The minutes soon passed and it was time for the two of them to set off and go to the first apartment. It was in the building opposite so they didn't have far to go at all. Piper took hold of Alex's hand after she'd locked up her apartment and the two set off.
"Oh please, I could have made you come at least twice in that amount of time!" Alex whispered into Piper's ear as they walked the short distance across the street.
"I know but I wanted it to be more special than just a quick fuck, okay?" Piper replied with a slight sigh. She wanted to start their new life together properly but Alex didn't seem to fully understand that. As always, she thought with her vagina rather than her head.
Holding up her arms in surrender, Alex dropped the subject and just continued to the building. The door man let them in and they walked straight up to the desk where there was a tall man in a deep grey suit who was clearly the estate agent. He glanced up from looking at his watch and smiled warmly.
"Piper! It's good to see you again," he said as the couple walked up to him. "This must be the wonderful Alex I've heard so much about."
"Yes, Colin, good to see you again," Piper replied with a smile. She'd spoken to him at his office to arrange the times for the different apartments that she and Alex wanted to view. It was easier to just have the same person to do the tours.
"Let's get going!"
Colin led the two to the elevator at the other side of the room and pressed number 5 which was the top floor of this building. When the doors opened when the ride was over, they were met with a small corridor that had two apartment doors leading from it. They were led to the left one. Colin opened it and they started to look around.
They knew as soon as they saw it that it wasn't the one for them. It was the exact size as Piper's apartment now and the only difference was the fact that there was a walk in wardrobe. Alex looked at Piper with a raised eyebrow and Piper looked at Colin and shook her head.
"We'll have another chance this afternoon," Colin said simply. He didn't look disheartened as he didn't particularly like this apartment himself.
He led Piper and Alex downstairs and then left them to get back to the office before he had to show them to the next apartment. Piper and Alex walked back to the apartment but Piper walked towards her car which confused Alex immensely.
"Where are you going?" Alex asked.
"We're going out for lunch, come on!" Piper replied and jumped into the car.
Grinning madly, Alex got into the other side and let Piper drive.
"I need a car myself now I'm out," Alex muttered as Piper drove. "One similar to this but better."
"I didn't pick it, my dad did," Piper reminded her with a laugh as she pulled up into the car park.
"Luigi's!" Alex cried. They had spent a fair amount of time here when they were together the first time before they started to jet off to all the different countries. "It's like a blast from the past!"
The two walked in and sat at their usual table and ordered their food with a Hawaiian pizza for Piper as usual and a peperoni pizza for Alex with a side of chips. They both ordered lemonades and waited patiently for their meal to arrive.
"I hope these next apartments are better," Piper muttered after taking a deep gulp of her drink.
"Same but you know what people say: it's hard to find the perfect apartment in New York," Alex replied. "We'll get there though. It may not be this weekend end, or next weekend with the wedding, but we'll get there. I can feel it!"
"You and your feelings," Piper said rolling her eyes but smiled to show that she was simply teasing her girlfriend. Alex kicked Piper lightly under the table as their pizzas arrived.
Once their pizzas were eaten, Piper paid and the two headed back to the car for the next two apartment viewings. The second apartment was much like the first, a similar size to Piper's and comfortable but they just couldn't seem themselves living there. The third was better but not by much. It had the two offices that they wanted but they heard the neighbours as they got out of the elevator and they didn't sound particularly friendly. Disheartened, Piper and Alex went back downstairs with Colin.
"We actually have one more apartment in this building that came on for sale today. It's a little bit more than what you were willing to pay but I believe it's worth it," Colin revealed.
"Let's go," Piper said. She had an infinite amount of money now and Alex still had a fair amount too as not all of it had been confiscated from her when she had been arrested. Some of it she had invested into different businesses that had boomed whilst she had been in prison.
Colin led them back to the lift, which was huge so they knew it wouldn't be a problem getting some of the furniture into the apartment and pressed the PH button. Alex and Piper looked at each other but smiled. They had considered penthouses when they first discussed apartments but they thought that it wasn't necessary.
The elevator ride was short and it opened up to a hall that only had one door coming off from it. Colin walked over to it and opened it with the key in his pocket as he had a hunch that they would want to look in it. As soon as the two stepped in, they knew that it was the one. It was so open with many windows letting the sun shine through.
Colin left them to just walk around and discover the place for themselves. There were at least five bedrooms. Obviously they didn't need all of them, not yet anyway. However, they knew they'd be holding parties and it gave them the opportunity for the parties to last longer if they had room to let people stay afterwards. There were two bathrooms, two separate toilet rooms and two en suites, one leading from the master bedroom and another from a second bedroom. There were two different spaces that screamed office for when the two of them needed to work.
The kitchen was large and had beautiful marble tops fit with a breakfast bar and dining table as well as another separate room that was a dining room in its own right. The final room that sold it to Alex and Piper was just beside the master bedroom. It was empty but huge and it was the perfect place for a library as the two of them had enough books to fill most of the room and they knew that Alex would be wanted to buy more now that she was out. They also had an extensive film collection that would probably take up part of it too.
"Al, I really want it," Piper said honestly as they were in the master bedroom. It had the perfect walk in wardrobe that was as big as the smallest bedroom. They wouldn't run out of space for a very long time and there was even a wall just dedicated to a shoe rack.
"I want it too," Alex replied.
The two walked to the living room to find Colin. "We'll take it," they said simultaneously.

It was a little difficult then as they wanted to move in as soon as they could but they didn't have any furniture to put into the new apartment with the furniture at Piper's apartment actually belonging to Piper's uncle. Therefore, they couldn't move in for a while. They signed the deeds and handed over the money so the place was officially there's and they could move in whenever.
As Alex was no longer obligated to work at Crawley's as her probation was up, she was free to do all of the furniture shopping which Piper detested. The only part she wanted to play way choosing their bed as she would be sleeping in it. In the past, she'd just let Alex choose as the brunette had an eye for interior design.
So they decided that while Piper worked, Alex would go out and shop but she would sent pictures to Piper of what she wanted to get for the blonde's approval. As she had with Lorna, Piper had bought Alex a phone for when she came out of the halfway house so Nicky would be able to contact her without having to use Piper or Lorna as a go between.
The Sunday night, the day after Alex had moved in, the two went to the new apartment to figure out the colour schemes they wanted in each room so it would be easier when Alex shopped. They decided to start in their bedroom as that was going to be where they spent the majority of their time.
"My old bedroom was red," Alex said as they went in. "How about going with something different? Something more us?"
"Just as long as it isn't orange," Piper replied with a smile as they remember back to their unattractive prison attire.
"What about blues and green?" Alex suggested, typing away on her phone to remember what she was saying. "We could have white furniture?"
Piper paused to ponder for a few moments before agreeing. "Yeah that sounds good."
The two then walked around the entire apartment going through pros and cons of colours to match the room. They decided to have each bedroom a different colour so when people stayed over they simply had to say 'purple room' and so forth. They decided to give each bathroom and toilet the same colours and the en suites were to have the same colours as the bedrooms they were with.
After a couple of hours, the two were planned out and went back to the other apartment. Piper threw her shoes into the corner and stripped off her jacket as soon as she stepped through the door and Alex followed her actions.
"I really cannot be bothered cooking," Piper sighed as she entered the kitchen. She looked through some of the cupboards and peeked into the fridge hoping to get some inspiration but it was to no avail.
"We can just order in?" Alex suggested as she walked up to the blonde, slipping her arms around her waist as she got closer. Piper leant back against her automatically.
"I'm going to get so fat if I keep getting takeout," she muttered.
"Well let's get some exercise before we order." Alex then leant down and kissed Piper's pulse point, biting at it slightly before pulling Piper into the bedroom.

Hours later, the two were found in bed, completely naked, panting for breath and spent. They had a small layer of sweat sparkling on their skin. Piper was flat on her back whereas Alex was on her side just gazing as the blonde as she always did, just admiring her.
"Why do you always stare at me after we fuck?" Piper asked once she was able to speak again. She reached out a hand and ran it up and down Alex's chest, occasionally looping around her nipple. When she did that, Alex's eyes would flutter making Piper grin triumphantly.
"I just like looking at you," Alex replied before shuffling forward and kissing Piper. Things started to get heated again when Piper's stomach rumbled. "I'll go order dinner."
Alex hopped out of the bed and walked into the kitchen to grab a menu and order. Knowing Alex wouldn't be back for a little while, while she decided what to order for them, Piper headed into the bathroom to start up the shower.
She'd just got the temperature right and stepped in when she felt someone enter the shower behind her. Moments later, Alex's body was pressed up against Piper's and her hands immediately started wandering. Piper span round so that she could face Alex and attempt to take control but it was hopeless. Alex closed the small space between them and pressed Piper against the wall before crouching in front of her. Lifting Piper's leg slowly, Alex placed it over her shoulder to get better access before leaning forward and licking tentatively at Piper's clit. "Something smells good," Piper commented as she walked in. She looked into the box and saw that there was enough food to last them the week. "How much did you spend?"
"Not that much actually," Alex replied with a shrug. "Some just came with a few different parts."
For the starter, Alex had order duck pancakes and each part came separately so they could make their own. There was a bag of pancakes, a box with the duck in and a tub of the sauce. She had also ordered bbq ribs too. There was of course the normal delivery of prawn crackers too.
After the starter had been demolished, Alex had ordered herself the chicken and pineapple with fried rice and had got Piper her chicken noodles.
"I'll let you pick from now on," Piper said as she ate.
"I love you too, by the way," Alex replied with a smile. Piper looked confused for a few moments before she remembered declaring her love for her girlfriend in the shower.
"As you should." Piper smirked as she ate and Alex just smiled.

The next morning felt normal but somewhat different for Piper. She was going to be doing everything that she normally did, like getting dressed, meeting Lorna and heading to work but this time, she woke up next to Alex and wouldn't be meeting her at work, nor would Alex be at work.
"I'm going to miss you today," Piper revealed at the breakfast table. "I've got so used to you being around and I'm going to have to do it myself now."
"I'm sure you'll cope," Alex replied with a laugh and a wink.
"Where are you starting?" Piper asked after taking a sip of her tea as she knew Alex wasn't going to be wasting any time for shopping for their apartment.
"I'm going to head to the bank first and sort out a couple of my accounts," Alex said. "I have to combine a couple together and then shut some and open another. It's going to be fun but once that is all done, I'll be able to go shopping."
"I can give you my credit card too so we're paying equally. We'll have to sort out a joint bank account at some point. I can't go today though as I've got three meetings to attend."
"We don't have to do that yet though."
Alex was cut off from talking as the doorbell went signifying that Lorna had arrived ready to go to work with Piper. Piper stood from the table to go let her in while Alex sorted out the breakfast dishes by putting them into the dishwasher and rinsing out the glasses.
"Good morning, Alex!" Lorna greeted as she stepped into the kitchen. "Ready for your first day as a free woman?"
"I can't wait," Alex replied honestly, "It's just going to be super busy. Hey, Pipes, can I borrow your car?"
"Sure," Piper said. "Is it okay if we go in yours?" Piper asked Lorna.
"Yeah, of course."
Piper then passed Alex her key and kissed her sweetly before the three of them headed outside to the garage. Piper kissed Alex again before following Lorna to her car so they could start the day, which turned out slightly differently than what they had expected.
