Chapter 37: Enough is Enough
Inuyasha and Sesshomaru head towards their homeroom classes, fully aware of what might've happened. The only lead they have so far is with Kikyo but it's best to hold their thoughts until after school. Inuyasha knew that this has gone from bad to worse. Not only that, he has to make sure Kagome doesn't know anything about it. The same has to go to Sango and Miroku. Miroku and Sango have a few classes with Inuyasha, but it'd be too risky to give the details about Kyoko to them. Knowing them, they'd spill by accident.
And for Koga and Ayame. Doubt it. There's no way whatsoever that's ever gonna happen. No way Inuyasha would trust someone who blabs about gossip. Ayame is somehow a newbie and he hardly knows her that well. Inuyasha knew that this is the upcoming endgame. For the evidence he and Sesshomaru managed to get so far is good. But Kikyo's part is all that is needed. And he's too excited to finally put an end to Kyoko's horror on Kagome. But he doesn't know is that whatever Kikyo is going to show will be completely unexpected.
As the final bell rings, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru head outside to see whether or not they can encounter Kikyo. After a few more students leave, Kikyo comes at last. "Kikyo…" Sesshomaru whispers to her. Kikyo turns her way. Sesshomaru gestures his fingers to make her follow them somewhere secluded. Kikyo follows to the alleyway a few blocks away from the school.
"You guys, I found some shocking discoveries." Kikyo speaks to them. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru looked at her attentively. "What was it?" Inuyasha asks her. "It turns out the Kyoko is a victim of her own parents." Kikyo said in a straight-forward face. "A victim of her own parents? What are you talking about?" Sesshomaru asks in mild disbelief. Kikyo pulls out a video camera that she used earlier in the apartment and gives it to them. "The footage is the key proof." She tells them. "I'm not going to tell Kagome about this. If she were to know anything about it, it'd be too much for her." She frowns in the end.
Inuyasha and Sesshomaru had no idea that Kikyo would be bold enough to express more about the scene. "I'll make sure the girl is out of her own parents' clutches." Sesshomaru said as he puts the camera into his bookbag. Kikyo nods and leaves the two brothers alone.
And for that, Kikyo heads straight back home since she has already fulfilled her secret objective to help Inuyasha and Sesshomaru's father for the upcoming court. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru head to their house and can never expected to smell something off from their area. "I somehow smell something out of the ordinary." Inuyasha gives a few seconds to collect a few more sniffs until it's confirmed. "It's Kyoko." He narrows his eyes as he runs on ahead with Sesshomaru close behind.
When they turn to their driveway, it was in fact indeed Kyoko, literally waiting for them. "What are you doing here?" Inuyasha rudely asks her instead of the polite way to welcome someone. Kyoko looks at the two of them. "I'm here for the footage." Kyoko gestures her hand in the 'give it to me' way. Inuyasha crossed, "I'm afraid I'm not giving it to you." He declines her. Sesshomaru silently agrees with him. "I know it was you who has been spying on me." Kyoko accused them. "We do not do such foolish tactics." Sesshomaru coldly replies back to her.
"Kyoko, I assure it's not them who has been spying on you." A new voice comes into the area. Kyoko widens her eyes to see Inutaishou arriving home from work. "I'm here to take your parents to court actually." He tells her straight out as he comes into the group.
"What are you talking about? My parents have nothing to do with this." Kyoko shouts to him, unfortunately doesn't fazes them at the least. "Apparently, they do. A lot as I speak. I've been tasked to take you to court as well. So if you cooperate, I'll take you there." Inutaishou suggests as he hands over the documents to her. Kyoko reads over the pages and widens her eyes, unable what to say about it. She looks up to the trio and nods. "Inuyasha, I need you to stay in case of something comes up." His father tells him.
Inuyasha nods and goes in without another word. "Sesshomaru…" Inutaishou whispers something into his older son's ear. Sesshomaru nods. "Ok." He speaks to his father and gives Inuyasha his bookbag which has the camera in it, and goes somewhere. "Where is he going?" Kyoko asks the man. "For that is between me and my son." Inutaishou said back and takes her to the destination.
Sesshomaru heads to secret place his father told him earlier. Sesshomaru can clearly see it's an okay area. All except the apartment that looks so worn out. "That must be the place." He said as he walks over there. Upon entering the building's front doors a big sign gets his attention. "Implosion." He said out loud. "Yes this place is going to be demolished pretty soon." A male bystander said to him. "What do you mean by that?" Sesshomaru asks him. "I'm one of two people who lives here. Well more like who lived here. Because of the structure of the building, it's been decided by the mayor to demolish it." He explains to him.
Sesshomaru sighs with disappointment. "I came here to get a few things that my father wanted me to bring." He said to him honestly. "Oh, don't worry about that. The other resident who lived here had her belongings be taken to a storage facility outside of town. That way no one with have anything so dear to them demolished." He assures him as he gives a business card of the place. "If I were you, I'd leave while I had the chance." He tells as he leaves the building. Taking his word for it, Sesshomaru does the same and leaves the soon-to-be destroyed building.
Meanwhile Inuyasha goes into his dad's office to add the footage that Kikyo gave to him and his brother earlier this afternoon. Even though Kyoko was determined to get it back, Inutaishou just comes home and takes her somewhere else. Knowing him, he might've gotten a hold of her parents as well. And possibly the principal. As soon as this stuff is cleared out of the way, Kagome wouldn't have to worry about such stuff.
"Let's just hope my dad knows what he's doing. I don't want him to ruin this chance to clear this."
A few minutes later, Sesshomaru comes home and gets into the office. "Did you add the footage to dad's computer?" He asks him. Inuyasha and shows it to him. "Dad should watch this. Did you…" Inuyasha shakes him head. "not yet." With not time passed, their father comes in. "Boys, you got the final piece?" He asks them both. "See for yourself." Inuyasha clicks play on the screen and watch what footage unfolds for them.
