only one capable."

"Maybe you should talk to the client again," Phoenix suggested. "You'll see that there's a lot more to this than meets the eye."

"You think Queen Elodie is innocent?"

"I know she's innocent."

Phoenix Wright was always right. He may be known for the occasional bluff, but there was a sudden sense of passion in his voice with the way he roared. It alarmed May enough to stand her up. May nodded and left the restaurant. She remembered Draco telling her about his friend who owned a sports centre. May marched a few blocks down the road and she found what she wanted. May walked into a black building with three metallic Gs stamped above the automatic doors. Dub-step music bellowed into her eardrums as she took her first step into the sports centre.

The receptionist smiled. "Hello and welcome to Goyle's Grizzly Gym!"

"Hi there," she said with a professional smile. "I've come to speak to the owner, Mr. Goyle. It's about his friend, Mr. Malfoy."

The receptionist nodded. "Of course, I'll see if he's available...Hello, Mr. Goyle. There's a lady here to see you regarding Mr. Malfoy...Yes! I will send her in." She dropped the phone. "His office is on the top floor and the first to your left."

The silver doors besides the desk opened to reveal an emerald elevator. May jumped in the elevator and pushed the bottom to the top floor. Goyle's office wasn't hard to find. "A tall beefy man walked out of Goyle's office. May had a feeling this was the man she wanted to talk to. "Are you Draco's lawyer?" Goyle asked.
May nodded.

"Come on in," he said. "His son told me about you. I was wondering when you would come. I know three people that could have done it."

"Who are these three people?"

"The Golden Trio!"

"The Golden Trio?"

Goyle nodded. "Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Ron and Hermione are married, but she never uses the Weasley name."

"Really? What makes you think it's one of them three?"

"You ever heard of a time-turner?"

"Yeah," May said.

"Hermione had one. Harry could have borrowed it from her. Harry used to bang Cho at school. He was really popular at school, but us lot didn't like him that much. Especially Draco, those two couldn't stand each other."

"Why didn't they get on?" May felt that she was on the right path. Maybe this is what Phoenix meant when she said Elodie was innocent.

"Different beliefs," Goyle said with his hands together. "Draco was part of a pure-blood family. Harry was half-blood and was friends with mud-bloods." Goyle gulped and stopped for a few seconds before talking again. "Sorry, I shouldn't really use that word."

"So it was believed that wizards with pure-blood status are better than muggle-borns."

Goyle nodded. "Stupid, but that's how we were brought up. It caused a war. I lost a man I looked up to and a dear friend. After the war, I decided that magic wasn't for me and I started living within the muggle world. I'm happier now."

May noticed a photograph on his desk. Four children in their school uniform. Three boys in the centre and a girl with her arms folded beside them. May recognised Draco straight away from his bleach blonde hair. From the two larger boys, she couldn't tell which one was Goyle and which one was the friend who died. She asked, "Who's the girl in the picture and which one is you?"

"Who's the girl in the picture and which one are you?"

Goyle pulled the picture towards him. "That's me on the left." Goyle pointed on his younger self. "That's my mate, Vincent Crabbe who died. That's Pansy Parkinson, Draco's ex. I haven't heard from her since we left school."

"If you don't mind me saying, how did he die?" She wondered if there was a link between Crabbe's death and Cho's death.

"He set the room on fire trying to kill the trio, he couldn't control it and he succumbed to the flames."

"Sounds like you got into some rough business."

"My father went to prison for his crimes. I hated Harry for it: same with Draco - we both wanted our revenge. We wanted to kill all three of them, but then they saved our lives."

"Do you still think they hold these school grudges?"

"Yes."

"What do you think happened that night Cho Oak died?"

"I bet Harry tried to get it on with Cho, but she wouldn't have it. So he killed her!"

May didn't think the theory made sense. "Do you know that Cho was found in a girl's bathroom?"

"Don't mean nothing. He killed her and dumped her in the bathroom to make it look like a murderer was a woman!"

"But if Harry Potter is the killer, why would he frame Draco?"

"He hated him. I thought he was a threat. Harry's famous in the wizarding world. Even muggles know his name. He wants to protect his perfect image. He's scared: scared that Draco will spoil it."

"Okay, thanks for that, Goyle," May said. "I'm going to see Draco. Want to come?"

He shook his head. "I can't right now. I'll go and see him when I've finished work."

"Okay, see you again, Mr. Goyle."

If May could get the evidence that Harry Potter was responsible for Cho Oak's death, then it is likely, that she could give Draco an acquittal. However, with little evidence, she wanted to try and convince the court that more time for investigations was necessary before a verdict could be reached.
