Author's Note: I randomly selected one of my ships to write a Valentine's Day fic for, and Westsuna ended up being the lucky winner! And thus, I wrote this oneshot.

Fever

Continuity: Fresh

Characters: Setsuna Higashi, Westar

Summary: Even the mighty can fall to something as simple as a cold.

The sensation of something cool on her forehead was what caused Setsuna to gradually drift out of her slumber. As her eyes briefly began to flicker open, she paused for a moment, taking some times to get her bearings.

"Oh, you're awake?"

The familiar voice caused Setsuna to turn her head slightly towards it, blinking a bit as her blurred vision, still distorted with sleep, began to clear up. Though she opened her mouth to respond, what came out instead was a loud cough, causing the man who had spoken her to panic slightly.

"Don't push yourself, Setsuna! You're sick after all." Westar heaved a small sigh, looking down at the purple haired girl. She had been late for work, which was unusual- worried that something had happened, especially after she didn't pick up the phone, he had hurried back to her apartment to check up on her. Seeing her collapsed on the floor of her apartment was a shock, to be sure- but thankfully, the doctor had said that it was only a cold, made somewhat worse by overworking.

He'd suspected it for awhile, but whenever he had tried to bring it up with her, Setsuna had quickly denied any such thing when he asked after it. He didn't want to force her either- he knew how important helping to rebuild Labyrinth was something that was critically important to her.

After today, he thought he would be a little more strict with Setsuna. Working hard was fine, but to the point of collapsing? That wasn't good at all!

"S-sick?" Setsuna managed to speak up this time, sniffing loudly. "I'm not that..." But even as she protested, a cough racked her body again, causing her to relent. "Maybe a little sick."

"The doctor's already come and gone." Westar said, glancing over at the medicine he'd left on the table. "He said you need to rest in bed for at least the next couple of days. No going out- and no work, more importantly."

"But, I have so much left to do back at the-" Setsuna opened her mouth, but he wasn't having any of it, and cut her off, shaking his head.

"I know that rebuilding Labyrinth is important to you, Setsuna, but not at the expense of your health." He told her, giving her a gentle smile. "Love and the others would be worried sick about you if something happened. You can't just push yourself like this."

"But if I'm not around, all that work falls on you and Soular..." Setsuna frowned a little, not seeming entirely convinced.

"That's alright!" Westar beamed, his smile brightening. "If nothing else, I have my good health, and a lot of stamina besides that! As for Soular... well, he's Soular, you know. Anyways, what's important for you now is to rest, Setsuna! I won't listen to any protests!"

After a moment, the purple haired girl left out a small sigh, glancing up towards Westar. "...Alright. You win this round, Westar. I'll play a good patient for the next few days."

"Good." He nodded his head, getting to his feet. "Now, your medicine says to take it with food, so I whipped something up for you in the kitchen. I called Momozono-san about recipes to feed to sick people, and she recommended this porridge as something she always gave to Love whenever she was sick." He told her. "So it should do the trick!"

"You can make things other donuts?" Setsuna couldn't help but blink, rather surprised by this information.

"Of course I can! I've been getting into cooking and stuff lately, after all!" Westar beamed, before flinching, as if he realized too late that he had just revealed something he didn't mean to. Giving her a slightly awkward laugh, his grin quickly turned sheepish. "Well, I was going to sort of surprise you with lunch one day, but I guess the cat's out of the bag now..."

Perhaps it was for the best that she already had a fever, otherwise the red that crept into her cheeks would have surely given her away. "I-I see." Setsuna found herself stammering, instinctively pulling up her covers to cover her flustered face. "W-well, I'm flattered to hear that, Westar. Thank you."

"Well, I'll still make that lunch for you, of course!" Westar said quickly, his own cheeks turning a bit red- was he catching her cold? "A-anyways, I'll go heat up that porridge again right quick, and bring it over here! You just rest there for now, Setsuna! I'll be right back in just a minute, but call if you need anything!"

"Y-yes." Setsuna nodded her head, smiling a bit underneath her covers. As terrible as she felt- maybe Westar had a point about taking care of herself a little better- somehow, she was already feeling a little better.
