Flashbacks
"The greater evil happened… While we were away with the first trial the greater evil sent… someone to Ooo… what it did there changed everyone. The second trial… Lady Rainicorn got dragged up into it; she got possessed and went to kill Phoebe… Finn protected Phoebe before he knew what he was protecting her from and he… he hurt Lady quite badly… Lady survived that… but you… you were furious… although at the time we didn't know there was actually something inside you… an evil entity like what was in Simon's crown… you went after Finn… and you chopped off his arm Jake… you took away his arm…" Jake stared horrified at the tale Lumen was telling him. How could it be true…? Lumen carried on.
"After you cut it off the evil inside you grew and you went to kill Finn… Lady got in the way and… and… and you killed Lady. After that… no one could forgive you. They understood but still they could not forgive. Fionna and Marshall are annoyed as you hurt Finn but they accepted it wasn't your fault but Bonnie… Bonnie couldn't forgive you for killing her best friend."
"The first to fall was the last to live; the last to fall will be the first to live. The beginning is the end. When the 25th world is embraced by evil the final trials shall occur.
First they shall face grief
Then they shall face loss
And finally the light shall appear.
The light made up of the sword, the shield and the heart. It once fought the darkness and in their battle our worlds were born. When the light shall rise it shall either erase the darkness or mark the darkness's victory. The end will be either the beginning of eternal darkness or the beginning of new light. Fate rests in those that wield the light."
"You don't understand.. He can't come here but it doesn't mean he can't affect here... the second trial is about to start... and I'm afraid it's going to be a battle of relics..."
"I don't get what you mean? and how soon...?"
"The relic's the darkness has been gathering... It's corrupted them.. twisted them to it's whim.. they're no longer relics of light... but darkness."
"How long Ghost.?"
"My best guess... the most time you have left until the second trial begins... is a week and I think we also have another problem..."
"What is it?"
"When Fionna sealed you're powers they were absorbed into her... if she is to do that to the darkness... what happens to the baby she is carrying...?"
"...What do you think would happen...?"
"Best case scenario... The baby would die..."
"THAT'S THE BEST CASE... WHAT'S THE WORST!?"
"The baby would be a vessel for the darkness... He would be born with a strong physical body with both his own powers and Marshall's powers... which allows him to absorbs the powers of those he defeats... It could lead to the darkness.. gaining all of our powers.. and making him unstoppable..."
"Oh... fuck."
8 Days After Martina's Death
Phoebe, Light, Marceline and Hope
"MUM CALM DOWN!" Light yelled at his Mum. He held onto her tightly trying to comfort her but also trying to stop her from charging back outside.
"FP you need to chill girl He's going to be okay. Marshall and Fionna are with him, they would have got him and taken him to safety... okay..."
"HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT! We've already lost enough people!"
"...that's not going to happen... it'll all be okay..."
"How! Hunter is missing, Belle is dead! and now Finn is out there injured and we can't do anything about it! Bonnie and Bubba are so busy trying to save us that they don't even know yet that their little girl is now in the hands of the relics! And don't forget no one's even heard from Lumen and Jake since this trial started!"
"Mum listen to me! Belle isn't dead..."
"How?"
"Because she doesn't exist here yet... as long as the us from now don't die we will keep living because we will never have to go back... it's like a paradox... we exist now because we don't exist yet so we are expendable... and Belle... she knew what she was doing.. She managed to finish the shield for the Ice Kingdom... now nothing can get in there and Cloud, Betty, Simon and the others there are all okay... trust me.."
"It doesn't change... that you're fathers still in trouble..."
"Mrs Mertens" Phoebe looked down at Hope and blushed.
"Yes sweetie..."
"Isn't Uncle Finn always in trouble?..." Phoebe picked up Hope and gave her a big hug.
"Yes... yes he is..."
Marceline sat against the wall and tried working out how things got so bad...
...Lumen had called everyone together to tell them that the darkness was coming soon but the second trial would be starting sooner than they realised.
...Everyone had pooled the information they had learned about the second trial... that it was the one where they would face loss...
...That Lady and Jake were going to be infected by some of the dark relics and that it would lead to the fight that occurred in the previous time line where Lady died, Finn lost his arm and the very past they were trying to change...
...Hunter said that he had something he needed to check out and then left in a hurry, no one had seen him since. Lumen had asked BMO and Bella to head underground to stay with Susan Strong. When Bella had protested Lumen replied that he couldn't lose her again and he wanted BMO to keep her safe but everyone knew it was just a way to keep them both safe...
...The Candy Royals then informed every Kingdom of the impending doom and they all activated the provisions they had in case of the Lich returning including Bunkers to hide in and preparing their Armies...
...Flame King and Finn apparently had a talk and it was decided that he would lead the residents of the Fire Kingdom to the underground tunnel area where Finn had proposed since it was safe for them. Flare had complained but decided to go with them to look after Lily...
...Everyone had prepared themselves for the worst, they trained, gathered resources and set out every defense and advantage they could find... but it all meant nothing... the moment the predicted day came the marks on their hands had returned and caused all of the champions to be randomly split up. Light and Hope were quick enough to hold onto their mothers and were taken along but Belle wasn't...
...She stayed in touch with the group however and set off for the Ice Kingdom... apparently ever since she had arrived in the past Ooo she had been working on a special device... a way to protect the family of Snow and Ice...
...But that had been a decision she would regret...
Several Hours Earlier - Lumen and Jake
"So we're heading to your house Jake?" Lumen asked still confused. When the two had reappeared in a field on the outskirts of Ooo Lumen had wanted to just teleport them back to where they were but Jake was against it.
"Yes... we need to find Lady before it's too late.." Jake replied seriously.
"Because of the dark relics?"
"Yes... the future you told me that she and I become infected with something... this is the trial of loss... she died... the pieces all made sense but I don't intend to lose and kill my wife so we're going there and then you're going to use your powers to make sure we're clean of the infected and then she is going to head to her parents where the kids are waiting for her..." Lumen could tell he always planned to do this for the second trial.
"Are you sure you don't want to go with her Jake? You're a parent too... no one would blame you if you wanted to sit this one out..."
"Dude... I'm Finn's bro, there ain't no way in the nightosphere that I'm not gonna have his back. I was an adventurer before a Dad and a horrible person before either... I have to live with that but this is my world... my home and I've been chosen to defend it by some mystical force... I will do what I can..."
"...Wow... didn't expect that dude..."
"I went to see Prismo... I asked him to show me the future that the other us changed, I saw their future and then I got to see ours if we pull this off... and I can understand why future Finn was willing to send his kids back to achieve that... it's perfect..."
"I'll trust you dude... but.. can we just teleport to your house?"
"...I forgot you could do that..."
"Thought so... hold on tight..." Jake wrapped his arms around Lumen and the two disappeared in a blast of black flames. The pair appeared in front of Jake's house and were about to walk towards it when Jake suddenly pulled Lumen to the ground. A whoosh sound rang in their ears as they looked up to see a figure holding a cracked blade at them.
The figure was about Finn's height, he was wearing black armor all over his body but it was cracked with thin white lines that seemed to glow. He looked down at the pair and then readied his blade to swing again. The pair jumped back up and prepared to fight. Suddenly a scream rang out and Lady came flying out of the house. She was covered in bruises and wounds... there was clear signs that she had been tortured from some knife marks in her body. Jake ran over to her and pulled bandages out of his bag. He started to treat her as Lumen faced off against the Black Knight.
The Knight however stood waiting and soon enough from the house walked out another corrupted relic. This one was a girl shorter than the other. She wore a long black dress with long black gloves and a black flower decorating her head. Like the Knight all of her features were black but covered with white cracked lines.
"What are you suppose to be?" Lumen asked the pair. The Knight just met his gaze and remained silent.
"We...are the relics of time... we now serve the Darkness... he gave us back our forms and promises us a new chance if we just destroy the last few pests in his way... We are sorry we have to do this... but we have no choice... Shield of Light who carries darkness... you should be able to understand our pain..."
"I am the shield which is why I will always protect the people I love from evil like you..."
"I was mistaken... I had hoped not to have to kill another relic so soon... but like all the rest you are a fool... You asked what we're suppose to be? He was the Angel of Light's armor.. he protected her, he was her faithful knight. I on the other hand was nothing more than the red dress she used to wear, it was my purpose to be her clothes.. So I guess as names you could call us Knight and Red... though I guess from our features you couldn't tell that..." Lumen noticed that Red looked to her clothes with a mix of regret and shame but quickly she shook it off.
"...How could you... you are two of her closest allies.. how could you abandon what you were to work for the Darkness..."
"...You think we like this? that we wanted this?... When the Angel fell... she split her power into relics and sent them to the many worlds... some didn't make the fall... some lost their minds unable to exist without her and became evil... some were taken up by the champions... and some were merged with hosts just like the dark merged with you and the light you received from the relic upon your wrist... even now all of these relics were the lucky ones... we weren't found by heroes... we weren't gifted death... we were found or turned over to the darkness... sacrifices in a desperate attempt from mortals to be spared... tortured for centuries.. broken and rebuilt.. you have no idea.. your precious sister got off lightly.."
"...If thats how you really feel then I will free you from his grasp..."
"...Please do.. but if you're too weak to live up to your promises... you will die.." Knight stepped forward ready to fight Lumen. Red on the other hand took a step back and materialized a bow and when she pulled back on the string a black arrow appeared ready to fire.
Finn, Fionna and Marshall
The three flew as fast as they could back to the tree house. They had been dropped off in the desert where the remaining ooze mutants from the Great Mushroom War still wandered. They decided it would be safer to fly than to try to walking and fighting the mutants.
"So whats the plan Finn?"
"Wait.. why do you assume I have a plan Marshall?"
"...ermm... because you're Finn?"
"True, well you're right... We need to regroup and fast or at least get somewhere where we can make calls to the others to find out what's going on. Once we're together we need to find the relics and fight them... judging by what Ghost said it's not like they have a surplus of them... we have at least 4 here in Ooo with our swords and Lumen and including the Crown, Phoebe's matrix and the Lich, doubling them for Aaa that's another 6 so we have 10 covered. Some were destroyed or never found so we can estimate that he has around 10 too at most"
"...that's crazy that you can work that out... we're meant to be the same but I couldn't do that..." Fionna remarked impressed.
"It's just because I got my memories of the Pillow World back, I couldn't have done it if it wasn't for that and if you ever get yours back you'll be like me.."
"Wait... what? So that Pillow thing with a wife and kids wasn't just Finn?"
"Marshall you don't have to worry, I have no memory of it... and it's not like I'm ever going back so there's no Husband and kids going to be popping up soon. Don't worry..."
"Pfft you think I'm worried Fi... please remember who you're talking to" Marshall said with a laugh. Fionna looked at Finn and smiled they both knew that Marshall was indeed worried.
The trio kept flying until they were nearing the edges of the desert when Finn heard his phone ring and they decided to land.
"Hey Phoebe where did you guys get sent?"
"Finally you answer... We were only put a little north of the tree house we're already on our way back now... Where are you?"
"We're in the desert lands, we will still be quite a while though but we're all good, I'm with Marshall and Fionna"
"...Your close to the Ice Kingdom then? and That's good I was worried you were on your own..."
"Yeah shouldn't take too long to get there why do you ask? and What about you, who are you with you said 'we'?"
"I'm with Marceline, Hope and Light so I'm fine don't worry, We've managed to get in touch with everyone except Lumen and Jake so far. Bonnie and Bubba were teleported almost to the Candy Kingdom so their going in to set up their defenses and finish the tracker to find the relics using Lumen's candle flame that they have from reviving Phoenix. I'm asking though because I'm worried about Belle... She's on her own and heading for the Ice Kingdom... something about a Shield... we tried talking her out of it but she hung up on us and now Bonnie and Bubba aren't answering. You know those two once they get started..."
"It's good that your with the others and I'll try Lumen and Jake too... If that's true then we'll head over to the Ice Kingdom and try to meet with her and then head back to the treehouse... I'll get going... Love you Phoebe..."
"Love you too Finn... Please be safe..."
"Will do.."
Belle
Belle continued running across the grasslands, in her hands was her device she had been working on since she arrived in Ooo. Unbenownst to the other champions and future children Cloud had told Belle that during the original second trial the Ice Kingdom was also a target. Because of the champions insignia's on their hands they were magically teleported away from the group however because of the magical shield Simon had used to separate the Ice Kingdom from the outside world the Ice Champions were not transported neither were the champions who had returned to Aaa. However according to what Cloud had found out from Ice Finn... Two of the relics managed to break through the magic shield and attack the Family of Ice. Although they survived they took serious injuries, Betty lost the mobility in her legs but uses her magic to fool the others in the future so they didn't worry. They also were responsible for Cloud's powers being so out of control during his childhood. Belle was determined to prevent this.
As she finished her device and looked up the Ice Kingdom was coming into view. She smiled, it was time to protect the person she loved. She ran up to the wall and ran her hand across it. She could feel a cool invisible barrier in front of her and smiled. The magic shield was still up. She knew that a normal shield wouldn't hold against the relics but after the work on restoring Phoenix to a body she realised the solution. The relics were like Lumen, Light and Dark... So she used the candle lit with Lumen's fire and some traces of the dark power left over from when his crown went out of control to create a device that repels light and dark powers. She felt guilty that it would stop Lumen or Isabella getting close to the Ice Kingdom but she had to do it. She headed round to the entrance of the Ice Kingdom to plant her device when she was approached by a voice.
"Hey little girl..." Belle span round to see a girl around her age and height. Immediately Belle knew who she was... a relic. The girl was wearing a hoodie, jeans, shoes and her hair was down. All of her features were black aside from her hair and eyes which was pure white. Unlike Red or Knight... This relic wasn't cracked. Belle looked at her wrists and noticed that there were chains tied to them which were dragging on the floor behind her.
"Little girly... you wouldn't happen to know how to enter this Kingdom would you?... You see I'd like to go see some dear friends who are inside but for some reason I can't enter? And since you're hanging out... and have no insignia I'd imagine you know how to enter?" The relic smiled at her which unsettled Belle even further. She thought quickly for a way out of the situation.
"Ermm... Hello yes I do know how to get in... if you'd like... I could show you? and My name is Belle... what's yours?" Belle tried to calm her voice but it still cracked due to her nervousness. The relic seemed to relish in this fact.
"Why thank you Belle... I'd like that a lot... and Well I don't really have a name to speak of... let me think... chains... I'll go with Link, you can call me Link." Once again the relic smiled at the little girl.
"Okay Link... let's go..."
Belle and Link headed round the boundary wall of the Ice Kingdom engaging in conversation. Belle was careful not to let anything slip that would give away her identity but Link on the other hand did not seem to mind telling Belle a lot of details. Belle learnt that in Ooo there was now 9 Relics including her. That two had already met their targets and that all the others were on the move. That not all relics were as devoted to the darkness as the rest. Some were opposed doing this but had no choice. Belle took note of everything she said and sent it straight to her parents computer. Soon the pair arrived at the entrance.
"So Belle my little friend how do we open up this door?" Belle could feel the blood lust coming from the twisted relic.
"We.. just need to use a device to deactivate the shield at the right point and then it will let us enter."
"...Do you have that device?" The relic asked impatient.
"Yes... I'll set it up now if you like?" Belle pulled the device from her bag. Link looked at it and realised only Belle would be able to use it so let the little girl start setting up. Link watched as the device stuck to the invisible shield as if it was always meant to. Belle opened up a keypad on the device and began typing in data. She could feel Link's gaze on her back and had long given up thinking of escape plans. She had sent the information she'd gained to everyone, she'd done everything possible to protect the Ice Family and now she knew that her time in this time line was soon to be done. She finished typing in the last few digits and then hit the start up button. A white flame blew out over the Ice Kingdom, followed by a black flame and then a purpled one. Link looked on impressed she had began to grow impatient and felt that the flame show was the shield going down. She ran at the door intending to burst it open when she felt her body burning. The 3 flames clung to her body and sent her flying from the Kingdom. She landed in a pile of Ice and the flames went out.
"What Have You Done!" She said trying to contain her anger as she stared down Belle. Her hair was flowing like the white flame showing the rage inside her. Belle let out a big breath and started to laugh.
"What have I done? I set up a shield around the Ice Kingdom that will react to people bearing the elements of Light or Dark and then send out flames to attack them. Light to attack the dark, Dark to attack the Light and my personal blend of Purple flames to make sure they take the hint. On it's own it's not really a strong shield... but now it's combined with the magic shield it's unstoppable. I just put a giant cover over the only weakness in this shields strength" Belle smiled at the relic whose face had lost all traces of the one who had been happy to follow the little girl.
"...Ha...Ha.. thwarted by a little brat...ha... ha..."
Belle watched Link climb back out from the snow. Around her wrists where the chains were she noticed that they seemed to be coming out from the girls body... more and more chains piled at the relics feet as she continued laughing.
"You see... now I have no way to kill my targets... and that won't please my darling... so i think... a cocky brat like you... could become the perfect bait to steal someone else's targets..."
"What are you gonna do? Chain me and up make me call for help because I wouldn't do that... I'd rather die..."
"...Perfect... I think... that works out perfectly." Belle heard the chains dragged around the floor and approach her. The relic wasn't moving just staring at her as the chains began to wrap around Belle's body tightly.
Finn, Fionna and Marshall
"So Finn what did she say?" Fionna asked Finn impatiently. He had suddenly stopped to talk to Phoebe on the phone and now she and Marshall were awaiting news of the others.
"She said they're okay, they've got in touch with everyone but Lumen and Jake, I just tried they're phones but they didn't answer. Although we have to hurry... apparently Belle's alone and heading for the Ice Kingdom... something about a shield."
"Wait... alone!?"
"Yup"
"Then we need to go! She does know that this is a trial right? That right now there are like 10 Evil Lumen's wandering around planning to kill us all and offer up our world to something even the Lich feared?"
"I know.. I feel the same which is why we should get to her as soon as possible."
"Guys"
"Finn we need to move now!"
"I know Fi so lets get going!"
"GUYS!" Both Humans turned to see Marshall looking down at his phone worried.
"What!?"
"Belle texted me... I think she texted you guys too... She's with a relic... and apparently she found out some stuff.. there's 9 of them... apparently 2 have met up with their targets... given from what we know I think Lumen and Jake are currently fighting these relics which is why we can't get in touch with them... and apparently not all the relics are as evil as we thought... they ain't good but we may be able to save some of them... but... I think the one Belle is with is evil... so we have to go..."
"LET'S GO!" Fionna screamed at them. Marshall turned into a giant bird form grabbed the other two and began flying fast towards the Ice Kingdom. Fionna had never seen this form before but then again she knew that he had other forms he never used like the cute fluffy bat he turns into when she can't sleep at night to keep her company.
"Marshall are we nearly there?" Finn called up to him.
"Yes... but I'm getting a bad feeling Finn... I mean... something's seriously wrong..." He replied.
Marshall dropped the humans to the floor and then turned back into himself. He smelled the air and the smell of blood filled his nostrils.
"Guys... I smell blood..."
"What way!" Marshall pointed towards a group of trees in the distance. The three ran towards it and began searching. It was clear where to look from the trail of red blood highlighted by the snow. They followed it to a tree in a clearing. They found Belle. On the floor around the tree was only red. Through Belle's hands were chains as she hung from the tree not moving. Finn rushed forward to free her. He began to hack at the chains when he saw Belle move. The chains loosened and Belle dropped to the floor. Finn went to turn her over to see if she was okay when he felt warm liquid on his chest. He looked down to see a chain going into his chest. He fell backwards into the snow and watched in disgust as Belle's body began to move once again due to the chains. This time she was moved in a way where they could see her properly... Like Finn she had a hole in her chest... the chains weren't just in her hands... they were wrapped around her whole body digging into her body. Her eyes... appeared to be sewn shut as well as her mouth... and her head tilted back showing... that after all the torture... and the abuse her body went through... her throat had been slit.
Finn heard Fionna puke behind him and Marshall try to help her. He clutched at the wound in his chest hoping to slow the bleeding when he heard someone singing. He watched as the chains begun to move making it look like Belle was dancing. Marshall and Fionna watched this in horror remembering the Music Box world... this was the same dance.

The trio looked on with pale faces as Belle's corpse was forced to dance to the eerie rhyme. When the voice stopped they heard laughing from the top of the tree and looked up to see a small girl sitting there. She jumped down from the tree sliding down the chains that held Belle and landed beside her. She continued laughing and then span Belle round before facing the trio.
"Thank you ladies and gentlemen for enjoying the show and for attending."
"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER!" Fionna screamed at her.
"...Well... that was rude... not even any applause... but I should expect this... and lets see... I think I must have beat her... cut her... and I did that in turns for a while... she wouldn't call for help at all.. which made me angry... I tried to force her to by piercing her hands with chains and lifting her... this seemed to hurt the most... her screams still ring in my ears like a lullaby... but still she wouldn't tell me how to work her devices... and wouldn't call for help... I lost my temper... my bad really... and thats how she got the hole in her chest... and because of that no matter how many times i punched or stabbed her she wouldn't... no she couldn't make a sound... so i slit her throat... then i got bored waiting so i played around with her a bit... sewed up her stupid eyes and her lying mouth... then I heard you guys approaching... so we thought we'd put on a nice little show for you...? Does that answer your questions?" Silence fell for a moment before Finn rose, ignoring the pain, and ran at the Relic with his sword raised. He was about to slash her in two when Belle's body appeared in front of him. He paused for a second but it was enough. More chains burst from Belle and pierced his body. He then was sent flying into a tree behind the others. Fionna grabbed her sword and ran at the relic. Every time she went to swing her sword she was either blocked by chains or Belle's body. She was faster than Finn and not injured so easily dodged the chains.
Marshall on the other hand ran over to Finn. He went into Finn's bag to find that the cyclops tears bottle had been smashed. He swore in frustration. Fionna's bag had been back at the tree house when they had been sent on the trial so Finn was the only one with the tear's. He grabbed some bandages and wrapped them round Finn's wounds but he could see the color fading from his skin and eyes he was stuck for what he would do when he looked down at his hand... and saw Finn's blood covering it... there was... one way he could cure Finn's wounds since they weren't past the point of recovering naturally with a little aid unlike Fionna's on the last trial. He leant over to Finn's neck and felt his soft flesh against his teeth as he bit into him. He injected his vampire venom into Finn's neck and drank some of his blood. Marshall watched as Finn's wounds healed up however his pale color didn't change. Marshall just hoped that like Bubba, Bonnie have made a machine that could cure vampirism.
Marshall threw Finn over his shoulder, before turning into a giant bat and grabbing Fionna. He flew away heading straight for the Candy Kingdom. He looked up at the sky grateful for the cloudy day worried about the possibility that the sun could come out and burn Finn.
"MARSHALL WHAT ARE YOU DOING! WE CAN'T LEAVE BELLE THERE WITH HER!"
"NO... But we have to get Finn to Bonnie's Vampire curing machine before it's too late..."
"Why would Finn need... what did you do?"
"He was bleeding out Fionna... the chains smashed the Cyclops tears bottle so I... I turned Finn into a vampire..."
"MARSHALL! He's not like you whose half demon! HE'S PURE HUMAN! If you bite him he'll turn into a Pure VAMPIRE! not in control like you!"
"...It was a risk I had to take Fi.. now we have to get a move on.."
From the ground Link watched the retreating trio in amusement. What they didn't realise was that she left some of her chains inside the human male... she could find them whenever she wanted now. She turned around to see a skeleton holding the body of Belle.
"What do you want?"
"You shouldn't have done this... this child was innocent..."
"Oh shut up Grim... you've always been like this!" Link began withdrawing all of her chains from the area back into her body. Her hands were dripping with Belle's blood as the chains from her body came back. She turned to face the Skeleton. His bones were all white with the only black being his robe. Out of all of the relics he was the least devoted to the darkness.
"Why did you even bother coming here Grim? You don't care about any of this, our master only keeps you alive because he can control death with you by his side so why come here when you're nothing but a b****."
"Just because I didn't betray our Lady like you did doesn't make me any less of a relic. The darkness is evil and he needs to be stopped... I will do his bidding for now but the moment I get the chance to repay him for everything he's done I will..."
"You want to watch what you say Grim... or I'll make sure you never have to worry about it again."
"Link? Was it... that's what you've named yourself... you can try all you like but deep down we both know here where life still stands strong you're nothing compared to me... which is why you should leave my targets alone..."
"Those 3 are your targets?... oh that's great... so the traitor wants to speak to the Sword and the Heart? like I'm going to let that happen... you want them you get them... but me I'm taking my toy and I'm going to get them."
"The girl stays."
"You what..."
"This child does not belong to this time or to this fight... I'm going to return her body to Death so that she can be returned to where she belongs properly..."
"You want to take my toy?"
"...I suppose the right answer is... You no longer have a toy."
From Grim's shadow rose another similar to him however clad in white clothes with a white hat matching his white bones. Link scowled and then disappeared into the woods.
"So Grim... you were a relic?"
"Hey Death... been a while... yeah... turns out it fused with my bones..."
"And you're working with the darkness..."
"...Till I can find a way to destroy it and avenge everyone... yes.."
"I can't believe... it... I thought for sure when you threw Lumen through into this world you would have died..."
"No... he needed me... to keep Isabella alive... to control Death... one of his target's here is you too Death so don't stay on this realm too long... he wants to replace you with me so he can control this worlds life and death too..."
"Thanks for the heads up Grim... now can I please take the child..." Grim handed the body of Belle over to Death. The two held their hands over her body and it repaired itself.
"Her bodies fixed... but where is her soul?"
"Already in the future.. I'm going to look after her body till the time she is born in this world... I'll keep it from the champions... they don't need to see a dead child..."
"I guess this is goodbye Death..."
"Yes Grim it is... find Finn, Fionna and Lumen... those 3 are your answer to the darkness... help them... save them... do whatever you can..."
Death disappeared back into the shadows carrying Belle's body with him leaving Grim in the woods... he looked back at the bloody tree in a clearing of snow and sighed before heading off in the direction Marshall flew.
Somewhere Deep in the Lost Woods
"Are you sure it headed this way?"
"Am I sure? Yes what's the point in me directing you if you're not even going to listen?"
"Okay... Okay I was just double checking..."
"And if you don't believe me just follow the blood... for a demi-demon whose name is Hunter you're not the best hunter are you?"
"Yet another dig... seriously if this is how you talked to the Huntress Jade, I can see why she ignored you..."
"She ignored me because she feared me... and It's not a dig it's constructive criticism"
"Sure it is..."
"Hush... look we've found it..."
Hunter looked into the hollow tree in front of him. Curled up in a ball hiding was the target he'd been trying to find. He grabbed it and pulled it back into the woods. He threw it against a tree and Jade used her magic to tie it down. Hunter grabbed it by the hair so their eyes met.
"Hello Mr. Relic of Knowledge, I have so many questions for you so it seems like we're going to be spending a lot of time together... so could you please stop running away?"
"He wouldn't have had the chance if you had tied him up properly the first time.." Hunter ignored the comment and waited for the Relic to talk.
"You can torture me all you like... I will never betray my master..." He spat at Hunter who easily dodged it.
"Well... then this... is going to be a lot of fun..."
"Try not to kill this one... We already killed the last one we managed to track down.."
"What one was that again?"
"It was one called Lace... apparently all their names are related to what item they were... like Lace was a Necklace who was targeting Bonnie, The other relic with her called Lock managed to escape but I'm sure together Bonnie and Bubba can kill one relic..."
"...You two have already killed..." Hunter looked down at the relic and punched it in the face.
"Don't speak till you're spoken to.. So... what do we have here then?"
"Well from what we learnt from Lace this Relic is the one of knowledge, he was a pair of reading glasses but it seems that when he was corrupted his host item got broken so he doesn't have a name or any memory of being the Angel's Possession. He remembers everything but that. He's loyal to the darkness because that's all he has left aside from his knowledge... I say we don't bother giving it a name... it's not gonna need it for long."
"...Sometimes i really like how we're on the same page." Hunter looked down at the relic who was struggling against the magic ties.
"Time to talk Mr Relic... me and my charming friend have some questions for you.
And so ends another Chapter in the story of the Human and The Shadow :3 This one took a lot of deciding with like whether or not to kill off someone, who to kill and do I really want to let Finn be a vampire for the time being... Belle was always going to be someone who didn't make the past since she was always close to danger but never really aware of it like when she was in the Shade Kingdom when the crown went out of control. Feel kinda bad about how harshly she was killed but i think the impact to the characters will be important.
