Daddy's Little Princess
Found
Once Ginny was out in the open she began running across the grass, she had seen a little dot moving in the sky above the Quidditch pitch and she didn't want Harry leaving before she caught up to him.
She ran down the dark lawn to the Quidditch stadium, turned through a gap in the stands, and walked out onto the pitch. Harry was still in the air flying circles. He hadn't seen her yet, she was about to shout out to him to land, when doubt began rising up in her.
She turned back around and walked into the Gryffindor changing rooms, she walked straight through and entered the Captains office. On the back wall were a few old broomsticks hanging beneath photos of grinning Cup winners.
She grabbed the newest model and ignored the scandalised look of Oliver Wood.
Walking back as quickly as possibble, she returned to the pitch with a hammering heart, she looked up into the sky and released a breath, Harry was still there.
She mounted the broom and shot up into the sky.
She waited till she was on the same level as Harry before she called out his name.
He stilled in the air, but he didn't look at her.
"Harry please." He still refused to turn around, but he acknowledged her presence.
"Why are you here?"
"Isn't that obvious, my brothers told me what happened and I needed to see that you are fine."
"Well you saw me, you can go back now." He told her flatly and flew further down the pitch.
Ginny growled in annoyance. She leaned forward on the broom and sprinted after him.
She was quickly getter closer to him, but he realised that she was following him and accelerated.
Well if he wanted to play, then so be it. She could be stubborn as a hippogriff.
His broom was faster then hers, but it was still light enough outside to see him clearly, so when she saw his shoulders move in preparation for a quick u-turn she cut across his path and blocked his way. He looked startled and turned around again, she followed and the same thing happened twice more, before he stopped his broom and sighed.
"You're not going to leave, are you?"
She simply stared back at him and fidgeted a little on the broom.
"Could we land? I think the cushioning charm is starting to wear of on this old thing?" She asked with a grimace.
He nodded and turned his broom downwards. Ginny once again followed him and waited for him to dismount, before she put her feet on the ground.
She let the broom fall down next to Harry's and watched him walk around restlessly for a bit, before she reached out for his hands.
"Harry, talk to me, please."
He looked down.
"What is there to talk about? The death eaters attacked and we fought back."
"If it is so easy, why are you out here all alone?"
"Just needed some air, I haven't been flying for a while." He still wasn't looking her in the eyes.
"Harry, I know, okay?" He took a step back and folded his arms across his chest.
"You know what, exactly?" He asked with a hint of fear in his voice.
She tried to reach out for his hands again, but he took another step backwards.
"I know about Greyback, your Dad told me that he died." Harry looked up startled and for a second their eyes met and she could see the pain and sadness in them.
"Harry, that could have happened to anyone."
"No, it couldn't, it didn't." He shook his head.
"Well what is the alternative then? If he refused to surrender, you have to keep on fighting or you would be the dead one now." Ginny didn't really want to think about that, but it was the sickening truth.
"My family told me the same thing, but you don't understand, none of you do."
"Make me understand then."
He shook his head again and his eyes scanned the ground, she blocked his way to the brooms.
"Tell me, please." She begged with tears in her eyes.
"You don't know me, Gin. I'm not innocent, he is not the first that died during a fight with me, but It was different this time."
"What do you mean? What was different?"
"I..." His hands rubbed over his eyes and went into his hair.
He took a deep breath and looked over her head.
"I wanted to kill him. He was goading me, most of them do and at first I tried to subdue him, but he kept antagonizing me, he said, he would... and I...I just..."
"What did he say, Harry?" She asked gently, but he shook his head.
"I killed him, because I wanted to." He kept stealing a glance at her. "I killed him, although I didn't have to, Gin."
She didn't know what to say. What was one supposed to say in a situation like this?
Was he a murderer now? He had killed a man, he had admitted that.
"I understand if you want to end things now, I wouldn't want me around Gwen either, it's okay, just let me say good-bye to her, please."
She slowly walked closer to him and he stayed where he was, she uncrossed his arms and put them around herself. There were tears in his eyes as well and that was all the evidence she needed that Harry was not an evil person.
She put her hand on his cheek and drew his face down to hers, so she could press a kiss to his cold lips.
"Listen to me, Harry. You are not a bad person and I'm not leaving you. We are not leaving you."
"You're not?" He asked and really looked into her eyes for the first time that night.
"No and you aren't allowed to leave either, got it?" He nodded and buried his head into her neck, his arms tighthened his hold on her and she could feel his breath tickling her skin.
She waited till he pulled back from the embrace and ordered him to sent a patronus to his mum. Once the silver wolf was on his way she hit the back of his head for worrying his family.
Enjoy!
