Forewords

Forgot to mention something in the previous chapter Afterwords. LT has the ability to detect the displacement of air with his hearing and nerves, which makes the rough equivalent of a non-supernatural Sixth Sense (he trained himself to do it).

I have the ability to submit 2 chapters per day, but I'm stuck with one. Why? Because I'm always sidetracked by Touhou Doujins such as "Life Of Maid" and "Hang In There, Kogasa-san".

Speaking of Kogasa-san, I've finally decided to follow Mizuki Hitoshi's time management skills (that is, setting an alarm clock on when to upload new chapters).

In which case, coming up next is Eirin Yagokoro AKA Dr Shady Drugs.

Chapter 35: This Isn't Meth

Time: 1235 Hour; 24th of July, 2125.

Location: Eirin's Clinic, Eientei.

"So this guy can detect the displacement of air caused by solid objects...

He will be a worthy opponent...

Looks like I'll just have to use my secret medicine..."

...

Location: Eientei Corridor.

LT tried opening a sliding door, but it won't budge.

"Sliding doors can't be locked, so this one must be barricaded."

Harrison showed up holding a bundle of TNT in his hands. "I say let's do this the old fashioned way."

LT snatched the bomb from his hand. "Cannot stab the door open, so I'll have to blow it open." He then sets the bomb and place it at the base of the door.

"Fire in the hole!" LT shouted as everyone dived for cover.

BOOM! The explosion takes out the door, leaving a smoldering hole in it's place.

"Everything has to explode, eh?" Harrison lampshaded.

Behind the door is some kind of laboratory. Lab apparatuses and chemicals can be seen all around the lab.

"Do we have a medic or mad scientist here?" LT noted.

"Do we have an intruder here?" Came a woman's voice.

LT and co was surprised by the voice, and looked around the lab for it's origin. The lab was very large, but wasn't lit up at the moment, so it was bordering pitch black.

The sound of something released from being stretched can be heard. LT looked around for the source, and found a Guard impaled on the head by an arrow.

"I have to congratulate you for having the ability to sense the displacement of air." The voice taunted.

LT looked at where he thinks is the source of the voice. "Turn on the lights and face me if you're not a coward!"

And so the lights came on.

At the other side of the lab was a silver-braided woman in a red-and-blue dress. She was wielding a longbow of some kind, with her left hand on the string...

...And on the table behind her was a ZPM.

"Looking for this?" The woman pointed her left hand on the ZPM.

...

Location: Moriya Shrine; Youkai Mountain.

Marisa descend over the front of the Moriya Shrine.

"Yo, Sanae! You home?" Marisa shouted into the shrine. Out came a desperate green-haired miko.

"Marisa! Where's your manners?" Sanae sicced the black-white witch for her behavior.

"Sorry..." Marisa apologized while scratching her head in embarrassment. "Say, where's Kanako and Suwako?"

"They went to Makai for some business." Sanae replied. "Why are you here?"

"Just need to ask you something, ze." Marisa replied again. "You grew up in the Outside World, right?"

"What about it?" Sanae was confused.

"Some Outsiders stumbled into Gensokyo 2 days ago, ze." Marisa explained. She then tosses a newspaper at the green-haired miko. "Any idea who they are?"

Sanae looked at the front page of the newspaper. The headline photo shows a group of the aforementioned Outsiders, with the guy-in-the-cap smack in the center.

"No..." Sanae replied. "I sure know that they are carrying futuristic weapons. But not even close to being that advance before I came to Gensokyo."

"..." Marisa remained silent, with a deadpan look on her face.

"Marisa?" Sanae looked at the black-white witch.

"I'll be going then, ze." Marisa said as she flies away on her own. "See ya later!"

"Wait! How did you fly on your own?!" Sanae shouted at Marisa, but not before the latter flew out of range.

Little did Sanae know, she had overlooked the headline text that was placed at the bottom of the photo. The text reads: Outsiders attacks! Scarlet Devil Mansion and Hakugyokurou raided by purely technological weapons! Eientei currently under siege! in English.

Several kilometers away from the Moriya Shrine, a certain black-white witch thought of the conversation she just had with Sanae.

"If Sanae is right, then just how long ago is it when she came? More so, just what is happening to the Hakurei Barrier? I thought very smart people cannot enter Gensokyo at all..." Marisa scratched her head at these thoughts. "I think I'll go ask Yukarin, ze."

...

Location: Eirin's Laboratory, Eientei.

"If you know I can detect the displacement of air by objects, then surely you know that I have the reflexes to catch arrows." LT said, while holding onto an arrow with his left hand. "That aside, your name's Eirin, right?"

As soon as he finishes the second sentence, the smoldering door behind him fell down at the direction of him and his men, with a sign on it that says "Kenkyushitsu Eirin. No entry". The second half of the sign is in English, the first half in katakana.

"Very well." Eirin congratulated, while keeping her longbow aimed at LT. "Then you must know that you have to defeat someone else before you can get back your Zero Point Module."

The arrow in LT's hand suddenly begins to release some kind of gas, LT threw it out of the only window in the lab with enough velocity to smash the window.

"Good job on guessing both the meaning of 'ZPM', and bobby trapping your arrows, Eirin-san." LT said, while slowly walking toward a medicine cabinet.

"What is the boss doing?" Harrison thought while keeping his WL-2 trained at Eirin.

"Outside your country - If Gensokyo is even your country - doctors that can fight are known as Combat Medics." LT said while opening a medicine cabinet to take something out. It was a jar of powdered chemical tagged as "Crystal Meth".

Harrison now understood what his boss is attempting.

"But then again..." LT unscrewed the lid of the jar. "Combat Medics never get much time to research medicines, anyway..."

LT looked like he was going to grab a handful of the substance in the jar, but pulled out his hand as soon as he dips a finger in it.

"Combat Medics like you..." LT added, while putting the lid back on the can. "You sure you tagged everything in this room correctly?"

Eirin looks confused at that sentence.

LT lift up the entire jar of powdered chemical with both his hands. "This one's wrong, because this isn't Meth."

Eirin looked like she felt dumbstruck at that moment. "Oh, Tewi, you godsdammed prankster..."

LT threw the entire jar at Eirin's feet with all his strength. It didn't take another word from him for Harrison and the other men to hit the ground.

"JAAARATEEEE!" LT shouted upon throwing the jar. The jar exploded with enough force to tear apart everything in the room (save for people in cover) upon hitting the ground, releasing fumes everywhere.

Afterwords

This chapter isn't really a fight versus Eirin, since neither side has yet to make a move (not counting Eirin killing a Redshirt).

Special note on Gensokyian English: they use "Godsdammit" instead of "Goddammit" (notice the S) due to obvious reasons. This phenomenon is also present in TakerFoxx's "Imperfect Metamorphosis" if you look hard enough.

Notice the final dialog of this chapter? Well, I have been wondering why the Touhou community and Team Fortress 2 community get along so well, so I ask myself "Why not include a reference to TF2?"

Shout-out index:

"Zero Point Module" - I'll be surprised if you haven't gotten this reference yet. It's one to the aptly named Zero Point Modules from the Stargate Franchise (the similarity is only in name, though).

"This isn't Meth." *Tosses the faux Meth and BOOM!* - Looks like Tewi picked up this trick from Breaking Bad. But just where did she get that much Mercury Fulminate, anyway?

"JAAARATEEEE!" - Another jar of substance used as a weapon. Thankfully this one isn't a jar potty...

That is all. "Until then..."
