A couple of days had passed and it seemed like everything was slowly getting back to normal for The Kent Family, Charlotte was still in hospital due to the fact that she wasn't going to be discharged until she had finished her course of antibiotics and she would only be discharged if Zoe was happy with another kidney test once she had finished her antibiotics, Sam spilt her time in visiting her daughter in ICU and working the odd shift.
Sam was due a break and truthfully she was exhausted since she hadn't heard from Tom in over a week and he wasn't answering her calls so she thought he could just get on with it, frankly she had stopped caring about her husband, he was the last thing on her mind because what mattered right now was making sure her daughter was better and being able to provide for her family.
Sam had just finished discharging her most recent patient and chose to take a break because she really was worn out, she pressed in the code for the door and walked in side where she saw Fletch and he smiled at her.
"Sam, you look exhausted" Fletch said and Sam rolled her eyes "Cheers Fletch, you know how to make a woman feel better" Sam said and Fletch shook his head "when was the last time you had a good lay down?" Fletch asked and Sam shook her head "Fletch I'm fine, it's nothing a cup of coffee won't sort out" Sam exclaimed and Fletch shook his head "you can't relay on coffee to get through the day Sam I know you've had a rough time lately with charlotte being ill and your problems with Tom but you need to remember you need to take care of yourself, you can't be a full time mum and doctor at the same time and be running on empty now doctor Nicholls I order you to go to the on call room and have a few hours rest" Fletch stated and Sam rolled her eyes " and what about my shift?" She asked "I'll cover for you, but really Sam you will thank me later" Fletch said and Sam nodded knowing he was right.
"Thanks Fletch I owe you one" Sam said and Fletch nodded "on call room now " Fletch said an Sam sighed, Fletch followed her to the on call room and when she got herself all snuggled up under the duvet, and was soon fast asleep.
Fletch left the on call room quietly as possible and he placed a do not disturb sign on the door,
"Has anyone seen Sam?" Zoe exclaimed later that day and Fletch nodded ":she's in the on call room, she looked like she needed a sleep" Fletch said and Zoe nodded "I've been telling her that for days, she's been running on empty lately" Zoe said and Fletch nodded.
"Do you think Sam and Tom will sort out they're differences? I know Tom's not been home since they argued and I know Sam's had to provide for the kids on her own and to be honest with you I don't think she's had time to have anything to eat" Fletch said sharing his worries.
Zoe nodded "I had noticed Sam had been looking rather thin lately, Fletch when she wakes up in the on call room you can both leave early and make sure she eats something" Zoe told him before placing a twenty pound note in his hand an Fletch took it "I'll try my best" he said and he placed the note in his scrub pocket.
A few hours later Fletch chose to wake Sam up in the on call room, eventually Sam stirred and awoke up and she saw Fletch looking down at her "nice nap?" He asked and Sam nodded "guess I needed it" she said and Fletch nodded "well my shifts over and you need to change from scrubs into your normal clothes and then we're going for something to eat" Fletch said but Sam rolled her eyes "okay, sounds good," she said and Fletch nodded.
