Finishing the Mission part 2

While I was about to rip a bitch, Robin was trying to hack into the system while Hal helped him translate. Help him where he could, though.

Hal had translated the meaning of a button and Robin pressed it, but the button accidently overflowed the energy conduits and the machine was now emitting sparks with the added energy. Robin was trying his best to just wipeout the system before it was destroyed.

"What is that supposed to mean!?" Robin yelled after Hal translated something.

"I don't know!" Hal retorted, "That's the English translation for it."

"But that's not even an English word!"

"Not my fault, the ring translates what it sounds, ok!"

Robin banged his head on the control panel.

Meanwhile, Miss Martian was still trying to get into the head if their captive. Instead of leaving him in the bubble, Rocket took charge of guarding the exit boom tube with Killowag and Zatanna while Superboy held the horned man tightly back by the arms. Miss Martian tried one more mind sweep until, "I can't do it!"

"I know, I know…you tried everything." Superboy reassured her, "It's fine, you did your best, and we'll still come out of this mission ok.

Miss Martian looked down and away from Superboy and their captive. The kryptonian noticed something in her eyes, and he just knew there was something she wasn't telling him. "What is it?"

"There… there is another way."

"Well whatever it is, go ahead and do it, we don't have much time. If we want to know what's going on, then for the sake of the mission do it."

Miss Martian smiled. Ok, she could do this. She knew she could, especially now that Superboy was comforting her. Sure he didn't know exactly what was about to happen, but he had a good point. It was for the sake of the mission, she needed to know how they got a way to use boom tubes. Besides, even if this captive did go into a coma like Pismon, he wouldn't be out for long. Either way, he was the bad guy anyway. The girl hoped that was a reasonable excuse.

Miss Martian put her fingers to her temple and concentrated, her mind going into his. Deeply into his. She felt herself tearing right through the horned man's brain and through his memories. Saw everything, even the captive's darkest secrets. Miss Martian didn't know how to look, usually in the most basic search for info, what she was looking for would show up right in front of her. It was a wave of images going through her vision. Yet, when she saw it, it seemed all the images stood still, and disappeared leaving the one thing she came her for.

Miss Martian brought herself back to reality and yelled in joy, "I got it! I know how they obtained…." She faltered, seeing the captive man staring blankly at her now and foaming in the mouth a little. He slumped limp in Superboy's arms and so the kryptonian let him fall to the ground almost lifeless. At first, Superboy thought he was dead, but hearing the captive's faint heartbeat made him relax. Suddenly, Superboy remembered what happened to Psimon after his last battle with Miss Martian. Superboy worried about his girlfriend standing in front of him and just staring at the horned man lying face up to the sky. Superboy began, "Are you ok?"

"Yeah"

"What about him?" Superboy asked, this time a bit skeptic.

Miss Martian put on a brave face and said to him, "He'll be fine. He'll come out of it eventually. Besides, mission first remember?"

"I know but-"

"I think we should go help Rocket and Killowag with the rest of these guys." Miss Martian flew away and began to hover over the air looking for some more attackers.

Superboy looked down at the foaming mouth alien and then clenched his fist. He knew this happened before but he didn't push it, but it worried him to think that Miss M could do something like this. Now, was it ever good? Should she have done this? Should he let her do this? Was this right?

Back with Kid Flash and Artemis, they decided to take the horned men following them head on. Kid would run into the dark and hidden parts of the forest and then come streaking back into the clearing and grabbing the attacker's weapons and then breaking them. Sometimes he would come running in and punch them in the jaw to knock them unconscious. He yelled out to Artemis, sometimes asking, "How you doing, Art?"

"I'm fine." She said using her bow to swing at three on coming horned men at her. Then she brought up a leg to knee a guy in the face and then kicked out her foot push him off. Artemis looked at Kid as he zoomed by and she called to him, "Well, more than fine. This is fun!" she saw one guy with a gun and as he began to shoot she moved her head to the right to avoid it. Then she quickly planted an arrow on her bow and fired it. The horned man jumped left to avoid it and he continued firing. Artemis ran towards him as she zig zagged to avoid the shots. The horned man saw an opportunity to use his gun as a bat, but when he swiped in front of him Artemis skidded under him by the knees and then went on her hands so that her back feet went up behind her. She used them to kick the guy in the back. Artemis stood up as he fell and to keep him from getting up she kicked him in the face to knock him out.

"Doing just fine-Agh!" She yelled as another horn headed man came after her with one shot from his gun and another. Artemis decided to run out of the clearing and into the deep dark part of the forest. She didn't know if this was the direction she and Kid Flash had been running in before, but when she got there she reminded herself to tell Kid to turn around. On the other side of the line of trees from the clearing was a dead end. Well, more like a rocky cliff to a forest a few kilometers below. She halted just at the edge of the ridge and looked down, feeling bit dizzy in doing so. "Oh, nuts-"

Artemis stopped and ducked hearing gun shots fly by her. She looked to where she came from and found the horned man had followed her. To take him out she ran up to him to deliver a punch. He avoided every single one using his blaster as a shield. Without her knowing he brought up his knee to kick her in the stomach and then he head butted her. Artemis stepped back, just at the edge of the cliff. The man took the chance and threw out a fist.

Artemis blocked the attack but the force made her trip her left foot over the edge of the ridge. Since she was falling back, she wasn't able to reach out and grab a hold of the edge. Just for a second, Artemis felt scared of falling deep down in the forest below and hitting splat into the ground. But suddenly, she felt someone grab her right arm, the one not holding her bow, she remained in the air hanging over the ground far below. Artemis smiled, seeing Kid Flash kneeling over the edge and holding her hand with both of his, tight so she wouldn't fall. They smiled. Artemis shouldn't have doubted the fall for a second. But she did worry about the horned man standing up behind Kid and picking up his fallen weapon. He must have been pushed aside by Kid so the speedster could get to her. But now the man held up his weapon and pointed it to the back of Kid's head.

"Wally…" Artemis said fearfully.

The red head followed her line of sight and looked back seeing the man pointing the lazar gun at him. Kid Flash wanted to get rid of this guy, but that would risk Artemis slipping from his grip and falling. He wasn't going to risk it so he stayed there kneeling.

The horned man smiled a sinister grin and said something in is language. Whatever it was he didn't seem to finish it when something red came down on him like a dart and struck him out cold to the ground. The gun was blown back and then tossed over the edge of the ridge and down to the ground far down. Artemis winced hearing the small crash, and then she looked up at Kid to see if he was ok from whatever came down in front of him. "KF, are you ok?"

The red head wasn't looking at her, but he managed to say, "I'm- I'm fine." The thing was though that Kid flash was distracted in seeing a red armored man standing in front of him.

In the mean time I took the hammer I made and gave a war cry as I rammed it into the horned men that had surrounded Joey and were still electrocuting him. I knocked all three visible men out with one swipe each, but I didn't see the forth guy in the trees. I was so stupid, especially since he blasted me right in the back of my head. I felt like my brain had exploded and fired up with the pain of the electrocution. All that happened though is that I ended up seeing nothing but a blur and hearing a buzzing sound. I felt myself fall, even though my body tried not to but it just ended up letting me fall, back first to the floor. I was sprawled on the ground, looking at the sky as the blurriness tried to adjust itself. Something tall came in my line of vision but I couldn't tell who it was. They held something in their hands and aimed it at me, and I just knew it was one of the attackers. I wanted to get up and lift my ring hand to make a construct but my body was stills stunned from the electric shot.

Suddenly, another and darker figure ran in and rammed themselves into the horned man about to shoot at me. My eyes suddenly focused and my ears were able to finally hear what was going on. Aqualad had run in and made a water hammer to push against the attacker. The horned man in return tried to push against Aqualad, but the Atlantian boy was stronger. Aqualad gave one more thrust at the man and the attacker stepped back a few feet, away from me. The Atlantian stood in front of me to protect me as I slowly came around and sat up. I rubbed my head to check if there were any wounds. Not seeing any blood but feeling a swelling in my scalp, I concluded it was a minor concussion. I say minor because I can still understand what's going on around me, especially Aqualad making a water sword and going up against the guy who had been about to kill me. Aqualad came in and saved me…. That's so sweet…. Wait, we're team mates right now of course he saved me Pfft. I must have been hit harder in the head then I thought.

I got up weakly on my own but then Joey suddenly came in and helped me up. I used his big head as support to stand up and then look around for more attackers. Two other horn headed men charged at us and I made a huge dome around us. I still wasn't in fighting mode still so all I could think about was protecting myself and Joey. Joey went back to calling out for his family with his chirping and roaring sounds. I was busy looking around for Aqualad.

I saw him still up against the horned man who attacked me before. The attacker shot lazar fire at Aqualad but the fish boy jumped over every single on them, doing a flip in the air and then landing perfectly back on his feet. Then Aqualad took out his weapon and made two swords. Like a ninja he avoided more fire and when he got to the man he sliced the gun in half. The attacker growled and threw a few punches which Aqualad blocked using the hilt of his swords. He kicked the alien away since he was getting too close and as the attacker recuperated Aqualad used the water in his pack to create an ice cylinder. What is he doing? He set it up right on the ground and with his power surging through him, Aqualad's tattoos began to glow. With his magic he sliced the cylinder into several disk and threw them at the guy. They made a few cuts on the horned man's arms and legs, but then one flew flat into his face and shattered, the impact knocking him unconscious. Aqualad turned all the ice back to water and commanded it to go back into his pack. That was bad ass.

Seeing he wasn't busy anymore, I called out to Aqualad to join me in the dome I made. Even though it was supposed to block the horn headed men who were shooting at me, I made a hole big enough for Aqualad to jump through and then close behind him as he came in. Aqualad said to me, "Are you all right."

"A little light headed, but I'm hanging in there. Thanks for the save."

"Of course." He said, "But now how are we going to get out?"

"I think if we take- Ow!" I yelled as I felt a sting in the back of my head. The pain made me loose concentration and the shield stared to disappear. Joey noticed and his little stubs for ears lowered in fear. Even Aqualad was concerned. "Mary!" Though I had fallen to my knees, I still managed to get my head back into the fight to put the shield back up. The men outside the dome continued firing and Aqualad kneeled down next to me and said, "What happened?"

"I think my brain is still a bit fried, it was just a little sting though. I'll be fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah."

Joey's chirping and roaring continued, but now having gotten hurt my head wasn't able to take how load he was calling out. "Joey! Can you stop!" The creature continued roaring. "Figures."

"We must get you out of here." Aqualad insisted, putting an arm around me.

"Well, better come up with an escape route fast because – argh!" My head stung again and this time I had to put my hands on my head to pressure it enough to stop the pain. This is worse than when I was learning to get my healing powers. The shield started to disappear and I squeaked, "Oh no…" Joey noticed and he stopped calling out

The horned men stop firing but they yelled at us, "Stay where you are, or we're going to have to end you on the spot." Aqualad, probably not understanding what the man said, stood up in front of me to face the horned man with a water sword in hand. The horned man aimed to shoot at Aqualad. I wanted to get up and yell for everyone to stop, but a load roar didn't give me a chance. I looked behind me to where Joey was and said, "Joey, can you please…" the roar came again and I realized it wasn't Joey. Joey was wagging his tail in delight and his head was going around looking for the source of the roar going around. Where is that sound coming from…

As soon as I asked myself that, something huge jumped out of the dark forest.

A.N: What could it be? We'll just have to see. Translations man, even in alien languages. Robin is going to hit boiling point. So I'm hinting on Miss M's development in her mind powers that go into season 2, especially with Superboy getting suspicious. Kid Flash and Artemis are kicking butt and then are suddenly saved by a mysterious man, guess who. I used a little of Katara from ATLA's fighting style for Aqualad's fight and Mary just needs to stop getting hurt, poor girl. So how does the fight go on? Until next chappy. I'm KikaKatTIOI, peace out
