I'm sorry about the wait. I've been sick with the flu and was unable to write much, but now I am better and able to now. I'm sorry if this chapter isn't good. I was mostly sick while writing it.
I have been thinking that this story is close to an end. Maybe five or seven chapters left. It might even be less than that, but it's hard to tell.
My head was killing me along with my body. My bones ached and it felt like my wirsts, and legs were bound by something. What happened? Where am I?
I opened my eyes to see that I was in a dark cave that was barely lit by torches hanging on the sides of the wall. I tried to sit up, but I couldn't use my arms or hands as they were behind my back. That's when I remembered what had happened.
"S-Sesshomaru!" I shouted hoping he would be able to hear me.
"Shut up, that dog won't be coming to save." a rough voice next to me spat, "No one can survive in this forest, especially if Master Satsugai-sha don't want them too."
I glared at the old man who was standing close by.
"Sesshomaru will survive." I told him, "No one can defeat him."
The old man chuckled a humorless laugh.
"Is that so? You will see girl. I've been serving Satsugai-sha for many years now and I have never seen anyone survive going through this forest." he said and walked away.
I had faith in Sesshomaru. He will defeat Satsugai-sha and come find me. But for the time being I had to cut these ropes and try to escape. I won't be useless and just sit here!
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Come on! You're a demon! You can do this! You're strong! I told myself as I tried to break the ropes with my strength.
I heard them begin to break, but I stopped when I heard footsteps coming. I looked to see Satsugai-sha.
"Can't believe that dog was able to escape." Satsugai-sha grumbled as he picked me up by the collar of my shirt, "But I have a new wife!"
"I hate to break it to you, but I am married." I told him as I glared at the demon.
The demon smacked my face. My eyes went wide as I wasn't expecting that.
"No! You are my wife now! Your husband left you!" he shouted and dropped me onto the ground. This time I landed on my bottom.
"Stay here. You need to be punished." he said and walked off.
I muttered a curse and began to try, and break the ropes again. When the ropes around my feet broke. I stood up and began to run for the exit.
However, before I could even see the light at the end, I was stopped by Satsugai-sha. He threw a punch at me, but I dodged it.
"You are my wife now! You will stay and do as I say!" he shouted like a spoiled child.
"No, I won't!" I growled angrily at him.
Satsugai-sha tackled me to the ground and placed his hands over my throat. He began squeeze my neck tightly making it hard to brearh. Dark spots began to appear in my vision.
"Why won't you obey me!?" he growled.
Because I had no master.
"I-If I was t-truly your wife, t-then you wouldn't be t-treating me this w-way." I told him.
"But you need to be punished. You tried to escape!" he growled tighting his hold on my neck.
"Satsugai-sha! There are intruders entering the forest!" the old man from earlier shouted.
Satsugai-sha let go of my neck and stood up.
"Chain her up, I'll deal with the intruders." he said and walked away as I coughed and took in deep breaths.
~Third Person P.O.V~
"This forest is creepy." Shippo said as he walked behind Kagome.
"No kidding. I hope it doesn't take us too long to get through here." Kagome said as she followed Inuyasha with Miroku and Sango walking close behind them.
"We should becareful here. I heard tales of a demon that kills anyone who enters this forest." Miroku informed them.
"Are you sure about that?" Inuyasha asked the monk, "Because I'm picking up Sesshomaru's scent and I know that bastard won't die by some forest demon."
"Are you picking up Kaori's scent also?" Kagome asked him hoping to see her friend.
Inuyasha sniffed the air and nodded his head.
"Yeah, but I'm picking up someone elses scent with hers also." Inuyasha said as he looked around.
"Do you know who it is?" Kagome asked him and he shook his head.
"Who ever it is, doesn't smell friendly." Inuyasha said as something jumped out of some bushes.
Inuyasha pulled his sword out and quickly blocked the attack.
"What's your problem!?" Inuyasha shouted at his older half-brother as the two glared at each other.
"I thought you were someone else." he said as he began to walk away.
"Where is Kaori?" Kagome shouted to the demon causing him too stop.
"I do not know." he said and was about to start walking when something could be heard stomping through the forest.
Sesshomaru pulled his sword out as the others got ready to fight whatever it was.
Satsugai-sha appeared out of no where glaring at Sesshomaru and the others.
"How dare you try and get through my forest!?" he shouted angrily at them, "Oh? What is this? You're back! My wife will be so glad to hear that."
Sesshomaru jumped at Satsugai-sha quickly and started slashing at him.
"What have you done with Kaori!?" he growled.
"My wife is at home safe and sound." Satsugai-sha said and punched Sesshomaru.
The dog demon flew into a tree causing it to snap in half.
"She is not your wife." he said.
"You're right. She won't be until I kill you." Satsugai-sha said and picked up a stone, "Which I shall do now!"
"Wind scar!" Inuyasha shouted swinging his sword at the demon.
The stone broke in half and fell to the ground.
"No one can kill this bastard, except for me." Inuyasha growled and began to fight the demon.
"I do not need your help." Sesshomaru told his brother as he also fought with Satsugai-sha.
"I'm not helping you." Inuyasha told him and swung his sword at the demon, but Satsugai-sha was able to dodged it.
Satsugai-sha was about swipe at Inuyasha, but Kagome shot an arrow at his hand.
"Ahhh!" Satsugai-sha cried out in pain as he held his hand.
Sesshomaru took that as his chance and slashed his left arm off. Satsugai-sha cried out more and began to change his form into a beast like creature.
"Ahh! He's scary, Kagome." Shippo cried hidding behind the teenager after seeing Satsugai-sha's blood red eyes and sharp pointy teeth.
"I will destroy you!" he shouted and swiped again at Inuyasha.
Inuyasha tried to dodged it, but was too slow. Satsugai-sha's claws digged into Inuyasha's shoulder and tossed him away. Sesshomaru ran up behind him and brought his sword down, but Satsugai-sha jumped out of the way.
"I can not be defeated by weaklings like you!" he laughed as Sango ran at him with her weapon.
Satsugai-sha laughed, dodged her attack and tossed her out of the way.
"Is this all you can do?" he asked grinning as Sesshomaru attacked him again, "I do not see why she would had married you? You can not even protect her."
Sesshomaru tightened his grip on his sword and glared at the demon before him. His eyes became red and the wind around him began to pick up.
Sesshomaru ran at Satsugai-sha quickly and began to swing his sword left and right. He moved quickly making it hard for Satsugai-sha to block or dodge it.
And with a final strike Satsugai-sha fell to the ground dead. Sesshomaru looked at the dead demon before walking away following the scent of his wife.
"Sesshomaru! Wait!" Kagome shouted, but he did not listen.
He kept walking, until he reached a cave.
"What does the master see in you?" A rough voice spat as Sesshomaru walked through the cave, "You are useless and won't do anything! The master will punish you more once he is done dealing with those intruders."
"I don't care. I won't be his wife." Kaori spoke and the sounds of chains rattling could be heard.
"Tch, that husband of yours is a coward. He won't come back for you and if he did, Satsugai-sha would kill him." the voice became louder as Sesshomaru got closer.
"You're wrong. Sesshomaru isn't a coward. He will come and will defeat your master. I believe in him." she said.
"Hmp, why do you believe in him so much? He ran away leaving you here."
"I love him, that's why." she told him and Sesshomaru stopped as he reached where the two were.
The old man standing close to Kaori was the first to notice him. He quickly ran to hide behind a rock. Kaori looked up from the ground she had been staring at expecting to see Satsugai-sha, but instead Sesshomaru. The frown and glare on her face, quickly turned to a wide smile and tears.
"Y-you came." she said choked out as she was about to cry.
"Yes, did you doubt me?" he asked her as he walked over to her.
"No, I never did." she said as she stood up.
Sesshomaru ripped the chains from her wrist and ankles, before pulling her into a hug. Kaori hugged him tightly and shook as she cried.
"W-what did you do to my master?" the old man asked shaking in fear.
"He is dead." Sesshomaru said, before walking away with Kaori.
The two walked to the area where Sesshomaru had made A-Un, Jaken, Rin and Kohaku hide while he had went to find Kaori.
"Kaori! You're back!" Rin shouted happily as she hugged her tightly.
"Yeah, I'm glad you all are okay." she said and pulled Kohaku into a hug.
"Let's go." Sesshomaru said as he looked at them.
Kaori nodded her head, let go of Kohaku and ran to Sesshomaru side. He looked down at her as she stood up on her toes with her hands on his armor. She lightly pressed her lips to his cheek.
"Thank you for saving me." she told him and they began to walk for the exit out of that forest.
~Kaori P.O.V~ The Next Day~
"Ah, the sun! I'm glad to see it again!" I said happily as I raised my arms up at the sky.
It had taken us much longer than we had expected to get out of the dark and creppy forest. And now that we are out of there we can continue our search for Naraku.
A downside, but once he's gone the world would be a much safer and better place. One that my future children will be glad to live in.
"Sit!" I heard a familar voice shout and a thump following it shortly after it.
I was about to run back into the forest to find Kagome, but Sesshomaru stopped me.
"What?" I asked him.
"We must be going." Sesshomaru told me and I nodded my head.
"Okay." I said and glanced at the dark forest.
I wanted to see Kagome and the others, but we had things to do.
"Come on." Sesshomaru said almost impatiently.
I let out a sigh and got on A-Un with Rin, Kohaku, and Jaken.
