Here's the next chapter for all my readers. I hope you enjoy this as much as I have enjoyed writing it. I am dedicating this chapter to the wonderful Chandler Massey since he won his 3rd Daytime Emmy on June 22, 2014.

Soul Mates

Chapter 35

Sonny couldn't believe what he had heard his mom ask. He shouldn't be surprised by what came out of her mouth since she had never wanted him and Will to be together in the first place.

Instead of answering her question, Sonny grabbed Will's hand and stood up, pulling his husband up to stand beside him. Sonny hugged his dad, his uncle Victor and Aunt Maggie. Then they headed for the door.

"Where are you going Sonny?" Adrienne asked him like he owed her an answer. They continued towards the door. "Jackson Steven Kiriakis!" That got his attention.

"No mom, it's Jackson Steven Horton-Kiriakis. I am married to this wonderful man right here by my side and we are having a family together. If you don't like it, then you don't have to be a part of my life or my children's lives." Sonny was putting his coat on while Will did the same.

"Don't be like this Sonny." Adrienne said, trying to calm him down but there wasn't anything she could say that would calm him down or make him happy.

"Like what mom. Don't protect my family when someone threatens them like Nick did. Like you are trying to do now by not accepting them as your family. You claim you can't love Marley because she's not my child and you have already shown that unless we prove whether I'm Sophie and Jackson's real dad then you'll have nothing to do with them. Mom, I love Marley just as much as you love Alexander, Victor and Joey. They're not yours but you love them anyway. So when they have kids are you going to shut them out because they don't share the same DNA with you?"

"You don't understand Sonny?" Adrienne had the guts to actually accuse him of not understanding.

"I understand plenty. You can't accept my children because of who their dad is. You don't want me with Will and that is your choice but I'm married to him and we are having kids together so if you are going to act this way towards my husband and kids then there's nothing I can do to please you. I wish you could be happy for me and until you can be, I don't want anything to do with you. I'll come see dad, Uncle Vic and Aunt Maggie but as far as I'm concerned, you don't exist until you can prove to me that you are going to respect my family." Sonny walked over to hug his dad goodbye again. "I'm sorry dad."

"Don't worry about it son. You have to do what you have to do to protect your family. I have done some things to protect your mother and all of you boys. Will and your children should come first no matter what you do and who you come up against, including your mother. Love you Sonny. Give my love to my granddaughter." And with that, Sonny and Will left the Kiriakis mansion.

They didn't talk on the ride over to Grandma Marlena's to tell her the good news. But as soon as they pulled up in the parking garage, Sonny turned to face Will.

"I love you so much. I just want you to know that nobody will ever hurt you or our kids, including my mom."

"Are you sure that you want to cut her out of your life? I don't want to be the reason behind this ongoing feud between you and her." Will leaned over so he could rest his head on Sonny's shoulder. "I don't want to be responsible for your relationship with your mom coming to an end."

"Baby, you aren't responsible for mine and my mom's relationship being the way it is. She's the one who can't let go of the way she feels about you and your family. Now why don't we go tell someone about our news that will be happy for us." They climbed from the car and headed for Marlena's condo.

Will and Sonny sat on the sofa watching Marlena as she looked down at the sonogram photo of their twins. "Twins. You are having twins." She couldn't believe what she saw.

"Yes, grandma, we are having twins. We've already picked out their names. Sophie Caroline and Jackson Robert."

"I love those names. Isn't Victor's mother's name Sophie?"

"Yes, ma'am, it is. We wanted to honor someone that I had never met except in the stories that Uncle Victor has told me over the years."

"Well, I think that is wonderful Sonny. I know he's happy with the choice. You've decided to name your son after the both of you."

"It was my decision to name him after Sonny. Of course, he went along with it when he learned that our son's middle name would be my middle name too. We're thinking of calling them Sophie and Jack." Marlena stood up and walked over to them and hugged both of them with tears in her eyes.

"I am so happy for the both of you. Have you told your parents yet?" she asked.

"We told mom first and then we told Sonny's family." Marlena could tell by the look on Sonny's face that it wasn't good news at the Kiriakis house.

"If you your uncle is giving you problems, I'll take care of him because this is a very happy occasion."

"It's not Uncle Vic who is giving us a hard time. It's my mom. You know that she's always disliked Will and his family. Everything bad that happens in this town, she blames on you, Sami, Lucas, Kate and Will. She doesn't like that I love him and that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. I've told her over and over again that if she forces me to choose, I will always choose Will."

"Sonny, I know how much you love my grandson and I also know that you would never hurt him. I am happy for the both of you."

"Thank you Dr. Evans."

"Please call me Grandma. After all, you are family now and forever, whether your mother likes it or not."

"Thank you Grandma." Sonny hugged her back.

"Now we are going to tell dad the good news. After that we are going to the pub to let Grandma Caroline know that she's gonna have a namesake in about five and a half months."

"Okay. If you two need a baby sitter for my namesake, just let me know and I will be available."

"We might just take you up on that offer one night. Let Marley stay with her granny so her daddies have a night to themselves before her brother and sister arrive and take away all our freedom and sleep."

"I'll do whatever you want as long as you never call me granny again, especially in front of my great-grandkids."

"Yes ma'am." Will and Sonny hugged Marlena once again before they left her condo and headed to Lucas's loft he was sharing with his girlfriend, Bianca.
