It had been a few hours and Bobby and I didn't know what to do. We both knew how this was going to end and really wanted to find a way to stop it. So we had no choice but to wait. Bobby had asked me to call Dean at least twice but I saw no point.
"Clara come on you have to do something." Bobby sighed.
"Why?" I asked looking over from the couch. "Bobby they are grown men, they pretty much do what they want." I sighed with a shrug.
"Well maybe you can change Sam's mind? Or Dean's?"
"Tried that remember?" I smirked. "No, if they wanted to listen to reason they would have but... let them figure it out." I sighed. Just as I finished my sentence the front door opened and Dean walked in quickly. I didn't bother getting up when I saw him. He come cuts on his face, hurt in his eyes and bruising around his neck. I huffed a laugh. "Or you know fight it out." I shook my head and Dean looked at me.
"Sam's not coming." Dean said walking over to the desk and taking a swig of whiskey.
"We can see that..." Bobby said. "What happened to you?" He asked Dean didn't answer. "Dean, what happened?" Bobby asked again.
"Isn't it obvious Bobby?" I spoked up and both men looked at me. Bobby sighed and looked back down at his desk while Dean just stared at me. Like he was wondering why I was being so cold all of a sudden. "What'd you say to him?" I asked with a small smile.
"Doesn't matter." Dean shook his head and just stared out the window.
"What did you say to him?" I asked again and Dean ignored me. I stood and walked away from him as he got closer. I walked over and sat on the edge of Bobby's desk. I shook my head and laughed angrily. "Well this is great... All you had to do was get Sam back here." I sighed.
"Clara." Bobby barked at me.
"What? Oh don't act like you aren't thinking the same. I bet even if he doesn't tell us what he said we have a pretty good idea." I snapped back and looked over at Dean who didn't even move.
"Just shut up for a minute." Bobby barked again.
"Sure, might as well save my breath." I nodded and smiled at Bobby who rolled his eyes at me.
"Dean you need to call Sam. You need to take back whatever happened and move on." Bobby said. "Call him now. There is still a chance." Bobby said and Dean just ignored us. "Dean! Are you listening to a word I'm sayin'?" Bobby said and we both heard Dean sigh.
"I heard you." He started and didn't turn. "I ain't calling him."
"Don't make me get my gun boy." Bobby warned.
"We are damn near kickoff for Armageddon, don't you think we have bigger fish at the moment?" Dean sighed he turned to look at Bobby.
"I know you're pissed and I'm not makin' apologies for what he's done, but he's your-"
"Blood?" Dean cut Bobby off. "He's my blood that's what you're gonna say?" Dean shook his head.
"He's your brother." Bobby sighed. "And he's drowning."
"Bobby I tried to help him, I did. Look what happened." Dean sighed looking hurt. I shook my head at his stubbornness.
"So try again." Bobby was now trying to get some sense into Dean.
"No, it's to late." Dean sighed as he walked over.
"There's no such thing." Bobby watched and I just listened.
"No! Damn it." Dean yelled "No, we gotta face the facts. Sam never wanted part of this family." Dean said and then looked over at me. "He hated this life, rode away to Stanford first chance he got." Dean shrugged and I just crossed my arms. I wasn't arguing Dean was right. "It's like Daja vu all over again. And I am sick and tired of chasing him around." Dean sighed as he sat down and tried to look away from Bobby and I. "Screw him. He can to what he wants."
"You don't mean that." Bobby spoke up and I could tell he was getting annoyed with Dean.
"Yes I do Bobby. Sam's gone. Gone." He paused and looked over at Bobby. "I'm not even sure if he's still my brother anymore." Dean said his eyes getting even more pain filled. "If he ever was." Dean added and I scoffed with a laugh and shook my head.
Bobby looked over at me and I could tell he was about a second away from losing his mind. Bobby was so angry and I could see it. Unfortunately I didn't have time to move before Bobby swiped everything from his desk and threw it all in my direction.
"Jesus Bobby." I said jumping from the desk as a bunch of papers and books hit my side. Pain shot throughout my body, I guess he forgot the bullet and knife I had just taken.
"You stupid, stupid son of a bitch!" Bobby yelled just after he threw things. Dean looked up quickly in shock. Dean stood the minute I jumped the from the desk and Bobby yelled. "Well boo hoo! I'm sorry your feelings are hurt princess!" Bobby yelled and I couldn't help but smile at that. "Are you under the impression that family is supposed to make you feel good? Make you an apple pie maybe?" Bobby asked narrowing his eyes. "They're supposed to make you miserable! That's why they're family!" Bobby continued to yell.
"I told him, you walk out that door don't come back." Dean came back at Bobby and shook his head. "And he walked out anyway! That was his choice!"
"You sound like a whiney brat." Bobby shook his head.
"No." Dean sighed walking pasted Bobby.
"No, he sounds like his father." I said from behind Bobby. Dean stopped and turned his head and just stared at me. I shook my head at him and shrugged. That is exactly what John had said to Sam before he left and she couldn't imagine how much it must have hurt hearing it again form his brother. Dean of course would hate her for saying that but she no longer cared.
"Yeah, well let me tell you something. You're father was a coward." Bobby jabbed and Dean stared back at him. That's when he actually got mad.
"My dad was a lot of things but a coward?" Dean said trying to hold back his anger.
"He would rather push Sam away then reach out to him. Well that don't strike as brave." Bobby said.
"You are a better man then your daddy ever was." Bobby said and Dean laughed tilting his head like he didn't believe him. "You do us all a favour... don't be him." Bobby added and I sighed. Bobby was right.
I was about to say something to calm everyone down when the ringing started. It was very loud and high pitched. I covered my ears quickly and Dean looked over at me. The ringing then turned to a very high pitched screaming. "Are you not hearing this?" I called out and Bobby and Dean looked at me like I was insane. "Oh my god." I said as I started to feel very week. Any longer and I would go deaf. I shut my eyes just for a second and Bobby came toward me as I fell to my knees.
Then like a switch it was over. I opened my eyes and looked up at Bobby who looked worried. I stood up slowly and when Bobby turned something was missing. "Dean?" He called out and I sighed. "Where the hell did he go?" Bobby turned to me.
"Angels." I sighed rubbing my banging head.
"Well now what?" Bobby asked looking over at me. I closed my eyes just to try to stop the ringing in my ears from echoing. I sighed rubbing my face again and Bobby huffed.
"Tell you what... You do some more digging see what you can find and I'll call one of my contacts, then I'm going to have one serious talk with a certain angel that is pissing me off." I said rushing over to grab my phone.
"One of your contacts?" Bobby laughed at me. "That tech girl from the FBI?" Bobby asked.
"Hey come on her name is Penelope and she did help us find Sam... but no that's not who I was talking about. Just you do your thing and I'll do mine. Sound good?" I smiled at Bobby.
"Sure." Bobby nodded.
I smiled at Bobby and gave him a reassuring nod. We were now cutting it really close to the last few seals and the angels just take Dean? What the hell was their plan anyways. I decided to ignore that problem for a minute and call Aaron. Maybe he would know what to do, because right now I was out of options.
"Hotchner." His voice was stern yet a bit uneasy.
"It's Clara." She started.
"You're alive?" He sounded relieved.
"Of course I am... why shouldn't I be?" I asked with a small laugh.
"Well seeing as all the seals have fallen I was kind of expecting the world to end..." Aaron sighed.
"Daddy!" I heard Jack in the background.
"Are you at home?" I asked with a small smiled.
"Yeah, again I thought-"
"Wow only takes the end of the earth to get you to take a day off. I'll remember that." I said and Aaron sighed. "Alright I need help. We only got like one seal left and I am so out of options." I sighed.
"Tell me what you need." He answered.
"I need a way to fix this." I said as I wondered around outside. "Sam is off with a demon, he is gonna kill Lilith and Dean is with the angels... they kinda kidnapped him."
"Hunt the demon then." Aaron said. "Stop thinking of this as the apocalypse, think of it as any other demon hunt. You look for omens, you follow the trail and you kill the black-eyed son of a bitch." Hotch said and I smiled.
"You're right." I smiled. "Thanks... I owe you one when this is over."
"Yeah well how about you come back to the team once this hunt is over." Hotch said.
"Wait really?" I asked.
"You have kept your job waiting long enough don't you think?" He asked. "Good luck Clara, and be careful." Hotch said and he hung up. I closed my phone with a smile. I couldn't believe my job was still waiting for me. With my friends, where there were no more demons and angels. Hotch was right. I needed to be back there.
"I need to speak to you." Castiel's voice made me jump. I didn't even hear him this time.
I turned quickly and looked at him. My smile dropped and I shook my head. "About what exactly? About kidnapping Dean? Leaving me to die in that warehouse with your family? Or letting Sam out of the panic room?" I asked with a cocky smiled and Cas' eyes widened. "Oh yeah I know it was you."
"How?" He asked squinting at me.
"Please. You think I don't know what a demon can and can't do?" I laughed shaking my head at him. "Why'd you let him out?" I asked and Cas didn't answer. "Tell me. You owe me that much." I said.
"I owe you?" he asked with a scoff. "I don't think you know who you are talking to... I owe you nothing." He shook his head.
"Really?" I asked. Cas really was different. "So taking a knife to the side and a bullet to the gut means nothing to you?" I asked crossing my arms. "Almost dying to save your ass at least twice doesn't mean anything either?" I asked and Cas just stared back at me. "What the hell happened to you in heaven!" I yelled trying to get at least an answer from him.
"Nothing." Cas said standing up tall.
"You are a terrible liar. Cas before you disappeared you needed Dean's help, and mine as well! You came to us when you had a problem, hell I even thought for like a second we were friends." I said shaking my head again and he sighed. "But apparently I'm just an abomination right?" I asked. Cas looked up with wide eyes. It was like he had forgotten calling me that. "How dare you! After everything we have done for you! Everything I've done for you! You just-"
"Enough!" A different voice put a stop to my yelling.
I turned quickly and realized I was no longer in Bobby's lot. I looked around the clean white and gold room to find Zachariah and Dean standing staring at me. "Dean?" I asked with a small smile.
"Castiel is under my orders." Zachariah said walking over to me. "In fact he should have killed you long ago." He said and I stepped away from him. "But you have proven to be useful and you are about to be useful again." He smiled.
"Ha! Screw you." I said walking around him and over to Dean's side.
"You alright?" he whispered to make sure Cas had not done anything.
"Fine, you?" I asked.
"More or less." Dean sighed as he looked down at me with a sad look.
"You two seem to think this is a game, or that you actually have a choice." Zachariah laughed.
"Free will... comes with being human." I smiled. "Some angels too." I said looking over to Cas who was basically hiding behind Zachariah. "So you gonna tell me what's going on here or should I just leave?" I asked with a smirk.
"Oh don't worry, your leaving soon." Zachariah said looking back at Cas who looked down with a sigh.
"And where are you planning on taking her?" Dean finally spoke up in a protective tone.
"She going to see Sam." Zachariah smiled. "Sam can't break the final seal without you, Clara." He said taking a few steps forward.
"I thought you were suppose to stop-" I paused when I realized what he meant. They weren't planning on stopping Lilith, they wanted this to happen. I looked over at Cas. "That's why you let Sam out. Couldn't finish the job locked up?" I asked and Dean looked over at me. "Should I even bother asking why we want this to happen?"
"I think you know." Zachariah smiled. "But right now you are our little pawn."
"Wow you sure know how to treat a lady." I shook my head with a huff. "Cas, take us back." I asked looking over to Cas who just looked down.
"Better yet take us both to Sam." Dean said. "Just because you want the world to burn doesn't mean I'm gonna let it happen." Dean smirked.
"Oh well like I said you can't go anywhere." Zachariah said to Dean as he took a few steps closer. "But I'd be happy to take you to Sam." Zachariah smiled and I narrowed my eyes at him.
"And what exactly happens to me once you take me to him?" I asked and Dean looked down at me then back to Cas and Zachariah. No one said anything but the ringing in my ears started again. I tried to cover them but the voice was now so loud that it hurt even worse than before.
"WHAT DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO HAPPEN! YOU'RE SMART FIGURE IT OUT!" The voice cried into my head and I shut my eyes quickly.
"What are you doing to her!?" Dean yelled and Cas looked up at me with big eyes. "Stop it!" He called as I grabbed onto his arm and squeezed tightly and slowly fell to my knees. "Cas come on!" Dean begged Cas who did nothing but watch.
"HE IS GONNA BLEED YOU! SAM IS GOING TO KILL YOU! CAS DID WARN YOU! YOU AREN'T GONNA SURVIVE!" The voice cried.
"Clara?" I could barely hear Dean over the yelling and the ringing. Then once he placed his hand on my knee to get me to look at him everything stopped. My eyes popped open and Dean saw the fear in them.
"Don't let them..." I said quietly. "Don't let them win." I said as my head started to spin. Dean slowly helped me back up and I just stared at him suddenly realizing this could actually be the last time I saw him. I smiled and placed my hand on his cheek and Dean just looked at me, he was afraid.
"Well. Shall we?" Zachariah smiled and I looked at him. I sighed and quickly looked back to Dean.
"Just don't take to long okay?" I asked and pulled him into me quickly. I kissed him gently and it seemed the minute my lips touched his I was pulled away again.
One flash of light and I was out of that room. It felt like I was falling for a good minute. I landed on the ground and when I opened my eyes it was dark and very cold. I looked around quickly and noticed the sign just by the gate. St. Mary's Convent. I sighed and just as I was about to reach for my phone or my gun I felt the very sharp blade at my back.
"Move and you die." A very angry voice came from behind me.
"Ah well you would just be killing me quicker." I laughed as I looked over my shoulder only to be greeted by black eyes. The man put his arm around my neck and pressed the knife to my side as he started walking. He headed for the door and in my head I was screaming for Cas to snap out of his trans and help. "Where we going?" I asked with a laugh as the demon pushed me into the building.
"So glad you could join us Clara." A women down the hall in a long white dress spoke up without turning. I was pushed down the hall and into the room and once the doors closed it was just me and her. She turned quickly and her eyes were grey. Not like any other demon I have ever seen but I knew who she was.
"Well here I am... what do you want?" I asked trying not to let my worry or fear get to me.
"Aw a little bitter you angel friends gave you up?" She smiled tilting her head. "They can be real dicks huh?" she kept smiling.
"No argument there." I nodded and looked around.
"Well should we just cut to the chase or should we wait for Sammy?" She asked. "Either way you're not walking out of here." She said as she started to circle me. "So handy having a friend like you around, and with such rich blood." She smiled. "Yes I think Sam will enjoy this once he gets past the fact he killed his only friend in the world."
"That's where you're wrong. Sam may be a lot of things but a killer isn't one. He isn't gonna hurt me." I smiled.
"Really? Well tell that to the three people he drained earlier today. I bet they all thought the same." She laughed. "Now I may not want to die but hey anything for the boss." Lilith said as she stopped in front of me.
"Alright, enlighten me. Why am I here?" I sighed shaking my head. Honestly I was just trying to waste time and maybe stall her a bit.
"See that's what I find funny. You human have so much hate for Lucifer and yet you don't even know him." She smiled. "You forget he was an angel at one time. He was one of the greatest too." She sighed. "But then God and his brothers banished him to Hell..." She paused and looked up at me. "Takes an angel to bring one back." She sighed. "Again so lucky Sam found you... part angel, and just enough too. I love when everything works out."
"So what kill me then have Sam kill you? Doesn't really seem to work out well for anyone." I smiled.
"Well once I'm dead we win." She smiled pulling a knife and stabbing me in the hip. I called out in pain and fell to the ground. "But might as well kill two birds with one stone."
Lilith's flashed me a smile and that was the last thing I saw before a cloud of smoke took over the room. The women in the white dress who was once Lilith fell to the ground and looked drained of all her will to live. I looked up and saw the smoke circling me. I started to panic.
"No." I shook my head and looked down at my hip. She had driven a knife right through my anti possession tattoo. "Shit." I said as I pulled the knife out and put a hand over the bleeding. I was not praying for some miracle. "Please hurry." Were the last of my own words before the smoke attacked.
