Chapter 36: Have Fun Storming the Castle!

Last time, our heroes went to Lost Woods with Pendants of Virtue in tow to get the Master Sword. After some frustration, they finally found the Pedestal of Time that the Sword of Evil's Bane was kept in. While Link pulled the sword out to battle Ganondorf, Matt discovered a tool he deemed useful, but kept it a surprise. Now, they head back to Castle Town to attempt to smash the barrier.

Date: August 22, 2011, Time: 5:00 pm, Location: Hyrule Field (outside Castle Town)

"Hey, isn't that Impa?" Matt asked after spotting the royal servant waiting for them.

"Yeah. She's probably wondering about our progress." Link said. As they walked up to her, Matt noticed something was off.

"Ah, Link! Good to see you're safe. How goes the journey?"

"I have the Master Sword. We were just heading to the castle to break the barrier."

"Good to hear! By the way, I'm afraid you'll have a tough time reaching the castle."

"Uh, Link? I'm getting this feeling-"

"Why is that?"

"Hehehehehehehe! Because WE'RE here!" Two voices said. Suddenly, "Impa"'s cloak fell to the ground revealing 2 witches, 1 with ice-like hair & the other with a flame covered scalp. "Poor Impa may have thought she was clever, but we showed her her proper place!" the ice witch said.

"Who are you?" the Doctor asked.

"How nice of you to ask! I'm Koume & this is my twin sister Kotake." the fire witch said. "Now, Ganondorf doesn't want to be bothered. Begone!"

"What are you going to do? Nag us?" Sonic said.

"How rude! With my flame, I'll burn you to the bone!"

"With my frost, I'll freeze you to your soul!"

"Everyone! Get ready! These witches aren't messing around!" Matt yelled. With that, Koume unleashed a beam of fire towards Link. Link backflipped out of the way as Matt reflected it towards Kotake. "Gah- Why you! You need to cool down!" After recovering from the attack, Kotake then fired off a giant frost ball. Blaze counteracted with a fire tornado & then used it to rush toward the witch. Koume then fired a volley of fireballs at the other heroes. Matt, Mario, Luigi, Knuckles, & Sonic quickly jumped out of the way while Megaman summoned Beat to carry him, Tails flew, & Link used Nayru's Love (which Zelda taught him) to protect Rose & the Doctor while blocking with the Hylian Shield. "Hey Koume, can we switch? This cat is giving me a lot of trouble with her heat. She keeps melting my magic!"

"Honestly, all of these heroes are trouble. They're too quick!"

"I agree. Well, shall we?"

"With pleasure!"

"What are they talking about?" Sonic asked.

"Nothing good. That's for sure." Matt replied. Suddenly, the witches started circling each other. After they got within inches of each other, they disappeared in a flash of light. Once it went away, a giant woman with her left side having a icy aesthetic & the right side being fiery appeared. "Well, there goes this area's ecosystem."

"That's the least of our worries." Sonic said.

"So that's the dreaded Twinrova." Link said.

"Hope you're ready for some freezerburn!" Twinrova yelled as she fired both ice & fire at once. Mario & Blaze started on counteracting the ice blast while Matt & Megaman did the same with the fire. "Doctor, Rose, you two may want to stand back for this one!" As the four of them were blocking the magic with the opposite elements, Link & Luigi rushed toward the occupied witch. "Tch. This isn't very fair."

"This coming from the combination of two powerful witches that basically raised the King of Evil."

"Touché." Link & Luigi then gave Twinrova a nice mix of electricity & blade, finishing her.

"Is it me, or were only half of us useful in that fight?" Sonic said.

"They were elemental witches that could use a fusion dance. Kind of a specific type of enemy." Matt replied.

"Fair enough." After clearing up the leftover fire/ice residue, the heroes then entered Castle Town to infiltrate the overrun Hyrule Castle.
