(I'M BACK! XD Ok, sorry for the long absense. I'm super excited because I've gotten to thwe part of the story I've been dying to right! XD I need your opinions though, should I add some creepy supernatural stuff in this or no? You know, spirits possessing bodys. Please, I need to know this for a future chapter. Oh, and enjoy!)
"Does she still have to go to the Moonpool with me?" Jayfeather asked. Bramblestar closed his eyes.
"Yes Jayfeather. This still rests on you both after all." Jayfeather growled, making the leader frown. This was so unlike Jayfeather, why would he be acting like this.
"Maybe you should just let Cinderheart go with him. He's too grouchy to be bothered tonight." Leafpool hissed eyes narrowed in anger. Why has her son become like this?
The grey tabby she cat growled at Leafpool. "I am a warrior for the last time! I'm not a medicine cat!"
"Geez keep your fur on. I was only joking." Leafpool muttered. One of her ears twitch as she caught Jayfeather saying something ending with "better company" and snorted. 'Ever since our help from Windclan, he's been so, so corrupted. Especially after what he said to his brother! How could he!' Yes, Lionblaze told her about his little encounter with Jayfeather, and it made her so angry. Oh yes, Leafpool had voiced her displeasure of that to him, that's for sure, and again the clan was the ever faithful audience. It to all of her will and power not to stand in front of her son and claw out his fur while arguing with him. And the lies! Where did he get those lies?!
Leafpool had never been alone with Crowfeather except a couple times they've talked in the apprentice den, and on the journey, and that didn't even count! On top of that Cinderheart! How dare she torture her son like this?! Oh she was going to pay, she was going to pay. Cherry had known about this, because Leafpool told her everything. At least she had one cat to confess in anyway. It scared her when she voiced her urges against Cinderheart, in which Cherry replied, "Your will is better than mine, Leafpool. I would have marker myself long ago for saying such things and killed the she cat to prove my point." Cherry was out of the medicine den now, still taking it easy, but almost better, Whitethunder made sure of that.
"Well, off we go," she mewed, making a hasty break for the entrance. She had to hurry and get to Moonpool and ask Starclan how to break this.
~ooo~
Jayfeather was angrier than ever. Lionblaze hadn't been swayed, and to make it so back he told Leafpool! 'Fine then, be that way. When you are hurt don't come crying to me!' And the audacity of the she cat to come and confront her about it, and in front of the whole clan! He could feel her restraint, but he didn't care. He wouldn't hold back any longer. And now she was coming with him to the Moonpool again? 'Starclan has got to do something about this!' He followed her out and met up with the others, following them all as they walked to the Moonpool. Willowshine was the only one coming, stating that Mothwing had a cold. Once they entered the area they lay down in their respective spots and closed their eyes.
~ooo~
"What is your problem?!" Hollyleaf screeched at him. Jayfeather winced and pawed at one of his ears. If one thing was true about Hollyleaf, it was the face that she had a serious pair of lungs.
"What are you mewling about?"
"You know what I am mewling about, Jayfeather." She hissed coldly. Firestar padded over to them, Graystripe and Tallstar beside him. Leopardstar appeared moments later, as did Bluestar and -Jayfeather shivers- his two tormenters. At last was four other cats, but they hung back, too far away for Jayfeather to see them properly.
"Jayfeather," Leafpool mewed quietly, and then nodded to the others. Her eyes filled with sorrow as she looked at Graystripe. "We miss you."
"I miss you all as well, but I'm always near." The grey tabby mewed, head held high. Once again his face turned back to Jayfeather.
"Leafpool, those four cats back there want to speak with you." Hollyleaf mewed. Leafpool frowned in suspicion, taking a look at all of them and then the four shadows in the back.
"Go on," Bluestar meowed softly. Flameblood, Killerfang, please take her to meet your founders."
"Of course Bluestar," Flameblood mewed all too sweetly. The turned on either side of her and walked away, both Moonclan cats glancing back at Jayfeather with a smirk. Killerfang made a swiping motion with her tail across her throat, then turned and looked head. Jayfeather shivered. He did not like those cats.
"Jayfeather," came Firestar voice, making the medicine snap his attention to him. "We have seen very unpleasant things."
"And a very unpleasant future," Graystripe added sadly.
Tallstar nodded his head in agreement and hummed. "You are the Thunderclan medicine cat yes?" He asked. Jayfeather nodded. "And you are to help cats yes? Medicine cats are neutral ground."
"Uh huh..." Jayfeather said slowly.
"Then why are you aiding Leafpool's demise?!" came an angry yowl. Yellowfang came barging in through a patch of tall grass, eyes glaring and fur as unkempt as ever.
"Yellowfang!" Bluestar exclaimed in surprise. Behind her Longtail and Spiderleg came running.
"We tried to stop her!"
"Do you have crow food for brains you idiot!"
Jayfeather growled. "What's wrong with you?"
"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with me?!"
"Yellowfang hold your tongue!" Bluestar snapped. She then turned her eyes to Jayfeather. "In 16 days blood will spill and a cat will die. One cat will become two and the histories first arcane warrior will be created."
Jayfeather froze. Another death? And an arcane warrior?
"Who?"
"That we cannot tell you," Leopardstar mewed.
Jayfeather stared at her. "What are you doing in my dreams anyway? You and him," he nodded to Tallstar, "aren't Thunderclan."
"No, but we were invited."
"Why?"
"That is also something that we cannot tell you."
Jayfeather groaned. Riddles and secrets. 'I'm tired of secrets!'
"So why isn't Leafpool here to hear this?"
"Because her duties are different from yours now. She is being briefed on her role in your life."
"She is not in my life!" Jayfeather snapped. Firestar sighed.
"Jayfeather, if this keeps up then two cats will die in the days to come, not one." If what keeps up? The cats started to fade, though Firestar stayed around longer. "We need all cats for the prophecy, Jayfeather. Don't make a mistake you will regret later. I am saying this to you as your former leader and your grandfather."
Jayfeather grumbled and shuffled his paws. "Ok Firestar." Firestar smiled at him and vanished.
Hollyleaf was behind him when he turned around, and he wonders when she had done that. "Hollyleaf, wha-" She pounced on him and pinned him down, then stared him down in the eyes. Visions swam before him, and there he was, face to face with a fox. Only, the fox didn't see him, it ran straight through him. He turned to follow it, and his legs trembled as he slowed down to a stop. Blood was everywhere and there laid two bodies near a tree. Both had their stomachs slashed opened, and both had lifeless eyes. Because of the blood he could make out their fur color, but he could make out the grey muzzle of one, and green eyes of the other. "Nooooo!" He flinched at the wail, and watched as a lone ran over to the bodies. Amber and vivid green eyes peeked out of the darkness around him, ones he knew well. He flailed as they pounced on him, claws, fangs, laughs.
It was such a relief when Hollyleaf parted from him, and the last thing he saw was his sisters pleading eyes. "Please..."
~ooo~
Jayfeather was shaken. He stood on trembling leg, nodding slowly when Kestrelflight asked if he was alright. He walked back to his clan, wishing the others good-bye and entering the entrance. Thornclaw greeted him and sneered at Leafpool, but he didn't pay them no mind. What he wanted now was sleep, and as he lied down and slept nightmares didn't plague him. He sighed happily, curling up into the warmth that surrounded him. A peaceful sleep. Beautifully peaceful.
Little did he know Leafpool sat there, wrapped around him with a troubled, frightened look on his face. She whimpered softly and pulled him closer, taking in his scent, a scent she was determined to ingrain deep inside her senses. She was scared and frightened. She didn't want to leave her clan behind, or her kits, or her niece and nephews. 'Only a half moon and some days to go,' she thought sadly, closing her eyes. She had to make the best of her time too, because in a half moon and two days, Leafpool was going to die.
