Working on more chapter. :)

Jack's patience was almost gone. The Master had been running a scan for nearly an hour with absolutely no results and he was beginning to think that the other Time Lord was trying to buy time. Maybe his story about Rose being taken was just that…a story. Some concoction to keep them busy while the Master tried to come up with an exit plan. A way out of there.

"I've had just about enough of his," Jack snapped, raising his blasters and pointing them at the Mater.

"Jack," the Doc said, warningly. "He's trying to find her."

"Is he? Because I don't think he is."

"Then you're more of an idiot than I thought," the Master snapped as he turned a dial on the console.

"I think you're lying about the whole thing."

"I'm not."

"Yeah, so you say, but that's all we have is your word and you haven't been exactly honest in the past."

"Jack," the Doc tried, but he eyed the Time Lord.

The Doc might be his friend, but this was Rosie. Jack had to leave her behind once he wasn't about to do it again.

"And why're you so quick to believe him? You know what he's done. What he's capable of."

"Because I know he wouldn't let Rose out of his sight," the Doc said.

"Unless he has her tied up somewhere or chained up or worse."

"I wouldn't leave her," the Master said and something in his voice seemed to draw the Doc's attention.

"Sorry?" the Time Lord asked, rounding on the other man.

"I wouldn't just leave her on her own."

Jack snorted.

"He sounds like…" he trailed off catching the look in the Doc's eyes. A very dangerous look.

"What did you do to her?" the Doc demanded.

There was a dangerous edge to the Time Lord's voice, but the Master turned, eying the Doc, angrily.

"I didn't do anything to her. I wouldn't-"

"What're these?" Jack growled, something on the console floor caught his eye and he bent down and picked them up.

Handcuffs. Why would…he turned a withering gaze on the Master, but before he could open his mouth the Doc closed the distance between himself and the other Time Lord. He backed the Master against the console.

"What did you do?" the Time Lord growled.

There was a dangerous edge to his voice. One that Jack hadn't heard before and was more than a little frightening.

"Nothing I…" the Master glanced at the handcuffs and then back to the Doc and Jack could see fear in the other Time Lord's eyes. "I only used them as a precaution."

"Precaution?"

"She tried to kill me. I had to restrain her."

Jack smiled. Good old Rosie. She must've gotten hold of a gun and tried to shoot the Master. Not that he liked the idea of her killing anyone, but this was the Master, not some innocent person.

"How?" the Doc asked, leaning dangerously close to the other Time Lord.

"Doc, I think it's obvious-"

"She has…abilities," the Master said, in a way that told Jack he'd rather not say.

"What do you mean?" the Doc asked, and there was worry in his voice, but it was below the anger.

"She tried to burn my mind."

Burn his…what? How could she even do that?

"How did you stop it?"

"I developed a device, a sort of psychic dampening field."

"And you made her wear it? This device you created."

The Doc looked ready to rip the other Time Lord's head off with his bare hands. Jack was starting to worry. Not that he'd mind finishing off the Master, hell, he'd do that himself, but he'd never seen the Doc this angry before.

"I had to. She tried to kill me," the Master protested.

"Did you even think about what that might do to her?" The Doc yelled. "No, of course not because you don't think about anyone, but yourself."

"What the hell are you talking about? It didn't harm her."

"Her abilities are still developing. You can't dampen them while they're developing. You know that."

"I…well, I didn't have a choice."

"Jack," the Doc ordered, glancing at the handcuffs and then eyeing him.

Jack didn't have to be told. He grabbed the Master, hauled him over to the jump seat, pushed him down, and cuffed him to the rail.

"Wait. What the hell are you doing? You can't leave me like this. I've got to find her."

"No," the Doc said. "I'll find her. We'll save her and then I'll figure out what I'm going to do with you, but you…" the Doc crossed the room eyeing the Master in a way that made Jack's blood run cold. "You will never go anywhere near her again. I'll make sure of that."

The Doc turned around and walked to the console, continuing the scan.

"You'll have to kill me then," the Master said.

The Doc didn't answer, but the look the Time Lord shot the other man told Jack he was thinking the same thing.
