I hope you guys are ready for a big surprise because I have planned at least 11 Chapters ahead which means five or six more Chapters will follow this one sooner than the others X3 I cannot believe I have come this far and it is because of you guys that I have come this far so this Chapter is special to me X3

Chapter XXXVII – No Longer a Fantaisie

The White tigress had long been awake, she just hadn't opened her eyes or even got to the point of getting up and yawning. Practice sessions had dragged for so long she couldn't possibly get enough sleep, or actually sleep well enough to continue but she made a promise and she would keep it… though, it didn't hurt for her to sleep in for a few minutes. Did it?

The tigress opened one blue eye to find herself outside, just as she was left the night before. Her senses finally coming in, she had noticed soft but dirty fur from the corner of her eye. Turning her head almost groggily, she saw that the gold cub in between her paws was snoring blissfully, unaware that it was morning. She frowned as if that very thought bothered her, which it did. Were the grownups also pressuring the cubs as well?

If that was the case, did that mean that the elders of the Circus had no hope of winning or even getting Safi back? They had won this competition year after year, for how long she forgot, and Safi was their leader during all those times, it was she who can pull them through even through the hardest hardships. Was she doing something wrong to make the others think that she had no way of doing so? Their last show had gotten them in Third Place, usually, themes like Holiday were always in the bag, they had always won those… was it her absence during those practice sessions to Zaragoza the reason?

She huffed. She was so lost. She didn't even know why Safi choose her to lead, why not Rita? The white lioness was as close to Safi as anyone could get… maybe she could get Rita to be the leader for now, after all, the lioness was much experienced in Circus matters than she was, that and she'd rather have her than Kidogo be the leader, he doesn't know much about leading a Circus. Safi had once told her that and the young tigress felt the same, he was too pushy and never listened to anyone, he always thought he was right, at everything.

Sighing to herself, the tigress laid her head onto the cub's soft back, she knew it didn't bother him, the cub was too deep in a sleep to notice anything, if his snores can give a good hint about that. It was daunting, this whole plot of kidnapping Safi and finding her. Absolutely no one was doing anything, she had voiced her opinions to Kidogo who merely told her that as long as they win, they will give her up soon, but something told Saffy that it would not go that way. Not with how it is…

Well, her constant fumbling should not worry the cubs, they have no idea how serious the situation would be… could be.

She did not hear the soft yawns and grumblings coming out of the tent and clearing the opening. Rita gasped to see the tigress and the young cub there, sleeping or… she bobbed her head to the side, resting? Yeah, they were resting, probably.

"Vell, I vas vondering vere you two were at" she piped, earning a yawn from the tigress who turned her head. "I thought you visit Zaragoza last night" she continued. The white tigress yawned once again.

"No, we stayed outside. As much as I would have liked to go, we couldn't, it's too risky" The blue-eyed feline eyed her brother for a bit before looking back at the albino lioness in front of her. "Rita…"

"Hmmm?" the lioness took a seat next to the feline and smiling as the cub turned around and had his leg pushing Saffy's muzzle away, which she didn't seem to mind.

"Iggy told me something last night… he feels… lonely"

"But of course he does, Sandra is alvays getting the other cubs to start practicing-"

"That that kind of lonely Rita, he thinks Safi ran away because she hates him" The white lioness looked at her with shock before eyeing the cub as he slept. Really, the drool coming out of his mouth did not seem as if he was in any state of loneliness. The white lioness looked at Safi with quite a confused glance. The tigress said nothing more and Rita chose not to push her for it, the young tigress had enough to face.

Rita's mind became overwhelmed with Diamond's threat and blackmail, seeing Iggy sleeping soundly in his sister's arms, Rita wanted nothing more than to put him somewhere safe where Diamond cannot get to him, even more, she wanted to tell Saffy. She was sure that the while lion had not shown his true colors to the tigress, and she was not sure if the lion had made any attempts to seduce her. He probably has with his ways but maybe… she looked at Saffy. Maybe she did know…

Just as suddenly as the white lioness came, Saffy had gotten ahold of the scruff of Iggy's neck softly, enough not to wake him and to hold a grip for a matter of seconds. Instantly when the cub was up from her paws, Saffy settled the cub in between Rita's paws. The lioness looked at the other white female curiously before Saffy looked over at the tent, now awake and fully functional, the sound of equipment and hungry roars of the other animals could be heard.

"Well I best be on my way. I have to get more acquainted with Diamond before something else happens, take care of Iggy for me?" she asked the lioness, walking towards the entrance, and disappearing through the curtains. Rita looked down once more at the sleeping cub, nothing but dread forming in her stomach.

"I am so sorry Iggy, but I cannot put you or anyone else in the Circus in danger… I just hope Saffy realizes his true colors soon"

When Saffy entered the tent, she had more or less of an idea on what she would face. Animals went left and right with their trainers, acknowledging her presence and giving her a good morning before going back to their own duties.

She figured that they were no longer in the feeding tent, that breakfast was already over, but some felines, like Artica, knew she would be late, which she usually was, and had gotten extra food, not to eat but to deliver it to her and Iggy's bowl. She was hungry but hunger could wait for what she needed to do.

Many of the things stirring in the tent she expected, what she did not expect was most of the feline population minus Artica, Rita, Sandra and Saffy herself, had made a huge circle right around her supposed fiancé. They laughed at whatever he said and gave him very sappy glances and fluttered their eyes at him. Saffy did not feel bothered by it, they always did that whenever a male came.

Unknown to Saffy, Diamond had laid eyes on her the instant she came through the tent and expected a very harsh and angry reaction when she caught the sight of him surrounded by other felines, prettier and uglier than her. But seeing her waste not even so much as a shrug interested the white lion. So many other of his feline mates were quite the jealous type and would chase off any other female from him, not that he complained, all that attention would surely ruin her chances and he liked the idea of being wanted by so many, enough for them to get angry and fight for the right.

He expected the same thing with the Tigress, but she didn't even faze or contort to silent rage. She didn't even care. He would be lying if he said, no, thought that this did not puzzle him, for it did.

He watched her as she made her way around the other lionesses, being careful not to step on anyone, which also puzzled him as the other mates who were silent enough for their reactions did whatever they can to make a point, like step on tails or nip harshly at any one of her rivals. Seeing her being so- civilized made Diamond wonder. Hardly any females refused his charms, only some were smart enough to be wary of him but she was not wary, but neither did she seem all that interested in him. Why was that? Most puzzling.

"Excuse me, Diamond?" she asked, the white lion noted that there were no sign of shyness or even nervousness, just what exactly was going on here? The white lion nodded his head.

"Yes?"

"May I speak with you? Alone. I'd like to get to know my fiancé better, wouldn't you?" Diamond smiled and ignored the immature groans and the whining of the other ladies for Saffy to wait until later and for Diamond not to get up. It was not until one of them grabbed his mane did he turn on his fans.

"Listen here you hissycats! I have important matters to discuss with Saffy; obviously small brains such as yours cannot comprehend the nature and importance of leadership" He snarled at them, causing some of the felines to look down in shame and causing others to gasp. Saffy frowned slightly. That was beyond rude and uncalled for; all he needed to do was tell them to stop. Instead of speaking her mind, Saffy merely ignored it and started to walk away, to a private tent where all of the Circus meetings took place and where they made decisions on themes and acts for each animal.

He was tense throughout the walk, as if he was preparing for something but Saffy did not know what and she could not feel the slight ping of… wariness. He did not seem so bad but something about this lion really set her instincts off, she did not know what, but it was not good. It was quite the opposite.

Once they were safely in the tent, Diamond had relaxed and sat on a plush seat, ignoring Saffy for a while before he finally sighed.

"Thank you for rescuing me from those cats. They were quite annoying" Saffy had made herself comfortable on her own plush seat before eyeing the male quizzically.

"Annoying? You seem to enjoy the attention from afar" she immediately regretted saying that out loud. Saffy bit her lip and expected for the lion to react quite offended but the white lion merely shrugged it off.

"I did at first, but then they started to ask me too many questions and never gave me the chance to answer fully. That is quite annoying, wouldn't you think so?" Saffy, to save her the embarrassment, did actually start to think it over. Yeah, whenever Iggy or any of the cubs asked her too many questions and interrupted her answers, she would get quite annoyed and call for Rita to take over.

All the while, Diamond had grown bored of feeling how nice his spot was and, instead, started to focus the remainder of his time at looking over his future mate. Not a lot of felines were white, and he certainly liked them, they could related to being wanted and revered by the others, so he found them more of a, oh, how could he put it? Oh yes, a delicacy to his life. They were rare, and whenever he had a rare mate, well, he'd be a lot nicer to her, unless she was a real foul mouthed hissycat.

He would regain control then. But she, she was unique, yes he had mated to tigresses before but never had he seen a white tigress. If that was how white tigresses look like then they are a real handsome breed they are. She was muscular and strong, not to mention young, he smiled. Very young.

He suddenly got up, surprising the tigress. He nodded his head, as if to tell her that everything was alright. He circled the tigress, continuing to look her over. Saffy found this sudden interest in her features sort of… weird, though she could not keep the blush from appearing on her face. Diamond was a handsome individual and to see him take interest in a girl like her, well, it was every feline's dream coming true.

"Interesting. Simply marvelous!" he commented. Saffy gulped.

"What is?"

"You, my dear, what else? You are unique among your own species and among my past mates. While the others are very girly and far too feminine for their own good, your features are more rugged and tough. I haven't had a mate like that yet. Oh yes, you will be very fun, indeed" this made Saffy's while face redden. As much as she hated to admit it, she liked the compliments he gave her. Not even Vitaly every complimented her like that, Safi always did say she looked to tough for a female her age. She just laughed it off then… now…

She shook her head. She was not going to bend to him just because he complimented her, not, Vitaly had even done more than that to win a place in her heart and she will not cheat him out of it just because this lion was more… pretty.

"Th-thank you" she answered, trying to hide her face. Seeing his new mate's hesitation, Diamond smiled. Oh, she was just toying with him. Yes, now he understood. She was professional but alone she was as cruel as seduction as he was. Oh how marvelous! He smiled, canines showing. He liked this game.

He came closer and rubbed his head against her flanks, causing the tigress to nearly jump up in shock. Diamond did not mind, it was he who owned this game, he would just have to teach her that in a little while.

The more he rubbed against her, the more nervous Saffy felt. He knew this lion had many more experiences with lionesses but she never knew he would be so blunt about it, and on the second meeting too. She looked around in vain to find an excuse; she could not do this with him. No she would not. It was not right to her. She could not betray Vitaly like this. No no no!

"SAFFY!" she heard a familiar cub howl. Saffy wanted to sigh and laugh with glee, she had her excuse. She was about to get up and run until she felt Diamond dibbling her neck.

"The cub can wait, dear" he cooed, nipping her ear.

"SAFFYYYYYYYYYYY!" the cub called again, this time, a notable ruckus being made outside of the private tent. Using Diamond's momentary pause, she immediately bolted from her position on her seat and caused Diamond to fall forward onto his face. She flinched.

"S-Sorry, Iggy looks like he really needs me now" she apologized quickly before running out of the tent and looked around for the nearest animal to run to and ask Iggy's whereabouts. Meanwhile, Diamond had gotten up from his comical position on the dirt, rubbing his muzzle gently.

"Oww" he whined, rubbing his nose. After the pain had subsided, the white lion slashed the dirt and scoffed. "You almost had her, Diamond. Now look what has happened! She ran off! You weren't convincing enough!" he scolded himself. "You need to practice to keep her there until you are finished with your work!" he said again, this time cleaning the dirt from his face in a nearby mirror.

The tigress had caught up to Iggy, who she found was still yawning and using the majority of his strength to call her. Rita had the cub on her head and looked at Saffy, who seemed quite shaken up but relieved. She raised an eyebrow at her and noticed how the white tigress refused to look at her and focused her attention on the cub that brought her his breakfast and hers as well, to share an evening with his sister.

Saffy laughed and conversed with the cub, leaving Rita out. But the lioness did not mind it when she found Diamond coming out the same tent she had seen Saffy come through. The lioness froze, barely able to contain her own rage. Something had happened in there and, whatever it was, it was enough to get Saffy far more nervous than she had looked in years.

The lion, catching her look, merely smirked and walked away, followed by a large group of fancats. She noticed Saffy taking notice of him and shyly looking away from his gaze. Rita glared at her. He didn't…

When the cub had run off to play with the other cubs, Rita had immediately gone to the tigress' side.

"I know vat he tried to do" she whispered to Saffy's ear, making the tigress blush and look down shamefully. "Don't feel zat way. Make sure he does not ever try zat again, he not your type and I know how much you vould like Vitaly here, and how much he vants you over zere" the tigress, instead of speaking, merely nodded. Rita smirked, "If Vitaly ever finds out what he tried to do to you, he'll rip his mane out".

So yeah, this Chapter takes on a more, dramatic and somewhat mature turn here. I honestly never thought I had t add something like this on this fic but I guess that is what happens when you watch too many different types of movies for one whole year. They take effect in your writing and change it XD

I thank you all for still reviewing and I would like to thank everyone for doing so and rewarding this early fic. I had planned 11 Chapters already, so that may be like 5 or 6 more Chapters coming as early as this. Thanks to many of you who emailed me and gave me ideas to use in the future X3

Also, I wanted to make some things clear if you ever feel like emailing me.

1) Please do not ask what will happen next. It gets annoying that you want to find out more about the Chapter than others, it makes me think of you that you think you are more than special.

2) Just give me ideas, as many as you'd like but I will never guarantee that I will use it unless I say it and it may not even be in the next Chapters I write, it may be at the very end, but when I say I will use it I WILL USE IT.

Also! For BeckyDR who helpfully pointed out that the Hindi phrase Saffy had said earlier in the fic is actually Russian- I am sorry to correct you that it is in fact, neither. I used a translator to write that long ago, as I cannot write or speak Hindi. After I read your review, I used it both ways (Russian and Hindi) on three different translators and only the Hindi worked somewhat more than the Russian one did. While a few of the phrases couldbe altered and changed to be Russian, it only needed one accent and phrase to change for it to be Hindi. However, since I no longer remember what I wrote the phrase to mean in English and since the Hindi translator I used to use does not work anymore (It is long outdated), I will rewrite it and make sure it works will with several different translators and if I cannot get it to work I will change that part entirely.

Anyways, thank you for bringing that to my attention, I will definitely look into that ^^
