"How have things been going for you over here?" My dad asked me the next morning at breakfast.

"They are going okay but they could better. School is so much harder than I thought it would be but I just took my finals yesterday so I am done until January." I told him.

"How do you like your host family?" He asked.

"Well there are four of them. The wife, the husband and the two daughters. I like the older daughter just fine. I don't have an opinion on the husband since I hardly ever spend time with him. The wife and the youngest daughter I can't stand to be around because they like to talk down to me." I said. "Think Jessica Stanley on steroids and I have heard worse living in forks and being a pale face and all."

"Okay but let me know if things get out of hand with them."

"I am fine dad." I replied. "I've got friends here so I don't spend that much time with them."

"I worry about you." He said. "And I can't help but worry about you."

"I know and we better get going if you want to meet up with Jasper and report back to his mom at a respectable hour." I replied.

"I have no idea what you are talking about, but we do need to get going."

I just rolled my eyes at my dad as I followed him out of the hotel. We caught a cab out to the Boscastle home. When we arrived we were greeted much more warmly than we would have been at the Dunn home. We will see what happens when I return tomorrow.

"Well Mr. Swan are you hungry?" Jasper asked.

"No not really." My dad replied. "I ate with Bells at the hotel. Not bad but I prefer American food."

"Dad your mother was Italian and your grandfather British." I said. "You didn't grow up eating the American food all the time. Besides you don't care as long as it has meat and potatoes... or fish."

"Okay you have a good point there."

"Well Mr. Swan it was nice to meet you. Maybe you can join Jasper on his fishing trip with my son and husband." Mrs. Boscastle said. "I'll keep Bella here to teach her how to make a traditional English desert."

"Oh I would love that. Is Charlotte going to join us?" I replied.

"Unfortunately no. She fell ill on the last leg of her and Peter's trip." Mrs. Boscastle said. "I pray its nothing serious but she does plan to be down for dinner if her dizzy spells stay away long enough."

"Oh I hope she is all right." I said. "Do you have any idea what it could be?"

"I have an inkling but I don't want to say anything before she does."

"What are you teaching me to make?"

"We are making a milk chocolate fudge brownie topped with raspberry ripple. Peter loves the brownie and Charlotte loves the raspberry ripple."

"Sometimes a home cooked meal is all that someone needs I feel better."

It was that moment that I noticed my dad was not in the room any longer. I felt bad. He had come here to England to spend Christmas with me and I was ignoring him. I went to the living room to see if he had gone in there but he was not there.

"He went outside with Jasper and Peter. They are going to head out to the lake soon." Mrs. Boscastle said. "Now come help me with the desert."
